It had been a long time since Tony had last had some time to visit the water's edge. Mostly because it was out of the way and he just never had the time to take a day and go out to hang by the water.

Most of the time, he never even thought about it.

But he had two days off. He just got his arm out of its cast. He was feeling good, and he thought he might as well enjoy the last of his rather forced vacation. The library higher ups, who only popped into his life when they felt compelled to make it harder, had ordered him to rest when they saw his arm go from regularly broken to even more so with a sling. They thought he had been working too hard.

That was probably true, but it wasn't the library that was responsible. Camelot simply did not like taking days off, now that he had this new duty. There were people to protect, a city to defend, and fellows in arms to fight for.

But in the middle of a nice, sunny day, it seemed alright to recover his strength, take his dog to the cool waterside, and relax. Dogby was on her leash, padding around on her stumpy legs, looking around and sniffing everything she could get her nose close to. The corgi looked like she was in heaven, though she didn't know what to think of the water.

"Old man doesn't even know what he's talking about. He just keeps going on about pledges and planets .. Ask him what he's talking about and he doesn't know a damned clue." Sedna very nearly threw his phone into the water. Not that it would have been much of a loss when one considered the cheap flip phone but it would have been a loss on Sedna's wallet.

The blue haired male laid there on the edge of the docks that stood closer to the deep water's gaze than the beach did, shaking his head.

Sedna hadn't noticed that there was another person keeping him company on the beach, plus one companion, deciding to take the alternative way and throw his phone against the wood instead, landing near his towel. He had been told that phrase when he was young but nobody in the family had a clue of what the phrase meant anymore. Bits and pieces of the phrase had been lost through translation and well .. It was just an old sentence in Sedna's family now. He had no clue why they clung to it.

"I'm busy just trying to get jobs. Like some old family fairy tale's gonna help me."

Dogby barked eagerly when she saw and heard the phone land nearby on the dock, tugging at her leash as hard as a stumpy legged corgi could. Which was, as Tony found, surprisingly hard. The lead slipped from his hand and she darted off, shoveling a ditch in the very soft earth around the banks as she chugged her way through it on her mission to get what she assumed was a shiny toy.

"Dogby, no!" Tony hurried after her, struggling to catch the leash as it flopped along the almost muddy, soft ground, pulling just out of his finger's reach each time he bent for it. He was going to topple face first into the dock if he wasn't too careful.

And he wasn't.

"Ahh!"

Dogby, phone in mouth, looked at Tony, who was laying face first on the dock and decidedly against moving for a moment, then at Sedna. She began to wag her stump of a tail, her tongue lulling out to the side around the phone as she looked up at the young man.

"Oh."

Perhaps, the most noncommital reaction to the appearance of a man who had given him a not-so-entertaining-but-it-was-mildly-actually show. It wasn't often one got to see a grown man trip face flat, at a zero point radius. Staring briefly at the scene, his head turned upside down to view at the animal in an upside-down view, Sedna's body arched to hold out both hands above his head towards the dog.

"Sit. And return. The phone, that's what I'm talking about. Your leash, you can keep." Sedna spoke to the corgi, noting that said corgi didn't have much of a height advantage, even with her owner face flat.

Poor poor Corgi.

"Dude, you really shouldn't be tripping on the docks. You never know what shark might jump out and eat your buddy. Ever seen that movie where an eagle takes the puppy? Might happen to you, man."

"You're probably right about that," Tony mumbled, at length. He was very slow, not sure that it was worth risking movement so soon, lest something else happen. He was already thoroughly embarrassed.

Dogby watched Sedna keenly, blinking at him.

She opened her mouth to bark at him, dropping the phone into his hands as she did so. She didn't know commands, per se, though she was a good dog and she did pick things up when Tony was trying to teach her. Sort of.

Wagging her stump of a tail, Dogby investigated this new friend, trying to figure out the optimal way to greet him properly. Which would be with lost of licks.

Tony pushed himself up after a moment more, pulling himself into a sitting position. He sighed. "Sorry about that. Did you say an eagle took a puppy?"

"Good dog! Oh man, I feel awesome. Never says more for a man's character when a dog loves him-- You're pretty well trained!" Sedna rolled over on his stomach, extending his arm to pet the small dog with just the right amount of lavishness.

