Sparkling Senshi

PostPosted: Thu Jun 30, 2011 9:29 pm

One particular super senshi was bounding across building rooftops like they meant nothing in the world. On her second night of patrolling, Kallichore liked to do several laps around a given perimeter. Not only did it exercise her muscles, but it kept her mind sharp. A change in venue every week meant it was more difficult for enemies to keep track of her movements (which they no doubt did) and allowed Kallichore to explore more areas of the city, branching further and further out from her home in small increments. Eventually, she would reach her limit on how far she could go without it becoming a danger, but she had not reached that limit yet.

Rounding a corner, the senshi of madness found herself scaling a rather old apartment building, brick and mortar staring out at her from and endless sea of stories. It was the best vantage point in the area. Kallichore found herself concentrating solely on scaling the building in a safe and efficient manner, not scanning to find other people in the area. She probably would have done better to scanned every once in a while, but the building needed her attention more. As soon as she reached the top, the senshi took a breather and sat down on the edge of the roof, legs dangling over the stone lip that acted as piping. A soft and sweet breeze had blown up the apartments, setting a slight smile to the senshi's lips.

Much like Kallichore Polaris was fond of patrolling new or random places. She didn't stick to simply one place like many others did, branching out randomly each night in attempts to make sure every inch of the town was eventually covered. The last thing they needed was a section of town to become a hotbed of negaverse activity just because the senshi accidentally neglected it. And so the eternal senshi of magnetism was patrolling in a place she'd only been once or twice before.

Accustom to searching for power signals, good and bad, Polaris was quick to notice the other girl when she neared. Always one for teaming up and working together she hunted briefly for the source of the signal, pausing when she was finally spotted a roof over.

She took a few steps back before making the leap to brace the distance, boots landing with a soft slap on the apartment rooftop. She brushed back her hair, still trying to get used to the wildness of the unbound braids. "Good evening" She called out expectantly, if her approach hadn't caught the other girl's attention well then.. she didn't want to surprise her anymore. She'd received an attack or two before upon approaching people too quickly.

Kallichore had done a brief scan, finding someone more powerful than she was approaching her position. It was a friendly target, but that's all she could make out. The senshi of madness savored the aromatic breeze before the eternal's voice could be heard. Female, but that's all she could make out. Turning to the side, Kallichore gave the newcomer a short and polite bow, her hands resting on her stomach. She didn't recognize this senshi, but her fuku was incredibly impressive. Especially those boots. The white wings must've been some sort of universal symbol, because Europa had them too. Did everyone get wings when they were powerful enough to be called Eternal?

"Good evening to you as well, miss...?" Without a name to put to this senshi, Kallichore strayed on the side of caution. She couldn't even begin to guess the other's sphere. By the look of her boots and gloves, Kallichore would have guess something having to do with the cold, but the rest of her fuku tore down that assumption. Who would go out into the cold wearing next to nothing? It didn't make any sense. "Is there something I can assist you with?"
PostPosted: Sun Jul 03, 2011 7:07 pm

The other girl was unfamiliar, which wasn't too large a surprise. Fukus weren't really something that Polaris gave much attention to when she met someone, far more interested in powers. Nonetheless Polaris took in her features curiously for a moment, pausing only when the other girl hinted at an introduction. "Oh, sorry. I'm Sailor Polaris, eternal senshi of magnetism"

"Not really." She regarded the question with a bit of a smile, drawing even nearer to the other girl as she offered a hand out. "Unless of course you'd like some company? It's not very safe to patrol alone and it's always fun to team up for a bit."

"Pass the time if nothing else"

Standing at her full attention, Kallichore took in the other girl's details now that she had a name and sphere to place with the face. Polaris and magnetism. Right, she could remember that, especially with those boots. The super senshi then went to work introducing herself. "I'm Super Sailor Kallichore, Senshi of Madness. It's a pleasure." she breathed, watching as Polaris didn't appear to have a very professional demeanor. She was much more friendly and nonchalant, something Kallichore couldn't seem to do for the life of her. Everything had to be quite formal unless she had some kind of connection with the other person.

"I don't mind company," responded the lower rank, nodding her head slightly. "I can't guarantee there will be much to do. Scans haven't yielded anyone but you and I so far. I'm new to this area, so I don't know all the lines of activity yet." What was she doing out here if there weren't any Negas to punch in the face? Kallichore didn't know. Perhaps it was the sense of adventure and the desire to improve herself. She wasn't really sure.

