Chlera Daughter of Lithy

Stats: 16, female, good with bows and magic, terrible with swords.
Race: Half-elf half-human
World Setting: A quiet forest(almost TO quiet) with a long stream cutting across the grass.Beyond forest borders is a vast desert of moutains.

About your character
Chlera is an only child and her parents were long dead. She had a elf mother and a human father. Her people were at war when her parents disappeared. A few months later their bodies were found, she was 13 at the time. She enjoys hunting deer and drawing.

Death:
Come to think of it....Did she die? I doubt she just stumbled upon it! Maybe she'll explain what happened later. There two possiblities:
-She died of starvation
-Or she was looking for her parents again
Her mind is a bit mixed up, let her rest. The answer will be revealed sooner or later.

Fate
If she hadn't arrived here, Chlera is certain she would have died during the great war between the demons and the angels. Of course the elves would side up with the angels, along with the hobbits, the faeries, and the animal-humans. Men, mermaids, and other magical beings would split in two sides and join the demons or the angels.

Akai Ryu

Stats: Supposedly Seventeen, Male, Quick-thinking, Quicker Feet, Light Build, Can't say no to people in need.
Race: Fallen Angel
World Setting: Akai's world is like modern day Earth with a bit of evil/demons mixed in. He is mostly found in large cities, New York style.

About your character
Akai was an angel; he had an argument with God and was cast out. He pretended to be a human on Earth and secretly fought evil. Akai's life was eternal, but his body mortal. After a long battle in which he lost his right wing, Akai died. His body was torn to pieces and his right wing ripped off.
Akai was returned to heaven, where God was to judge him. God told him it was not yet his time, as the world still needed him. He was tossed back onto Earth into a new body...
Akai awoke to the scent of exotic plants all around. He stared at a hole in the greenhouse ceiling. Someone spotted him, they were yelling. He didn't really understand what they were saying. Instead, he just ignored them and looked around at the plants. One in particular caught his eye, the Red Venus Fly Trap, Akai Ryu.
The name stayed in his mind when he was taken by the police. They questioned him, but he didn't understand much. They figured he was just dumb, or foreign. One said they would have deported him if he had known where he was from. The sheriff asked his name, the only thing he remembered was Akai Ryu. It just kind of stuck after that.
The sheriff took him in and kind of fostered him. Afterwards, he lived his life as a normal, unassuming human. Akai's only connection to his past, was vibrant dreams of long ago battles...

Death
Akai was once more facing his greatest threat. He had already lost his right wing to the demon before him. The demon was large and terrifying, but Akai stood his ground. He fought valiantly for as long as he could, but the demon had grown stronger since their last battle. It sapped Akai's strength and stole his immortality, plummeting him into darkness. Akai no longer felt the heavy burden he had carried since his fall from grace. He no longer had to protect the world from the evils within it. His fate no longer intertwined with the Earth's and thus, he was free. Free to pass into the next plane; Serendipity.

Fate
Akai would have continued his mission, protecting the Earth from the evils that would appear. He would not have been set free from his deal with God. He would continue living as long as the world did, invisible to the eyes of those who did not care. Battling and sacrificing his body until there was nothing left.

[ Brother ] Anton Valseca
Age: 46
Sex: Male
Strengths: his superpower, his intelligence, his smile, and his ability to tell a convincing lie
Weaknesses: his prayers, his curiosity, and his inability to remember what lies he’s told
Aliases: Garrett O’Connor, Mr. Phase, Jack Jones
Race: Human, Nationality: Irish, Profession: retired ex-supervillain, and a monk.
World Setting: Earth, with superheroes and villans.

About your character

In a previous life, the young Irish immigrant Garrett O’Connor was an accountant with a roguish smile and thick accent by day, and a spy for an organization of supervillains by night. With the ability to Phase in and out of places across short distances, Garrett made a near-perfect spy. He could breach any security systems and escape any police, and pretend to be in two places at once for the perfect alibi.

Garrett O’Connor was pretty much the best in his line of work, if he did say so himself – and he hadn’t planned on leaving it until he was betrayed by his colleague and lover (when she was drunk) Eliza. Deeply unsettled by Eliza’s betrayal, Anton intellectually knew that supervillains couldn’t really rely on each other… and he settled on revenge.

Only, Garret refused to be one of those cliché villains, and his choice of revenge was to disappear entirely. His wealth – the legally accumulated and illegally – ended up sitting in a Swiss account that hasn’t been touched in ten years.

Brother Anton Valesca joined the private boarding St. Benedict’s Abbey School in Iowa as a new brother of the Benedictine Order, psychology teacher, and philosophy teacher about two days after Garett O’Connor’s money was transferred. He hasn’t left campus grounds since, except to make house calls for death rites and emergency baptisms for newborns.

Death:

It was a stupid mistake – on the way home from performing an emergency baptism on a newborn babe missing a chamber of her heart in the hospital, Anton stopped by the side of the road to pick up a hitch-hiker.

