Welcome to our RP! Glad you could join us. I have a feeling this is going to be a blast, so I hope ya'll are ready for it. biggrin Btw, since this is my first RP that I've done, any feedback would be most appreciated! If you do wish to give me a tip on how to improve or on what I failed in, please do so in a PM so we don't clutter up the thread. Thanks!
Unless I specifically state it to be so, you can join in at any time as long as you read enough to get a good grasp on the storyline and what's going on.
Now, I'd like to set down a few rules before we start. These are not meant to be overly cumbersome or restrictive, but are meant to instead enhance the story.
* No Godmodding - (I may have to do some VERY limited godmodding to move the story along, but I will try to keep it to a bare minimum)
* No Swearing - I would like to see VERY little profanity (and no, darn, dang and heck don't count as profanity razz ). If you feel that swearing is something you need to do in order to portray your character correctly, then PM me and we will work through it.
* No Sexual Scenes - I think this is pretty self explanatory. Kissing/romantic scenes are okay (in fact, I encourage them: romantic attachments/scenes are a great way to add depth to a story), but no intercourse, kk? Nudity is not allowed either. Period.
* No Magic - Why? Well, it just doesn't fit, that's why. It would be kind of weird, given the storyline to have magical fairies and Santa Clause tramping around. xP
* No Precognition or Psychic Powers - I know that this is a rule of Advanced RP's, but I feel it's important here. Your character should only be capable of acting on what he/she has experienced.
* Spelling and Grammar is IMPORTANT - Hey, I know not everyone's perfect. I mess up with spelling/grammar too, just make sure to try hard to make things look professional.
* Please be literate - I would like at LEAST a paragraph for each post, except in very rare circumstances. I understand that sometimes there is some "stalling", when the plot runs a little thin (I pray this doesn't happen) or whatever, but it's a good goal to write at least a paragraph. If you don't have something significant enough to add to the RP as to take up at least a paragraph (about 4-6 sentences, normally), then don't post. Also, please don't write like *Sean looks at George* Well, things are going to tougher than we thought! Please do not do this. I would encourage you to write it as if you're writing a book, like this: Wearily, Sean looked up at his companion, George, and said with a small sigh, "Well then, I suppose things are going to be a lot tougher for us then, eh?" Remember to use quotation marks for speech.
* No spamming/flaming/trolling - This shouldn't be hard. I don't mind your character getting mad, but hey, have YOUR character get mad at THEIR character, and let's not let ourselves get mad at each other. If you have a dispute that you can't seem to figure out, PM me and I will sit down with the group of you and see if I can't sort things out.
Okay, that about does it. I'm sorry if these seem restrictive, but I firmly believe that they will significantly improve the quality of the story. Once again, please feel free to PM me with any concerns you have about the rules and I'd be happy to read them. biggrin
Before I let you post, however, I'd like to let lend you a few tips just for the heck of it. razz If you feel that you're up to the challenge, then just skip the next post (I would prefer you read it though).
