After a long day of heat and sunny skies, the pubs were getting crowded. And this fine evening, Apollyon was amongst those seeking a little joy in the alcohol. Except, he didn't drink much, nor was he fleeing the heat. He was there for his usual reasons; getting some fun. Preferably on the behalf of others, of course. But no, he didn't find what he looked for. Nobody seemed interesting enough to even spare the money for a drink, not that economy had ever been a problem. He decided to go for a midnight stroll.
The stars were shining brightly outside, a truely beautyful sight, even for Apollyon. "What a peculiar thing it is. Looking at those tiny little white lights, who would've thought they're actually gigantic balls of flame and chaos, just waiting for the day they'll either implode or explode..." He kept on going towards the riverside, pondering over whether he should go back home or try his luck elsewhere. That's when he saw something shine just as brithly as the stars above his head.

It had been a long day. Boring. Tedious. The servants back home always too eager to please. However, none of them seemed to understand the meaning of privacy. Or at least, they were too nervous, too afraid of attracting her parents' attention to listen.
Her parents, the title only having meaning in the sense they gave her life, were away somewhere. Her mother was probably in France, shopping her life away. Her father, most likely somewhere in Asia, trying to get a foothold in the new technology that was sprung up like weeds.
Over the past few years the endless pressure and expectation of society had finally become too much and she had simply up and left it all. Well, left in the sense she no longer pretended to care about it. Being bored, Sin quickly fell into an unlikely group: a group of con artists who dealt in forgeries, heists, and a number of white collar crimes. It wasn't the average group of criminals, all being rather wealthy heirs or possessed a fortune of their own. But they had all become disinterested in the shallow gossip of the society and chosen to put all that knowledge and resources to work.
However, tonight had not been one for crimes of any sort, at least for Sin's team. So she had taken the chance to go out and enjoy the night life. The cool air was refreshing after the hot, stuffy air of the city in the day time. She hadn't chosen a definite path, wandering wherever looked interesting, and eventually found herself on a grassy hill by the river bank. However, the fates decided she would not enjoy her solitude for long. Not soon after she settled down, a vibrant red dragon soon slid into the corner of her vision.

On a closer look, Apollyon noticed that the virbrant light actually came from a tiger. How curious, he thought Allthough, he did feel as if he'd seen her face before, he couldn't quite put his finger on it. Maybe in a pub somewhere? It didn't really matter. For all he cared, she was of the perfect gender, all alone in the night, where no living soul would see them. I may aswell go for it...
He put on his charming, bright smile, slightly flicking his hair back, steadily walking up to her. "Little girls like you shouldn't be alone in these whereabouts at such an hour. Milady, you're lucky I'm not the kind of creep you'd usually find 'round here. Could I offer the lady a ride home, before you get your dainty little paws into trouble?"
Apollyon looked her straight in the eyes. I know I've seen that face somewhere... Those eyes... So familiar...

Sin turned cooly towards the red dragon with an assessing glance. He appeared to be the typical male, flaunting things he only thought he had, but apparently harmless. But now he was staring and she was curious why.
"If I wished to go home, I would have called a car or walked there myself," she replied. "As for worrying about 'creeps,' I can take care of myself well enough, I'm not as little as you think. It is not I who am lucky tonight, but anyone one of those creeps who would be unfortunate enough to try anything."
She noticed the dragon had continued to stare, except now he had moved his focus to her eyes. "Also, you should just take a picture," she continued scathingly. "It will last you longer."

"Huh?" He looked up to see that the tigress seemed very unamused. She was playing untouchable, which Apollyon of course wasn't unfamiliar with. This only meant that she gave him a more interesting game, in his opinion.
"I'm afraid you'rw wrong there, miss. You see, a picture can't stand fire nor massive heat, whilst a memory so well printed into the depths of your mind can last a lifetime, at the least." He smirked at her. She truely had an interesting look, as something he'd never seen before. Apollyon slowly started walking away, still with a big grin decorating his face. You've got her right where you want her, you handsome devil...

Sin shrugged, causing the fur on her back to ripple.
"Perhaps that is true, but memories do not last much longer. Sooner or later details begin to fade and your imagination takes over in attempt to fill in the gaps. Not long after, what you hold is not a memory but only something you wished were true." She noticed he had begun to turn away, looking very pleased with himself, sauntering off at a very relaxed pace. "And you can wipe that smirk off of your face. I don't intend on following you for whatever reason."
True to her word, the tigress padded off in the opposite direction of the park, intending to take the other path out of the park and walk home. It seemed even the night life wasn't quiet enough for her. True, it was a rather large city, so quiet was nearly nonexistent, but even at nearly one in the morning there should have been some small respite.

