Tasryn was staring. This woman wanted her to go through all the corridors and change out the glows? All of them? Her body was already aching, and each time she shifted her feet a dull throbbing shot up her legs. Well, this was not what she had thought coming to be a candidate would be like. There was so much work! And if you got into any kind of trouble, at all, the chores would be doubled! It had actually gotten to the point that as soon as she was released from her duties, she would go straight back to the barracks and fall asleep. The brunette had been sleeping throughout the entire night. She was supposed to be a night person! How could she properly continue her studies if these people wore her out to the point where she couldn't go stargazing.

It was actually quite sad. But she had decided to give this whole thing a chance. So she might as well suck it up and stay out of trouble. Noticing that the woman had stopped talking, Tas flashed a grin at her and took the basket of new glows. "I'll get 'em done as quickly as possible." And with that, the woman left. And as soon as her back was turned, the girl made a face. How was she supposed to reach the sharding things? They were much taller than her. Eyes darted around the kitchens for a moment before a grin began to pull at her lips.

If she remembered correctly, that person would be the best helper. So the girl eased her way to the much taller female and stopped just a few steps from the other. "Quindrife!" Lucky, lucky! "Are you busy?" Please don't let her be busy. She was just the person who could help! And, she seemed interesting. Two birds with one stone! She could get help with the glows AND she could find out more about the other girl. Maybe she'll be able to make some friends after all!

The sweet pitch that resonated in her ear caused the towering brunette to straighten to her full height noticeably, donning a lopsided grin the lean framed candidate snubbed her nose before allowing a chuckle to dislodge from the back of her throat.

“Tasryn,” gruffly murmured the longhaired teen in a pleasant tenor as she wiped her bruised and calloused hands along her trousers smearing a line of white starch from tubers across the tanned pants that she wore. “I’m not too busy to turn ya down, whacha need beautiful?” Confidence claimed her deepened tone, soft round gray hues glinted sweetly through half lidded eyes as she glanced politely at the lass beside her. It was odd never before had the other candidate girl approached her but it seemed that today was different. Brushing the back of her wrist against her forehead Quindrife fumbled with a loose lock of long brown hair, pawing at the tress over and over again the brute grunted before giving up in the endeavor and allowing her hair to fall into her eyes giving her a messy appearance.

‘Shards, I must look horrible. Ugh, why did she pick today of all days to talk to me?’

Snubbing her nose out of habit once more the brunette found herself puffing up her small chest and flexing her muscular arms nonchalantly, unknowingly bringing her toned lean figure closer to the petite girl beside her, there was an expression that Tasryn had flickering in her soft hues one that spoke volumes to the tomboy.

“You need my help with something don’t cha?”

Oh dear. The other girl was actually taller than she had remembered. Or had she shrunk since then? Either way, amber eyes blinked as they slowly moved up to look into the younger female's eyes. The moment her voice was spoken, the girl seemed to wake from her stupor and shook her head. "I'm glad you're not busy, I was hoping yo-" Wait. Beautiful? Tasryn's eyes seemed to widen before she ducked her head. After clearing her throat, she motioned towards the baskets of glows. "I was hoping you could help me on glow duty? I'm a bit.." The brunette paused for a moment and looked down at herself before tilting her head back towards Quindrife, a grin plastered onto her lips. "..too short."

'Did she really call me that? What should I do? Should I flirt back? Is she like that? What?! No, no. I can't. Bad idea, Tas.' She just needed to start work. But..maybe choosing this girl was a bad idea. She should've chosen one of the boys. Oh well.

Wait..when had she gotten so close? The shorter girl almost jumped as she noticed the distance that had been decreased and took a quick step back. 'Shardit all.' "And, I could use the companionship."
PostPosted: Fri Jul 15, 2011 2:28 am

As Tasryn jumped backwards so did the awkwardly tall brunette reflexively, snubbing her nose roughly with her thumb Quindrife forced her expression to remain calm regardless of how suddenly flustered she felt internally. The smaller girl’s face had the telltale signs of concern knitted in her delicate brow and the stammer of her words told the candidate everything that she needed to know.