She tilted her head in Polaris' direction. "I have to ask - the wings. Is that a standard feature?"
PostPosted: Sun Jul 03, 2011 7:53 pm

Professional she was not. Responsible yes, dedicated definately. Polaris put her senshi work FAR ahead of her social life and just about everything else. But professional, not so much. She posed ridiculously and made campy introductions. She acted very much more like the girl she was then the solider. In fact Kallichore's strict discipline and speech came off a little quirky to the senshi of magnetism. But cute.

Madness...? She couldn't hide the momentary surprise and confusion on her face as she pondered over the power for a moment. It was sort of like her intial reaction to the senshi of snakes. But Serpentius had turned out to be very lovely and have a nice attack. So who knew. "Do you mind if I ask what your power does?"

To the girl's warning she brushed away the thought figuratively with a hand. "If we don't run into anything it's no big deal. Making new allies is just as important as beating youma. And besides, better safe then sorry in case we do run into something."

At the head tilt and question a soft giggle escaped Polaris, glancing back to try and admire the little wings herself. She was QUITE proud of them and what they meant. "I see you've met more eternals then? Yes we all have these little ones. If you meet someone with larger wings then these you're likely in the presence of a princess" Atleast.. she'd seen full sized wings on the couple of princesses and prietesses she'd met. Helios, Chronos, even stupid Castor. So it seemed likely.

It wasn't every day that someone asked what her attack actually did. Truth be told, most often the explanation came from the sheer act of hitting something with it, but Kallichore tapped her chin in thought. She had to come up with an explanation that made sense, especially since the attack's effect varied from target to target. She didn't know what they heard or saw each time she hit something with it. After a few moments, Kallichore sighed. "It makes people go insane." That was the easiest and most straightforward thing she could come up with. She ended the phrase with a shrug.

But the next piece of information she received was much more tantalizing than the fact that wings were part of being an eternal. It apparently was their signature, so to speak, aside from their increased power and energy trail. "Princess?" Kallichore blinked. Weren't they searching for a princess? If the princess was here all along, what was the point of the war? Why were they still fighting? "Who is the princess?"

Never mind that Polaris meant a single princess, not a specific Moon Princess, but Kallichore glossed over that part. As far as she was concerned, one could raise themselves to Eternal status and go no further. That's where Europa currently was, and now she knew a second - Polaris. They were very few and far between, but their energy was certainly unique enough to quantify them as a class all their own. Would she ever make it to that point? What all was necessary?

Her eyes widened softly at the explaination. It sounded powerful.. if not a little scary. Needless to say Polaris was very glad she hadn't run into this particular senshi in a corrupted state. "That's quite the power!" She complimented softly, wondering if the other girl used it more for defense or offense. It could easily go either way.

The excitement in the other girl drew forth another smile in Polaris, trying her best to explain. It seemed the other girl had heard of the moon princess.. something she wasn't sure was or was not being spread around lately with the lack of wide scale senshi meetings. But apparently she'd thought she'd meant that one. "Oh well... No one really knows where or who the moon princess is. We've been looking since I first began a couple years ago without much luck. We've found her daughter though.. and seen glimces of her when things have gotten really bad."

"There are other princesses though and princes at that."

"I'm not really certain how it works but I do know that one of my old teammates somehow obtained more power."
"I imagine it's only in a few of us, sleeping silently like our ability even to become senshi."

"But I know the Prince Castor. And I've heard of and vaguely fought alongside the Priestess of dreams Helios and the Princess of the Zodiac senshi" She didn't mention having to fight against Helios.. if the other girl hadn't been around for it it wasn't worth dragging up confusing information. Polaris still wasn't exactly sure what had happened in elysium.. what had made the priestess react so violently to their pressence in the dream world.

Kallichore was too fixated on the information about princesses, moon or otherwise, to even begin to comment about her own power. It was meaningless in the face of greater information. The super senshi stepped forward and crossed her arms, very intent on finding out what all she had missed in the time when she was ignorant to the real goings on of Destiny City. "So... we cannot find the moon princess, but we've found her daughter? Doesn't her daughter know where her mother is? And who have you seen glimpses of? Details. I'd like details."

She wasn't meaning to be rude or anything, but since being left without much of a direction, research was what the senshi of madness had turned to in times of need. Cold, hard facts. She craved them like water. The other prince and princesses Polaris mentioned were not familiar to her, and neither was the Zodiac senshi. What was that all about? "Apparently, I've missed quite a bit. I don't know any priestess or a Castor, and least of all any Zodiac senshi. You mean like Cancer and Aries and all that? That sort of Zodiac?"

If senshi could attain royal status, and more power on top of that, then why wasn't the Negaverse toppled by now? Clearly the senshi needed more power on their side if even royalty hasn't put a stop to the war. The biggest concern for her now was the moon princess' daughter. Now Kallichore had a mission bigger than herself for the first time in several months.

