In a field not too far out if sight from the great castle, the trickster Zeddler was enjoying himself a roll in the green hay. Oh and dirt too. Dirt and hay. It was quite enjoyable to get a nice layer of nonstick spray when he went for his sunscreen application of mud. Though it would dirty his mighty fine hankie if he did such. That wasn't much of a problem anyways.
But the sky was nice and blue, the orchard woods didn't appear to hold any danger today. Then again, they lived on a floating landmass so predators were probably far and few inbetween aside from others. And the people were nice. Well, humans were for the most part. But that was just details that didn't need to be there.
With snorts, grunts and happy nickers, Zeddler kept on rolling in the hay and dirt. It was fun~ Or at least it would keep him occupied until someone else rolled along.

The white mares mind was spiriling, so many tihngs she must do for one day. She was to get flowers for her own hair, clean her bow, and even find someone interesting. She had had a rather boring couple of days, it was not her fancy to be by herself. She was one of nurturing, one who liked to surround herself with those who enjoyed life.
Her golden eyes scanned the sky, its bright blue brought a smile on her face. She giggled, it was a wonderful day! She enjoyed the warth the sun brought her, keeping her warm, and making her comfortable to be on the outside.
Her thoughts had been caught up in her, before she was stumbling upon a stallion who was rolling around in the dirt. He looked rather odd, and with this, she started to laugh quietly. She smiled wide, her soothing voice raising, "Well hello my good sir!"

There was a new scent in the hot air filled with dirt. Zed paused his rolling then stared at the pretty white thing that appeared out of nowhere. Yes, he openly stared at such a blemish free bone white darling before him. Delicate, floral...and such a lovely voice, even if she was laughing at him.
"Why, hello. " he replied, rising to his feet and shaking off the excess dust from his brown painted pelt. Zeddler observed her, and wasn't at all upset by the company. " I'd offer you a spot at the dirt bath, but the earth is far too brown here for such a lovely lady. " He decided to use manners. Manners were always good when dealing with pretty things. Less chance they'd start and bolt away.
But there was a lingering question on his tongue as he watched the pretty white lady, " And what, may I inquire, is the name of the fair lady before me?" Zeddler would have plucked a stalk of flowering hay to gift the lady if there were any around. There wasn't so he settled for gifting his name instead, " I'm called Zeddler. "

His eyes caught her attention first, his beaming bright eyes that looked past his unusual white markings that was splattered across his face. They stuck out to here like her own eyes stuck out to others, oh how she loved them already. She was next taken back by his markings, his hand prints that looked to be so neatly placed. She hadn't realized how complex his markings were, and they had caught her attention by far more than she would have expected. She was usually not interested in complex things.
Her stare was broken by the stallions voice, she smiled adoringly as she usually did, laughing as he spoke of her pure white coat. Her golden eyes rested upon the dirt, "Oh no, brown can be such a lovely mixture with white, if you get the right amount of each." Her voice was soothing, no matter how much she would try to change the way it would come out.
She was already swooned, but this was not uncommon. Almost anyone she met swept her away in their own kind, whether it came to their markings, or their voice. She repeated his name, "Zeddler...what a unique name for such a unique stallion." She bowed her head, how she would do if her mother or father was to come around, "My name is Genevieve Sue. It's quite a pleasure to meet you!"

She was quite kind to say that brown and white mixed well. There was this coffee color, also tan, then there was the mauve and beige. And Taupe. Why would anyone name a color taupe was well beyond Zed's comprehension. Yet all the while he was musing about mixing colors, those brilliant blue eyes of his couldn't help but take notice that the mare's gaze was upon his own rather flashy markings.
And because of this he politely moved so they were better in the light, those colored and complex hand prints that is. "Any color can be beautiful in the right light and placed against the right contrast. " he said with a sly smirk, though his words were quite happy and harmless. He took note of her yellow feather and yellow ribbon in her tail. It took him a bit to realize that those delicate accessories were nearly the same color as her striking golden eyes. His ears perked forward with curiosity how such a sweet sounding mare had such sticky, honey colored eyes. They were quite pretty.
But a pretty exterior was only an exterior. What really mattered was the soul to the stallion. He bobbed his head as she spoke his name and flicked an ear when her own name flitted off her tongue followed after a very kind way to say his name was weird. It fitted him too, she seemed to be saying. What a curious woman, indeed! "Yes. It is a bit of an odd name. But as with all, names grow on the named object. " He ever politely bowed, crossing his hooves in front in an elaborate bow. "And indeed it is quite a pleasure to meet such a snowflake as yourself, Genevieve Sue. "
A twinkle of mischief played in his eyes. Oh no, he wasn't going to pester the woman at all, he was just... really curious about her sense of humor. "What brings you to this patch of grass and orchard, he says to the stunning, shimmering beautiful lady. "