Curiosity made him do it.

The man introduced himself as Chuck, and claimed his car had broken down a few miles back. Being the holy brother of a Catholic order that he was, Anton had no choice but to offer Chuck a lift to the next town, though his rusty instincts screamed that Chuck definitely wasn’t the man’s real name, and Anton was in for some serious trouble.

And he was – the famed superhero Glory Girl stopped the school van Anton had borrowed to apprehend “Chuck” – who was actually a thief with a superpower carrying some valuable artifacts (where he found those in Iowa, Anton hadn’t a clue). Unfortunately, Glory Girl recognized Garret O’Connor in a monk’s habit about as quickly as the former Garrett O’Connor recognized her – which was pretty damn quick. He Phased out, but Glory managed to wrap some of her purple, heatless flame-ropes around him…

When Brother Anton woke, he found himself in the Planes.

Fate

Had Anton not been pulled in to Serendipity, he probably would’ve gotten away from Glory quite easily. The money in his Swiss account would’ve started circulating again after ten years of gathering dust, and Brother Anton Valesca would be nothing more than a memory to his students and a mystery to his fellow brothers.

Anton was always prepared for this eventuality: he knew his escape into a monastery would never last forever (and if it did he would’ve gotten seriously bored and left). He’d already chosen his new alias – Jack Jones – and had all the papers arranged. Anton would’ve resurfaced as Mr. Phase again to sink back into clichés and go after Eliza. Who, he had of course kept tabs on. The last time he heard from his informant, Eliza was going by Sarah Anthony and sipping espressos in Paris).

His plan was to be more elusive than a shadow – to win over any of Eliza’s potential employers and then disappear when she went to track him down. Knowing her, Anton knew his plan was a truer revenge than murder or even a little maiming.

No contact – it would drive Eliza crazy.

Character Name
Zev Astari
Stats: 53 (looks about 25-27), Male, Dueling/Logic
Race: Anzat. The Anzat are a species in the Star Wars universe. They are force sensitive and are very similar to humans, except for their grey skin, usually blue hair and two tentacle-like proboscises that extend from their cheeks. These are used to feed upon the brains of their victims. They must do this to survive.
World Setting: (A description of the world your character is from)

About your character
250 Words Max
I was scared, even as a baby I knew something was wrong. I was crying, tears flowing down my checks and my mother had not come to check on me. Instead a man came, one I had never seen before. At that time I didn't understand that I should should not trust this man, I couldn't even speak yet. He cued at me as he picked me up. Than he took me away from my home and raised me at the jedi temple.

As I grew up the man who took me, Drox, raised me like a son and taught me the ways of the jedi. I cared more about him more than anyone.

On one mission against the Sith I was forced to watch my Drox die. What I didn't know at the time was that it was all faked and that my jedi Master lived. This was my first turn toward the dark side.

My next encounter with the Sith was when I was fully turned. The man who 'killed' Drox told me the truth about Drox and my parents, that Drox had killed my parents and wanted to kill me. At first I didn't believe him, but I knew what he spoke was the truth. My heart filled with hatred for my old master and the Jedi. He also told me that Drox was alive.

I decided that it was my destiny to kill Drox and become an enemy of the Jedi.

Death:
250 Words Max
My mouth formed a thin smirk as I watched the temple burn. One of the great Jedi temples have fallen and it was all thanks to me. Not a single jedi could make it out of there alive. Next to me my love, Mella watched me proudly. She was the one I trusted. There was no one I trusted like I trusted Mella. She was the only one who understands me. Carefully I held her hand, not wanting to hold her to tight. She was like porcelain, so fragile.

"I am going to go check on the kids all right?" She whispered to me. I nodded and she got up and I heard her steps leave the room. I continued to stare out the window of the spaceship. It was the perfect view of the burning temple.

Suddenly the smell of fabric burning came to my attention . The pain came after I realized what was happening. I looked down and saw the blade of the lightsaber running threw my chest. Than it was pulled out. My chair was turned around so I could see my attacker. There standing with my red lightsaber was my love, Mella. Tears were running down her cheeks.

"I am sorry. I was scared for myself and my children. Please understand Zev. You are not the man I fell in love with." She said as she cried. I closed my eyes and I forgave her. I hated her, but I had to forgive her. "Good-bye Zev."

Fate
250 Words Max
What should have happened to your character if fate had not pulled them to Serendipity. Do they have a god, religion or other beliefs? What happened to those they left behind? This is your chance to add a little more to your entry.

If I had not been lucky enough to go to Serendipity I would have been put in my worlds version of hell, called Chaos. It is the place where dark side users go once they die. I would be stuck there wandering around aimlessly for centuries. I would have spent the time looking back at my mistakes and wonder if I was born evil or turned evil.