Oh wow! Polaris was obviously impressed by the other senshi's inquisitiveness. Had she been around during the days of the Bastards she would have been a shoe in for a team member! Curious, information hungry, dedicated and seemingly responsible. She couldn't help herself.

"Say... you wouldn't be interested in joining a team or anything would you? You seem like a really great senshi, you'd make a wonderful addition."

It was a definate offer, and Polaris hoped the girl would bite or atleast be interested, but in the mean time she tried to answer the slew of questions the best she could, lifting a finger for each point she touched on.

"During certain battles.. for instance during the fiasco at the halloween ball last year. the moon princess has be able to speak to us... Or something.. I'm not really certain if it's actually her or something else. Almost like.. you know.. a movie left to run. She offered words of encouragement and told us about the power of the rainbow crystals."

"The moon princesses daughter is Sailor Chibimoon. She claims.. confusingly enough to be from the future. So no.. she doesn't really know where her mother is here and no in this time. Atleast last I heard when she led us all to Elysium. She's still pretty powerful all things considered"

"Yes, like the zodiac signs. I do not know them personally, but I assume there is a senshi that correlates with each of the zodiac signs. And they follow Princess Chronos.. light green hair, butterfly wings. She's very powerful too. The princesses seem capable of manipulating crystals or something that allow for some powerful shots."

Hmm.. she wondered if Castor was capable of that now?

The super senshi was left in an information-induced stupor. Everything she had come to believe from Ares had been contradicted by everything Polaris had to say. Up until now, Kallichore couldn't find a shred of evidence to pinpoint the definitive existence of the moon princess, but this senshi... she said that not only was the moon princess (or some form thereof) able to speak to them, her daughter from the future was out and about as well. On top of that, there were princes and princesses wielding enormous power, and on top of that was a court of senshi entirely comprised of the Western Zodiac.

...why didn't anyone tell her this? And how did all these people fly under her radar? Was she really that blind? It took her several moments of almost-stuttering silence before Kallichore was about to configure any sort of answer. "But... then... why?" she asked, hands opening as if to plead with the eternal in front of her. "How... how did I not know?"

Kallichore wasn't around for the Halloween Ball. She was only recently awakened, but thought of herself as much more studious than this. Apparently, there were huge groups of very important people just running around undetected by newer senshi. Or maybe she was just ignorant. Kallichore felt simultaneously ashamed and embarrassed. "All this time, I was so thoroughly convinced she didn't exist. There was no evidence to prove otherwise. No calling card, no voice, no physical or magical traces... nothing."

She heard Polaris' invitation, but needed more proof. She had to know so she could tell Ares. The entire focus of the Blood Moon could be shifted if new evidence came to light, and Kallichore took it upon herself to be the messenger. "Polaris, where can I find this Chibimoon? Is she approachable? I have a great many questions for her..."
PostPosted: Thu Jul 14, 2011 10:28 pm

Kallichore's expression of well.. stupor was met with an apologetic smile from the eternal senshi. It was obviously a lot of information to absorb.. possibly even too much to believe depending on how much the other senshi had actually seen and experienced in her time. So Polaris simply let her absorb it for awhile, waiting for the question to sound before she offered anything else.

"The senshi are unfortunately quite unconnected. It's something that is brought up everytime we meet.. something that the negaverse is far better then us at.. but despite the admission we've yet to find a way to remedy it."

"It's all about being at the right place when things happen. Or knowing the right people."

"It's why more of us should team up. Or if not someone should start compiling past events or newsletters. Because really.. so much has happened.. " So much in two years.. she wondered suddenly how much had occurred before her time. What those faces from so long ago had seen. Nerissa... the Nova she had spoken of. Polaris had always thought of herself quite in the know but suddenly she wasn't so sure.

The questions about Chibimoon drew her out of her thoughts, and in a moment her phone was summoned to her hands, fingers pushing buttons delicately. "I'm afraid I'm not actually well aquainted with her so I don't know where she lives or hangs out when not powered up.."

"But she's always seemed friendly enough. Approachable yes."

The phone turned to face Kallichore, the image of a young girl with cotton candy pink hair smiling back at her. It had her basic info like any other senshi that someone might scan.. but more importantly it was tangible proof, if the senshi of madness chose to believe it.

"I could always try to send her a message but I don't know whether she'd respond promptly." Sometimes senshi didn't respond at all to others they didn't know too close, and others only checked their phones when they were patrolling.