The more the stallion moved, the more she found herself intoxicated with his looks. She blinked again, his patterns were so complex, something she was not a fan of. Yet, this stallion was doing a good job of changing her mind, simplicity might not always be the best she thought to herself. It was always her nature, the way a simple yellow flower could rest, it was always the most bueatiful thing she could ever imagine. She was not sure what it was, maybe it was because she was so simple herself. The mare had never seen more than two colors on another, but Zeddler was so many colors.
She smiled as she looked down to the ground, taking in the green around them, "Yes, this is true. Beauty can come from any mixtures of colors, no matter what light. Though personally, I think beauty comes from the simplicity of things." She smiled at him, hoping he would understand what her comment meant. The pure white mare wasn't trying to say he wasn't attractive, she then bit her lip hoping her comment wouldn't offend him much.
She giggled slightly, "In no way is your name odd, I actually think it's perfect for you." She coo'd lightly to him, her face flushing when he came back with being as polite as he did. She wasn't used to other's being such like herself, one with poise and grace. She giggled, her face flushing darker as he called her a snow flake.
Her ears perked, her white mane flowing slightly in the wind. Her eyes looking into his, "I had many errands, but I decided that they could be handled at a later date!" The maer smiled, a sweet smile that she didn't usually show to just everyone, "What about you, dear Zeddler? Why did you come out here?"

Then and there Zeddler decided she was too kind to prank, trick, manipulate. The lovely mare was off limits... harmless stuff, yes. Stuff that could be seen as jokes only. Nothing more. She had a beautiful smile and looked like she should smile far more often, at least if he had any say in it. Even the most simple of things are complex and never what they seem. Genevieve was the perfect example for complexingly simple.
Whisking his tail, and tilting his head, he pondered what she said and found himself agreeing. "Simplicity simply is and never as simple as it appears," Zed paused and motioned to a nearby flower, flawed only by a few lack of petals. A simplistic thing, but complex in of itself. " Which, is what makes beauty so alluring. Though it's also perspective, as you said, Genevieve. " He understood what she meant and wasn't offended at all. Zed's markings were complex, but simplistic if torn apart from the whole. After all, a hand print is simple enough. But so was a bow in hair or a pretty feather.
Zeddler kindly chuckled, kindly smiling at her compliment of his name fitting. It did... Didn't it? He felt a puff of pride, and he would most certainly had puffed himself up had he not remembered that that would look absolutely silly. But being so serious and eloquent grew boring after a while. It was worth it to watch the pale mare appear to be bashful... Flattered? Probably. He smiled even more when she giggled, those striking eyes of his taking on a softer shine at his amusement. Not at her expense, but because he had made her happy.
And then the wind picked up just enough to lift her mane back and away in a lovely snowy wave. It was quite hypnotizing, but he pulled away from the soft looking hair when she spoke of errands cast aside to another day. And then that smile that was just as sweet as her eyes! Oh he could just melt and be happy he got to see such a kind smile on another equine. "I hope those errands weren't too important to be put off then. I'd hate to have it on my conscious, or what little of a conscious I have left. "
When asked what he was doing, he perked his ears up and glanced around the sweet green hay clearing he had been making a very fine circle in. Quite seriously he addressed the darling snowflake, "Having a roll in the hay. Then a romp in the swamp, and maybe a quick shower under a waterfall. " Oh he had other things to do like help a few humans out with their cart loads to market, or aiding in the field harvest... It just wasn't what he wanted to do today. "The days have been quite warm, and a swim would feel good. Would you, my summer's snowflake, dare do me honor and join me for at the very least a wade in the fall's pools? "