‘Get it outta your head Quinnie, she obviously isn’t comfortably around you. Just do what she wants and shut your trap. Maybe if you are lucky she will still wanna talk to you after all is said and done.’ Mentally seethed Quindrife at her own stupidity for flirting so openly with a near stranger. Brushing the stray locks of long brown hair out of her gray hues again the towering brute cleared her throat and forced a dazzling toothy grin towards Tasryn.

“Um--ah-- I will help you-- but you are gonna owe me one.” Unknowingly Quindrife winked towards the pretty little amber eyed girl, she couldn’t help herself Tasryn was attractive and instructively she acted out of habit. Rubbing her jaw with her left hand the teen reached out and snatched the basket full of glows from the older candidate, jerking her head to the side she motioned towards the door that lead into one of the winding hallways that would need to be tended to. “Come on, lets get going. This shouldn’t take too long.” Affirmed Quindrife in a silken velvet tenor that wavered slightly with nervousness, even though her voice was deepened with a falsetto gruffness that made it masculine the brunette every once in a while forgot to mask her manner in speech and in the latter of her sentence her tone cracked into the sweet feminine range that was her natural pitch.

If she'd been surprised by the female's sudden closeness, the fact that the other had jumped back as well was a much bigger surprise. Why had she done that? Tasryn didn't think she could've startled someone like Quindrife. Then again, she didn't really know the girl very well. Her attentions were pulled away from her internal musing by the taller girl clearing her throat. Blinking in mild surprise at the grin, it didn't take more than a second for a smile to ease back on her lips. "Owe ya? Very well, I'll owe ya something then."

'A wink! Why is she winking at me? Something in her eye, or perhaps..' Hmm, this would prove to be an interesting chore after all, If Tas was thinking correctly. Though if she was thinking correctly, this could be bad. Very bad. Well, maybe not that bad. Some time spent at the Weyr and she could already see that those kinds of things seemed to be happening a lot. After allowing the younger female to take the basket from her, a hand reached up to lightly trace the scar on her cheek. Hm, some thinking would have to be done later that night.

Shards! Quindrife had a much longer gait than she! Shaking her head of any more thoughts, Tasryn hurried after the other. "Why do you do that?" Cocking her head to the side, she eyed the other candidate for a moment. Her voice had cracked and revealed a different sounding voice. Which meant that the feminine voice was real and the gruff was forced. "This shouldn't take too long? I hope it does. There are lots of tunnels after all, I've mapped up quite a few of 'em." A smirk curled onto her lips and she reached out to lightly prod the other's side with her elbow. "Don'tcha want to spend some time in the tunnels all alone with me?" Her voice stressed the alone and she arched an eyebrow while gazing up at Quindrife. The entire look meant to be teasing, however, there was an undertone of a flirty voice in there.

Was Tasryn flirting with her? On purpose? Or perhaps completely unintentional. Who knew.

Quindrife very well went beet red from toe to head as the girl beside her nudged her and teased relentlessly. “Why did I do what,” she grumbled and squeaked nearly all at the same time. The question could have been directed at any number of things that the tomboy did, puffing her chest up a bit like an animal trying to make itself more impressive Quindrife switched the basket of glows from her natural left hand to her off right hand. Strutting down the hall the longhaired candidate paused at the first of many stops.

The sound that eased up into her ear caused the nearly six foot mass of lean muscle to blanch considerably and rub the back of her neck sheepishly. “I didn’t mean I wouldn’t like to---” for lack of better words the brunette trailed off as if trying to buy time for her mind to ponder and collect something more elegant. Upon returning empty with verbal silk Quindrife formed a lopsided grin on her feminine yet grimy face. “spend some time alone with you,” she finished her sentence with a husky rumble of confidence in her voice. “But I am not sure you would want to be left alone with me for too long. People in the Weyr will gossip. I have been known to sweep the ladies off their feet a few times.”

