Stretching from under a tree, Ayunken-vanzan decided it was time to get up and do some work. He had ventured from his pride for a while out in hunting something. Though, hadn't actually found anything to bring back. He wasn't going to go back until he at least got something. It'd make him look completely stupid if he did that. He had to bring back food.
His pride was all leopards. They hated anything that wasn't leopards and found that hybrids were bad. Though Ayunken never understood it. He didn't find any of it bad. But he wasn't going to say that. He didn't want to be pushed out of the pride. His family was there... All he knew was there. Though, he didn't mind tricking them and saying that he didn't have any interest in them at all. What could that hurt?
What they didn't know, didn't hurt them. He had become a pretty good liar too. He practiced on his sister for the longest time. Even if she disappeared and left the pride for some male. All his other siblings ended up staying, at least. If they had left, he would have too. No reason to stay in a place where family wasn't.
He moved from his lazy spot under a tree after stretching. Moving away from it, he looked back at it once, yawned, and continued. Life was boring, he needed some sort of excitement. He didn't know where to look for that. He had come many times away from his pride to catch things, but not once had anything popped up to make his life exciting. It made him slightly angry.

A slightly distended belly and a bit of blood still around the mouth, was the sign of a successful hunt, especially for a lone lioness. True, Funanya knew she would get more success in hunting if she had brought some other lionesses with her from the pride, but as the nanny, it wasn't really her job. Besides, there was just some times she wished to be away from the pride and not have to take care of the many cubs that seem to be present. This was one of those times.
So now, after feeding and having a brief rest afterward, she strolled the plains. She padded softly through the grass, watching as a few impala did their warning bounds through the grass. She giggled to herself as she wondered if they were warning the others because of her, or was there another predator about. That thought lead to slight worry. A single leopard or cheetah wasn't too much of a bother, but if it was another lion or a pack of wild dogs, or even hyenas, then she would be in trouble. Not wanting to risk it, she quickened her pace and trotted away from the area.
Finally, she came to a small patch of trees. Her tail flicked, quite happy at the thought of some cool shade. With little hesitation, she made her way toward the shade, not quite catching if there were others in the area or not.

Ayunken had been watching her the moment she stepped into his view. He had stopped completely the moment he did see her. It seemed she had no interest in him, or perhaps didn't even notice. Which was odd, his blue was bright enough to attract anyone to look in his direction. Or at least, that's what he thought. He had spotted her easy enough. Her light fur made it easy. Seeing as most things were green, and not white, gray, or black. He had been on the edge, far enough away from his pride, of the forest he lived.
He raised a brow before moving towards her. He was taught to not respect anything but other leopards. Or at least, that's what his pride wanted him to do. But, he had other thoughts in mind. His tail flicked about as he moved towards her. Curious, and cautious. He wanted to believe that the pride was right, but he also knew that perhaps it wasn't all the same. His mother had told him about his grandma having hybrid siblings, and that some lions weren't so bad. Though, he didn't know if he truly believed it. Not until, of course, he found out for himself.

Funanya kept moving ahead, without a care in the world, her pride was far from her mind by now. Something moving in the corner of her eye caught her attention. Stopping, she looked in the direction and gazed at the blue figure heading toward her. Her ears perked as she watched the other curiously. By the way they were acting, they weren't being threatening, but she was still a little cautious.
As the other got closer, she could start putting bits and pieces together. For one, it was a leopard. Nothing new to her, most of her pride seemed to consist of leopards. Most of all, the pride's king was a leopard. He was an extreme case of a leopard and she hoped that this one wasn't like Thona. A small shudder came at the thought, but she still had to be grateful, he allowed her to join the pride and give her a home. But she digresses. Returning her attention back to the other, it began to become known to her that this other was a male. There was a small hint of worry, though nothing too serious. With a flick of her tail, she slowly moved toward the leopard, studying him for any signs of problems.

A smirk crossed his face. He was happy to see it was a female, though little less happy to see it was a lion. Ayunken wasn't the type to care too much about breeds of creatures, even though his pride frowned upon inter-species romance. He didn't find it too bad though, he was a rebel. All his siblings had went their separate ways, except him; staying with his mother.
"Well, hello there" He said with a gentle greeting, he didn't want to scare her after all. "Are you lost?"

The lioness smiled in greeting as she approached the leopard. Being used to other leopards in her pride, she wasn't surprised that the male didn't seem nervous as she approached, especially since other lions do attack and eat anything that would be a form of competition. She herself showed no bias to any species, big or small.
As he greeted her, she came to a stop a short distance from him and bowed her head to him. "Hello there," she replied softly, tail flicking gently behind her, "no, I am not lost. I thank you for your concern though."

