Koko had lived through the winter and at last the cold weather was only a memory. Now Koko was able to bask in the warm rays of the summer sun, neither sweating nor shivering but lingering somewhere between sleep and awareness in pleasant warmth. He’d left his harem in favor of some time alone with his brother, Enitan, who promised him a surprise. Koko did so love surprises, and as he wondered what it was, the sounds around him incorporated into the ideas. A lovely song bird, perhaps, with jewel tones feathers and smelling of jasmine. A garden, maybe, with all manner of bright and perfumed flora for him to wander in. Something beautiful, he knew, for his brother would not curse him with something less for his enjoyment. Koko’s tail swished happily against the ground as the imagined a beautiful garden with musical song birds fluttering about the tops of the fruit trees. Somewhere he could linger and laze all day, smelling such sweet scents, enjoying beautiful music, surrounded by gorgeous blooms. Yes, that sounded perfect.

The "surprise" that Enitan had to show his silent brother was not a wondrous garden, and while it had wings, it was no song bird either. Cyan orbs bounced between facing forward as he walked, to glancing back at the precious bundle of energy that bounced along behind him. His gaze lingered on the filly that so closely resembled his father Zaitus, his lips quirking from amusement when she stops to examine a frog.
'A gift from the stars,' that is what father Ellial called this filly. As he'd spent time with her, Enitan slowly grew to agree. He cherished his siblings and none were more important to him than his family. But this filly, his sister, he felt especially protective of.
When Koko came into view, Enitan felt his smile automatically grow. Mischief sparked in the depths of his cyan eyes as he kept his gaze trained on Koko's face. The expression on his brother's face when he spotted the "surprise" was not something he wanted to miss.Embrace hopped along behind Enitan, her tiny wings fluttering and sending feathers dancing into the air. Only once did she pause, and it was to examine an odd slimy looking creature. She quickly dismissed it as the excitement that rolled in her gut refused to allow her to stay still for too long. Enitan said she would be meeting one of her other brothers today and the prospect of meeting more family had the tiny filly so excited she felt that she might burst.
Another brother meant another to play with. And, another to dote on her.

Koko watched absently as a Luna moth fluttered through his field of vision. He liked Luna moths. something about their color made them rather ethereal to him. He watched as the moth fluttered around a small daisy, swaying not too far from him in the breeze. It landed for a moment, for what reason Koko could only guess, and took off again. He followed it's erratic path for a moment before he lost sight of it again. It was then that something else caught his eye. His brother, actually. The light blue of his coat stood out against all terrain save the snow of winter. He smiled at him and stood. Clearly Koko had been seen first, as the look of expectation on Entian's face registered.
Motion caught his eye again. Next to Enitan was a speck. A tiny mote of a soquili bounced along next to him. Was that his surprise? Had Enitan spawned children? Koko's brow furrowed tightly as he watched the filly. Enitan had not expressed any interest in mares. In fact Koko was relatively certain he had a stallion for a mate. Had the mate had a surrogate? Perhaps a family from a previous mare. He warily put on foot before the other, trying to unravel the riddle of the strange foal. The wings were most peculiar. They looked like... like his father Zaitus's. His brow furrowed tighter as he stopped before her. Who are you? He stooped his head down to sniff her face. Strange... she smelled like him too... and his other father as well. He sniffed again. Had they surrogated another brood? But... she looked like Ellial... Koko looked up at Enitan, confusion written in every crevice of his face.