Mella and my children would be hidden by the jedi, who would protect them even though I was the one who killed their kind. Of course as I suffered in Chaos I would never know that they were safe.

I would have wondered about the jedi. Was there a Sith out there who would have taken up my task and finish off the jedi. To myself I would have hoped that no one would have followed in my steps.

Of course history is destained to repeat itself. A young sith would have eventually summoned me from chaos and ask for my help. Wanting one more chance to destroy the jedi I would have agreed.

Astra Asgren

Stats
Age: ... I'll pretend you didn't ask that.
Sex: Female last I checked.
Strengths: Strong body, unshakable will, a startling beautiful– yet rare smile.
Weaknesses: Show none.

Race: High Elven
World Setting: I was born and raised in and around Toranta, a high elf city that is very advanced culturally compared to the rougher areas of Evorg. Just about any kind of creature you can imagine walk, swims or slithers on and under Evorg's surface. There is a tear in the veil that needs constant guarding, a duty the elves took on themselves.

About your character

I was stolen while walking by the brook outside of the great elven city Toranta. Though I wasn't a youngling and was an adept fighter I was taken by surprise by a group of men. I rather not say what happened, though you can get some ideas judging by my face and arms. You don't want to see how scarred, torn up and beaten the rest of me looks like.

Every time I was punished I was not weakened. I would not bend and do the menial tasks that were below my station and rank at his behest. I didn't want to give him any satisfaction, so we fought constantly. He left more marks on me than I did him, but I did leave some marks. Like the one that severed his ugly mug from the rest of his body.

After killing the rat b*****d with his own blade I walked free, albeit with a vendetta against me by his illogical and unkempt followers. They were all as stupid as he was. They caught up to me years afterwards. My guard was lowered. And now I am dead. Stupid ********. Stupid me.

Death:

One minute I was fending off my attackers and the next I was here. I think I remember a stabbing sensation shooting pain throughout my body...

Fate

Fate huh? I don't believe in that hogwash. People make their own destinies. This is where I turned up. I am just going to deal with it.

Entry by Kairukat

User Image

Character Name
Kairu
Stats: Age is 23, sex is female. Her strengths are mostly involved with playing with peoples' minds, and convincing and persuading them into doing things they wouldn't normally do. Weaknesses are distanced battles, and money.
Race: Human
World Setting: Kairu is from a world where there are rogues everywhere; black markets and secret passages connected the population. Every rogue had a bounty on their head, and by capturing/killing them and bringing them to a collection office, one could earn money. But, of course, all of this was against the law, and was done in secrecy.

About your character
Kairu, during life and death, is a feisty and well muscled bounty hunter, who craves and loves money. She indulges herself in cash and weapons, killing whoever may stand in her way to getting her payment. Her favorite murdering tools are driving people to suicide, playing with their minds, and decapitating them.
Kairu basically is a person of seven deadly sins, her most prominent being greed.

Death:
Kairu was never one for completing her responsibilities if they didn't earn her money. This trait eventually killed her. Kairu got involved with a gang called the 'Roses', who blackmailed and tortured citizens and rogues to no end. She did her missions, killing people and earning her pay, being quite content with herself, until a more experience bounty hunter stepped into the spotlight of the gang. The leader decided that Kairu was no longer needed, and sent out his best assassins to murder her. She put up a good fight, but eventually one of them cut off her head with a sharp blade. That is why, in Serendipity, she has stitches on her neck.

Fate
Kairu was a firm believer in the deadly ways of the 'Rogue Code'. Rule one states that one may dedicate themselves to murdering and greed, and be rewarded when they die with their true desire, whether they know what it is or not. She only had enemies, leaving behind people who despised and hated her, and for Kairu, that was wonderful. She yearned to be fought and hated, she loved it when people shouted and screamed at her in rage. One could call her a sadist and a masochist, all in one. She loved pain and inflicting pain on others.

Tamesis
Stats:
-Age: Appears late twenties, claims to be older.
-Sex: Female
-Strengths: Dark magic and poisons.
-Weaknesses: Little regard for human life, lack of empathy, and over-confidence.
Race: Corelith – One of the few remaining races that still hold ties to magic. Human in appearance though their eyes and hair take on traits of their magic.
World Setting: Valencia is a world slowly losing its connection to magic. Minor advancements in technology have turned some kingdoms into sprawling cities which seem strangely disconnected from neighboring rural towns.

About your character
Tamesis was never a social creature. Only a raven kept her company in her home in the forests. It wasn’t an ordinary Raven, but her former mentor who she had transformed as revenge when the old man got a little too friendly. Living close to one of the larger towns, many young women and men would come to her seeking potions for love and luck. Tamesis didn’t know how to do any of that. She only knew poisons. The foolish youths would pay her and run off in excitement thinking they would find the love of their life. But, once they drank the potion she gave them they were lucky if they even got to keep their lives.

