((These are the initial descriptions of the underground base and it's counterparts. I will refine them over time but for now.... deal with it.))
Base 1 Info-
Pitch black cells lay within the darkened earth of the Body Farm, each is a workroom for a different experiment. There are still no barriers to prevent scrying or wards, however the nature of the place is fundamentally different for protection. Beneath the Body Farm are nearly one hundred dark cells of varying sizes from simple ten cubic feet rooms to massive hundred cubic feet central areas. Every cell is normally left in absolute darkness which in and of itself makes most scrying pointless. A few are lit by the red glow of infernal energies that illuminate ghastly experiments and garish scenes. Also no cells are connected below the first level and there are walls of earth between ten and fifty feet thick between all cells.
The one well lit area is just below the surface and resembles an odd exhibit room, this is the true body farm. Dozens of bodies, some human, most not, are displayed in clear glass-like tubes of translucent fluid. Here there are bodies for all types of tasks and purposes and here is where people come for special orders. Want a more powerful form for war? Want a body with unnaturally high magic reserves? This is where you can choose the form you want and be transferred to it, for a price. Word of this dark place has begun spreading as whispered rumors, most started by Ka’rinth himself, but a few desperate enough for power, have begun seeking it out and more will likely follow.
Base 2 Info-
This base is set up in the exact same manner as the first, this one however is in the bowels of the shadowy dimension and world that Keeran was encountered. The links between the two bases are small devices usually hidden inside of the walls of the cells that link each to the other realm. The three main device types that allow for this coexistence are the core, the modulator, and the relays. These three components regulate the spatial distortion fields that juxtaposition the matter of the bases. The core is the device that actually generates the fields, the modulators shape it, and the relays transport matter between them. The nature of these fields also helps mislead scrying, since those that are not aware of them end up looking or teleporting into rooms of the second base instead of the first when attempting to spy.
This is the base where necromancy and magical research is conducted, there are also regular movements by Keeran’s shadow minions, but there nature is largely hidden and no obvious changes are being made on it’s behalf.
Base 3 Info-
The location of this base is unknown, while half of the rooms of base one connect to base two, the other half connect here. There are only three rooms in the first base that connect to this place and they are always left in darkness so as not to reveal the type of research being conducted here. This is a place dedicated to science, pure and simple. Here Ka’rinth has set up a large network of computers and labs that are used to advance their understanding of technology. Much of the data collected from the Harvester of Sorrows forms the base of the mainframe, but Ka’rinth and dozens of servants with their minds placed in undead bodies advance that knowledge daily.
The cells here are divided into floors and unlike the other bases do have connecting hallways. Each floor has a research focus and those are as follows: Level 1- Biology (Focus- Anatomy) This floor is dedicated to researching the anatomy of all living beings that can be brought here for study. Level 2- Chemistry (Focus- Bio) This floor is dedicated to physiological studies and the synthesis of biological weapons and designer enzymes. Level 3- Nano-tech This level is a development plant for nano bots and serves as both a creation and programming point. Level 4- Weapons (Focus- Biological) This floor is dedicated to breeding and creating biological weapons. This is where the products from level 2 go for testing and refining, it is also where new creatures are created. Level 5- Weapons (Focus- Technological) This floor is dedicated to the research and development of devices for war that are purely technological in nature, it is home to a variety of unusual concepts that all lack labels for safety. Level 6- Physics (Focus- Classified) This is a restricted level, research type is unknown as is the path to reach it. Level 7- Mystic (Focus- Classified) See description for previous level. Level 8-15- Elemental Studies (Focus- Dependant on floor) These floors are not off limits, but the research being done on elements is generally misleading or seems to be purely observational for the moment. The truth of the matter is that all research save floors 5 through 7 is for the improvement of body modification techniques and parts. Level 16- Materials (Focus- Synthetics and Reinforcement) This level is dedicated to making better materials for use in building other equipment. Research is done into making stronger plastics, metals, ceramics, etc. This is the final known level.

