Captain Fluorite was patrolling - gathering energy just as she looked out for either lieutenants that looked like they needed help, or senshi that needed a beating.

Sure, she sucked at throwing her knives, but that didn't mean they still couldn't cut.

She was leaning against the back alley of a bar, draining a little out of all those who stumbled by. She really loved the ******** out of gathering energy like this - it was so damn easy !

Well, compared to dragging people in alleys.

It was when she felt a lieutenant's aura come in her range that she opened her eyes - who might this be ?

Chase didn't know what had drawn him to the club, perhaps it was the pulsing beat or the lure of alcohol or more likely the constant throb of people to leech off of. Yeah, it was probably that mixed with the simple fact that clubs were often the only place you could find a bunch of civilians late at night. He did all of his 'activities' in the late hours, they were his favorite time of day.

He wasn't far from the club when he ducked into an abandoned alley way and powered up opting to keep his weapon in the subspace. He had no use for it in a situation like that, it would probably draw too much unwanted attention. It didn't take him long to slither into the bar and onto the dance floor where it seemed like girls flocked to him.

It was easy, dancing with the girls while siphoning a bit on energy here and there from them but it wasn't long before he got bored and left the floor and made to leave the bar when he spotted a head of purple hair. He paused, studying her before he started towards her. He knew her right?

The source of said aura was making itself clear now - and it wasn't long before she saw him come toward her.

"Over here." She said to help him pin-point her actual location, and then she smilled. "Good evening." She had to look up at him, but she was used to such things. In spite of her superior rank, she seemed rather approachable.

"How's the night going, lieutenant... ?" This was more of an excuse to ask for his name than an actual attempt to pull rank.

He recognized her by her purple hair and her lack of height. He had never actually met her before but he knew her name, her nega name easily and it slipped off his tongue without second thought. "Fluorite." He blinked before sliding a hand through his hair correcting his speech. "Captain Fluorite," he repeated careful to include he rank, he had to show his respect to the higher ranking officer and nodded in greeting.

"Ah," he mumbled suddenly aware that she was seeking his name. "Labyrinthite," he introduced himself offering the shorter girl a smile. "The night's been kind to me," he replied sticking a hand in his pant pocket to fish out a few of the energy orbs he had collected. "Clubbing makes it easy," he told her glancing back behind them.

"What about you?" He asked trying to keep the conversation light. He knew she knew Kaia, er Alkaid and a part of him was dying to ask her how the blond was but he bit his tongue. No, now probably wasn't the best time. It'd probably just make things awkward.

Awkward was bad.

He knew her name, apparently, and it made a purple eyebrow rise in curiosity. Famous for the good reasons, she could only hope ?

Labyrinthite... She'd heard that name somewhere, she was certain, but where ? Oh... Probably just overheard in a meeting. Truth was, she was indeed close friends with Alkaid, but there were also things they did not often talk about. Alkaid very rarely went into details with her private life, and Fluorite could respect that.

As it was, he probably knew more of her than he did of him. "Bars are a really handy place to gather energy, really. They're all buzzed anyway so they hardly notice." It was harder for the captain to go inside, but she could certainly wait at the door.

"Im doing pretty good, was about to move on. Do you want to patrol with me tonight ? I could use the company."

Kaia and Chase had never really talked much about their personal lives, not often and mostly because Chase had shut her out of the aspect of his life but Ashley and Fluorite had been mentioned more than a few times. Now, he had the privilege of becoming acquainted with her. "I have to agree with you there, no one notices if someone happens to pass out on the dance floor. Most attribute it too a drink too many or simply dancing too long," he shrugged. "Either way, makes for easy collecting," he said grinning broadly feeling the energy orbs clinking in his pocket.

"Sure, can never pass up the chance to patrol with a pretty girl," he told taking a couple steps towards her. He wasn't hitting on her by any means, his tone and smile weren't flirty enough but he didn't pass up the chance to compliment her even if it did come out flirtier than he intended.

"I don't usually patrol with someone," he paused brow furrowing as he spoke, "so this will be nice."

"Yeah, through going inside is a little hard for me. Just wait on 'em at the door... I don't even need to touch them now. Just grap a little from them as they pass by." It was amazing, really. There was a long list of things Fluorite loved about being a captain, and this was easily near the top.

His comment got a raised eyebrow out of the short girl, and little more. It was a good thing he wasn't looking for a flirt, because he really wasn't her type. At all. Hell, how long had it been since she'd flirted with well... Anything.

The woman at the bar with Ever didn't count.

"Paroling with someone is usually a good idea, especially when you're starting out." She moved to jump on a trash container, and from there, scale her way to the roof. "It took..." Her face turned into a pensive frown. How many patrols had it been before Schee had set her loose ? "About a week of patroling every night before my then-captain let me go alone ? Through, you definitively don't look like you're just starting out, so I don't think I need to worry here, hmm ?"