A bold faced lie.

The expression that the older girl directed at Quindrife caused the teen to fumble with the basket in her less than favorable right hand sending a few across the floor. “Shells! Sorry Tasryn---you just make me nervous---” Candidly admitted the pale complexioned brute. “I mean---” Quindrife blinked rapidly as she heard her own words hand in the air uncomfortably. “I mean you make me nervous because I don’t want someone like me ruining your good reputation. After all, most people think I am a big troublemaker. Right? I don’t want people to treat you different because you talk to me… ya know?”

"Change yer voice." Not aware that she hadn't actually said that with the question. Her attention was more focused on the fact that the younger girl had gone so red. It was actually amusing, was she that good at teasing, or was Quindrife actually shy? Once again, these were thoughts that would be put back for later as they came to a pause at the first glow. However, just as she was about to move to help change it, her companion began to talk once more. Which had the brunette pausing to look her over as she fumbled with her sentence once before continuing. Hm? So that's how it was, huh? Well, at least her suspicions were confirmed.

Just as she opened her mouth to make a comment on the idea of her being the Weyr's gossip, the girl began to fumble around and bam! Glows were sliding around on the floor. "Nervous? What happened to tha confidence I just heard." She shook her head in amusement before moving to pick up the scattered glows. Tasryn listened to the girl with only half a ear, mainly because the words she uttered were complete nonsense. She could do as she like, it didn't matter what other people thought. She needed someone she could spend time with, after all.

"Good reputation? I wasn't aware tha I had any reputation at all 'round here." She chuckled and picked up the last of the glows, moving back towards Quindrife with a playful grin plastered onto her face. "Troublemakers are fun anyways. Which means it'll be fun being friends with ya."
PostPosted: Sun Jul 17, 2011 7:19 pm

The question that the girl posed caused a twitch to rupture in the back of bruised knees that were hidden by baggy trousers, the numbness in her lower limbs paralyzed Quindrife; opening her mouth to reply the awkward brunette found her tongue stuck to the roof of her mouth. Dumbstruck, gray eyes stared helplessly at the older candidate as she picked up each carelessly dropped glow. Sucking in a lungful of air the lanky brute summoned the more suave demeanor that she normally used when speaking to her peers.

“Um--my Ma always told me glows were hot so I wouldn’t play with them when I was little,” her voice was a low rumble in the back of her throat as she pathetically attempted to divert Tasryn’s attention, clumsily exchanging a dimmed light source for the newer brighter one Quindrife stretched her muscular shoulders trying to sooth the pinching nervousness that rode up her spine. “I don’t change my voice,” a simple lie. “my throat just tightens up sometimes is all.”

Brushing past the shorter candidate with a refreshed aloofness the tomboy strolled at a brisk pace until she was pleased with the distance between then, spinning on her heels she set the basket of glows down then snubbed her nose cockily. Cracking her knuckles the solidly built teen exhaled and dropped onto her hands then straightened until her legs were vertical in the air, locking her elbows in place the disheveled brunette lifted her hands one after the other and approached Tasryn wearing an upside down mischievous smirk.

“You sure you wanna hang out with someone like me? Do you really think you can keep up?”

"That doesn't explain why I make ya nervous." Carefully she laid the glows back into the basket and tilted her head up to look the other in the eye. Really, why would hearing about how her mother told her glows were hot would detour the girl from getting the answer she wanted. Tsk, this girl would learn that there wasn't much that would keep the brunette from getting what she wanted. Or at least attempting to do so. Eyes watched as the girl changed the glow with amusement. She really seemed nervous now, how could little Tasryn do that to someone so easily?

