Evening classes went one of two ways. One, awake, alive and ready to take on whatever came the students way and two, tired bordering dead watching the clock feeling like life was wasting away. Today provided an interesting mixture of the two. The teacher had explained using creativity as a way of controlling the mind, getting in touch with your inner self, emotions and grasping technique. Liza stared at the blank canvas before her, studying the paints that decorated the narrow shelf at the bottom of it. Are we really painting? Fixing a questionable eye on the teacher, who was giving an example on a larger canvas at the front, she sighed. Sports, activity sure she could do that no problem. Arts... Not so much unless it involved a different style, say drama and dance.
despite her disinterest, she would give it a shot! Her eyes wandered around the room at the signal to start expressing ones self to spy what other witchlings were doodling on their open page. Most of them hopped straight to it, a green haired boy not far from her was fixated on the streets below the window, delicately stroking base coats down for the streets surrounding the academy then at the other side a girl with light brown hair however her gaze didn't linger on her long enough to see what she had done, only that it had sparked an idea. She thought of Moonfall, that one night where darkness ate up the last of the crimson skies, neon lights flooded the street one by one then, as she rounded the corner the joy that seeing him had brought.
Her heart raced, in her memory clouded the dull chatter of the room, sounding louder like everyone could hear it. She took a deep breath, picked up her brush and dipped it carefully in black, mixing colours that would create purple and so forth. She became so engrossed in it that that she didn't stop until the teacher clapped her hands so loud it startled her, making her flick her hand up. "oh no..." Her eyes followed the droplets, gulping as they splattered on the side of the girls face she had only taken a brief glimpse of earlier.
This couldn't end well. She got the feeling she was in for it. Usually she would have apologized but she brought her hands to her mouth, scoping the girl up and down in disbelief; too shocked to say anything. That was going to be one painin the rear to wash off...

"An Art class? Painting?! I swear I did not sign up for this," Aquene thought to herself as her teacher was talking. It annoyed her to no end that the teacher thought that painting was a good source of controlling the mind. It wasn't control! People painted what was in their mind! In a sense, the painting controlled the mind. "Stupid ideas," she mumbled under her breath. Aquene would of said it out loud, but she couldn't risk getting kicked out of the Academy, else, she would be stuck with her so called 'family'.
She picked up a brush and dipped the brush into water and then black paint, making hard, defiant strokes onto her canvas. If she was going to paint, then at least she could make it as ugly and pointless as she wanted. Her painting ended up having circles of white from the canvas that were not painted, making it look as though she had painted a black night and bright white stars. Concentrating on what she was doing, she didn't notice that someone had peeked at her 'masterpiece' to start on their own. If she had known, Aquene probably would of glared at put that girl in her place.
The teacher clapped their hands, signaling them all to stop. She look at what she had did and wondered. "What a waste of time.... At least I didn't have to spend money on this stuff."
Aquene had been looking forward to the end of class until the girl near her splashed some paint onto her face and at the top of her school uniform. She blinked a few times, unaware of how she should feel, but then she slowly started to get more and more angry. "What the freak do you think you're doing? The clap was a signal to stop, not to paint on the person next to you!"
Before she could say another word, the teacher spoke up. announcing her name to the class as well as the fact that what Liza did was an accident. Aquene didn't really care though. She was just fuming and decided to shut her mouth, at least, for now.
