It was that time again, her dad was home and he was having a meeting with the laywer for his company. Something had gone wrong and he had been practically ranting about someone who dared try to sue the business. Lily had never remembered these meeting to be so serious, but she figured with her father promotion came changes. She was happy though because she knew there was one definite about these meeting. Alexandre was coming over.

Lily was ready and waiting at the door when the bell rang to grab up the boy and drag him off to the pool, adorned in her favorite bikini and flip flops, she simply couldn't wait to swim and catch up with Alexandre.

As soon as the door opened she politely greeted both him and his mother, but as soon as his mother was ushered away she she hurrying him to the back of the house so they could head out to the pool. "You did bring you swim wear, right?"
PostPosted: Fri Jul 01, 2011 9:34 pm

For a long time his mother had worked for Lily's father. It seemed his mother had gained the man's favor, he didn't know the details. But he did know that he'd made friends with the man's daughter, Lily. It had been a surprise friendship, Alexandre didn't have much in the way of friends. It seemed people in school didn't quite like him, not that he cared about such things.

He knew the moment his mother had left them, to go see her client; and friend, that he'd be dragged off by the red head. He'd had to convince his mother that it was perfectly proper to bring a tote bag with swim trunks and a beach towel in it. His mother hadn't thought it was proper to bring such items to a business meeting, even if it was a house call and he'd be out at the pool. It was summer, he knew he'd be dragged to the pool.

Shifting his shoulder, a blue suede and white leather, Burberry tote bag was given attention for Lily to notice it's presence. "Of course, I wouldn't dare present myself to you without proper attire." He stated, quite primly.

"The only thing I didn't bring were proper attire for my feet." Alexandre would go barefoot, it was normal when he was dragged to the pool by Lily. He'd walk about the pool, and inside the house, with bare wet feet, or dry them on his towel before entering the massive house.

Lily did in fact see the tote bag after it was shifted and grinned when Alexandre answered her question. "I am glad that you have brought your swim wear, but Alex I must say you really ought to bring flip flops one day. The floor in the house is just so cold. My sister insists she needs the air to be up or she will get sick."

Lily shook her head, at the thought of her sister, she loved her and she had great, expensive, but great taste in clothes, but she could be a pain sometimes.

Pushing open the doors to the back of the house, she ushered her friend outside and down the path that led to the massive indoor pool. It was a decent size and their was even a jacuzzi to warm up in even though the pool itself was heated, so it never got to overly cold.

Lily practically skipped along forgoing the behavior she most often displayed. Yes, she was calm, polite and very sweet, but there were time and people her behavior changed for. Alexandre was one of those people.

They were into the pool house in no time and Lily quickly shooed Alex into the bathroom to change.
PostPosted: Fri Jul 01, 2011 10:05 pm

"I dislike the things." He stated, it was true. The ones with straps across them, for males, were tasteless and female ones were too feminine. It was a matter of style for him, simple as that. "Your sister should learn the air doesn't always need to be up, though I will not deny my distaste for the heat. I prefer the temperatures of autumn."

He knew his plants needed the heat and sun the summer provided, and yet he disliked the summer. Spring wasn't bad, autumn was perfect and winter...he'd once told Lily he found Winter the most romantic season. And he still did, it was the perfect time to snuggle with a blanket. It was one of the many things no one but Lily knew about him, he didn't open up and show such depth to anyone else. He had no reason to.

Following behind Lily, at a leisurely pace, he wasn't surprised by her shooing of him. They were that close, having known each other for too many years. Though he'd never take them back, not for anything. "You needn't shoo me like some common teenager." He stated, with all the pomp and arrogance he could muster, even as he headed to the bathroom to change.

When he came out of the bathroom he wore a pair of dark blue swim trunks, they brought out his eye color. They were one of the few items he owned that was not designer labeled. His bag was set on the floor as he stood and watched his friend, the trunks were new as of a week ago. "Do they meet with your approval?"

"Yes, I know, but still I can't help mentioning it. Its not good for any part of your body to experience such drastic changed in temperature. Though I am being silly as we are both about to go for a swim and the water isn't exactly warm."

