Sai smiled brightly looking up at the afternoon sky. The vast blue dotted with puffy white clouds. Sai was content to just lay in the grass and bask in the warm rays of the sun. His jacket and scarf seemed as though they would make him uncomfortable, but rather they provided protection from the heat, keeping his body at a comfortable temperature. With a happy sigh he lay his head down in the grass, his long pony tail twisting among the green blades of grass.

Taoshira watched as a butterfly landed on her nose for just a moment, making her go cross-eyed before it flew away. It seemed like her only form of entertainment today so she chased after it. Not really knowing where she was or where she was going, she continued to run and laugh after the insect. Only when it flew way up into the sky did she stop and look around. An adult horse was laying down in the grass. She hoped she hadn't disturbed him and started backing away quietly. She also hoped that she hadn't trespassed into his territory, that could be bad, she thought.

Sai's ears twitched picking up the sound of laughter. The sound was sweet and clear, bringing a soft smile to Sai's face. He lay there enjoying the happy sound more than he was the warmth of the sun. Then it stopped and he heard the soft sound of hooves moving away slowly, cautiously. He lifted his head from the grass and turned his head until his bright hazel eyes caught sight of the young, blue foal through the mess of hair that where his bangs. He offered a kind, closed eyed smile, blowing at the golden hair that hung in front of his eyes. "Why hello there little one." He greeted warmly as he shifted his position to better face the foal.

Taoshira stopped at the sound of his voice, but surprisingly, he didn't seem angry. Rather the opposite, she thought. She leaned forward to get a better look at him. His smile was nice and she liked his hair, though she couldn't see how he could wear those clothes and not be hot. "H-hi." She said timidly.

"I'm Sai. What may I call you?" He asked her brightly, tilting his head a bit to the side. He could see she was a bit shy, but he would undoubtedly have her opening up in no time. Sai was easy to get along with, so long as his often overly bright personality didn't bug you too much.

"My name is Taoshira...but you may call me Tashi if you like." Tashi said a little more bravely. He seemed nice enough and that he wasn't going to hurt her so she took a couple of cautious steps forward. She didn't mean to be rude, but she couldn't help but ask, "Aren't you hot in that?"

"Tashi it is then, nice to meet you." He said with a soft smile. He was happy that her voice sounded much more confident than it had the first time. He chuckled light heartedly at her question. "This? Na. After all it's white." He said with a bright laugh. Obviously just making up stuff trying to be silly.

Tashi did a mental shrug and closed the distance between them by half, still not wanting to get too close. "I'm sorry if I disturbed you Sir. I wasn't really paying attention to where I was going." I should really pay more attention...she said under her breath.

Sai beamed at Tashi as she halved the distance between them. Progress was progress. Sai gave small shake of his head. "No, no. You didn't bother me at all. I rather liked the sound of your laugh." He said his voice warm and sincere. "I was actually quite bored. Live up and went somewhere." He said with a grin.

Tashi nodded her head. If she could blush she would have, though in place of a blush, she swished her tail and looked away. "I too was quite bored until I found the butterfly...and then it flew away." She was sad that the butterfly flew away, mainly because it meant she had nothing to play with.

Sai chuckled lightly at Tashi's embarrassed reaction and gave her a soft smile as she spoke. "Ah, a butterfly huh. They are beautiful little creatures, so fun to watch." He said tossing his golden bangs out of his face, revealing the symbol on his forehead.

"They are fun to play with too!! Until they fly so high you can't follow them." Tashi said with a frown.
Then, when he moved his beautiful locks out of his face, she noticed a strange symbol on his forehead. She tried not to stare or ask any questions but she couldn't help but look at it and try to figure out what it was. Taoshira was never this impulsive but it seemed like there was something about Sai that just made her relax.

Sai chuckled softly. "Yes, they tend to do that." His voice light, yet understanding Tashi's feelings on the matter. He was glad that Tashi was feeling relaxed enough around him to express herself so plainly. He noticed her looking at his forehead. He gave her a bright, closed eyed smile. She was even trying not to stare, in spite of her curiosity. "You like it?" He asked naturally, referring to the mark.

Sai had caught her staring, Tashi realized, and quickly looked at the ground. "What is it?" She asked quietly. She really didn't mean to be rude, sometimes she just forgot to think before she acted.
He was being so nice to her and she didn't understand why. Maybe he was just like that. No matter the reason, she thought, it was still nice to have someone to talk to. She closed the distance to just a couple of feet before laying down facing him.
