xxxxxxxxYou've heard rumors about the twin nurses. Their names are not whispered with the same sort xxxxxxxxof fear or awe reserved for the doctors, especially the sister's; she's far too gentle and cares too much xxxxxxxxfor the patients to command such attention. The brother, on the other hand, is regarded with more suspicion. xxxxxxxx'He's got a clipboard and takes the night shifts' is the most anyone is able to tell you.
xxxxxxxxBecause of his elusiveness, you are surprised when you suddenly see him walking ahead of you, xxxxxxxxon a day you hadn't spared him a thought. You start to follow him, curious, and your footsteps xxxxxxxxquickly give you away -- he stops and turns on his heel to look at you, and you realize just how much xxxxxxxxhe towers over you. While he can clearly see you, you cannot see much of him aside from a pair xxxxxxxxof narrowed red eyes; most of his face is obscured by a mask as blue as his wings.
xxxxxxxx"May I help you?" He asks when you do not immediately speak.Ingway is scheduled to make his rounds in-thread at least twice a week. If you'd like to RP with him (in-thread or otherwise), feel free to throw someone at him when he's out and about, or just send me a PM! But here are a few things you should keep in mind:
Ingway is a nurse. It is his job to care for the patients and keep them healthy alive, but he will not hesitate to put them in place should he catch them causing any trouble. This doesn't mean he will intentionally injure any troublemaking patients, though; that wouldn't exactly look good on his record. On that note, please remember that he has more powers and traits than the average patient! It is in both his nature and job description to avoid fraternizing with patients. He will actively try to keep conversations brief, so RPs will start off slowly -- unfortunately, it's up to your character to be persistent! Ingway isn't a mind-reader, but he does have access to the patient files. He might know some very basic details about the more recent patients (those that arrived around the time he was hired at the Asylum, i.e., the Pokemon gijinkas), like their names, faces, and reasons for admission. He's less likely to know anything about older patients, but more likely to spend time observing them. He may sometimes mention his sister, Anesha. ... He's kind of ridiculously tall. xxxxxxxxWarnings - before you go any further xxxxxxxxThe Basics - powers, backstory, height and weight; all that stuff you might want to know xxxxxxxxThe Details - likes, dislikes, habits; miscellaneous information xxxxxxxxRelationships - friends and enemies and maybe there's a family somewhere xxxxxxxxSketches - lookit all the pictures xxxxxxxxPatient Journal - drabbles and thoughts on the asylum

Ingway Faeson • ING-way fay-SAWNAge: 23 Hair: Cerulean blue, silky and left loose to trail down his back Eyes: Garnet red, apathetic and analytical Height: 6'7'' / 200 cm Weight: 172 lbs / 78 kg Body Type: Tall, but slender and crane-boned. He seems at once imposing and deceptively slight. Gender: Male Species: Latios Gijinka
Orientation: Why do you want to know? Personality: In three (carefully chosen) words, Ingway would describe himself as introverted, muted, and passive. He is a listener and an observer in all respects, never revealing more of himself than absolutely necessary -- and his mask makes his stoicism even more difficult to read. His only loyalties seem to be to the doctors, whose orders he follows to the letter, and to his sister Anesha, whom he is quietly protective of. Voice: Low, smooth, and soft, sometimes breathily so. His speech is laconic, yet rarely makes use of contractions. While he is normally very careful to speak, he has a habit of mumbling while writing.
Brief History: Born with a wealthy family and an impeccably sharp mind, Ingway breezed through life with little effort. He grew up admiring Anesha's kindness and ambition to help others, and when she decided to become a nurse, he resolved to follow in her footsteps. He saw no other option for himself; for all his brilliance, Ingway had never considered a dream of his own. After years of schooling at distinguished facilities, the twins received their diplomas, and their first job offer came from a mysterious place known only as the Asylum...
Powers: Telekinesis - Capable of moving objects and people with psychic power. He's cultivated this ability for some time, so he's particularly skilled with it; however, targets larger than himself require much more effort to move. If Ingway strains himself too much, he might suffer from headaches, nosebleeds, nausea, or unconsciousness. Telepathy - Shares a mental link with his sister Anesha. He can speak with her telepathically whenever he wishes, but it is unknown if he's capable of speaking to others like this as well. Invisibility - Bends and refracts the light around him to appear invisible. The special material of his clothes is also affected by this and disappears with him. It seems he can keep this up indefinitely, but it requires concentration and a calm state of mind. Luster Purge - Shoots a blinding beam of damaging light at a target. Ingway normally releases this attack from the palms of his hands, but he's also capable of unleashing it through his mouth or his eyes as well. It seems to be a draining technique to use; Ingway can use Luster Purge a maximum of five times without rest.
