Roch groaned, grabbing the piece of paper he'd been doodling notes on and tearing it into pieces. This wasn't working out. Nothing he wrote down turned out how he heard it in his head. Then again, he thought, he had no experience composing whatsoever.
He needed help. He ran a hand over his face and let out a grunt, standing and looking around his room. Nothing here was going to help him, but he knew someone that might be able to. Not that he was really looking forward to it, or anything.
He headed for the closet door, which JD had skipped out through a few minutes before, and closed it. He didn't want his cat running around wild while he was gone. Glancing at where Riff was sleeping on a pair of his boxers on the bed-- (Seriously, how did he get the perverted fairy? She kept trying to climb down his pants!) and shrugged, heading out the door.
"Now... where was that guy's room?" Roch said quietly, looking in any and all doors that were open. He had to be somewhere, right?

Joachim glared as the stack of papers that were once resting on stand laid strewed across the floor as a guilty looking white mouse huddled on the shelf pointing at another. The room was far too small for his liking as the reaper started to rub his temple with his free hand before resting the silver B foot flute across his bed. They were driving him nuts all of his little mice huddled into one room and of course each of them with so much energy and no where to spend it other than destroying the random teacups or disorganizing sheets of music leaving him playing half of Bachues with Mouzre to finish.
There was the option of opening the door and letting them run freely in the halls but considering the incident with the mongrel of a cat like creature the thought was shoved from his mind.
"Jack……… what the hell am I going to do with you….. and Phorum that isn't food it belongs to Loes so give it back to her," He snapped rubbing his temples again as a crash of a bag of tea bags scattered on top of the sheets of music.
"ARRRGGHHH…………….," Standing up quickly Joachim crammed his feet into a pair of heeled white with gold trimmed boots as the familiar shape of the black colored mouse scrambled towards him.
"No. No Merel your staying here as well," He didn't even bother taking the time to look to see if she had listened to him as he swung the door open and slamming it shut behind him.

"Hey!" Roch said as he saw the other reaper step out of his room. "Jo! I was just looking for you." He jogged up to Joachim, then pulled to a stop, looking a bit sheepish. "You're not busy, are you? Cuz I can ask at some other time. I didn't even think about you havin' to do something."
This kid was like him, he thought. In a weird, Bizzaro world type way. They were opposites, the whole cat mouse thing, but they were both from musical reaper families, and both expected to use that music to reap souls--or wait, was this guy a grim reaper or something else? Oh well, didn't matter, right?

The familiar sight of the poorly dressed reaper seemed to appear on cue of making his day from bad to even worse. He was sure Roch was going to tell him something like one of his mouse showed up in his room or something far worse like one of them ended up half mangled in the mouth of his mongrel. He tried to scramble together which of his mice he had seen earlier but he couldn't remember all of who he had seen.
"Errr... no... I am not busy I was just trying to get some time.... away from my room. What do you need?" Joachim attempted to muster up a smile as he heard another crash of a teacup fall in his room.

"I was just ah..." He felt like an idiot for having to ask. "Look, we're both musical reapers, right? But you've got more experience with the composing part than I do, and I was kinda hoping you'd... I dunno, give me a hand learning how to?"
Yeah, they sure as jack didn't look like they had anything in common, did they? "I was thinking we could go to that massive library of theirs and look at their composition books or something, and you could... I dunno, get something out of it as well. And just in case you're wondering, I'm not asking for a date or anything. I'm straight." Oh, yeah, that was a classy way to make a friend. Jacktard. "But it'd be away from your room, right?"

A date? Why would he think helping out someone learn composing be a date? Weird. He had little to interest in dating more or less he still couldn't get over the whole red as blood face whenever anyone touch him especially a ghoul. Why the jackhell would he want to date this boil? At least when Roch mentioned the whole blushing thing didn't happen.
"Sure.............. I could use a break to the library and pick up a few books" He paused look at his door for a moment and back at Roch, "here let me get a something that would be of help. " He swung the door open ignoring the scurrying of a rather guilty mouse before he picked up satchel next to his bed. Tucking it under his arm he slammed his door shut and gave the boil a nod.
"By the way I am called a Pied Piper reaper, and no I don't think helping you compose would be a date let alone I wouldn't consider the library and teaching anyone a date like activity.... more or less maybe something a friend would do." Joachim wasn't sure if this boil was a friend or not but he at least was pleasant for the most part if that didn't include his clothes. On the brighter note he was just as awkward with conversations as he was.