Ka'rinth stretched slowly as he looked around at what he and Shadow had managed in only a day, clearing the area and growing the crops for cover had only taken a few hours of their time with their earth magic at full potential. The majority of their time beyond that had been preparing the house and the scarecrows. The house had taken sometime to manipulate into existance and soon they would burrow into the ground to recover some of the more expendable shelves of their library for show. Ka'rinth streched as he wove his way between tall stalks of what looked like corn to check on each of the scarecrows one more time. The first few hours were always the most critical for observing fused creations and these were no exception. After making the round he returned to the house and nodded, all seemed to be doing well at the moment, but the inside of the structure was the next matter to see to.
Furniture and some pieces of equipment would be needed to make it seem lived in and to perfect the cover. He moved to the shed area as he began mentally laying plans for the interior design of this new home. Something simple would be the most misleading, don't you agree brother? He spoke aloud as he reached the shed and walked into the small space, the smell of grain, seeds, and dirt was strong within the simple wooden walls.
As his hand reached out to caress a dark scythe, with a smooth burned ashwood haft, sitting next to an identical scythe with a rosewood haft, his entire demeanor changed fractionally and the voice of Shadow leaked out. Ah, too true brother, too true. Maybe just a table and stool set up in the main room, and just a desk and comfortable chair in the library would be sufficient. The kitchen would of course be for any unwanted guests that may drop by so leave it basic as well. As he spoke his aura flared outward through the building and encouraged the growth of cells in the wood at several points throughout the house. Gradually it warped and twisted until a short time later he was forced to ground his aura as a half dozen stools, a table, and a desk took form. It was time and past to reenergize himself and retrieve the book cases, he had done most of the earth magic this time and left the scarecrows to Ka'rinth, so he would let his other half raise the library and set the carpet over the trap door.
The figure's demeanor changed once more and Ka'rinth nodded at Shadow's work, he always had been a bit better at creating furniture than Ka'rinth himself and one sure sign of intelligence was deligation. Ka'rinth walked slowly to the library as thoughts spun through his mind and stopped once he was over the section of books he wanted to retrieve, earth magic once more filled the house as he worked diligently to put the finishing touches on the inside of the structure.
It had taken some time to arrange the interior of his new home to his liking, but at last Ka'rinth had finished. He had also managed to arrange for material to be brought to him nightly by a small group of mercenaries that were little more than bandits just beyond the Black Companies borders. I look forward to receiving our first shipment tonight brother, but what I wonder at is what quality will it be? Not that it matters for our purposes, but it would be simpler if we had the chance to just gather the materials we need.
Red eyes flashed in the dark windowless interior of the house as Ka'rinth paced back and forth in the library, he had managed to salvage his and Shadow's leftover research, and now it was simply a matter of working on it in relative privacy. Already he was building up stores of dark energy by the simple act of imbuing a simple stone knife with his own energy. In truth though, he needed to create a new focus and harvest the souls he depended on. This thought remained dominant in his mind as he sat at last by the desk and began to alter his own body with Shadow's input to once more make it war worthy.

The dark figure of Ka'rinth rose slowly from where he had sat for several hours, his bones made no noise as he rose, not even cracking as he flexed his newly altered body. It was actually easier to work on specimens he was not currently inhabiting, but that was not always an option. He moved calmly thinking on the materials he had used on his old bodies and wondered aloud, Where would I be able to find angels, demons, and other unusual entities to disect and use as base forms for my bodies? I need more information on the world and other areas, I've only ever dealt with humans and super natural beings that were a random sampling. I need actual groups of these entities for my research and adaptations. I guess it's time to go on and deal with the myriad devils in this world. I'll just have to make sure I'm home in time for the first shipment.
With his monologue finished for show, Ka'rinth moved away from the library and out into the crops, he passed corn and plants that looked the exact same but served as hosts to a very different type of plant. His eyes were sharp as he passed his scarecrows, they were truly useful sentries and did their job wonderfully, and disappeared into the forest.