Genevieve's mind spiraled for a moment, she was being so swept away, and this was only her first meeting. He seemed so kind, but she was so easily sucked into anyones games, if they were playing them. She had an even harder time realising others faults, though she saw none in the stallion so far. She smiled to Zeddler as he spoke to her, she was caught up in his voice and what he was saying.
Gene nodded, it had been quite sometime since she had expressed her true thoughts on beauty. Truthfully, she was not a fan of her looks, she avoided her reflection as much as she possibly could. Though she hid this fact, she did not want anyone trying to tell her that she was beautiful, that made her feel full of herself. She wanted to stay humble, thats how she was. A humble mare, who helped others. She hadn't noticed that the space between them had come smaller, she had been inching closer the more interested she had become. She laughed to herself quietly, how into others stories she became.
She laughed, making a 'pfft' sound as she began to speak again, "My errands were simple I promise! I was only gathering flowers to put in my mane. Something that can wait..." her joking side coming out, as she noticed a flower behind the stallion, "But you, you could use a flower!" She giggled, walking behind him, plucking up the yellow flower she so easily admired, and palced it in his mane. Stepping back she laughed, it coming out not as cute as her usual laughs, "Why, yellow looks perfect with your colors!"
She looked back, to make sure her bow was there. She had a rather hard time with her bow, it was the most important thing that she had. She looked back to Zeddler, "We even match in a way!" Walking closer she poked him in a joking way, walking around him as he spoke to her. His voice was so inviting, or so she felt. Her smile was wide, she seemed to have caught him at the right time.
She stood next to him, but not to close, making sure he was comfortable with her before she became to close to him. She giggled, "I would love to join you! But don't forget, your flower will get lost in the water. I suppose while we are there, I can search for more flowers to give you!" The mare flicked her ear, looking back to the bow. She was curious about Zeddler, she wanted to know more about him. She blushed again, this time hiding it, she had never been complimented so much in one meeting. She felt spoiled, she was not sure why at this point.
Her voice was soft again, "So, what does the handsom Zeddler do in his free time?"She wondered if he was with another mare, but she felt as though he should tell her on his own. Gene was afraid to ask, not wanting to dip into his privacy.

Somehow she closed the distance. Zeddler hadn't been paying attention at all. He'd been enthralled with how she moved and reacted. Heck, he was actually dumfounded when there was now a yellow flower in his mane. When did that get there? He blinked at it the best he could before grinning. There wasn't much to say when there was a pretty mare gifting. Best to go along with it. She seemed so happy. Keeping his gaze upon her as she moved and picked a flower, he snorted a small laugh, totally okay with her putting the flower there. He didn't want to make her feel bad by saying he didn't like flowers in his hair. Though she did smell nice when she approached...
Zeddler was surprised she had quite a striking sense of humor. A very fun loving soul and quite the warmth behind the silly little phrase. Why, if he didn't know better the stallion would say she was coming onto him. "So we do. Shiny. " He let out a hearty laugh and was somewhat surprised when he was poked. No harm was from it, he could tell. But it was... Had he found someone he could harmlessly joke with? That'd be a very nice surprise.
He was quite surprised when she even agreed to go play in the water with him! Fancy that. A pretty thing like her taking pause from gathering flowers to play in the water with him. "Now that's downright flattering. Though I'll try not to loose such a fine gift from a kind soul. " And he meant it too. He hated loosing gifts from nice folks. And who didn't like spoiling a pretty girl that deserved some spoiling? Not he. If he could he'd spoil this one rotten to the point he'd probably get scolded by the pretty mare's mother and chased around the yard by her father several miles. "I wouldn't want to disapoint and promise something that wasn't to be. The water is right over there. " Well not right over there, but close enough. A couple minutes walk.
Zeddler had started walking when her soothing sweet voice asked what he did on his free time. His step faltered momentarily causing a small stumble from stepping on badly placed mossy rock. "I really don't do much that would be considered appropriate in the higher circles. " Pretty much he rolled in hay fields and played a few harmless pranks on other Azerin before rolling in to do some carting and cattle cutting.
But that was neither here nor there. What was most curious was he was getting the impression the darling Mare was crushing on him. Hard. He was slightly worried by that, especially by the word 'handsome' being used to describe himself. He didn't want to hurt her feelings...Zeddler just never really considered himself handsome. Good looking, maybe, but not handsome."Anyways, I'm not that handsome. I'm always covered in dirt, completely unfit for such a pristine snowflake like yourself, Genevieve. " To prove his point, he bent down and plucked a red flower by its stem from the ground, bringing it over to the very pretty mare. And with care he managed to nose the lovely flower into place next to her ear without getting her hair covered in dirt. He beamed proudly. "There! Now we match even more. Red looks lovely on you. "

