First of all I assume that many of you have played or at least get he general idea of DA:O. This is an achievement guide after all, I will be giving you tips/hints to assist you in getting achievements NOT walking you through the game.

Anybody can get most of the achievements in one FULL playthrough of the game. Many of you may not want to do this. You will need new characters for the origin stories of course. Having awakening also saves helps as well otherwise you will need at least 3 playthroughs. You will also need another playthrough of he opposite gender to get all the romance achievements. I recommend that you play as a female romancing Allistair, Leliana and Zevran. (You may not like this plan and that's fine with me but it is easier if you want all the achievements quickly) Then as a male romancing Morrigan since she is easier to romance than Allistair therefore saving you some time.

^That's just In my opinion though. By all means do the romance anyways you want. PS. Invest in coercion.

Before you start, I recommend that you play as a Warrior using sword and shield or a Mage (Spirit Healer/Arcane Warrior) If you plan on getting all the achievements. These 2 particular builds will be useful in killing a particular boss.
Also note that there will be SPOILERS.

Last of the Wardens: 20G
Complete Ostagar

*You should’ve already gotten…
Grey Warden: 20G
Kill 100 Darkspawn
-You kill quite a bit of darkspawn during Ostagar but if you do miss it you’ll get it later.

Complete a chanters board quest
-These are fairly easy as well complete all of them in lothering to get…..

-You wont get this right away in lothering but its still good to finish all of them since you won’t be able to return afterwards.

Part 4. Lake Calenhad docks/ Circle tower. "Haters in my tower..."
I decided to do recruit the mages first but you can do this in any order.

2 achievements worth 20G each. Total of 40G
Right after you defeat Uldred you are give a brief pause before talking to the first enchanter. SAVE YOUR GAME. Talk to Irving and return back downstairs. Choose the outcome you do not want first then reload the previous save and choose the one you do want and move on. You will get both achievements.

Agreeing with the templar gets you…
Annulment Invoker.
Sided with the templars in “Broken Circle”

Disagreeing with the templar and sympathizing with the mages gets you…
Magic Sympathizer.
Sided with the mages in “Broken Circle”

Part 5. Orzammar “Politics, gotta love it….who am I trying to kid?!”
4 achievements. 20G each. 80G in total.

Just after beating the rotating head thing. SAVE YOUR GAME. Don not overwrite this save. Shortly after you we’ll encounter Caridin and Branka. Side with Caridin to preserve the Anvil or Branka to destroy it. Do whichever you do not want first reload the save before and choose the outcome you want. You will get:

Pragmatist: 20G
Preserved the anvil of the void

Liberator: 20G
Destroyed the anvil of the void

Yet again before you leave, SAVE YOUR GAME. Do not overwrite this. Leave. You will be called upon to decide the next king regardless of who you sided with. You know the deal, choose the one you don’t want and then reload and continue on.

Sided with Behelen in “Paragon of her Kind”

Part 6. The Brecillian Forest “Why isn’t my silverite blade working?!”
2 achievements worth 20G. 40G total. You need a good amount of coercion to get one of them. 2 or 3 points worth.

Right before talking to Witherfang, SAVE YOUR GAME. You should know how things go by now. Talk to witherfang and whe you get the option to *Kill the elves* pick it. You need a high enough coercion to succeed. For doing this you get

Slayer: 20G
Sided with the werewolves in “Nature of the beast”

Now reload your save. Redo the conversation in a more peaceful manner. Talk to Zathrian. Side with him and kill all the werewolves. You get…

Poacher: 20G
Sided with the elves in “Nature of the beast”
PostPosted: Mon Jul 11, 2011 1:13 pm

Part 7. Redcliffe “Also with brown, orange and tints of yellow”

Part 8. Haven “We’re basically looking for a jar of dust”
3 achievements you can get here. 2 worth 20G, 1 worth 30G. Total of 70G. Bring poultices, lots of poultices

When you meet the cultists, be friendly with them and accept their offer to pour the dragons blood into the ashes. Don’t worry you don’t actually have to do it though but achievements sake… Anyways accept their offer and head up to temple. Go through the trials and right before you approach the urn, SAVE YOUR GAME. You know the deal. Make your choice then reload.

Ceremonialist: 20G
Defied the cult of andraste in “Urn of Sacred ahes”

Sacrilegous: 20G
Sided with the cult of andraste in “Urn of sacred ashes”

As you leave ring the gong over there. Now kill that dragon. On casual it should be pretty easy. If you’re a mage, even easier. Have the poultices ready to go.

Dragon-Slayer: 30G
Kill the dragon guarding the Urn of sacred ashes

Now after you have everybody allied with your cause, you will get …

Standard-Bearer: 20G
Use all the treaties to recruit all possible allies.

Part 10. The Landsmeet “Warden, show the man your fine ways of diplomacy”
1 achievement worth 20G.

Okay, right now is very important. Before you enter the door SAVE YOUR GAME. Do not overwrite this AT ALL COSTS. We will call that “SAVE A”. Hopefully you convinced Anora to marry Allistair or something like that. During the landsmeet you will need 2 different outcomes. After that save each of these SEPARATELY.

We will name our first outcome “SAVE B” Do not overwrite this. Here you must have these things happen.

SAVE B
Allistair: He must be in your party
Loghain: He must be dead
Either Allistair rules alone or with Anora or with you if you’re a female human noble who romanced him.

Reload SAVE A and go through the landsmeet again. Now we have “SAVE C” Do not overwrite this.

SAVE C
Allistair: He must leave the party
Loghain: He must be alive. DO NOT KILL HIM. (Even though you want to)
Anora rules alone or with you if you’re a male human noble

Assuming you haven’t killed or made any of your party members leave. (Except Allistair here). You will get..