Traits: Flight - Capable of both flying and hovering with his powerful wings. Since arriving at the Asylum, he rarely does either; at most he uses his wings to quickly propel himself over short distances. Super Speed - Incredibly agile. Combined with his invisibility power, he's capable of moving and seemingly disappearing in the blink of an eye. Dragon Resistance - Resistant against electric, grass, water and fire attacks. Ice Weakness - Has an increased vulnerability to ice attacks. Lygophobia - Has an increased vulnerability to attacks that draw upon darkness or shadows. Ingway tries to use Luster Purge's light to counter this.
RP Colors: Sky blue for thoughts and dialogue, valencia red for emphasis and memories of Anesha.

Stages: Nurse Leitmotifs: Praying Voices (Ar Tonelico 2), Orthopedics, Working on a Marvel (Trauma Team), Conference, Standard Procedure (Trauma Team)
Nicknames: Ingy, Murse, Super Murse, Mr. Fae, Bluebird Birthdate: May 22nd Birthplace: Unknown Blood Type: A
Unusual Features: His wings and feathery ears; the red triangular markings on his arms and legs
Likes: Red ink, the color white, Batman ... Dislikes: Claims to dislike nothing Fears: Losing Anesha, breaking his mask
Strengths: Loyal, intelligent, perceptive, calm even in stressful situations Weaknesses: Reserved, unemotional, stifles and limits himself
Habits:
Tends to read his notes aloud while writing, but only when people are nearby... During prolonged conversations (that he desperately wants to get out of, more often than not), he plays with the ends of his hair. Often resorts to using Telekinesis to move things around.
Talents/Skills:
Possesses an excellent memory. He's very good at recalling information. Trained in first aid and critical care methods, among other standard medical practices. Skilled with alchemy and electronics.
Equipment:
Latios Mask (Helm) A blue mask resembling a Latios' crest. It is made of a strangely tough, lustrous material, and is very difficult to break. A microphone running along its side records messages for the doctors. The microphone isn't always turned on -- but Ingway tends to act like it is.
Disappears with Ingway when using Invisibility. DEF +5 ACC +15
Lab Coat (Upper Armor) A light, sleeveless lab coat. Two long coattails hang in the back of it, connected to its low-necked collar. The entire coat is made of a synthetic material that seems to reflect light; it gleams in the light, and occasionally, its red patterns appear to give off a faint glow.
Disappears with Ingway when using Invisibility. DEF +40 SPD +20
Pleather Boots (Footwear) A simple pair of boots. They were made to match the black underclothes Ingway wears, composed of similar material. But there is something odd about these boots... when Ingway disappears, so too do the sounds of his footsteps.
Disappears with Ingway when using Invisibility. SPD +20 DEF +2
Clipboard (Accessory/Weapon?) Ingway carries this constantly. It is shiny and black like his underclothes, and it is always thickly stocked with paper. He is not particularly protective of it, despite the fact it usually contains copies of patient files and written reports. Perhaps his terrible handwriting has something to do with this...
Has no special effects. Does not increase any stats.
Fighting Style: Ingway uses Mage tactics. He is a calm, defensive battler, and he uses his speed and Telekinesis to keep his opponent at an arm's length. He will never physically strike them unless cornered, preferring to use Telekinesis and nearby objects to attack -- or Luster Purge in more dire situations.
Trivia:
Ingway is named after a character in Odin Sphere, who also revered his twin sister. He secretly has a strange and slightly dark sense of humor. Ingway suffers from several food allergies: dairy, seafood, tree nuts, and corn. He has also reacted unfavorably to meat in the past, and so refuses to eat it. The symptoms of these allergies range from severe to mild intolerance, with dairy and seafood as his worst. It is rumored that underneath his mask, he actually has a "very sweet face".

Anesha Faeson: Sister, You Shouldn't Be Here... The sweeter of the twins. Ingway tries to act like an older brother to her and shelter her from the more dangerous areas of the Asylum, but ever since childhood, he has considered her to be his role model. In addition to their telepathic link, they have a very close bond. Ingway's twin sister. Perhaps the only person he will turn to for support.
Doctor Janus: Yes, Doctor? One of the Head Doctors. While loyal to him, Ingway does not hold any opinion of him one way or the other; rules are rules, after all, and as Janus' employee he must abide by them. To others, the most he ever mentions about the gods of the Asylum is, "doctor's orders". It is usually unclear which doctor he means. Ingway's employer.
