Rolling back in forth in the grass, Yu Zhou was quite enjoying his time in the sun. It was unusual for him to be laying on his back during the daytime, as he still wasn't very fond of the large red ball in the sky, always glaring at him and making fun of Yu. But today, he was in a very good mood - mostly due to the fact that his daughter, Mei-li was with him. She had been the only child of his that actually wanted to stay with him, and he was quite enjoying basking in that fact.
Looking around, he found himself distracted by large petals floating through the sky. They were a sheer purple, with sparkles glimmering off them. "Meeeeei, do you see that? Isn't it pretty?" Even though Yu already knew the answer, he still wanted to ask. He knew very well that his daughter didn't see the things that he saw; he really wished that she could share his world with him, but then again....maybe it was for the best that she didn't.
Rolling over onto his stomach, he looked over at his daughter, a vibrant young female. She seemed rather dazed, like she was deep in thought. "Meeeeeeei." Grinning at her, he slowly crept closer through the grass, until he was up next to her. Together, the two stuck out like a sore thumb with their bright coats. Yu had never minded, but he knew that his daughter probably wished to be a little more subtle.
Sitting upright in the grass, Mei-li felt each blade as it gently ran across her fur. It felt nice and calming, but she wasn't really focused on it. Her thoughts were drifting off, as she let her mind wonder about how her mother was doing, or her other siblings. Mei-li was probably the most down-to-earth of the whole litter, and it was probably that trait that drew her most to her father. They were polar opposites, so it definitely spiced up things in her life.
Sometimes, though, she really wondered about her decision to stay with her father. She was, in fact, old enough to just go off anywhere she pleased - but something always pulled at her, telling her not to leave her father. It wasn't that she had seen anything bad happening to him - it was just a daughter's need to watch over her less-than-sane father. Her biggest fear was if he was to meet a new girl and start a new family. She just didn't want him to mess anything up, really.
Swiveling her ears around, she heard her father's distinct voice. "See what? You know that my bubble's different than yours." Smirking at him, he seemed to be in a fairly good mood. It made her happy, to see him like this. "But if you say it's pretty, than it must be." Closing her eyes for a moment, she laughed a little to herself. He was....interesting.