Recruiter: 25G
Across all playthroughs, recruit all possible party members

Aren’t you glad you have extra save spots?

Now keep these saves in separate slots. Do not overwrite them at all costs. Now I will walk you through the final battle using SAVE B first

Rabble-Rouser: 20G
Complete the Landsmeet.
PostPosted: Fri Jul 15, 2011 2:01 am

Part 11. The Final Battle “This battle will be anything but the final…for you anyways.”
This is going to be pretty long...
Starting from SAVE B.

The landsmeet is over and you are instructed to go to Redcliffe again. Kill the darkspawn and enter the castle. After that Riordan will have some words with you. He’ll give you his explanation and you will be instructed to go to your room. Before you enter, SAVE YOUR GAME. This will be “SAVE D”

Morrigan offers you the ritual. Now heres is the requirements of SAVE D

SAVE D
You must accept Morrigan’s offer for the ritual

Now reload SAVE B.

SAVE B *Update
Allistair: He must be in your party
Loghain: He must be dead
Either Allistair rules alone or with Anora or with you if you’re a female human noble who romanced him.
The Warden: YOU MUST REJECT MORRIGANS RITUAL.

Now while your still on SAVE B without the ritual, SAVE YOUR GAME.

The final battle begins.

Go through the battle at gate, followed by the market, followed by alienage, followed by the side battle, get into Fort Drakon, and so on… ( I really don’t want to walk you through this step by step). Anyways at the end of Fort Drakon you will encounter a Hurlock emissary, 2 ogres, and several chests with supplies in them. You will fight the archdemon upon going up those stairs and through the door so SAVE YOUR GAME IN A SEPARATE SLOT. Call this “SAVE E”

If you did not use your armies in the advanced command menu, you are guaranteed…

Defender: 20G
Preserved the lives of half the troops at Denerim.

You can use your armies, just don’t let them die.

DO NOT TOUCH SAVE E YET.

Fight the archdemon. Kill the archdemon. Allistair will confront you. Here you let him kill the archdemon. Watch the final cutscene roll and save your game.

Reload SAVE E.
Now kill the archdemon again. This time, kill it yourself. You get the achievement…

The Ultimate Sacrifice: 50G
Made the ultimate sacrifice in the defense of Ferelden.

Save your game.

Lets Recap our saves so far.

SAVE A
Before the landsmeet.
-You will not need this anymore but keep it in case.

SAVE B [Completed]
Post-Game

SAVE C
After landsmeet.
Loghain is a party member.

SAVE D
Before the final battle
Allistair lives
You have accepted Morrigan’s offer

SAVE E [Completed]
Post-Game
You are dead. (Not very fun In my opinion)

Load SAVE D. Run through the final battle again. Save your game during your post coronation. You will get…

A Dark Promise: 50G
Defeat the archdemon, and through a ritual with Morrigan, spared your own life

Save Update

SAVE A
Before the landsmeet.
-You will not need this anymore but keep it in case.

SAVE B [Completed]
Post-Game
Allistair Dies killing the Archdemon

SAVE C
After landsmeet.
Loghain is a party member.

SAVE D [Completed]
Post-Game
Accepted Morrigans offer and lived

SAVE E [Completed]
Post-Game

Now for the Final Run. Load SAVE C. Same as before, after talking to Riordan in Redcliffe SAVE YOUR GAME . (Separate slot if you wish to to the ritual and have Loghain alive.) DO NOT DO THE RITUAL. Go through the Final Battle. (hopefully for the last time). Kill the archdemon. Loghain will confront you instead of Allistair. Allow Loghain to kill the Archdemon. Save your game after the cutscene. You should get…

Perfectionist: 50G
Across all playthroughs, discovered all possible endings.

That’s it for the story achievements, now here are the ones you should’ve gotten along the way.

Part 12. Other Achievements.

I) Combat “Kill them all!”

Master Warden: 25G
Kill 500 Darkspawn.
-You’ll get this as you play through the game.

Blight-Queller: 25G
Kill 1000 Darkspawn
-A bit more tedious but doable. Use Awakening and other DLC, otherwise start another playthrough.

Heavy Hitter: 10G
Main character inflicted 250 damage in one hit.
-Tough to do. Arrow of slaying might work for this or the berserker’s Final blow. Anyways there’s an easier way to do this in awakening which I will explain later on.

II) Class “RPG’s take from Final Fantasy one way or another…”

Veteran: 25G
Main character learned a specialization.
-You get a specialization point at levels 7 and 14. You can unlock specializations by buying them or by talking to certain party members.

Elite: 30G
Main Character learned two specializations
-You’ll get this one at level 14.

*Note: The achievements Master of Arms, Archmage, and Shadow require 3 playthroughs to get however if you have Awakening they will be much easier.

III) Skill “It’s not a major requirement here.”

Tinkerer: 10G
Crafted something.
-Very simple. Take control of somebody that has the herbalism skill. Buy some elfroot and flask or something and make yourself a basic poultice and you get this.

IV) Conversation “Let words be your weapons”
Hopefully, you took my advice and invested in Coercion.

Persuasive: 10G
Suceeded at 5 difficult persuasion events.
-If you have a high enough coercion, you can choose the dialogue options that are italicized as [Persuade]
Succeed at this 5 times.

Silver-Tongued: 25G
Succeed at 25 difficult persuasion events.
-Same as above.

Bully: 10G
Succeed in 5 intimidation events.
-Same as Persuasive but intimidation draws from your strength rather than cunning. Choose the options that are italicized as [Intimidation] Succeed at this 5 times

Menacing: 20G
Succeed at 10 intimidation events
-Same as above but do it 10 times

V) Other “For the things I couldn’t place anywhere else.”

Educated: 15G
Use a tome.
-Buy a tome from Bodahn and use it. Simple as that.
