I'll call them Xyz if someone can tell me what the hell Xyz means....
We went to two different Walmarts yesterday hoping they would have the starter deck available early, as the Walmarts sometimes do, but no luck.
Sad face...
Going to head back up there after class to check again today. Has anyone gotten theirs yet?
Speed Bird is going to be stupid broken with how popular dopple decks are.

Xyz is prnounced (ehks-seez). it's virtually the same thing. except without the "D". and i'm getting it just for Hope/ Utopia. He mad good.

Xyz is a dumb name that makes no sense! Exceed at least means something... any way I agree about Hope, hes pretty good, best Rank 4 so far. plus he's one of the coolest looking monsters i've seen in a while. He reminds me of Seraphimon form digimon. and because hes the main character signature card I'm guessing that he will have a bunch of advanced forms like Stardust does. So it'll be making a deck based around him down the road. I have a weakness for monsters that transform into cooler monsters. ...and as a Kingdom Hearts fan, I just have to have a Keyman!!! 3nodding

Xyz was the name to be given to it by it's creators and Exceed was just a random shot in the dark of what it might have been called. When Xyz Monsters were revealed in the OCG, they were mistakenly translated as "Exceed Monsters" by fans. Many translators acknowledged after the official term was revealed that "Xyz" was also a valid translation, but that they assumed it was not correct during the initial translation since it does not have any obvious pronunciation. The fact that it was meant to be pronounced "ik-seez" was not obvious from the katakana "エクシーズ", which has a romaji reading of "Ekushīzu" and the closest English equivalent to it was "Exceed".

So from now on instead of taking a few extra minutes to think of an appropriate name, Konami is just going to start throwing Random letters together when naming new monster types?
or should we be blaming 4Kids for this? stare
Grrr no starter decks until Thursday. Sad face...

PrismCity grr walmart still didn't have it today... why must you deny me!! Just pointing out that most wall-marts get there shipping on Thursdays.. and even so they wait a while. Targets get there Wednesdays and put the boxes right there for you can open and get it your self .. I would go tarza rather than Wallie-world. On a side note: The deck Starter is not that bad.. I have won with the deck with no edits off of ''Trident warrior'' and ''Key Man The Key Warrior.''or "Feedback Warrior"or "Shine knight"..But I did lose most of the time. When I edited the deck with a nether structure deck and cards of my own it was really dumb.. I continued to use the combo above but more often than before. The deck can be very good .. but "Gachi Gachi Gantetsu" is.. useless{as of now} in the build I have.. { I see him used in frogs mainly.}