"Right..." She was not fooled. Tightening of the throat? Please. She remembered hearing a girlier voice coming from Quindrife before. Tsk, she was a pretty bad liar. That or Tas could just sense a lie. That word wasn't in the air for much longer than a few seconds before the taller girl brushed passed her and began to walk away faster than the older female could keep up. Why was she cursed to be this short? Grunting in annoyance, she hurried after her companion, seeming to take two steps for one of Quindrife's. However, just as she was about halfway to the girl, the other spun around and set down the basket. That couldn't be good. Tasryn stopped mid-step and froze, unsure of what to do.

Wait...what? Tasryn tilted her head to the side and watched, fascinated as the boyish girl began to walk on her hands. And then the girl ruined the moment by questioning her. Wrinkling her nose, the girl shook her head. "Keep up? I'm afraid I have no idea what yer talkin about." A smirk grew on her lips and she moved closer to the other brunette and pushed at her legs, hoping to send her into the dirt.

"I'll do whatever I want, thank you very much." Chuckling, she rushed further into the tunnel and picked up the basket before spinning around and sticking her tongue out at Quindrife. "Let's see if you can keep up with me, hm?" And with that, Tasryn took off down the hall to the next stop.

She had to be flirting, right? Quindrife wasn’t sure but she knew that she had been challenged in a sort of innocent teasing way that caused her pride to take control. Flopping flat onto her back the brunette tumbled from the fall rather acrobatically when the older candidate pushed on her long lanky legs, already upright as the girl stuck out her tongue then ran the muscled female fought back the urge to end the fun before it started and held a leisurely pace rather than a flat out run as she went after Tasryn. Her laugh was truly the one thing that she couldn’t fake unless she forced it to be a guff chuckle but even then it came out higher pitched than what she would have liked it, the nearly musical treble that erupted from Quindrife as she chased the petite figured starcrafter echoed down the hallway and hung in the air until another bout of laughter from the towering brunette.

Switching from pressing off with the heels of her feet to the balls Quindrife closed the gap that she had so generously given the smaller female, reaching out swiftly the athletic brute gripped Tasryn by her waist with both large hands then spun the girl wildly until she was firmly against her own body and pinned in defeat against the wall where the glow lamp resided.

“Ha! Caught you,” merrily exclaimed the girl completely unaware of just how close to the other she truly was. Before Quindrife even had a chance to notice she grinned and stepped aside, the cool rush of air against her exposed skin caused her to redirect her attention towards her abdomen. The old hand-me-down blue tunic stuck upon itself in an awkward fold which revealed the hardened muscles of her sculpted and chiseled stomach, at some point her garb must had come un tucked from her trousers and ridden up; shaking her head Quindrife merely readjusted her clothing completely unbothered by the fact in any regard. Around women she was a nervous wreck however the one thing that proved as a firm standing point for the tomboy was her manly physique which she took great pride in for the most part, it was truly one thing that if another female saw she didn’t panic or overreact about. Normally. “How was that for keeping up, smart mouth?”

Ha! She knew it, she was quite obviously changing her voice. No one could talk like that and then have such a higher laughter. However, Quindrife's laughter was infectious and before Tasryn knew it, she was laughing right along with the other. Which didn't help with her running, and shard it all, if only she didn't have this basket to carry. Surely she would end up much farther from her pursuer than she was. Of course, she knew that wouldn't happen. She never had been very good at running, she was more of an inside sitting at a desk or outside at night staring at stars sort of person.

Tas continued to pump her legs, enjoying the physical activity more than she thought she would. Amber eyes were darting around, double checking for glows. She didn't want to accidentally miss one after all. Oh! There one was! Opening her mouth, she was about to call out to Quindrife when there were hands on her waist. Oh Faranth, oh Faranth. The small girl let out a shriek of laughter as she was spun around. Breathing hard from the combination of running and laughing, she looked up at Quindrife and grinned.

Oh. Her back was pressed to the wall and her front...oh shards. The younger girl was pressed against her. The other's words were ignored as her mind went into panic mode. Eyes were wide and her mouth looked to be moving up and down a bit as she tried to think of something to say. She never got the chance. Quindrife had pulled away causing Tas's gaze to follow. The brunette's face burned with a blush as she caught sight of the girl's stomach.