Every so often someone who would come to her wasn’t some foolish child and instead wanted her to do what she was skilled at. Her magic and poisons made it easy for her to kill most of the ones she was hired to without even being seen. The few times she was almost caught she just added a new victim to list that night. Over the years she grew confident in her abilities, so when a member of the royal family came to her and asked her to kill the king so that he could take his place, she didn’t even hesitate to accept.

Death:
Killing the king had been easy, but the prince who had hired her to do so have never planned on paying her. Shortly after news of the kings death spread a price was put on her head for the murder. Tamesis didn’t take that kind of betrayal well. The new king became her new target.

Once again, getting into the castle was easy enough. It would have been very easy for her to have poisoned him through his food or drink, but Tamesis wanted a more personal touch to this. She wanted to see the man’s face when he realized what was happening. It was late when she snuck up to his bedchamber. He was still awake at the time, pacing the room and obviously nervous. He had reason to be. Tamesis came up behind him, grabbing him and forcing his head back, opening his mouth. She poured a dark poison from a glass vial into his mouth. He regained enough sense to spit it out and throw her back but the damage was done. The poison was potent and only needed a single drop to kill someone his size. He was dead before he hit the ground, but so was Tamesis. The glass vial had shattered in her hand when he threw her back, and the moment the poison left in the vial entered her blood her fate was sealed. She had succeeded in her revenge. But it had been her own downfall as well.

Fate
Tamesis’s race had very simple ideas involving death. There was no afterlife. When one of them dies their essence is simple absorbed into the element they chose to use. In Tamesis’s case it would have been shadows. Her death and her powers would just work to strengthen others who also used her element of magic.

As for those she left behind, the only person who might even think to care about her passing is the Raven that followed her. Possibly, with her death, the spell on him was finally broken and the old man was free to live out his own life, either hating her for what she did to him or missing her company.

Sebastian

Stats: His age is unkown to him. He is relatively fast and and able fighter. He has all the skills required of a theif and then some. He is strong, and arrogant. He has an air of sarcasm that most tend to find unappealing.
Race: Human
World Setting: Sebastian has lived in many places, but currently resides within the Alabaster Sands north of the Nestis Empire. (My world is a big one. o.o)

About your character

Sebastian is an immortal man with no concept of time as the living know it. He doesn't remember being born, and he has yet to die. He can't tell you how long he's been alive, but he can recall the last 700 years. He's lived many places, but was unable to find a true home until he came upon a village hidden deep within the Alabaster Sands. The village is surrounded by a circular mountain range that protects it from the frequent sand storms. The village was home to band of Pirates and they welcomed him in. Finally finding acceptance and something worth protecting, Sebastian became a Pirate himself and the captain of a ship that he has piloted for 200 years. His ship is called the Chariot. It is an airship that he, along with his crew, use to pilage supplies for the village. He is famous now... Everywhere people speak of the legend of the Blue Angel, a name he aquired over the years, and his Chariot.

Sebastian doesn't know if there are others like him.. But he often wonders about the possiblility. He is drawn to the sky in his quiet moments of repose.

Death:

He wasn't sure where he was now, but the images that had been twisted into his mind alarmed him, and for the first time in a long time, he was aware of his own beating heart. The battle had been one he had seen coming, but it was still a bit of a surprise. The ship launched from the port it had occupied in a bit of a rush. They were being persued again, and this time the target was not him, as it usually was, but the Chariot itself. Why aim for a man that could not die? Instead, the logical choice is to aim for something he holds dear. His ship and his crew.
The wind whipped through azure and onyx locks as the captain of the ship stood on the deck, facing the enemy fleet with a stern gaze. This would be a hard fought battle indeed. All he needed to do was protect the ship and the lives onboard... For one that could not die, it was the least he could do. It was then that he cast his last spell. An impenetrable armor covered the Chariot as the fleet from Nestis began to fire on them. The magic hit the ship and exploded, but did not cause any harm to her haul.

Fate

Being that he is immortal, he would have drifted in the ocean for some time before eventually finding his way back to a shoreline somewhere. From there, he would attempt to make it back home, all of this encompassing about a years time. Those he left behind, his crew and Sehara, a woman who was his first mate on his ship would undoubtadly mourn his passing and attempt to move on. The Chariot would remain docked until Sehara decided to take her out again. She would mourn his passing most. Even though she wouldn't ever have admitted it to him, she did love her Captain. Now that he's gone she regrets not having said those three little word to him..

Reed

Stats: Appears 19 or 20 (actually about 380) / Male / Strengths: physical and magical fighting abilities, skills of observation and judgment, determination and perseverance. Weaknesses: occasional tendency to doubt himself, general lack of productive social skills, insatiable habit of “sticking his nose into other people’s business.”
Race: Exalted (Angel) / The embodiment of Good and ancient enemies of demons, Exalted are worshiped in mortal lore and culture as benevolent gods.
World Setting: Though his home is Exalt, the golden land of the angels, he was born on the Mortal Plane, in a fantasy world of sprites, magic, and demons.

