Oh, boy! This was wonderful! Miss Rainbow's End - Mayrah, Kero reminded himself as he trotted back and forth, waiting for his chance to talk to her. She had been so busy today and he hadn't been able to see her even once! H wanted to congratulate her because she was special and had gotten a special position and he was just so so proud he had to tell her he did because she was wonderful and amazing and beautiful and everything special and kind and sweet in the world! But in order to congratulate her, he had to get to see her first!
Mayrah had indeed been busy. She'd managed to attain the head crafter's position in this little Pack of Kero's, and the pride that ran through the hyena's chest was...well, it was nice. GEntly licking a paw, she'd been busy organizing what few members they had, and when finally she had a moment's rest, the blond maned female had intended on going to see the male she loved straight away. Trotting on light paws, her green eyes lit up with warm emotion as she spotted the chatterbox from a mile away, "Kero!" Her heart lept in her chest, and she made her way over, nuzzling his head and licking his ear carefully.
"Hello, hello!" Kero chirped excitedly, his tail wagging in his excitement at seeing his lovely Miss rainbow's End. "I missed you, how are you? You've been so busy has it ben going well is there anything I can help you with I'd love to help you as much as I'm allkowed or I could just wspend time with you it'd rather do that I would really like that," he said, then amazingly cut himself off before he could babble too extensively. He nuzzled her back and wrigglefd all over with excitement, resembling nothing more than a great, overgrown pup for the moment. "What's crafting like anyway? Is it fun? I could never do anything like that even if I was allowed to but I'm so glad you can do it and that you're in charge it looks wonderful and I'm sure you're doing a wonderful amazing fantastic best of the best job!" Oh, wait, was he doing that talking-too-much thing again? He didn't think so, he'd stopped himself twice this time, that meant it wasn't too much, right?
She laughed happily, watching him with those pretty greens as she murmured, "I'm doing alright, Kero. A bit tired, but that is to be expected. I see no reason why you couldn't help me, by gathering supplies and the like. Though you can't make things, you can still get me what I need. Sort of like...a personal assistant." The fact that he'd stopped him self....She chuckled. He was learning. "It truly is fun. I enjoy using my paws to make things to help the Pack." Leaning against him slightly, she let her sides heave a sigh of relief, glad to have her paws firmly on the ground for a moment. He was more her rock than she was his, at the moment. She needed a steady paw.
"Really? I would love to help you," Kero said, another long sring of babbling forestalled as he belatedly realized just how tired she was. "Do you need to lie down for a little while? I know a spot that's really comfy I mean it's probably nothing like you're allowed but it's a spot I can go to and it would let you relax and rest and get some strngth back you need your strength to make things right? That's important isn't it is sounds important and you really shoul be careful you don't want to get sick or hurt I can't let you get hurt okay that would be less than wonderful more like terrible and horrible and..." And there he'd gone again, chattering on instead of helping. Oops. But maybe it wasn't too bad, since he braced himself and let her lean against him. Poor Miss Rainbow's end! She must work so hard!
Her paws were a bit sore, and resting...It sounded amazing. To have a moment to simply lie there with her Kero, "I would like that, yes..." She getly licked under his chin, reassuring him that everything was alright. He really was such the little Chatterbox. But that was okay by Mayrah. He was a good-natured boy, and she'd fallen for him, despite the talkative nature. But his own complimented her quiet one so well, "I think my paws could use a moment's reprieve."
"Okay," Kero said, and miraculously restrained himself from saying more as he half-led, half-supported Mayrah to a comfy little hollow in the rocks, just the right size for one or two hyenas to curl up in and relax. "This is it it might not look that comfy but it really is and the sun warms it so it's really relaxing and makes your paws fell better and I just know it will help you rest for a little while, you need to rest don't overwork yourself I can help you with what I'm allowed to you know I don't want you to do too much." He stopped himself again and whined low in his throat, before nuzzling at her almost desperately. He didn't want anything bad to happen to Mayrah, she was so sweet and nice and so many wonderful things! Sh was everything he loved in this world (well, except flying or breathing underwater, but you can't have them all!) and he didn't want anything bad to happen to her, ever.
As she lay down in a sunny crag, she sighed happily, the sun warming her orange pelt, and lighting the little white freckles on her face. Taking his scruff in her mouth, the female gently pulled him down and cuddled him against her, in a lover's embrace, "....I'll be okay." She murmure, "A little exhaustion never hurt anyone. It's the sign that you're doing your job, and doing it well. I am proud to serve the Pack....And to have you." As she said that, the Hyena drifted slowly, easily off to sleep. Finally....a moment at peace.