Shaking her head, she pushed herself from the wall and took a deep breath. It took her a moment to calm down and even then she wasn't sure if she could look at the other girl without her face heating up again. "Keep up? Hmph, ya have longer legs. Get as short as me and we'll talk." A small grin and she set the basket down. Quickly grabbing a glow, she pressed her hand against the wall and stood up on the tip of her toes to reach the basket.

The retort was instant. “I can’t shrink but maybe you could grow, pipsqueak,” drawled the brunette as she watched the shorter girl attempt to replace the glows. “I gave you a head start and you still gave me about as much sport as a wounded fish---on land!” She snorted at the imagery that she conjured with her simple words. Thudding Tasryn on the back in a friendly manner the tomboy shook her head.

“You look so ridiculous. Come here, let me help you.” Crouching down onto a knee the brute cupped her hands together and offered the girl the makeshift step. “I will boost you up. Come on, gimme that little foot of yours.” Calmly urged the girl in sweet tone that verged between vocal ranges harmoniously.

Clack, clack, clack.

The sounds of heavy boots headed in their direction tore gray eyes away from the brunette that stood by her, Quindrife could feel the hairs on her muscular arms raise and a cold chill rush down her back. There was only one person in the whole Weyr that wore boots that could make the sound that she heard. Baston.

Oooooh Quinnie,” he called maliciously towards the knelt brunette. Stiffening defensively the candidate snarled audibly in his direction. “I like it when you’re on yer knees, it suits you---” blue eyes trailed over to Tasryn for the first time, smirking at her the sandy haired boy approached with a swagger to his steps. “Now why would a good looking gal like you be hanging around a monstrosity like her? I would be careful around her sort, she fancies herself just as good a manfolk, in fact she even likes the girlies. A disgusting queer she is. Shards! I might jus’a saved you from getting---” A near feral growl interrupted the boy known as Baston from his lengthy warning about the tomboy. Ever since they were small children he had teased the awkward girl about anything that he could manage as fodder to shoot her down a peg or two. It wasn’t until she had refused to be courted by the lad that he made it his existence to torture the lass.

“That is enough, Baston,” angrily barked Quindrife as she stood up rigidly while puffing out her flat chest defensively. “Shut yer mouth! I am tired of you always saying nasty things about me! Half of the Weyr hates me because of you! Shove off ya git!”

Shrugging his large shoulders the sandy-haired boy glanced towards Tasryn, his dimpled cheeks displayed the amused grin that donned his face and carried a sparkle to his pale blue eyes. “Quinnie, come on don’t get so defensive. What, are you scared that yer gonna frighten her off too? I bet ya already were pushing yourself on her. Poor Tas. Was Quinnie trying to charm you---” Yet again Quindrife snapped at the boy then shoved him roughly on his chest sending him stumbling back a few feet. Laughing wholeheartedly Baston dusted the front of his tunic off then smirked venomously at the brunette.

“I said shut up!” She roared in a deepened tone that threatened to crack at any moment. Jerking her head over her shoulder towards the amber eyed girl panic evident on her facial features as she did so. “I’m not gay, Tas. I’m not. I like boys, you don’t have to be scared of me, he is just trying to upset me. It is a joke, so you don’t have treat me different. I’m not gay…” At this the boy laughed harder and pointed towards the tomboy while clutching his ribs trying to gather his breath.

Really! You’re seriously trying to say you don’t like girls? Prove it! Kiss me then! Show her that you don’t like girlies! Unless of course, you are queer, Quindrife. Go on, prove me wrong! We both know how much you love to win.