She smiled, she was always so easily impressed by those who did almost nothing to her.The pure white mare stood there, he did look rather silly with a flower in his hair. She actually began to laugh out loud, but she tried to muffle it as much as possible at this point. She hadn't realized, flowers weren't meant for a stallion who rolled in the mud. Gene kept this thought to herself, turning her gaze to see where he was talking about. She had been shown a lake earlier by another stallion named Dark Tide, this got her to think maybe all of these lakes were the same? She shook her head mentally, she would never know until they had reacher their destination. Or so she decided in her own mind.
Her ears perked, had he called her 'shiny'? What an unusual name for her. She giggled, then bumped into him, getting a little coat of mud on her shoulder, she looked to him, "Shiny is it? If I'm shiny then I get to call you Mud. Deal?" She giggled as she walked besides him. She had found a good friend in this one, though she had trouble not finding a friend in everyone. She had even hoped to become friends with one of an evil nature, finding the good inside them to become close with. This, was only a fairy tale in her mind, but one day she dreamed it would still happen so.
She shrugged her shoulders, "If thats what you call flattery!" She smiled rather large this time, she enjoyed the water very much. Though she would not swim in it, she didn't like the feeling. The feeling of her kicking fantically to keep her head above the water, she shivered. What if she could no longer kick and keep her head up! Then what? She hid her fear from Zeddler, she didn't want anyone to know this fear.
She raised a brow, higher circles? She laughed at him, in her most harmless way. "I am no such part of a higher circle, so I believe we will get along rather well!" This was a very true fact, she wasn't one for sitting around and talking about society, though she didn't like to dirty herself up either. Her pure white coat was always purely white, except for the new spot she had gained from bumping into Zeddler.
She looked at him, her matter of fact voice crossing with her soothing voice was sometimes funny after it came out, "I do not care if you don't think your handsome. I think your handsome in your own way! Every stallion is!" She flicked her ears at the word prestine, she was nothing of the sort. Before she could say anything, he was placing a flower into her mane now. He smelt of mud, making her laugh when he glanced back to her. She smiled kindly, "Oh good! I was hoping we could match!" She smiled walking infront of him slightly, this was to see if he wanted to race. She didn't care whether she didn't know where to go or not, she had a funny feeling it couldn't be hard to miss.

Shiny? Oh, he hadn't been calling the delectable mare shiny, but the flower instead. He just smiled and roared with laughter at being called 'mud'. "Okay, Shinny. Seems a fair deal. " What a silly woman! Good soul, this one. A very good and golden soul.
And such a bright sense of humor too. Why, she almost outshinned himself. Lucky for her Zeddler had decided far early on in the conversation that she was off limits to his nastier pranks. Frogs in an apple bushel was about as deep as he would go with her. But swimming seemed like fun. And of course Zeddler loved swimming. It cleaned his coat off and heck he licked how graceful he looked while doing it. He knew his limits though... no one could swim forever, not even fish.
Her laugher this time followed by clear declaration she wasn't from the stables by the castle made him grin. "Really? You could have fooled me with your eloquent tongue and finely groomed tail. " He nodded his head then blinked when he spotted a soiled spot on her coat. Oops... Well she now had a pretty coffee colored patch of fur. "And you don't seem to mind getting dirty either from the looks of things. " And with that, he nosed the patch of dirty fur smearing it into her pelt. Why? Well, it was silly and he could get away with being a bit more silly now that formal introductions were done with.
Mud... Mud wasn't a bad smell. Smelled of earth and water. Good smells. He laughed and shook his head, not really able to come up with something to counter her really flattering and flirty words. In fact, Zeddler was a little uneasy, not uneasy that he didn't feel comfortable around her, with her wording. Okay, seriously, was this dame coming onto him? Was he really that charming? No way in heck was he that charming. Maybe she needed to meet some other hefty awesome guys. That just had to be it. "Matching is always fun when going somewhere. " He laughed and brought himself to a canter towards the lake that probably was the very same lake she had been to before.
And of course it wasn't hard to miss. Well, okay, Zeddler was slightly distracted with a pretty woman running ahead of him ( he wasn't all that quick with running, nor did he really enjoy it. ) It was a ake. With grass around it, with some rocky beaches and some water feature in the distance. Standard issue. And what did Zed do once it was in sight? "BANZAI!!" he whooped, hopped as he picked up speed and jumped right into the water. Dirt drifted off of him in the water as he paddled around grinning smugly back at the Gene, only to meep and grab at that flower floating away with his teeth. The stallion looked a little sheepish at the almost loss of flower.

