The third son of Kane and Ayame Konaga, Katsuro was their first child to live longer than a week. Growing up in the village of Sunagakure, Katsuro's parents instilled within him a deep sense of loyalty to the village, and to the people that lived there. Though he joined the academy at a late age, at the request of his parents, Katsuro always dreamed of the day when he would be able to wear the head-band that would mark him as a true shinobi of the sand. Now that he has graduated, Katsuro hopes to make his mark on the world, proving to himself and his village that he will be a great asset to Sunagakure.