She smiled as always, Lily was usually smiling, it was one of her many traits that really stood out. "I know you prefer autumn, as do I. There is just something about getting to wear shorts with a cute pair of tights and always being about to grab a cardigan to wrap up in. It is my favorite season." Lily really liked all the seasons because there was something to like about them all, even if she preferred autumn.

She gave an indignant huff at being referred to as common teenager, but her smile broke through to show she wasn't at all excitement and she still waved him off. When he came back out and asked if the trunks met her approval she said, "Brillant, they really match you eyes."

She walked over and grinned, "Lets get in, we have so much to talk about. Like for instant your flowers. How are they doing? And do you need any new plants, our gardener just added a few new varieties, though I do not don't you have several if not all of them.
"
PostPosted: Fri Jul 01, 2011 11:10 pm

"When are you not being silly, in some manner?" He questioned, along with the arching of a blond brow. His slate eyes focused on the other as he spoke. He'd have pointed the same thing, had she not done it first. "Your aware y ou spoke the same thing I was going to say, I assume?" He asked, though he had a feeling she might. Maybe not though.

He saw the good in summer, really he did. He just...didn't like the heat and he disliked wearing shorts. The only good things about summer were the lack of school, and his plants loved it. The heat was oppressive at times, and the idea of sun burn made him wish to be able to hide indoors all summer long. But alas, he could do no such thing as someone would drag him out.

"I'm glad, I thought the same thing." He stated, glad they met her approval. He had a good feel for what colors looked best on him, but it was always nice to have her opinion as well. He valued her opinion, it was why a good deal if the time he'd go shopping he'd have Lily with him. Not that she didn't like shopping either.

"Of course, and my plants are doing well. Unfortunately I did loose one this winter, one of my more favored ones no less. I did feel bad, as if I'd failed it somehow or other." He stated.

He still didn't quite know how the one plant didn't make the winter, when everything else had. He did suspect over watering though. It was almost the only thing he could think of for the cause. "I doubt you'd have it, but perhaps. A wandering jew, it's a creeping plant, purple and green leaves. You remember it." He was sure she did, he was rather fond of it. The colors of the leaves went so nicely together.

"Your gardener has surprised me in the past, though not often. I did get a new orchid though, mail order. Ir arrived two days ago, a blue diamond there called." If he kept going his parents would have to get the money together to expand the green house, he was filling it.

Lily grinned making a face as if to say I have no idea what you are talking about, before going, "only with a select few Tink, only a select few." That wasn't entirely true and she was sure he knew it. Lily was a very friendly girl, but she was usually very polite, unless ticked off and Alexandre had seen it before. Lily stepped out of her character on those occasions.

"And yes I knew you were going to say just that," she said before she had shooed him off and he returned to ask about his trunks. She really did like it when people matched their clothes to their eyes. It was an odd quirk, but she thought it was cool. That and she rarely ever did it herself, with dual colored eyes, it got to be a bit much.

Lily slid into the pool, as Tink talked, shivering slightly at the cool water hitting her skin, but still she listened giving a frown at hearing his plant died. "Oh I really liked that one," she said with a pout," and I do not think we have that in our garden either, but maybe and then you won't have to buy another."

She grinned listening to him speak about his new plant with a big grin, she loved how Alex loved plants almost as much as she love music. "Oh that is amazing. I will have to make a trip over it has been to long and now that I have a license I can come more often. I can even sing for you plants, I learned a lot of new songs, since we last saw one another."

Pulling a face, something like a pout and a frown, combined with a wince, at the nickname. His mother had given him that name a long time ago, after he'd told his mother he was not a pixie; even if he was small for his age. Tink had seemed to stick, and Lily had known the nickname for a long time. And he knew very well that her being silly, only for a select few, was utter nonsense. Though he also had the privilege, maybe, of seeing her angry. That had been a rather...intimidating experience, and he hadn't been the one to anger her either.

Joining her in the pool, a small shiver running up along his spine, he settled in at her side and nodded. "If you have one all I'd need is a cutting." Some plants could grow from a cutting, a wandering jew was one of them. "I know you liked it, I remember when I first showed it to you." That had been a nice afternoon, autumn, and he'd asked her over. He'd just finished filling a tin of tea for her, with the amount of plants he had he did make Lily tea blends from time to time. She had, as usual, wanted to see the green house and thus the spotting of his latest purchase.