He listened, interested in the way she explained how she gathered energy. It sounded pleasant, being able to drain energy without physical contact. Got less looks and pointed glares that way, probably. Plus it sounded cool, add it to one of the hundred reasons he wanted to rank up already. Things would be better, easier then.

"I've never been one that's been good with orders," he replied feigning a sheepish grin. "Or rules, I'm getting better though, I swear," he joked his usual grin back on his face. "Nah, not very new any more," he nodded bringing his hands together so he could crack his knuckles.

"Do prefer company though, it gets a little boring when you're on your own especially when you don't find anything to," he paused his thoughts drifting to civilians then senshi. "Anything to do."

"That's good then. You don't even want to imagine some of the lieutenants I ended up picking up for the night..." Some of them didn't even know a damn thing, and all she could truly do is offer the basics, point them to the right resources, and let them fly.

She just hoped nothing happened to them. They were badly outnumbered enough already.

"Usually finding something to do isn't a problem for me, through maybe im just... lucky." Ha. Hahaha. Yeaaaaah. Let's leave it at that.

He laughed lightly as he shrugged. He luckily hadn't been one of those lieutenants, not yet anyway. He was a bit on a high when it came to fights though at the big fight at the warehouse, well that time he'd been knocked out but thankfully someone removed him from the fray before things got complicated and messy. He'd been careful as to not have a repeat, yet.

He grinned nodding, "Yeah pretty sure those senshi are like flies. No matter where you turn there's one just around the corner." Of course he did have a couple of nights where he had made it without even glimpsing a senshi. Though at the same time he hated those night, if only because he liked the adrenaline rush that came when fighting. He was a masochist in that regard.

"I'm pretty good at finding trouble myself, though mostly as a civilian rather than...this," he told her gesturing to his pink and blue uniform.

Truth was, they all had these moments. It was inevitable. Fluorite had nearly drowned smack dab in Blood Moon territory, which wasn't much better.

With the enemies they fought, close calls were inevitable. It was a matter of survival and learning, really, and some... didn't seem to be learning fast enough for Fluorite's personal tastes.

She did not need to see more death among their rank, but it was inevitable.

"It's like you can't do a sharp turn in this city without smacking a senshi." She huffed. Senshi on their sides she was at least tolerant of, depending on personalities, but the others ? Yeah. No love there.

"Im pretty good at sliding by unnoticed." A self-joke at her height ? Perhaps. "I get more noticed as Fluorite, really."

"It's awful," he commented a bit sarcastically because, in truth, he loved this part of his life. Without senshi, there would be little to no reason for it and knowing that let him with an uneasy feeling in the pit of his stomach. He shrugged when she mentioned that as a civilian, she was practically invisible. "Yeah, what with energy signals and whatnot," he mumbled more to himself than to her.

"I had a tendency to..." he trailed off trying to find the best way to describe his thrill-seeking habits to the captain. "Go looking for trouble rather than waiting for it to find me, I still do," he admitted glancing down ever so briefly. "Can't tell you how many times I've ran from the cops or got caught by them," he chuckled thinking back fondly to his sporadic games of golf and his various prank pulling antics.

"Definitely infuriated my dad, he always hated that I was bit of a wild child," he shrugged folding his hands behind his head as the strolled along. "Never good enough for him though, even when he had me right where he wanted me."

Fluorite couldn't help but grow more and more amused as he continued to speak. "I haven't had much problems with that, unless getting caught underage in bar counts..."

...It probably did. Oh well.

"Some people are never happy." She shrugged. "It's not worth bothering to cater to them, especially when we have much more important things to do."
PostPosted: Sat Sep 17, 2011 12:04 pm

"Definitely counts," he grinned, chuckling softly. "Had that happen a couple times, it's the worst yeah?" He shook his head as he glanced down at the pavement. "Helps if you make friends with the bouncers and stuff, they're more inclined to let you in. Gotta a bar where I've got a nice in at," he nodded dropping his arms at the statement. It was the bar he had recently spent a majority of his time at, that was before he suddenly went sober.

Alcohol was definitely not the answer to his problems but he had known that going in.

The changes he had made, though spuratic, were definitely for the best. While he wasn't happy per say, it was better than the tyrannical raid that his father had imposed upon him. "How very true," he mused with a soft smile. "Ah, yeah. Definitely got a much bigger picture to look and focus on now. Definitely more important by any means."

Completely and totally.

"It is. Have you seen me ?" Honestly. "The bouncers don't even fall for my fake ID most of the time ! I need to magically grow 10 inches or something."

Wouldn't that be amazing ? Sigh.

And heavens knew they had a very important job to do. "I hear ya..."
