Between Evelyn's two jobs, she was usually hating on the one she had just finished up for the day the most, and today that was waitressing. At first she didn't mind since the place had a specialty in dessert and doubled as a bakery, but that eventually got old. Still, she enjoyed her discount for working there, even if she ended up just using it to donate the donuts always present in the lobby of the church when anything was going on.
She wasn't quite sure why, but donuts just always seemed to be a compulsory cog in any event that happened in that building whether it was Wednesday bible study or an AA meeting or any host of things that used the space of the large church building. Donuts were just required.
Which was why, after clocking out this evening, Evie leaned on the counter and ordered her usual espresso for recovering the long shift and six dozen donuts. Yeah, six dozen. And after some time the impressive order was only stacked to two out of six boxes, and she decided to help herself to one or two while she waited.

Azzo had headed into the cafe-bakery and looked at the menu waiting for someone to wait on him. He was standing at the counter trying to decide what he wanted he knew as far as the cappuccino went, but the dessert... Well that was the hard thing, this place had in his opinion the best everything. "Hmm..."
He'd been debating with himself on getting the hot fudge sundae cake, cinnamon buns or donuts. His eyes wondered over the menu before looking towards Evie, she seemed to be waiting on a large order or maybe she was just going to eat that box of two dozen herself. "What would you suggest for dessert?" He asked her tilting his head still looking at the menu, "I can't really decide what I want tonight."

Evelyn was just leaning on the counter by her ever growing stack of boxes, donut in hand, still in uniform. She really wasn't expecting Azzo to address her, but when he did, she quirked up an inquisitive eyebrow and shrugged. "Well the donuts are about to be all gone," She said and glanced up towards the menu.
"Lava cake should be fresh. Had to make a new batch about a half hour ago," She suggested with a nod. She really couldn't bring herself to recommend anything with cinnamon in it. Or lemon. For some reason, after smelling those two smells all night, just thinking about it made her sick.

Azzo nodded, as he listened to Evelyn. "Oh Lava cake does sound good." He said after a second, as he watched the donut box pile grow.
There was a free waitress that came by. "I'd like five lava cakes to go, one of those I'd like with vanilla ice cream please." He smiled at the lady as she nodded, paying her so she could go get his food.
"Are you going to need help carrying those?" He asked looking at the number of boxes. Obviously this was one of those moments that screamed 'I need help with these boxes'. His honey brown eyes were set on the stack warily, totally too many for one person to carry. He was planning on eating the one Lava cake as fast as he could so the ice cream didn't melt. The others could wait till he got home.

"Five?" Evie sputtered at the sheer amount of all that chocolate cake. Maybe she wasn't one to talk with her massive donut hoard but she planned on sharing these with a large group of people. This other dude didn't seem like he was walking in here with any bigger plan than satisfying his sweet tooth.
"Jeez, dude, are you trying to see if death by chocolate is a real thing?"
But he did offer help, and she looked at the stack with a little bit of uncertainty. "Maybe. I guess it'd probably be faster to get them out to my car with some help."

Azzo paused, "Yeah. Grams'll probably want one and the rest'll save till tomorrow." He chuckled, "Of course the ice cream one won't last long."
He shrugged softly he often ordered a bit much but he never really hogged them unless no one showed up to share it with. "Actually seeing if death by chocolate is real might be interesting, but I'd rather try that later."
When she half accepted his offer he nodded, "Awesome, no need for you to accidentally drop any because you tried to carry too many at a time." He knew how tricky donut boxes could be, he always ran into that trouble. "Plus you know it's getting dark out, with all these weird gang wars there's no telling what trouble the smell of donuts could attract. I could protect you and the food." He gave a nod like it was a noble cause to help her on.