The bitter taste of bile rose up the lithe figured candidate’s throat, the prat had caught her between a rock and a hard place. If she refused what would the older girl think of her, hadn’t they been flirting together earlier? No, there was no way something like that could possibly be. Quindrife knew that she had probably just imagined it, more than anything she just longed to find someone that wanted her---to be with her--- it was a stupid fantasy that would never come true. Balling her fist at her sides the brunette snarled. If she kissed Baston, well then she would have kissed him, that in itself was punishment enough, but what if Tasryn genuinely liked her? Would that ruin her chance with her if she did go through with the challenge? She hated the sandy-haired boy and would never forgive him for this. Stepping forward the girl lifted her hand and placed it on the boy’s shoulder as her slightly shorter frame moved in towards him. Everything in her body told her to pull away, yet the brunette pressed forward until their mouths nearly touched.

WACK!

Headbutting the boy as hard as she could the action sending both Quindrife and Baston in different directions holding their faces grimacing. “SO WHAT IF I AM GAY?! JUST SCREW OFF, BOTH OF YOU CAN JUST SCREW OFF IF IT BOTHERS YOU SO MUCH!” Bitterly screamed the lanky built powerhouse towards both Baston and Tasryn, staggering against the wall the boy smirked despite the blood dripping from his nose down to his chin, a glint of delight in his piercing blue eyes.

Told ya she’s a freak--- come on--- lets go somewhere else. She can finish with the glow duties by herself.” He urged to Tas while wiping his face on his long sleeve. Directing his stare at the girl he held out his hand and smiled, keeping her stormy gray hues locked on the ground Quindrife took several steps backwards and picked up the basket of glows while visibly trembling with either rage or grief. Perhaps both?

“I told you, you didn’t wanna be seen with me---” muscular shoulders went slag and the tall younger girl slouched with defeat. “Go on---I will finish this---”

"Well, it's a good thing I'm not some critter. I'd be a horribly boring hunt." Tas wrinkled her nose in distaste of the imagery offered at her statement before chuckling to herself. Oh yes, she'd be a pretty boring chase as herself or as some animal. She couldn't help that she was no good at physical activities. A thump on the back from the other girl and she lost her footing for a moment. Shards, was the girl really that strong? Hearing the offer of help, Tas cast a glance from the glow then to Quindrife. Grunting, she stretched her body back up, willing her hand to reach the stupid thing. No such luck. So Tasryn stepped back and watched as the taller girl got done on a knee and make a step of her hands. "Why does everyone like to point out how little I am?" She grumbled as she cracked a smile at the girl.

She was just about to take the offered help and lifted her foot up so she could grab the glow. However, a voice interrupted as it called out to her companion. Arching an eyebrow, she set her foot back down and turned to the source. A boy? Furrowing her brows, she watched as the male came closer, amber eyes shifting from him to Quindrife. Bad blood between them? It seemed so, from the way the other girl was reacting. Suddenly, she felt the boy's attention move to her, the smirk appearing on his face making her feel very uncomfortable. Unconsciously, she took a step away from him and a bit closer to Quindrife. She could already tell this was not someone she wanted to talk too. And then the boy had to go and open his mouth again. Tasryn visibly paled as he said the word queer. No..no.. Not this all over again. She had thought the Weyr was more accepting. Was that a lie? Trying to keep her fear from showing, she watched as Quin stood up. It was obvious that the boy seemed to rile her up very easily.

Baston, hm? She made a mental note to stay far from him.

And then the yelling began. It was clear that there was nothing good between the two. Tasryn just stood there, as if her body was frozen in place. Quindrife turned her head to face her, a panicked look that startled the older of the two. She was denying being gay. Eyes widened for a moment and it wasn't Quin's face she saw, but her own. Repeating those words over and over. A hand shot up to her face and fingers drifted over the scar that rested along her cheek.

Eyes went fuzzy as she fell back into the past, completely missing the rest of the conversation between the two. Her attention wasn't pulled back until a rather loud wacking nose reached her ears. Shaking her head, eyes shot back to the two. There was Baston with blood running down his face and Quindrife...yelling. At the both of them? What had she done?!

