A Wandering Esper

Beloved Stargazer

Alunite had been in a bit of a funk, through he had done a good job covering it. The excitement of his 'promotion' quickly faded after being handed a good dose of reality after seeing the door and what had rested behind it...

It was a reminder of his place, of the fact that he was different. The fact that he might never truly belong. He wasn't truly a warrior of earth, but he certainly did not want to belong with the senshi. Anything but that.

How much of the devastation of the rift had he personally caused ? The simple thought made him ill.

So he'd set out to prove himself. Do anything to prove that he was better than them, that he was not whatever monster he might have been in the past. He'd set himself a quota similar to Fluorite and did his best to reach, if not exceed it.

Given that he had no influx from lieutenants like his sister, this wasn't going too hot. But tonight he had done good process, managed quite a few.

They were all safely hidden in his sleeves as he climbed the side of a building after hiding his latest victim, stopping for a breather. Just a few seconds...

And he needed someone to turn these in soon, else he would be forced to teleport to turn them in himself. The aura was starting to be noticeable.

If he had sought him out... or if it was pure chance it was hard to say. There was no sign of inflection of intent in his face. He was simply there, not one moment and then quite suddenly... perhaps he'd had a good vantage point, because he seemed assured of his location, and his gaze was steady.

He give and ever so civil nod and sat down carefully, extending his legs out before him and propping his hands behind It made him look nearly as young as he did with that dark swatch of fabric pulled away from his face. Casual too.. something he never quite looked in uniform.
"Alunite..." he said in way of greeting and acknowledgement. "... You've been busy." He said and sounded at least pleased in regards to that.

"I hope I'm not interrupting..." he added more softly. A gentle nudge of intent, Alunite had not quite looked 'alright' since the rift... He respected the young man's sister, and as such he wished to believe the best of her brother...it was no fault of theirs the nature of his birth... no more so than it was Lyra's fault that she became host to such an...alien infection one might say.

Under all that was a young man and a young woman who was cared enough for...by someone of the Dark Kingdom that they had been 'saved' in so much as they could be. Beyond that... what could be done?

It was always a startle, when he did that. One second there was nowhere, then the next, the general was right beside him. He tensed a bit, but then relaxed once he caught on what exactly had happened.

"No, it's allright. I was thinking of turning these in, anyway." And there meant the orbs he fished out of his sleeves and handed over carefully. To have one break now, after an evening's work... would be rather upsetting indeed.

To be frank, he had no idea why Zinkenite was here, but he didn't question it.

The pearly spheres vanished inside the long coat, some secret pockets to keep them from intermingling from where he pulled out his weaponry. That was one disadvantage to the size of the crystals he now wielded.

"If you don't quite mind my saying so... you look like hell." He said almost flippantly. Casual, conversational... friendly perhaps. "Do I assume right that you and Lyra took the Rift and all the stories behind it particularly hard?"

It was just a guess... but sometimes such things were worth airing out. Sometimes people responded.

The words seemed to surprise him. No one save his sister had really seemed to notice, or even care to notice, with Painite gone to camp still. They said absence only made the heart grow fonder, but it only made him feel more miserable.

"..,Well im not too sure who Lyra is..." He was indeed confused. He only knew her as Ammolite - never having been introduced to her true name at all. "...But i'd be lying to say it didn't affect me." He sighed. "I hate thinking that I might have had a hand in all this in the past..."

He'd never know for sure - perhaps that was the worst of it.
PostPosted: Sat Jul 02, 2011 5:46 pm

"Ah...yes, sorry...Ammolite..." he said with a small wave of his hand like he dusted away the name 'Lyra'. "She has abandoned the name she started with... she... lost a great deal to come to us, It's lucky...very lucky that you could come to us without ever having been awakened into -their- terms." He shook his head with a moments blaze of fury in his eyes before turning back.

"... whatever happened in the past, is long dead and gone...you can not change that by wishing or praying. What you CAN do.... is keep those of them who DID awaken to them, and REFUSE to see the truth of it from doing that again... Don't worry about 'might have done'...you need to concern yourself with "Will do."

"Oh !" Yeah, now he got it. "Ammolite... yeah..." He figured he had to be taking it twice as hard as he was - made him feel even more guilty, in a way, really. "How is she doing... ?" There was worry in his tone, much like a big brother worrying about a little sister. Zinkenite knew the feeling, most likely.