"If I have to go searching for one, you can join me." Who knows, she may purchase something herself.

Focusing on his friend, a small smile came to his lips, slate eyes staring in to dual colored eyes. They were a very interesting feature of hers. He knew of Lily's odd quirk for people who matched to eye colors, something he did at times. He couldn't always, he wasn't always able to get something he liked in a fitting color.

"You do, it has indeed been too long. You'll have to give me a run down of the songs you've learned." He wasn't surprised, she always seemed to learn something new musically.

She grinned nodding, before going under to soak her red curls and coming back up. Her hair dripped and she shivered lightly, but she did not really mind at all. "As soon as we have finished our swim we can run up to the garden and see what been added."

She lay back in the water floating in no particular direction, "and if you have to go searching for one you know I will be right there with you. I need to look at plants for when I move. I am getting my own place for college, as soon as my parents okay it, though they see how determined I am and haven't said no yet. I have the place all picked out and everything. I saw my mom looking over the information yesterday. I am sure they will agree. You will help me start up a new garden, wont you?"

She stopped floating and looked at her friend, standing further away now, "as for song. I have learned so many, but I have to say Firework and Little Wonders are my loves right now. I could sing either just as much as I sing Once upon a December."

Watching her go under, and break the surface, Alex heard her words before he did as she'd just done. His blond hair, still tied back, wet and darker in color. His bangs clung to the sides of his face. Drips of water clung to his eye lashes, till he blinked.

"That sounds good, I'd like that." Thankfully he could go barefoot, no stones or anything like that along the way. "Your own place, like on campus or an apartment. What do you have in mind?" This was the first time he was hearing about this, and he was interested; very interested. "I can sleep over, and watch movies with you, if you have your own apartment." He said, that was appealing; very much so.

She already had a place picked out, he felt a little hurt but even more interested. "Of course, you think I'd let you set up a garden all on your own. I'll even find you the perfect house warming plant." He wasn't sure what sort of plant, not yet. But he'd find something perfect for her.

"You know my love for classical pieces, at least when done right." He stated, with a rolling of his eyes at her. "Modern songs...I'm not surprised with you." Shaking his head he sent a small wave of water her way.

Lily grinned and nodded her head, "An apartment or well actually a nice townhouse with a backyard since I intend to bring Eamon'. Oh right, Eamon', you remember the dog I told I always took care of at the shelter. I decided to adopt him. He is asleep in my room right now. A lazy thing he is. But, I digress, yes of course you can sleep over and watch movies. Whenever you want," she said excitedly her eyes bright with mirth.

She nodded excitedly when her Alex said he would help with the garden and of course ideas flowed into her overly excited head, "oh maybe we can even put a pond in the back with water lilies in it. Do you think that would work? You know how I love lilies, they are my name sake. Well mostly," she said as her name technically was Lilliana, but she was still named for the flower as Rose and Xander both were as well, for roses and the circle flower alexander themselves.

Her eager smile turned to a pout when he said he wasn't surprised with her modern song, "awww Alex, you know I love all music, all music. Its just my parents classicaled me so much when I was young and yes I know that is not a real word." She gave a small squeak as she was pelted with droplets of water from Alex's hair. She ducked under with a grinned and quickly tugged at Alex's feet to pull him under before swimming a bit away and coming back up.

"I do remember the dog, and I'm not surprised in the least. I could tell, from the beginning, you'd wind up adopting him." He stated, with a rolling of his eyes. He could read it in her, the dog had won her over fast. It had only been a matter of time before she adopted him, and he'd indeed been right in his thoughts about the dog and his friend.

"I'm almost tempted to ask if I can move in, once I graduate. It's not that I don't like living at home and such. But you know how it is, wanting to get away from the parents." He had a good relationship with his parents, he'd never had many problems with them. It was simply the whole teenager thing, wanting to escape the nest. Not to mention he wouldn't have to worry over watching whatever he wanted to on tv, and he'd be living with a friend which was a novel idea.

"A pond...you'd have to call special people. One of the nursery's I go to does ponds, I don't know if they do custom shapes. I know they have pre-made shapes they can install. Are you thinking of frogs or koi to go with the pond, the lilies would be nice. I know they have those at the nursery." He had several plant nursery's he went to, all of which were on his contact list.