Genevieve Sue was not an ordinary mare, her kind words were only intended to be kind words, but she always caught being mixed up in the flirting game. She wasn't to aware of anything really, she was quite the oblivious mare, and with that she got herself into a lot of trouble. She had many experiences where a stallion would think she was more attracted to them than she really was, in honesty, she needed to be more blunt about her feelings. She said kind things because she enjoyed making others believe that they were as amazing as they seemed. The mare held her tongue as he spoke, she was a bit more lost in thought now.
She had the tendancy to go off and think while others spoke, but his laughter drew her from her deeper thoughts. She smield kindly at him, "I guess you have to know someone before you can judge them properly." She smiled as he smeered more dirt onto her, she laughed and pushed him away lightly, she could tell she had found a good friend in him. She liked his humor, being able to be so care free about things, it was a good quality in him. Though with her nature, finding good things about others wasn't hard for her to do. She was always looking deeper, seeing who they really were, she sometimes ran into getting into deep.
Her smile grew bigger, this lake reminded her of her first days here with Dark Tide. He had tried to teach her to swim, to this day she still could not. As she admired the lake, a gush of wind flew past her, then water was sprinkling on her. She looked up to see Zeddler had jumped into the lake. She began to laugh at him, how excited a mud coated stallion was to wash off all his hard work! Gene's favorite part was that he was determined to keep her flower, she smiled kindly as she slowly walked into the water.
It was cold, or was it her fear that made it so cold? She shook her head, walking in so she was shest deep, her mane behind her. She looked to see her bow was quietly still attached to her, even though it was sunk along with her tail. She let a sigh of relief out. Her bow was her most treasure iteam, there was no way she'd ever be happy if had been lost. she dunked her head under the water, using her nose to scrub off the dirt that Zeddler had placed on her face. She was happy to be in the water, she sort of felt like a princess. She giggled quietly, not seeing how quiet she had become since they had reached here. The red flower Zeddler placed in her hair floated in front of her, she laughed quietly.
"This place is so beautiful!"

WELL! Anyways ....
In the water that felt cool to the touch and soothed the heat of the day away, Zeddler paddled around in the water where he could just almost stand up in. And where he couldn't, he'd use his hind hoofs for balance. Not the most ideal, but it worked since the current of the lake wasn't too strong.
That feathery mane of Gene flowed around her like ink or dye. It was beautiful even when it appeared to turn the color of the water. And that red flower...It was quite pretty. He just gave a crooked grin with that flower still in his teeth before swimming over. She said something about the beauty of this place. He nodded in agreement, laughing softly. "It is! A wonderful spot too. Great for exfoliating~ " He waded in the water next to her putting that yellow flower he had been gifted into her mane. Flowers weren't his thing. They suited her far better.
"So, Miss Shiny, what do you exactly do on your days off....Aside from errands? " Maybe he could bother her another time, bring her flowers since she liked those. yeah. totally!

She smiled at Zeddler, she rather enjoyed his own sense of humor. Her mane floated behind her as she tried her best to twirl around in the water. Her giggle was louder than she usually would have liked, but her mind was enjoying the water to much to care. She laughed at him, "I would guess so!" She smiled as he placed the flower in her mane, she rather loved flowers. She giggled, "Well thank you, for the regift!" She smiled to him.
She drew herself closer to the shore, staying to where the water was in the middle of her chest. The mares ears twitched, sending water dropplets, listening to his question. She did rather a lot, but mostly it was alone.
She shrugged, smiling, "Nothing really," She said humbly, "I guess I do a lot of walking around looking for an adventure! That or I have my mane braided again. I love to find new places in the forest. Usually I hope to find another, so we can play games like tag or something of the sort!" She smiled at him, "What about you Mister Mud! What do you do in your free time?"