"The proposal. Didn't you see, the eagle took the puppy? Just swooped in, grabbed the dog. Had to trade a cell phone for the puppy back-- Don't let a shark take your puppy because a shark has no use for a cell phone. It wont be a good trade there."

Nevermind that the movie had probably cg-ed or used some sort of special effects for the scene. Sedna thought it was plausible. If there was a great white shark, who's to say, it didnt enjoy the taste of puppies?

Dogby was certainly adoring the attention. She tried to lick his hand and rub against it, trying to get all the attention she could out of the simple gesture of petting her. She was very easy to please in one way, that she loved being pet and cared for above all else, but difficult in that she never tired of it.

Ever.

Tony frowned thoughtfully.

"I must have missed that one. I'm not that good with movies... uhm. I think she'll be fine. There... don't seem to be any eagles... around here." He cleared his throat. "Or sharks."

Now he was nervous, and he scooted to pick Dogby up. Just in case.

"Uhm... are you... fishing? Or... what are you... uhm..."
PostPosted: Sun Sep 04, 2011 11:46 pm

"Fishing in this area? It's likely I wouldn't catch any big ones anyways. I'm doing a little bit of this and that." Sedna moved to straighten up, in a sitting posture, the phone placed precariously near his elbow. His elbow lifted, his feet shortly taking it's place when sitting in a crossed-leg position. Unfortunately, Sedna's foot was a little larger than his elbow, effectively knocking the phone over the dock.

Not his phone. If nothing else, his phone was valuable for work reasons--- It was his only item of value, one of the latest touch screen phones, keeping his work and schedule. It was invaluable data lost. To Sedna, it was practically death. A strange arching of his back turning towards the water, his hand grabbing his phone, his feet thrown off by the weight and bent in the air--

-- he got it!

But Sedna didn't make it. Throwing his phone to the male with the dog onto the somewhat dry dock, it's white screen blinking with the riddle that his family had texted, It read, if one looked at the screen, three single words.

"A knight's pledge."

Meanwhile, the blue-haired male landed somewhere within the deep pier water, murky with algae. it was expected that the male reappear in several seconds but the lack of splashing indicated he didnt. Had he been weighed down or caught by something?

Tony listened in wonder, though he didn't have much of a chance to ask if the fishing was bad around here, or if Sedna was just admitting to being a bad fisherman, before he heard the distinctive plop of phone hitting water.

That phone as not having a good day.

"Oh, no!" Tony yelped in surprise as a much larger splash followed soon after the phone. He caught the phone on instinct, as it was flying toward him so he didn't have much choice. It was either catch it or get hit in the face. He glanced at the phone and saw the strange text, and it only reminded him of his own duties.

He looked around and saw no one around. He had to take the chance. He powered up and left the phone with Dogby. Tony could say he ran off to find help. Dogby sat down, wagging the stump of her tail as she watched her master leap into the water after Sedna.

He wasn't much of a swimmer, but he had to do something: he couldn't let the young man drown. He looked around the murky water, searching.

Something about the water-- Besides the fact, it wasn't his choice of saltwater and had a slightly more disgusting composition than others, there was something else about it. There was something warm within the cold flow of water, expecting his entire frame to be bombarded with the normal wave of chilled density.

But there was something warm in his palm. Sedna's palms closed around the object, wondering if it had been floating in the water .. and into his palm? Really? There was something abornamlly hard within the soft folds of a wet cloth, although it didn't feel like a wet cloth. Not like his shirt or pants when soaked but like a waterproof sort of material. If he wasn't mistaken, was it a glove? Who dropped their kitten mitts in this sort of water?

Before he had more time to think and drown, he felt something grip around his wrist. A dark hazy shape in the murky water vaguely resembled a human silhouette, the grip prompting Sedna to rip his foot out from the algae that had caught it. Damn, the plants were thick around the lower areas, Sedna cursed mentally, jerking his leg free .. with a little bit of seaweed souvenir.

The knight, as he had managed to power up after diving into the water, kicked his feet and swam as hard as he could to catch up to the sinking young man. His eyes weren't used to trying to peer through murky water, and he was very aware of that at the moment.

He could barely see anything.