Doctor Ezekiel: Understood, Doctor. One of the Head Doctors. Ingway is as loyal to him as he is to Janus, for the very same reasons: he does not have any opinion of him, and even if he did, rules are still rules. To others, the most he ever mentions about the gods of the Asylum is, "doctor's orders". It is usually unclear which doctor he means. Ingway's other employer.
Shu Ainame: Highly Talkative Vampire Shu has taken to following Ingway around since learning of his status as a nurse. Her comments (and her appearances) seem random, so he is not entirely sure what she wants. Lately, he has settled on ignoring her, while quietly investigating her means of feeding. Considered a possible threat. • First Meeting
Nicanor Katsaros: Megalomaniac Victini Easily discovered by the sound of his unabashedly loud screaming. Ingway was at first wary of Nicanor's abrasive personality starting fights amongst the patients, but notes that the boy currently seems more interested in collecting 'minions'. Considered mildly unsettling, but not a threat. Yet.
Tonny Forte: Suspicious Patient Encountered while taking notes on Nicanor. Like Shu, she isn't shy about confronting Ingway; unlike Shu, she is clearly suspicious of him and his connection to the doctors, at one point threatening to "sing at [him]". (Curious...) Considered a candidate for further research. • First Meeting

Title: Detachment Written On: May 3rd, 2011, edited July 13, 2011 Notes: An edited version of my entry for Ingway in the Twin Nurses RP Contest. Much of it still applies to his personality, but originally, his sister was given a placeholder name and personality -- Vega, hot-headed and justice-minded. I felt it was necessary to think of something for her, at least for this prompt, because she quickly became an integral part of his narrative. It's been edited now to better accommodate Anesha. It isn't as though he has a choice, really. He was given orders. Watch the patient. Do not release her, no matter how much she begs. Or cries, or pleads, or screams -- he adds these once terrible verbs onto the order as a footnote. Before, a lifetime ago, he's certain he would be spurred to act. Now, he watches the patient struggle upon a cold slab of metal with careful detachment, ignoring her futile attempts to claw at the thick leather straps binding her wrists. They're much too tight; he can see the beginnings of bruises forming underneath them, but those are the least of her worries, of course, he thinks as his eyes flicker to her torso. It is mottled with stitches and bandages, and something seems to squirm beneath her skin, like another entity moving on its own. She screams again -- he idly wonders why the doctors hadn't thought to cover her mouth. To test his resolve, perhaps. Make sure he carries through with their demands. Or maybe they enjoy the sounds she makes as she tries desperately to escape.
Ingway does not enjoy them, but will not allow himself to think on them. They are sounds. He will not attach any adjectives to describe them for fear he should start to care. Before, a lifetime ago, his blood would have boiled with anger at the injustice of it all, and he would have done something. He feels nothing now; he cannot afford to, and silently he commands his heart to stop throbbing in his ears like an insistent whisper, willfully steeped in antiquated righteousness like Anesha...
His eyes narrow an infinitesimal fraction behind his mask. His sister and the names they were given are the only things he chose to keep from that old world. "My name is Ingway, and she is Anesha." He had corrected the doctors when they called them 'Latios and Latias', passing his twin a faint smile as though it was nothing but silly idioglossia between them, while internally he was clinging to those names with everything he had.
"What is your name?" The question leaves his lips before he has time to stop it. Ingway is relieved when the patient doesn't answer, too lost in a haze of pain and questionable medication to make sense of anything aside from a primal desire for freedom, and he relaxes in his chair, because he understands that helplessness all too well. It feels like a breakthrough somehow. They understand each other.
He thinks of Anesha and her tender, bleeding heart, and it's all her fault that they chose to stay here, really, despite every terrible thing they had heard -- because she wanted to help them. But Ingway cannot begrudge her for it. Instead, he is quietly thankful that she was not told to watch this patient today. She is far away, innocently counting inventory. If she were here, her fingers would curl over her aching heart, trying so hard to block out her pain and just-stay-calm, but a part of her would cry inside, he knew; he could hear her already, quietly but firmly insisting that they must, they must use their positions to help the patients. Every single patient after this one will slowly wear her down until all her bright-eyed beliefs are lost, and she will have nothing left but her brother and her name. He knows this will happen one day, knows that day draws closer with every night they spend here, but dares to hope he can preserve her a little longer. Ingway cradles his memories of her, knowing that as she is now, Anesha would want him to act.
He thinks of the doctors and their cold smiles, watches the patient whimper and crumple against the metal, boneless and nearly lifeless. Suddenly she is gone and Anesha is lying there instead, and there are those cold, cruel smiles, mocking him.
Ingway blinks the vision away. The patient is still whimpering; he stays in his seat. Understanding her is enough.
It has to be.