He didn't need to turn around to hear that she was heading away from him. Isn't the park in that way? Suits me just fine, hehe... Apollyon knew a shortcut. Not that it was actually shorter, but it was perfect for getting to the park without being noticed, as long as he just went faster than her. And of course, he did. Not only was he known for being a fast hunter, but the tigress wasn't in a hurry, do being just slightly faster would still do just fine.
Apollyon heard the footsteps comming up towards the path benieth him. Looking down at the ground, he was the light which couldn't be mistaken.Come to papa Beelz, little one... The moment she reached the part where the path turned to a crossroad by a big old oak, it was time for his move.
Without a sound, Apollyon popped down from a branch and hung in his tail infront of her, with his usual smirky grin. "But I just so happen to have a perfectly photographic memory, and not that I lack the noble sense of imagination, but I would never allow it get out of hand like that." He lightly tapped her nose. "Silly little kitten." Then he hopped back up into the foliage and disappeared.

She continued on through the park at a steady pace. Sin had heard the dragon's footsteps, her sharp hearing picking up the quickly-timed steps, and was expecting him to appear at any moment. So when he suddenly dropped out of a tree, she wasn't surprised. When he tapped her nose she snorted in disdain and continued on her way home without a word.
Just another idiot, she thought to herself. Not even worth the trouble of thinking about.
Turning out the gate the exited on to a main street, she headed out towards one of the taller buildings in the city. It was an exceptionally high profile place to live, especially for con artists such as herself and her friends, but they were careful to never be caught. After all, very few people expected to look in such high places for criminals. At least, criminals of her nature, she couldn't speak for the politicians.
Of course, that didn't mean they were careless, depending on their secrecy alone. They had many a plan ready at a moments notice in case something did go wrong and they had to disappear.
Nodding to the doorman, she carefully stepped into the elevator. This building was owned by a company that prided itself on protecting their clients' privacy, one of the reasons why this was one of the few locations where the entire crew owned a residence. They owned the top two floors, which also conveniently had access to helipad.
Once the elevator and reached her floor via a key, no simple pressing of buttons for this high security building, she pressed her paw to the door to unlock it. All the other crew members were away at the moment, doing their various activities, so she had the entire place to herself at the moment.
The flat was definitely modern in style. Clean lines with everything in place. There was a large vaulting ceiling complete with lighted stairs that led to the second floor. This had been put in place when they had bought the two floors. Underneath the stairs was a secret chute which could be used as an escape route if needed. Wide glass windows, bullet proof of course, framed the city skyline. The windows allowed occupants to see out, but no one could see in. Another bonus.
Collapsing on to one of the white couches, she turned on the television and allowed herself to relax for a time.
((I was kinda envisioning the club from Tron, if that helps you picture the style))

Apollyon silently flew after her, as a sneaky shadow. That's where she hangs? He knew of the building very well from work. And he knew very well of what kind of habitants it had. Mobs, crooks, politicians, secret military forces... They all rented rooms there from time to time, only for their sneaky, ungodly business. The skyscrape had rather few constant residents though, so which was she? Ugh, don't tell me she's another politic hooker. I've had enough of those for a while. Allthough, she doesn't seem much like one... She doesn't quite fit for their usual profile.
Obviously, something new was going on in there. Something he hadn't heard about yet at work. How I hate it when I'm the last to know... Or maybe they haven't found out about it yet? Those worthless...! Ugh, nevermind. I'll find out myself then! Always gotta do it yourself, damnit...
And so, Apollyon did what he had to do, according to himself. Whispering to the doorman, he quickly did as he wished. "So that's her floor? I very much appretiate your cooperation, and shall remember it." He stepped into the elevator, thinking to himself. And how long has whatever crooked business she's up to been going on unnoticed? I keep telling them to check every damn room, and what do they do? As usual, I'm the only damn demon for the job! Bet my brother's laughing at me for this... Grrrrrrr... Whoever's up there with her should be glad I'm in a good enough mood to enter the usual way... Maybe I can still play a little? Heheheh...
Hiding in the ceiling, as invisible as a shadow in the night, he waited for either someone else to go to her floor, or herself calling the elevator to get back. Whichever came first, he'd still have his way, as usual.