He managed to grab hold of the young man, though, and kicked his legs hard in an effort to free him from whatever seemed to be gripping him. Seaweed, it seemed, though Camelot wasn't too concerned about that just now.

He pulled Sedna from the water, spurting as his head broke the surface as well. with a few less than graceful splashes, he helped the young man toward dried land. He hadn't taken a moment to look at the boy he was trying to rescue, or be aware of any shift in auras around him.

He probably should have.

"Are you alright?" he coughed, looking at him at last.

Sedna cough, his body attempting to forcibly remove the intrusive liquid from his systems. But when Sedna coughed up water on the docks, what he noticed was the clump of white cloth in his hand. The hard object could now be identified as a gem. It was really quite a gem the blue hue unlike any ore or jewel he had seen before.

When his teal eyes took a closer look, it was almost like the surface of the ocean. It reminded him of the shining rippling surface of the ocean .. He was tempted to put it to his ears, like a shell, to see if sounds might surface from the mysterious gem. Lifting his arm, he noticed that one arm was entirely white. With some sort of cloth. In fact, Sedna was wearing some sort of heavy white outfit. Some sort of sash had draped across the ground .. Was that scales?

Something had happened.

This was no longer Sedna Gardios. In fact, he wasn't quite sure who he was. However, the name seemed to come to him, as if carried along the whisper of waves.

"What in the world was in that water?" His tone was incredulous as he stared at his new form, his head turned back to look at his posterior. What was that fluff? What was he wearing? FFFFFFF--- too many questions, a majority of them about what he was wearing. Water does not change clothes.

Camelot blinked at the knight that was now near him, and who he had just pulled from the water where before there had been a young man. He had witnessed awakenings before, but not quiet like this. For some reason, it took him completely off guard. There was no youma, no enemy, just water, and that had been enough to awaken the knight. That changed what Camelot knew about suck events.

"It wasn't the water!"

Camelot took a breath, trying to shake the water from his hair. He didn't like the feeling of water in his ears, either, but for now he had to deal with it and he didn't make a comment on it at the moment.

"You must have found an item, or rather one appeared for you. Uhm! Yes, well, to start at the beginning. I am Camelot, a page of Earth. You are the same as I am: a knight. I was awakened when this shield," he moved his arm to show, "appeared in front of me when I needed it. I touched it, and this is what happened. An item must have appeared for you under the water."

He had to begin the careful task of trying to explain everything without being overwhelming. But first, more important things.

"Are you alright?"
PostPosted: Mon Sep 19, 2011 2:49 pm

An item appeared underwater? Why underwater? Of all places .. It wasn't like Sedna was a merman or anything like that.

Definitely not a merman.

"I'm a knight? You mean, like, Sir Lancelot? Snow-white knight? Round table Knight? Fire Emblem, Ike style? Final Fantasy, onion knight style?" Sedna asked, incredulously, his fingers curling and uncurling in his palm with a renewed vigor.

"I'm not dead. Does that count as alright?" Sedna was still staring at his form, hands patting his chest and hair, familiarizing himself .. Strange. He felt like himself yet oddly, not quite .. himself. There was a story here. Personally, Sedna thought it was going to be quite fun to hear it. A necklace swayed back and forth with the man's momentum, becoming the focus of the man's attention. He looked down to see a symbol, which was probably really important.. but not as important as his next focus.

... Was that tights under his kimono waist? sad

Camelot nodded his head.

"Well, sort of like those things, yes. You're a being with powers now, like the... ah... terrorists everyone talks about. You'll come to find they are not, in fact, terrorists. There's a war going on, and we knights are meant to aid in ending it. Or at the very least, keeping the civilians that get caught in the crossfire safe. At least, that's how I see it."

He nodded his head, smiling as the other tried to figure things out. Usually, when Tony said 'knight' people made a Camelot or knights of the round reference, which then made introducing himself a little awkward.

At least he had already gotten that part out of the way.

"That does count. I am very much a fan of people not dying, in fact. I know this must be a little overwhelming for you. It definitely was for me, I remember. It wasn't that long ago, but it feels like ages. In any case, if you have any questions, and I'm sure you do, I can help you to the best of my ability."

He was always interested in aiding knights like him. Even if they didn't join his team, the Knights of Destiny, he was still their ally and would fight for them, with them, if they needed him to. That's what knights did, after all.