"If I have to find a wandering jew I'll have to go there. We can go together and you can find someone to talk to about the pond idea." It was a good idea actually. Fountains and ponds helped cool things off in the summer, it was why in Spain they had fountains all over the place.

He'd have said something, about the made up word, but he didn't get to. Feeling her hands wrap about his feet he took a quick breath, right before he went under. His eyes closed as he went under, but opened once he was under the surface. Spying Lily he swam after her, intent to get his hands on her. He wasn't sure if he'd tickle her, or push her under further, but he would get her.

Lily rolled her eyes figuring Alex would think so, although she herself did not know what took her so long to decide to about Eamon' or what was taking her so long to find him a companion. She didn't say anything, it had been rather obvious that she was attached to Eamon, she really did love the dog.

She gave a grin at Alex's words saying, "Mi casa es su casa, for now and for always. I mean really that what best friends are for, you can come stay any time even move in if you want. You know I won't mind. I don't mind living with my parents either, but I really want to try living on my own even if they are buying the townhouse ...," she sighed," at least I will be work to pay for the lights and stuff."

Lily nodded as Alex talked about the pond and the nursery, her face taking on a more serious expression. She didn't want to miss something important after all she was serious about setting up a garden and having a pond. She simply couldn't wait, she just hoped her parents really would agree, sometimes she failed to remember no matter how much they considered it, they still hadn't decided yet.

"Either way we will end up at the nursery even if you find a wandering jew in my garden, so we might as well just pick a day," she said with a grin. That was of course before she had pulled Alex under and come back up only to see Alex was still under and headed straight for her. She tried to get away, but only half-heartedly.
PostPosted: Sun Jul 10, 2011 8:32 pm

"That would also be why I'd like to move out. It's one of many reasons, but wanting to try and see if I can make it on my own is one of them." He was sure she knew his other reasons, he'd complained about things to her enough. "Maybe when I turn seventeen I'll move in, maybe not. But I will eventually. I just hope I can bring my plants with me." He'd turn her townhouse into a jungle, or something closely resembling one.

"When I do move in." It wasn't a question of if, he'd decided in an instant that he would. "I'll take up a job." Something he'd normally find utterly beneath him, but he wouldn't leave her to pay everything so he could live a cushy life. It simply wasn't the proper way to treat a friend. "I'm sure one of the nursery's I frequent wouldn't have an issue with hiring me." He knew enough about plants after all. Not to mention the discounts he could surely get. Maybe he should have thought about this sooner?

Grabbing her legs he pulled her down. Popping back up, grinning happily, the blond swam away. Best to surface and make sure he wouldn't see the pools bottom any time soon, so they could continue to talk and plan. He had a lot of thoughts going through his head. Now when he got home, whenever that was, he'd be writing out all kinds of ideas for Lily and her backyard, the pond, and anything else which came to mind.

She surely knew what hole she'd dug herself into, right?

Lily went on under making sure to hold her breath and came back up with a pout on her lips, but she grinned after only just a minute. "Okay back to the previous conversation," she said before swimming to the side of the pool.

"Firstly, of course you can bring you plants. I could hardly separate you from them, wouldn't want to either. I like your plants their so pretty and you're so good with them. That being said you'd have to build a green house because I don't want Eamon' thinking he can use the bathroom indoors."

She leaned back against the side of the pool, head back, curls pooling on the concrete floor. "Secondly, I bet you could run you own nursery. You know more about plants that anyone I know, but you are right, no doubt any nursery would hire you and you would make the plants flourish and you will sell so many."

Lily sighed it was crazy because she knew exactly what Alex was going to do to her home, but she could care less. She would much prefer a jungle with her best friend, than a single potted plant and visiting every so often.

"Oh that reminds me, I am going to invite a bunch a friends up to my parents cabin sometime in August. I promise to send the exterminator up a few days before we are to head up, so you will consider coming, right? I bet you will really like everyone, plus you'll have access to mountain plants for at least a whole week."

Yes she was bribing him, but Alex plus the possibility of spiders equals not likely, so she needed to distract his thoughts from going down that road.