"It's good to have that all worked out," Roch said. "I mean, it's just when lookin' at a boil dressed like you are I kinda worry about leading him on accidentally or something," he said, shoving his hands in his pockets.
"So if you're a pied piper, does that mean you're not a grim reaper?" he asked, having now dismissed the "he ain't gonna hit on me, is he?" problem and moved on to more interesting things. "It means you're... what, good at controlling animals with your FEAR music?" He thought about it for a long moment, a tiny frown pulling at his face with his concentration.
"That could be handy..."

Joachim stared in utter confusion as he furrowed his brows and deepen his frown, the way he dressed? Oh bloody mary! How was his appearance and clothing have anything to do……….. candlejack Roch thought he looked like a ghoul didn't he. Argh he felt the need to rub his temples to ease the pain this was worse than dealing with the mice in the room. He never felt that he dressed ghoul more or less but something of a respectable figure, it wasn't like his clothing was any different from his father or grandfather. He felt as if he was insulted, or maybe his whole family was insulted he couldn't tell.
"I dress like the rest of my family respectable not in…. rags, besides I have little interest in dating you or really anyone else," Reassuring the boil that he had no interest in him romantically whatsoever.
"A pied piper is a type of grim reaper, and we are able to control animals to a degree with our music however it is more or less summoning larger crowds of them and requesting . The real purpose of a pied piper reaper is really not to use our music for animals, though it is much easier to start out that way, is to lure away souls with our music. The better we are the more souls we can reap to an extent," The thought of his grandfather playing tunes and luring away an entire village of children was one of the better examples, that was if Joachim believed such wild stories they told him.

"Huh," Roch said. "So you draw the souls out with the music, then reap them," he summed up for himself. "Yeah, that makes sense. I bet I could use something like that, too. Except I've never really tried to control animals or anything," he admitted. "The one thing I can do is make people ah... feel a little sick." Which was pathetic.
"But I figure with some work I can learn to use other chords to do s**t, y'know?" he went on, feeling more positive. "Like what'd really be useful is to just take the FEAR with one chord. That way I could put together a song that did the whole thing for me... I guess. Maybe if I could amplify it some I could reach a ton of people at the same time."

“Pretty much,” The boil nodded however he liked his way of explaining it more so than Roch’s it seemed a little more purposeful? “Sick?... hrrmm…” Most Pied Piper reapers could control some sort of animal it was a little doubtful that the boil with the guitar was one however there was a good possibility he had a different kind of a way of reaping with music. His family would know more however maybe not all families were like his?
“We can try getting you to learn other chords, do you know which tunes, songs, or so forth affects others already? I mean I have to play a certain song for any of my skills to work playing just a few notes out of the song isn’t as effect as the whole.” Really if he wanted help in progressing his fears Joachim would need to know more on what specifically music wise did his effect. “As for amplifying the more volume the better for the most part,” adding crescendos after a calm was a wonderful way to catch and amplifying tunes.

"My guitar's got a built in amp," Roch told him. "But I figure when I get stronger I might be able to make it even more powerful," he added, thoughtfully. "But..."
He didn't want to ask his old man how he did it. That would be giving in, and giving in made him feel vaguely sick to his stomach. "I kinda just did the sick thing by accident one day," he admitted.
"I got really pissed off at this guy, and you know, channeled a bit of FEAR through the chord, and next thing you know everyone around me started gagging, a couple of them even threw up. I can only do it with a minor chord, too, which really sucks. But can't you imagine what a major chord would do? And if just one chord has that power, think of what you could do with an entire song of chords that have different ones!"
....... Is that what his old man had?