The picture in Polaris' phone was exactly what she was looking for - an image, some information, vital proof. This sealed the deal for her. Chibimoon really did exist, and she may have been the key to solving a lot of the problems their side of the war was faced with. If she was friendly and approachable, maybe Kallichore could finally ask some of the burning questions she's had locked away. While she was relatively convinced the Negaverse was the force behind destroying all the senshi knew and loved, Chibimoon may be able to say for sure. She would probably know the answers to the questions Kallichore may not know to ask.

She gave the phone back very gingerly, as in her mind, it was quite precious. "The right place at the right time, huh? Maybe I just have bad luck." she mused, turning around to pace. Polaris gave her a great deal to think about with this information, and Kallichore was kicking herself for not being awakened sooner. She felt like she made so many mistakes while being so ignorant. "What else has happened, Polaris? I only awakened a few months ago and already I feel like I've missed the boat on several important occasions." She wasn't about to declare that she was in the Blood Moon Court, not yet. Her membership with this new information had not changed, but she resolved to tell Ares or Birhan about it. Perhaps it could change the Blood Moon's focus.

"How long have you been awake?" she asked, stopping in her pacing to look at Polaris. She had to have been around for a while to reach eternal-hood. Europa as well, but the Jovian senshi didn't necessarily make any remarks that indicated how long she'd been awakened. "I hate to be ignorant. I feel that I've made a great deal of errors because I don't know about these past events... and do you know any of these Zodiac senshi personally? I think I'd like to speak with them."
PostPosted: Sun Jul 17, 2011 6:26 pm

"Yeah.. it really does seem to be luck.. though large gatherings are often.. unfortunate targets" There was the halloween ball... camp.. the large gathering at christmas.

At the request for information Polaris paused softly, placing a hand thoughtfully against her cheek. What all had happened? Seriously.. why wasn't anyone keeping track of what was going on? Was anyone even keeping track? After a moment she began to list things thoughtfully.

"Well.. at one point there were a group of aliens that came to steal energy for their tree... the negaverse slaughtered them.. mercilessly." Really.. the senshi had been trying to stop them too.. so why was it that the negaverse completing the job was as upsetting as it was? She still saw the face of that tiny alien girl's dying body shoved and crushed against the force field that had kept the senshi safe and helpless.

"At one time some kind of power put hundreds of people into a coma. I was one of them actually and... it's hard to explain.. but it was like a dream world we were stuck in."

"Which is kind of like the dream world recently... where in the nights sometimes we went places.. Battles against the negaverse and strange animals that were so real you woke up with injuries from them.."

"There was a giant snow monster that appeared around Christmas. The giant cake at the halloween ball turning into some strange monster. And of course the huge phoenix a couple months ago."

"The negaverse have set up camps to steal energy.. attacked entire schools." The elementary school for certain. But who knew what else they'd done.

"We used to have large scale meetings fairly frequently too to talk about things. That's where I met the Zodiac court. And Astraea... she always had important information to offer. But.. as of late I haven't heard of any meetings.." It had been a long time since she'd seen the cat that had first awakened her. The last time was ages ago.. when they'd found out that Astraea was Luna.. that she had once known the princess in which they were looking for.

Dragging up all the memories in her head were bittersweet.. like something she'd let herself lose over time. And now she was grasping at straws as hard as she could to remember as much as she could.

"I've been awake now for around two years"

At the last question she shook her head softly, her smile apologetic and tired.. all these questions were strangely draining. "I'm sorry I don't know them personally. From what I've seen they seem to be a very tight knit group. I've never seen any of them alone, they're always together from what I've seen."

Kallichore listened intently as Polaris explained everything that had happened. She was aware of the Destiny City sickness from the newspapers, though none of her family had suffered from it. There were attacks on schoolchildren she'd seen on television and some other peripheral events she'd known about through different media outlets. It was sobering to hear about all the major events that had taken place that she hadn't been a participant in. It all felt so fantastic - almost unbelievable, but given what Kallichore had been through already, she didn't doubt they all happened like Polaris had explained. A snow monster, dream wars, massive comas, aliens feeding an ancient tree. It was all so crazy, and it was all happening while the citizens of Destiny City were completely unaware.

Large scale meetings seemed quite beneficial. If there were large groups of senshi gathered together, they could present information to each other, talk about events that had happened, plan things. But for some reason, these meetings have ceased. Why stop something that had been so helpful? It didn't make any sense, unless something happened that prevented senshi from gathering en masse in the first place. "Two years..." the super senshi breathed, almost in awe of how much time two years actually represented. Kallichore almost felt ashamed, but had to correct herself. She didn't determine when she awoke. It was all out of her hands.

"I have to thank you for all the information, Polaris." She had so much to filter through in her head, knowing there was so much backdrop to a war she just recently joined. "Do you think... in your opinion, have we made any progress in the past two years? Have things changed enough, or are we still at a stalemate?"