About your character
Reed was born under a seal, a demonic curse that had been placed upon his mother when she was caught on the Mortal Plane. This seal effectively rendered him human; and he grew up as such, in a home ruled by an uncaring, abusive father, thinking his mother had abandoned him at birth. After a turbulent, rebellious series of teenage years, he left home at the age of eighteen, desperate to escape his own life.

Despite his new freedom, his long-ingrained feelings of worthlessness continued to hound him, and it wasn’t until a chance meeting with a cheerful young girl that Reed’s life began to change. He met a collection of travelers who seemed eager to welcome him, despite his cold demeanor. And soon he found himself caught up in a growing knowledge of demons and exalted. He discovered the truth of his family—the love of his mother, and the identity of his true father. And in time, he came to break the seal on himself, revealing his own powers and exalted heritage.

Because he grew up on the Mortal Plane, Reed was exposed to many unique (for exalted) experiences and viewpoints which set him apart from much of the rest of his race. His abuse-ridden past left dramatic scars that he is ever working to heal, and he often struggles with opening up to people. His kind nature, however, typically plants him firmly in the middle of problems: he cannot stand to see others suffering, especially children.

Death
As the son of a powerful exalted, Reed began learning how to make portals to other worlds at a young age. Perhaps it was his experiences growing up in a world not his own, or Talent for bridging the gap of death to communicate with the deceased, but he took to both portal making and world traveling with relative ease. And his restless, inquisitive nature would not let him go long without visiting a new or familiar world.

However, his forays were not always successful. Determined to live true to his mother’s motto, “Nothing is impossible if you believe,” and eager to prove himself a person of worth, Reed sometimes pushed himself to try new things prematurely. It was during such an instance that he made the mistake which corrupted his portal—and led him to the Plane of Serendipity.

Reed had visited several different Planes before, and he had long researched the existence of other worlds. But, as he found himself pulled through his unstable portal and deposited on a new world, he felt a deep sense of foreboding. For this world felt somehow different: It was not the familiar Plane of Exalt, nor the varied Mortal Plane. He even knew it was not Abyss, the Plane of demons. No, this Plane was different; and yet, it felt frighteningly familiar, a world he had reached across many times but never seen, for it was forbidden. There was only one way to reach the Plane of Death. Until now.

Fate
Reed understood all of the mortal philosophies of life. He revered the exalted gods and believed in a higher power that directed the flow of mortality. And then his world was rearranged; and suddenly, in what had become a minuscule moment in a life of eternity, he found himself walking with, talking to, becoming the gods of mortals.

But not everything was so simple. Desperate to understand, Reed sought to study the history and beliefs of exalted, to develop a philosophy that would fit within the framework of his mind. He questioned the structure of the worlds and the immortal enmity between exalted and demons. And he struggled to discover who—and what—he truly was.

As he researched, he began to be convinced of a greater force or being beyond what he knew. Was it fate? A greater god? Or perhaps the absolute ideas of Good and Evil. Yet, much as he tried to grasp that elusive thought, to take hold of the ultimate answers, his wondering only led him to more questions, more paths to be explored. Yet, there were times that he felt directed . . . as if, in a way, he might be merely playing out the course of his life on a grand stage—a course that had already been decided by a being he could not see.

His time in Serendipity would be a challenge, he knew—perhaps even a test. But he would make it home. That was a promise he intended never to break.

Lurp

  • Age: 75 (equivalent to a human in their late 30's, early 40's)
  • Sex: Female (in her true form) androgynous when shifting (prefers male forms, but will use female too).
  • Strengths: Shape-shifting. Can digest almost anything. Incredible survival instincts. Immune to poison and certain magics.
  • Weaknesses: Elemental magics, especially fire; Helpless in true form; Always weighs 165 pounds no matter what she is, whether it be dragon or mouse; Must revert to true form regularly.
  • Race: Arvul (tribal, nomadic shape-shifters believed to be imaginary.)
  • World Setting: Pre-industrial with magic used for day-to-day technology. Historic seafaring city filled with sailors and criminals.

About Lurp

Lurp was born in the spring, when the mountain snows were just beginning to thaw. Her parents named her Hanu. Arvul are born “solid” and gain the ability to shift at sexual maturity. Lurp was captured by humans before she reached this point. When they realized she couldn't shift, instead of killing her they used her for “entertainment,” leaving her physically and emotionally scarred.

Continuing human aggressions pushed Lurp's people into retaliating. Lurp was discovered during the chaos and “rescued” but when her people realized she had been “defiled” she was declared “kir j'aal” (“without heart/soul”) and banished by their leader, her beloved.

