Maia waited patiently for her cousin to show. She had not seen him in several months and during camp she had sent him a letter saying she would wait outside his door all day to talk to him. Now, however, she was very extremely glad that she had not had to do so. It would have been extremely awkward and she did not want to explain to random passers by what she was doing.
She had a lot of things to tell her cousin and while one she had already told Jaimie, she wanted to make sure Xavier was told before anyone else. Blood was thicker than water, she would like to think, even if the pair hardly knew each other.
She looked through the tree of the park hoping desperately for a quiet patrol so that she could talk to her cousin, though she doubted she would be so lucky. She often felt like a youma magnet and it seemed they were alone getting stranger and stranger like the octopus skunk. She never wanted to encounter one again and she never wanted to take another tomato bath as long as she lived.
Maia looked feeling another senshi approaching, but was a bit confused because she could have swore Themis' power was less.

Yes, there was another senshi approaching, and in spite of Maia's confusion, this was indeed the senshi he was looking for.
The meeting had Themis... well, apprehensive. But he had said he would stop running. That meant from everything, and so he had gotten the letter and gotten in touch with Lily when she came back from camp.
He was still holding out that Bell had been wrong, that the agent had lied to her, that Maia of all people hadn't... Well. He remembered that night. Too well, actually.
The giant youma. The feeling of darkness coursing through him... He shuddered, then finally jumped down to meet up with Maia proper.
To say a blind man couldn't have missed these buttwings were an understatement.

Maia turned quickly when her cousin jumped down and her jaw literally dropped, but she quickly recovered herself and smiled, even as jealousy coursed through her. Polaris, Europa and now Themis too. It was like rubbing it in her face that she had made a bad choice, the wrong choice.
"Congratulations Themis. Eternal, wow that is quite the accomplishment," she said grinning. She really wanted to hug her cousin, but she wasn't really sure she should, still she went up to him and hugged him anyway.
"Boy have I missed you," she said releasing him and moving back. She continued to grin and it was probably as obvious to Themis as it was to Polaris that something with Maia had changed.
"Come on then, the night isn't going to patrol itself and we have a lot to take about," she said heading into the park.

The hug was awkward. It wasn't Maia's fault, really. The only person he ever got close and personal to was Bellatrix. Other than that, he just wasn't much for physical contact.
"I don't know, I think these damn things are visible from space." He gave a disgruntled look at his wing bows. Who's damn idea was these, anyway ? He had a few choice... words to share with them, yes.
Well, that almost wasn't foreboding at all. Nonetheless, Themis fell into step beside his cousin and seemed content to let her lead the way.

Maia didn't mind or notice the awkwardness, hell Europa had gotten the same reaction from Maia herself with the other had hugged her. She could hardly blame her cousin. She laughed when she her cousin complained about the butt wings, "I think the wings add a little spice. I really do not understand how one can fight in them, but I guess I will find out eventually."
Maia was going in no particular direction and for a few moment she was simply quiet not really saying anything, but as they got a bit further into the park she decided she might as well start with her biggest piece of news. She looked to her cousin clearing her throat slightly and said it just like that. "I am quitting the Blood Moon Court. After the next meeting we have I will officially resign, although I would say I haven't actually been a member for several weeks now. I have not shown up to any training and for me to check in after patrol is rare. I only do so every so often, so that they will not look for me."
She looked up to the sky and sighs, "I think everyone pretty much gets the point, though I am not entirely certain. After ... everyone has been ..."

...That was actually a relief, really. To hear that. He nodded to her statement, continuing to walk alongside her. "I won't say im not happy to hear that... Because I am. I've... heard things." He had no idea if they were true - had not seen anything from his own eyes, and he was innately leaning to question whatever a negaverse agent had said was true or not. They were two opposing side, even if human as a base - was it really beyond them to lie to try to cause infighting ?
"There... is no Basterds anymore, through. At least I don't think so. I havn't heard much from Europa in some time." Truth was that it felt like a betrayal, being let down like this, having his support gone without so much. But he didn't want to get into this in much detail, and his tone of voice made it evident. "Mostly im just... doing my own thing."

Maia shook her head, "I do not know what you have heard, but I will say that it has made me realize where I stand and this war and I will say that I absolutely do not stand for what happened."
There was no use talking about what happened Maia had already spilled twice and it would endanger her if anyone was to every find out. She sincerely hoped Polaris wouldn't tell. That slip was a moment of weakness and Polaris now knew more than was safe for her to know.
Maia nodded at what her cousin said, yes she had known about the team breaking up and yes she still felt like it was a lot her fault. She muttered an appology and looked away for moment before speaking again.
"I am not really sure what I will do next, but I do know, I made a bad decision and right now I want to make amends. Yes, it made me a stronger senshi, but it cost me more than I gained. I really think though that I will keep up what I have been doing lately, which is training with Chaonis and helping train Chibi Ixion. You?"