Eyes flashed towards the girl with an unknown emotion before she moved towards Baston. Forcing herself to get as close as possible, the girl looked up at the boy and forced a sweet smile. Then before allowing him to say anything else, she promptly brought her knee up into his crotch. "Don't you dare come near me again." Her voice hissed as she quickly jumped away from him, just in case. She was pissed. For the first time in her entire life. Someone had dared hurt her friend, and in front of her no less! And he...he had insulted who she was. And by the shell, she would never leave Quindrife, or any of her other friends, for someone like Baston.

Slipping back to the girl's side, she offered a small smirk. "An' I told you. I do what I want." She cast a glance back at Baston and shook her head. "Tha's not what I want. At all." A shiver of disgust rocked her body before she tilted her head back up to Quindrife. "Any better offers?"
PostPosted: Fri Jul 22, 2011 10:35 am

Quindrife scowled at the moxie little brunette in front of her, the huge black and blue knot clearly doubling in size on her forehead as they looked at each other, gray meeting amber. Baston groaned and sputtered cupping at his groin with both hands, there was no way that she was going to wait for him to recover and open his vile mouth. “Better offer---” Quindrife’s voice simply was flat and fogged with edges of anger still hanging on the notes, grabbing Tasryn by her wrist the tomboy pulled her roughly away from the glow lamp. “I can’t promise a better offer, after all you are now in the company of the big scary queer candidate.” Her face was a cluster of emotions, all pained and twisted. Honestly the girl looked as if she were about to cry at any given moment.

“The Weyr isn’t a bad place--- people honestly don’t care if you are different but there are some that go out of there way to make this place feel like a Hold,” gruffly explained the brunette, a subtle reassurance in her somber tenor. Quindrife had yet to release her companion by her arm, the grip was firm, strong yet even with all of the anger she felt the tomboy had an underlying tenderness to her grasp. “I’m sorry I yelled at you….” pathetically mumbled the brunette before pointing towards yet another glow that needed to be replaced.

“After this----if you want---we could go and get a bite to eat or some wine.” She froze. “I’m not hitting on you---” frantically Quindrife found herself explaining herself and covering her actions, both of her hands where held in front of her as if showing she was harmless. “It isn’t that I wouldn’t like to court you but---shards none of this is coming out right. I just mean---you are pretty and obviously will make some lad very happy so you don’t have to worry about me trying to do anything that would make you uncomfortable.”

‘Besides being near you.’

Widening her eyes in surprise, Tasryn stared down at the hand that was clasped around her wrist before slowly moving her gaze back up to the other's face. Was she going to cry? Would it be out of anger of because she was sad, or maybe both? Whichever reason, the girl did not like it. She did not appreciate it when people brought her friends close to tears. And after all this..Quindrife was a friend, regardless if she continued to speak about herself the way she did. The little brunette would eventually teach her her worth.

When the other began to speak about the Weyr, an eyebrow rose. She was reassuring her about this place? Odd. Especially after what had just happened. Shaking her head, Tasryn waved off the girl's apology and gave her a small smile. "You've got nothing to apologize for." What a short sentence. She was strangely quiet now, much different from her usual hyper self. Perhaps she was still in a bit of shock over recent events, but hopefully she'd return to her bubbly personality soon.

And then the smile faltered.

Quindrife was now stumbling over her own words as if she needed to reassure Tas about the fact that she was not hitting on her. Which made the way things were before Baston arrived confusing. It had seemed like she was flirting with her..hadn't it? Or was that all in her head? Wait..why did she care? She wasn't here looking for any kind of romance anyways. As soon as her arm was released, the girl scooped up the basket of glows and began to head down to the next glow the younger woman had pointed out. Jeez, she didn't really have any idea how to talk to a girl, huh?

"I have been told that before. My lad is quite easy to please." A smile flashed again, though she made sure that Quindrife couldn't see it. Tidus was rather easy to please. Feed him, bathe him, keep him well oiled and he was the happiest little blue in the world. Which reminded her...where was he anyways? Usually he'd be bothering her by now, making sure she wasn't hanging out with someone who could get her into dang- oh. He might not like Quin if he realized what had just happened.