As soon as she could shift, Lurp took revenge on her original captors. Afterwards Lurp learned to survive in the human world. She worked as a thief and a prostitute, scraping by and hating all humans, especially men. She'd long since forgotten her real name, so one of her fellow rogues named her “Lurp” for the sound she made when shifting.

One day, she got trapped in a cave-in with a human male named Will. She tried but failed to kill him, too weak in her true form. To her shock Will helped her disguise herself and never told anyone her secret. After saving each other's lives a couple times they fell in love.

Despite difficulties in their relationship, they became mercenaries together. Will taught Lurp how to fight without shifting, and Lurp used her powers to protect Will.

Death:

“I think we lost 'em.” Will whispered.

Lurp didn't answer, watching the torchlight cast strange shadows on the catacomb walls. She'd felt better when they knew where the mages pursuing them were, even if it had been too close for comfort. “I told you we shouldn't take this job,” she finally whispered. Mages meant trouble. Neither she nor Will could use magic.

“No worries, Shifty,” Will responded, using his pet name for her. “We'll get through this same as ever.”

Lurp huffed, then froze. There were footsteps outside the narrow passage they were hiding in. As fire flared across the opening, they turned and ran the opposite way. Unfortunately, another mage was there, waiting. He drew back his hands and sent flames directly INTO the passage. Without thinking, Lurp shoved herself in front of Will, stretching to shield him.

She'd acted on instinct, so the pain came as a surprise. It was like nothing she'd ever known. When the spell passed, she felt herself falling backward, disintegrating as she reverted to true form. One of her legs was completely gone and half her torso, the edges melted and oozing. The mage's shock at the sight gave Will enough time to plant his partisan solidly in his chest.

Then Will was back at her side. “Stay with me, Shifty. Stay with me!” Lurp couldn't answer.

“Darlin' you hafta...”

The last thing Lurp saw was Will's face through the rising mist of her own golden blood.

Fate

Lurp had always known Will would die first. Afterall, his people lived till 45 at best and hers, 200. But she'd never expected it to be so soon. They'd gotten separated in all the fighting, and by the time she found him it was too late. She knelt beside him, but he was already gone. She didn't even get to hold him in her arms as he died.

Lurp raised her head, howling with pain and loss. Her howls grew louder until she had no more tears to accompany them. Then she gathered up Will's body, and shifted around it, becoming a giant storm wolf. She cocooned his body inside her, protecting it from all further harm until she could get to safety.

Though fire terrified her, she lit his funeral pyre with her own two hands, and watched as he burned. Then she gathered up his ashes and ran through days and nights, carrying them to his beloved homeland where his ashes could be returned to the earth.

Eventually she returned home to Hanghorse, the city where she and Will had lived together. Because Will had been a sailor and a bartender, she founded a brewery, “The Silver Sailor,” in his honor. She had joined Will's religion long ago, and now she became devout in the hopes that someday she might be allowed into his heaven.

So she lived out the remainder of her days, alone, but with her memories.

Akribos

Stats:
Age: Appears to be in her early 20s, actually is just short of 1 millennia, 889 years old to be exact.
Gender: Female
Strengths/Powers: Curious, Creative, Persistent, Transcendent, Volatile, Destructive, Manipulative, Vindictive, Vengeful, Pessimist, Sadist./.Metamorphic, Breaths Fire, Bonding, Mimicry./.Immune to mortal sickness, Accelerated Healing.
Weaknesses: Atlantean dagger coated with the blood of Appolymi. Major Fatalities.
Race: Quarter-Demon (quarter charonte demon, quarter dryad nymph, half human). An uncommon hybrid, has claim on only two permanent forms. Half-fiend (humanoid form with charonte traits). Human.
World Setting: Alternate Earth (Based off of Dark-Hunter cosmology & the voices within my head)

About your character:
Akribos is a child of Ero’s amusement and misfortune. Seems her mother had pissed off Ero’s and in retribution he thought it would be amusing to shoot her mother and what was her father with arrows of lust. They had one night together and conceived Akribos. Akribos didn’t have a “happy” childhood. She was not a Nymph, she wasn’t a Charonte, and she wasn’t human enough to be really considered human.

She spent the first century of her life within Tartarus. She refuses to speak of what she endured there, she was able to bribe her way out and that’s all she will say on that matter.

Because of her blood she was unable to reside anywhere within Olympus and she would be damned if she ever returned to the Underworld. She wasn’t demon enough to reside with her father’s kind so the human world was all that was left to her.

Over the next few centuries Akribos unwittingly survived. She was by no means immortal but thanks to the two non-human parts of her blood she lives longer than the average human.

Of the dryad within her she is able to shift her form in to that of a plant or animal. Of the Charonte within her she is able to take on a half-fiend form but not the true base form of a Charonte. It’s also what gives her an extended lifespan and certain abilities like fire breathing, mimcry, and the ability to bind herself to another being.