This was something Alunite found himself struggling with - letting go of a past he would never know, and that he perhaps would never know. Whatever hints of what might be could create perhaps loose ideas, but there was no way to realize if they were true.

He wasn't sure if the general in front of him could truly understand. "Yes, General." He simply said. He knew that Zinkenite was right - he just couldn't bring himself to look away from the black hole that was the past to truly let it sink in.

"Better... she remembers more... she acts more like her old self..." He said quietly. "...doesn't remember... any of her life before the day we 'corrupted' her though... she never will. I can't tell her because it might... let them take her again. It might turn her back from the ...sweet person who fought for what she believed in to a young woman willing to torture and kill.... "

It was intended as a shake up, sometimes the only way to make someone realize that life wasn't so bad...was to point out it could be so much worse.
"When you're done with your melodrama... I've a proposal for you..."

"I see..." It was indeed a shake up, with visible reactions even through he had tried to do his best to control them. It was hard to imagine Ammolite as... as...

Well. That.

And to think that Fluorite had come so close to being in this position... No, better not to think about that. It broke his heart just to think about it.

He huffed a bit at the word melodrama - what did he look like, a teenage girl ?! But otherside said nothing else about that. "What kind of proposal ?"

It piqued his curiosity, to say the least.

"I'm looking for people to start... a team for lack of a better word, another team... I won't force you into Queen's Gambit or the teams associated with it..." He shook his head. "This is...something else." He glanced out over the city, the grind and the grime of it, cars carved paths of light down highways like blood flowing through concrete and asphalt veins and arteries.

"I want to... make a team that's focused on information, gathering it, using it... both on the senshi, and on the negaverse -itself-. I want information on everyone from Lieutenant and up, I want what they can do best, I want what they do worst, I want to know who's looking ripe for promotion.. I want the names and powers of every senshi we can nail down so that we can give that information TO people who will be best able to at -least- counter and at best -utterly- remove those senshi...Let other people make the teams to take them down...but I want to hear the whispers and the secrets... all of them... and I want you to be part of that.... if you're willing."

The words definitively had his interest, and he listened intently. He... wanted him ? He had no idea why, truly - he wasn't the most aware of officers around, if he could be called an officer at all.

But still, it was... flattering that someone had thought of him, noticed him. He hadn't gotten an offer for a team before, through he knew Fluorite had her own.

"Im not too sure how good I would do but... I would like to help." He said with a nod. "I can organize information, at the very least..."
PostPosted: Sun Jul 03, 2011 5:56 am

"Organizing information if you are as good as I hope will be of great value to you... you have eyes ears and wits. Those three things will serve you very well if you join me in the War Room.

He paused rolling a bit of grit with the toe of his boot, almost a distracted thing. He counted out the heartbeats before he continued. "And you have power... that you should not underestimate either."
He nodded slightly. "Your... sphere as they call it, can you think of a better one for getting us and ours safely away after gathering such information?" He tilted his head as though waiting to hear if Alunite really did have an idea for a better power.

He certainly hadn't thought about it this way before. Not that he knew exactly what his comrades were truly able of in great details - Spinel used bells. Alkaid was Guidance, but he had no idea how the power manifested itself. Ammolite summoned a shield. There were others, but he had only seen them vaguely, if at all. The corrupted senshi were a reclusive bunch, it seemed.

Looking at it this way, there was nothing he could come up to counter that, really. "...No, I don't." He finally admitted.

Zinkenite spread his hands as though to say 'well than' without uttering the actual words. "You have a powerful gift...each and every one of you. It's ultimately a question of your intent. Just as each and every member of the Dark Kingdom has unique skills and views that they bring to the table...so do you. Not everyone is suited for this but there will be many more opportunities... ones that suit their skills and desires." He waved a hand and glanced firmly into Alunite's eyes. "... will you join me? I offer you a choice... I will not force anyone to join Veritas..."

Honeslty, Alunite didn't feel the need to dwell on this choice. Not with what he had just been presented. And, deep down... The need to be useful, to actually do something, to prove himself...

He could do it like that, too.

"I will." He said, simply.