Another night without any work. It had been like this for almost a week now, not that Vida was complaining. Sure, there was something thrilling about being on the job, but it was just as great having time do yourself. Usually time to herself meant tweaking some program to make her life just that little bit easier, but she felt like going out that night. Not just for ideas, too.
After some clubbing, Vida decided to return back to her apartment early. One of the Carous she was talking to spooked her a little, so she decided to go back and mess around with her co-workers. Partners in crime, really. But it was the closest thing to a family Vida had, and it was a hell of a dysfunctional one. The way the group operated definitely had its charms, though; she would take this life over a normal one in a heartbeat. It was just so fun.
She strolled into the building with a bounce in her step, eager to talk to Sin. She was sort of gruff, but it was fun being around her, nonetheless. There was no guarantee that Sin would be in, though; after all, nearly everyone in the 'crew' took a big interest in the night life. Vida smiled at the doorman, entering the elevator with the floorkey he slipped to her. It was empty, as normal. Some heat must have lingered from the previous passenger; something wasn't quite right there. She just shook her head, twisted the key into the slot, and hummed, waiting for the elevator to take her to her floor. Home sweet home.

Going up, eh? Good girl... Apollyon Looked at the purple little fox beneith him. How could a cutiepie like her be up to no-goods? Maybe they weren't comitting any funny business at all in that apartment? No, they clearly were, seeing as they came to the only bad-guy sanctuary in town.
The only reason the police knew nothing of what was going on in that building was a simple little contract between the firm and Apollyon's "firm". If this was anything mayor that hadn't been reported back to him, he'd find the responsible and make them sorry. If he didn't do his part of the job without flaws, he'd have another aother messenger from his brother at his heels again, scolding him like usual.
Finally, the elevator reached its' stop, and Apollyon got himself ready to crawl the ceiling. Stealth ability since birth isn't anything to complain 'bout, hehe...

While the company that made the elevator was famous for keeping its customer's privacy, it wasn't so great when it came to smooth stops. The jerk as the elevator stopped, as usual, nearly scared the living daylights out of Vida. She did her little jump, not-so-gracefully landing on the elevator floor. Collecting herself, Vida went to place her paw on the keypad. But something still didn't feel right. She turned her head every which way, checking all of the corners. No one, of course. But she always checked the ceiling, the paranoid fox that she was.
At first glance, there was no one there. Who would hide on the ceiling, anyway? But there was something about the shadows that didn't feel right. She wasn't sure exactly why she was saying it, but she just wanted to make sure before opening the door to her floor. Intruders weren't welcome. A stray thought nudged her to rig the elevator system and keep track of when the keys to their floors were used. Another project for another day. "Hello? she said timidly. "Is anybody there?"

Now he really lost his patience. Hadn't he waited long enough allready? He lost track of time long ago, but he must've waited for atleast over an hour in that boring ol' elevator, and they didn't even have elevator music at the damn place! Which he, of course, kept scolding them for at every visit. Plus, he had that 5 am appointment in the morning, and he better get back in time.
So, what to do? Well, Apollyon was known by many names, and there were reasons as for why one of them was "stealth monster". Scaredycat or not, the little lady down there would open up that door any moment on her own. Still, he was really impatient. Actually, those seconds felt like hours. Long, boring hours. He wasn't a fan of hours. Oh just open it allready! You know what, lady? You brought this to yourself! The master of freakouts, that's me aswell...
And so, Apollyon slithered down on the wall behind the fox, with his serpent like tongue tickling her ear, he whispered. "How much longer?" And quick as the lightning he was back up in the shadowy ceiling, hoping for her to be frightened enough to be wanting to burst out of the place, or atleast accidently open the door in the startled moment of surprise.

The air around Vida moved. There really was someone there! For once, her paranoia was justified. And just as she was wrapping her mind around the other elevator passenger, a tongue grazed her ear, eyes widening in astonishment. If that wasn't enough, the stranger whispered to her. In a panic, Vida fumbled for the keypad, the amount of time for the doors to open seeming like an eternity.
As soon as there was a gap big enough for the fox to slip through, Vida dashed out of the small box of death. An intruder. There really was an intruder. Though she would do anything to protect her family, facing this Carou without her wits about her was dangerous to say the least. Desperate, Vida did the only thing she knew would guarantee that someone dealt with the intruder.
"SIN! By now, she was far enough from the elevator to risk giving up some of her breath to call out. "SIN! Intruder! INTRUDER." Her warning called issued, Vida slipped into one of the smaller rooms, hiding from the current threat.

Sin jolted upward, mind racing. Quickly, but silently, she slipped off the couch and padded towards the entrance hall.
Vida is still alive, she thought. That means the intruder doesn't want anyone dead...yet.
The ring on her back began to spin, gaining speed with each rotation. At just momentary thought, it would race off her back and slice through any attacker. It would also, whether she thought about it or not, deflect any incoming attacks.
The front door was still ajar, Vida had seemingly taken refuge somewhere.
"Who's there?" she called out, walking cautiously towards the door. She kept her ears open, listening for anything above or around here, but there was nothing. The intruder was apparently still in the hallway.