Themis nodded, apparently glad that he wasn't getting any details. Sometimes ignorance was bliss. Hearing it secondhand was one thing... But it wasn't sure if he could deal with Maia telling him that everything he'd been told was true. No, he preferred staying in the dark in this aspect, preferred to think that the nega might have lied to Bellatrix.
There was already enough hurt in between them.
"I've been helping out senshi I met during patrols. No one specific, just whoever I meet." He said with a small nod. "Beside that... patrolling, pretty much." And fixing his life from the ground up, but he preferred to keep that unsaid.

Maia nodded it seemed her cousin was not having to hard a time with being a senshi currently, but she did wonder if there was something he wasn't saying. She of course had things she wouldn't, shouldn't, and even couldn't tell him, so she wouldn't ask.
"Do you ever think you will join another team, or even being an eternal now, make you own," she asked decided for the moment to stick to senshi business. They would get to the other stuff later, one thing at a time for now.

"I..." The question had seemed to have taken him off-guard. It wasn't something he had ever thought about. Another team ? Making a team ? "I don't know." He admitted, shrugging. "I seem to be doing okay for now, so I guess I'll just see what happens ?"
Truth was that, perhaps, he just plain wasn't ready yet.

Maia shook her head and put her hand on her cousin's shoulder, "No need to flounder Themis. There's no rush right? Your so loyal and well I bet when it finally happens you will have a lovely team and you will be a good leader. I got confidence in you cousin."
Maia looked back up to the sky and then she remembered. "I have two more things I want to speak with you about. The first is Maia, my planet. I wanted to know if maybe you would like to see it someday. They trees on Maia they are beautiful and they sing. They sing when you touch them. I have so idea what it is that they are singing, not many actual words, but it is amazing."
She grinned obviously happy and bubbly, it had been to long since she had talked to her cousin and she felt so happy in the moment. "And the other was in my letter. I wasn't sure if you would want to come, but I thought you might and I would really love to have you there Themis."

It was kind of endearing, how Maia had more faith in him that he'd ever had in himself. He knew he was no leader, or at least that was what he'd always throught.
But on Themis, he'd certainly been... something, right ?
"i've never been to anyone else's planet before." Well, star, asteroid, whatever. "That could be fun. Themis is... cold, there's ice everywhere, and it echoes..." It was hard to explain it, really.
And then Maia continued, and Themis found himself struggling to recall what exactly she was talking about. He'd read the letter once and then called her once she was back, and now he was drawing a blank. Where she was suddenly so happy, Themis now looked a bit confused. "Im not too sure I remember what's the other thing about ?"

Maia thought Themis sounded it very interesting and she grinned at her cousin, "I have never been to someone else's planet either, but I really thought you might like mine. Yours certainly explains you fuku, you have a lot a fabric, but it would necessary on Themis wouldn't it. I bet the echos are amazing, could you imagine what your music would sound like there, or my singing. Oh I bet it would be simply amazing."
Maia laughed and tried herself to recall exactly what she had written, was it in the actual letter of the P.S. part. She had written so many letter it was a blur, but she was certain she had written about the trip, either way she was quick to explain.
"Sorry, I wrote a ton of letter and my explanation, er invitation were rather short. I am planning a trip to my parents cabin in the mountains some time in august. It would be for one week or two and it would be a nice break from the going on in destiny city. I know we have a duty, but even the police take a vacation, right? I invited many people already, a few friends of mine I'm not sure you know, though you could, as well as Regulus, though I am not sure he will be able to come, and I wish to invite Polaris as well, but I havent gotten the chance to talk to her just yet. We are all so busy with her contest." Her words were hushed it was obvious she being careful not to be accidentally overheard.

"That would probably be quite something..." Hell, if just the wind could do something like it did...
Poor Themis made such a face through, when she laughed. It wasn't his fault he couldn't recall ! Really !
But then she said it, and it seemed to come back to his mind. Oh, yes, that... Indeed. He'd read that, but had dismissed it for the exact reason he was about to tell her. "Im covering for the full-timers at work most of august, when they all go on vacation, so I don't think... Unless..." His face turned pensive. "Is it really far from here ? My car's fixed so if it's just a few hours away, I could at least come for the weekends ? Arrive on friday night leave on sunday night ?"

Maia grinned and nodded, now she wanted to go to Themis too, though the short skirt was a deterrent from her voicing this, she had no desire to be frozen in the middle of July.
"Oh that sucks doesn't it, but I guess it would be okay for you to come for the weekends. I do not know really its kind of far, um on the outskirts up in the mountains, long drive, but not more than two or three hours I do not think. Its up to you, if you think you can make it then I am sure everyone will love to have you."
She smiled, how Lily could be so easy with her cousin so quickly despite them not talking and having air between them was a mysterious especially since the girl if she wanted to could hold one hell of a grudge.
"But you have time to think about that, right now. Right now, we should be patrolling or training or you know something senshi related right?"