Death:
One would think that living for over eight centuries would cure anyone of wanting to risk their own neck to help another. After eight centuries of avoiding unnecessary contact with others and never forming attachments to anyone and yet she makes the age old mistake; she forgot and actually gave a damn about someone other than herself.

She had stumbled across a Daimon and its prey and had intervened and saved a young female Katagaria. In doing so she had then been welcomed in to the local Sanctuary and her life had begun to be more than just a rudimentary progression and actually began to matter and mean something to her. She wished now that she had not intervened or had made damn sure that the Daimon was dead before helping the young woman. She also wished she hadn’t shifted in to her half-fiend form because then he would never have been able to realize that she was of charonte ilk.

But then again, if wishes were possible then Akribos would not be a mongrel mixture.

The Daimon hadn’t been dead and had gotten to a bolt hole to Kalosis where he had commandeered one of Appolymi’s personal blood daggers.

One non-fatal flesh wound later and it was lights out for Akribos. Or she had assumed it was lights out after feeling herself die; until her eyes opened again. She knew not what Serendipity was but she assumed it was some mirage and that she was actually back in Tartarus.

Fate:
If the Moirae hadn’t stepped in and sent Akribos here to Serendipity then her life’s thread would have been cut by Atropos of the Moirae and she would have been probably sent back to Hade’s realm; Or maybe Kalosis. Her choices weren’t many, either Greek Hell or Atlantean Hell is where her soul would have been sent. No matter how good or evil she might have been it wouldn’t have mattered. She was a demon, even if it was only a quarter of whom she was but it still was enough to damn her.

If she was killed in such a manner that she was betrayed then her soul would have screamed out for vengeance and maybe Artemis would have made her a deal and she’d have become a dark hunter but.. Artemis wasn’t fond of Charontes so probably wouldn’t have heeded Akribos’s soul when it screamed unless she was bored and wanted to be a pain in Acheron’s hind parts.

Akribos hadn’t left behind any loved ones. Yeah, the friends she had made within Sanctuary may have missed her but they would go on with life. Death is death and a necessary evil of life.

As for the Gods, the only two pantheons she had any ties to had long since forsaken her so she hadn’t ever really given them much thought, other than what it would be like to flame broil and eat them. But then again, that was just the charonte side of her rationality.

Devaena Syndri
Stats:
  • Age: Just shy of her 5th millennia (4,802 to be exact, 'loth promotions take a long time)
  • Sex: Hermaphrodite, prefers female forms.
  • Strengths: Cunning, Deceptive, Manipulative, Ambitious, Skilled Fighter, Mercenary, and Negotiator, Fiendish strengths and immunities.
  • Weaknesses: Her higher ups, sods she's screwed over who lived to tell the tale, Magical cold, Fiend weaknesses

Race: Nycaloth, a four-armed yugoloth (neutral evil fiend) with a gigantic, gargoylesque frame and dog-like face covered in emerald scales. Poses as a human or half-fiend warrioress.
World Setting: Born/lives in Oinos, first layer of the Gray Waste of Hades (DnD cosmology/Planescape).

About your character
Spawned from the very essence of Hades itself, Devaena has in general lived the life that most yugoloths expect to live: fighting in the Blood War, tempting mortals, betraying enemy and ally alike, and slowly but surely moving up the ladder of progression by spreading Evil through the multiverse. Unlike other fiends, 'loth promotion is a strictly linear path. Each lesson must be learned, and each form must be experienced fully to move on to the next. Devaena has moved through seven such promotions to earn her current spot as a nycaloth, a master of espionage and political intrigue.

Needless to say there have been several bumps along the way. The one burned most deeply into her long memory was a scheme during her time in her second form where she decided to mother a brood of young 'loths with another 'loth of her rank, a plan which nearly ended her life after her 'mate' left her cut open and bleeding with her voracious larvae youngling. She's not sure what happened to either after she escaped, but always hoped they were dead.

In her time as a Nycaloth, Devaena has accomplished much from the founding of her mercenary band, The Forgotten, to the negotiation of potentially the first Baatezu-Tanar'ri contract in the Blood War (the Baatezu (devils) and Tanar'ri (demons) hate each other as much as they hate the Celestials and are the two factions of the Blood War). She is currently lined up to receive an early promotion to Arcanaloth.

Death:
It was probably her own fault for not carefully rooting out what happened to her 'mate' after he left her for dead and making absolutely sure with her own hands that 'he' would never get the chance to double cross her again.

Today was when her years of petitioning for promotion would pay off. Today she was going to undergo the ritual to become an arcanaloth. The surgeries involved were brutal, but she would never get to see them to completion for about the time they were removing her extra arms and the wings from her back, she felt an impossible tug at her very essence. In an instant later she was transported and found herself in the middle of a heated battle on Carceri, the prison plane which the 'loths were trying to expand into. She only got a glimpse of her summoner, a jackal-headed arcanaloth with feral, amber eyes, but she knew him immediately as the dergholoth she'd once mated with so long ago.