Ayunken-vanzan seemed almost disappointed to hear that she wasn't lost. Pitty, he could have led her somewhere that was no where she wanted to go. Of course there was still a chance of fooling her, or perhaps he didn't need to do that at all. He liked her, yet he knew his pride would never accept if they found out. They hated anything that wasn't a leopard. Cross cubs were an abomination to them. His mother didn't feel the same, yet his father was here.
He didn't share the same notion as them, yet he didn't have the heart to leave the pride. His mother was there, after all. He smiled at her. "Well, that's quite good then. Wouldn't want a damsel in distress, now would we?" He asked with a smirk.
He looked about, he was sure no one from his pride was anywhere close to here. They'd kill him if they ever found out. Which he planned to never let them.

The lioness had no problem with the male leopard in front of her. The slightly smaller cat was a common sight in her pride, in fact, she believed most of the pride consisted of leopards. Because of this fact, she was quite comfortable around him, even despite him being a stranger. She had to wonder what her pride would think if they were to see her, though she believed she had free reign to meet anyone she wanted... or was that worship any god or goddess she wanted? She had lost track of everything with all the cubs she had to watch.
Whatever the case was, she wasn't going to think too much on it as she smiled to the male before her. At his question, she shook her head, giggling softly. "No, not at all." She answered softly, tail tuft flicking softly. "May I ask what you are doing on a lovely day like this?"
When she saw him look about, almost instinctual, her ears perked and looked about as well. Perhaps he saw a threat, or maybe some food. Whichever the case, she didn't want to be unprepared. "Do you see something?"

He could tell her the truth, or he could make it more interesting. He pondered that for a moment before answering. "I was hunting." He spoke finally. That seemed like a good reason to be away from the pride. "Well, taking a break from hunting." Of course, it didn't matter about adding that or not. He gazed at her to get a better look. She was quite pretty for a lion. Of course, he shouldn't be thinking any of that.
"I would be cautious coming around this area, for there is a pride here that doesn't approve of lions." Or cheetahs for that matter, but he didn't need to bring that up. Nor did he know why he even said that. Of course, he could pretend he wasn't apart of said pride, but he smelled almost like everyone else. Anyone with good sense of pride smells would know he would be lying. "But I could show you away around it to where you'll be out of any issues." He offered. Perhaps that'd get him on her good side?

She smiled when he told her he was hunting, or at least, taking a break from hunting. "Oh? Any luck?" She asked with a soft tilt of her head. The lioness was always intrigued about others hunting styles. She knew her own, which was similar to many other lions. She had heard that cheetahs use speed to catch their prey, but leopards, to be honest, she had no idea on how they hunted... surprisingly since most of her pride consisted of leopards.
At his caution, she quirked a brow curiously. A pride that didn't like lions? Well, she guessed everyone had their dislikes, so she couldn't judge, it was just a surprise. "Oh, that's unfortunate, I did not know." This is rather true, she is rather sheltered in her pride. In fact, she was so sheltered, she didn't know many of the other prides or their smells. She herself smelled of cubs, she would always tease herself that she didn't have her own individual smell anymore. At his offer to lead her to a safer location, she smiled, tail swishing softly. "That would be quite nice. Thank you."

He wanted to be mean to her, but that wouldn't get him anywhere. Wasn't it obvious he wasn't doing good? He didn't have anything, after all. Even if it wasn't the truth, it'd be a little obvious on how he was doing. "Can't say I'm doing good" He said with a smirk. He wasn't much of a hunter, but he got lucky at times. His blue fur seemed to not work so well with camouflage.
He was hoping for that answer. It made him smirk and he stood up. "Well, m'lady, just follow me, when you're ready of course" he said with a small incline of his head. He was curious about lions, but he didn't want to make it obvious. He had to play it cool. He flicked his tail and waited for her to reply to him. He didn't want to leave without her being ready, what type of example would that make him? She was a pretty little thing, he'd hate to upset her.

She frowned softly when he had said that he hadn't had much luck hunting. It didn't last long as it was soon replaced with a look of a helpful mother, giving her cubs the determination. "Well, it's not too bad. At least it gives your the opportunity to learn from what has happened. The point is to not let yourself give up." She told him, tail flicking happily.
At his invitation, she nodded softly and stood up soon after he did. Her tail flicked behind her for a moment as she waited. "Lead the way." She replied gently.

She was strange, he figured. Flicking his long leopard tail as he moved in front of her. Leading her away from his pride. He will never understand why they had so much hatred for other creatures that weren't leopards. He'd ask, but he was afraid it was against the rules of the pride. His mother didn't tell him much of it, as she wasn't originally from the pride. His father.... had disappeared, and so far hasn't returned.
"I suppose, I could learn, but you can't learn from something when there isn't that something to learn from." he told her. Even though he hadn't been hunting at all, if he had, he wouldn't have found anything. "If that makes sense?" he gave a shrug as he continued to lead the way.

She kept following after him, unaware that it was away from a pride that detested her kind. Blissfully oblivious, she enjoyed the day and the present company so far. At his comment about not being able to learn when there's nothing around made her giggle. "Well, then you haven't been looking really, or you gave up too easy." She said with a slight swish of her tail, "but, it's not my place to tell you how to hunt."