She wanted nothing more than to go rip him limb from limb, weakened and bleeding though she was. He would've known she was about to gain her promotion (arcanaloths being the record keepers for the 'loths after all) and though it made her smile a little that she was enough of a threat he didn't want to see her achieve his same rank, it nonetheless left her in an impossible predicament. Unfortunately for Devaena, she'd never get past the gehreleth army to end him...

Fate
Had the ritual not been interrupted, Devaena would have completed her promotion to the rank of Arcanaloth and become one of the infernal scribes who controlled the contracts and negotiations of the Blood War. She would've been well on her way to the first of her goals, becoming an ultraloth, one of the Faceless Ones, and wielding real power in Gehenna and Hades. Perhaps one day she would have even realized her ambition of seizing the Siege Malicious for herself and taking the throne of the Oinoloth, the co-leader of her kind. Or perhaps she would have eventually been the one behind the throne pulling the Oinoloth's strings herself, either would have suited her.

Had she been anywhere but Carceri or her home planes when she died, she would've reformed over the course of a decade or two, a menial time to a fiend, and then immediately ended her 'mate' permanently as soon as she found the opportunity to do so. She would've went on to petition for her promotion again eventually, but dying would have been a definite setback.

Had Devaena not been pulled to Serendipity, she would have been dead for good, her existence snuffed out, her essence re-merging with the planes. Eventually another mezzoloth would've been born to take her place, but it wouldn't have been her, had any of her memories, or carried any of her consciousness. Devaena, like any fiend killed on one of their home planes, would have simply ceased entirely to exist.

Sky SilverLight

Stats: I'm seventeen (Earth years) old, all female.
Strengths: Nights (full moon is the best), T-storms, high places, like roofs or trees, the dark
Weakness: Water (I can swim, but being in it for to long will kill me...), underground places where I can't see the sky.
Race: I'm a neko, but from another planet, so I'm an alien.
World Setting: I came from Zogok (out of this galaxy) where I was a princess, and everyone is a neko (like everyone on earth is a human, we're nekos). Only royalty (with very few exceptions) could have supernatural powers, but most people can transform into an animal.

About your character

My life should have been perfect. I mean, I was a princess and turning five (not earth year five) the year where I'd officially get my powers! Storm, my brother who already got his power shape-shifting, couldn't wait for the ceremony, but my parents were fighting again. If I could, I'd trade my powers just to hear them say they loved each other, but I never heard it.

I was too young to recognize the symbols on the army's flags, but I wish I did... It was my birthday, when I lost my parents forever. They charged up to the castle, my brother and I hid, killing my parents and everyone else. I clamped my hands over my ears until it was quiet. After Storm surveyed the castle, we left. Running down that staircase, I couldn't forget the stains on the steps; the screams echoing off the stone walls.

Eventually, we made it off castle grounds, and needed somewhere to go. They wouldn't stop until we were dead. Then they'd have full control of my home, but we couldn't let that happen. Storm found a spaceship that was headed for earth, out of this galaxy. If I could chose, I'd never get on, just run home shaking my parents until they were awake, and pretend it never happened. I didn't have that chose, and if Storm died, I'd be the heir to the throne. It was our duty, so we left to start anew.

Death:

We landed in an open field, found by a kind old lady who had us call her "Aunt Dee". She taught us everything we knew, and took us to school and other places. We moved around a lot, no home was ours forever. When I turned eighteen (Storm about twenty) we decided that it was time to move out, and maybe return to our true home. Little did I know, I was just ending my life quicker. 76

Ever since I first came to earth, I'd just chill out on the roof every night, hoping for a chance. For the last time, I decided to sit on the cliff overlooking the sea. Luckily, Storm didn't join me, because up in the air, I saw a their ship. One man flew down then pushed me before I even had time to react.. Over the edge I flew, landing in the salty water with a splash.

I suppose I did see my life flash before my eyes, as the water burned and hissed at my fragile skin. It was like watching a mechanical device break down after being soaked in water, all exposed. Sparks flew out my body, and my vision was getting cloudy. There was too much pain to just focus on, so I just waited for my own end.

Fate

While wasting away in the water, I did see what could of happen if I could see my parents once again. If they knew what bad thing were to happen, they would hold me, love me, and I'd get my wish. They love each other, and die hand in hand protecting each other. I could only hope that was how they died, without hatred for each other in their hearts.

Another flashback reminded me that Storm was still out there. He was capable of living on his own, but I did worry for him. Yet he always told me to keep my head held high, don't let anyone look through you and see your past, and that was how I lived my life. With joy, and laughter and (mostly) curiosity . No one could see the pain in my heart, not even myself. Which was probably why I never saw it coming.

There was one question that wasn't answered. If I am... Dead. Then where are mom and dad? They should of gone to, where ever I was, with me. They never lived long enough to tell me where we would go where we died...