A cart creaked slowly out of the forest and towards the house that Ka'rinth and Shadow had spent the last day perfecting. Little stood out about the cart save that a large tarp covered the contents, and the two horses pulling it had the powerful build of war horses. The driver looked around with a slight feeling of unease, as he creaked to a stop in front of the building, he coughed lightly. Even without the warning of his superiors that something was off about the resident, seeing what he was delivering was enough to make him think the owner of the property was queer in some way. He paused in getting off his cart and took a sword from beneath the driver's seat, it was to be as much of a comfort as a precaution. He moved slowly to the door and knocked softly, half hoping that the owner would either not hear or be away.

The door opened shortly after the knock and a figure hidden by a black robe with the cowl pulled too far forward to show any features stood silently in front of the driver. The driver glanced nervously at the figure before saying in a gruff voice that matched his scarred exterior, I've got the first shipment sir, the one that you payed in advance for. No response was given by the figure, instead it just moved and gestured with a sleeve towards the back where the library sat. The driver being a practical man glanced at the wagon and back inside before moving out and attaching his sword to his back, unloading the cargo. Some of the bodies were difficult to identify due to dismemberment, however most seemed on the surface to be human. There were a few notable exceptions, but overall, it seemed all were dead. That is until one let out a rattling cough that suggested the verge of death and not the actual embrace. It would take some time for the lone driver to finish moving the bodies and pieces thereof into the back room and toss them down the trapdoor into the dark room below. But with each body he carried he made sure to know exactly where the robed figure was anytime he was in the vicinity of the hole.

As the last body was thrown into the hole in the library, the robed figure was suddenly next to the driver and pushing the trap door closed with a resounding thud. It then just turned towards the man and waited, nothing could be seen of it's form or features. The unnerved driver moved backwards slowly ready to grab his sword if the thing moved towards him, he had truly not expected it to be nearly as fast or as silent as it seemed it was. He backed all the way to the outer door and pivoting slightly jumped to his wagon, startling the team. As he grabbed the reins and settled himself, a single sight caught in his peripheal vision sent chills down his spine. The robed figure was in the doorway and closing it far faster than it should have been able to get there from the library, more disturbing than that though was that the robe seemed to collapse into nothingness just before the door fully closed. The man knew that sometimes the trick to surviving was knowing when not to ask questions and simply turned his team around and set them at a brisk pace back the way he had come. Even in his haste though he was careful to make sure they did not go fast enough to injure themselves in an unseen hole.

Ka'rinth emerged from the woods at the edge of his farm with a smile on his face that made him look distinctly feral. His red eyes glowed as he wove his way through the crops that all looked like corn stalks. As he reached his house, he moved to the shed and took the black handled scythe from the wall before entering the house. He had been told by his sentry that the delivery had gone smoothly and before he settled down for the evening to do his research and alterations, he needed to secure a pathway for his harvesting. He moved calmly to the back wall and using the scythe like an etcher made the outline of a doorway in the wall between two shelves. His earth magic then twisted the wall so that it was in fact a door that opened to nothing more than a wall. He spent several minutes carefully sculpting the frame of the door and smoothing the door itself with both the scythe, his claws, and his earth magic. After some work it was done and he was ready for the final preperation. Ka'rinth raised his right index finger to his mouth and bit the finger until it bled freely. He then ran his bloody finger over the door frame and floor beneath so that all of it was bound to his body and magic. Finally he turned and carved a section of the frame away from the wall and placed the shaving in a belt pouch. His red eyes glowed as he motioned and a wooden 'curtain' fell from above the door way to hide it and make it look exactly like the rest of the walls. His preperations finished he sat behind his desk to relax and restore some of his reserves while he had the oppurtunity.

After a short time had passed, Ka'rinth stood and still carrying his black scythe, made his way out towards the fields and the forest beyond. His red eyes glowed as he melted into the ground at the edge of his crops. As he disappeared, a slight flicker of movement through the crops was the only thing to suggest that something may be present to notify him of any dangers, or occurances. No magic could be sensed once Ka'rinth had left but there was some type of minor presence none the less.

Dark energy suddenly welled up within the vacant house at the center of the odd fields. After a long moment light filled the house from the library to the front where it slipped under the doorway. Ka'rinth opened the door in the library slowly revealing an underground den behind him where the wall to outside should have been. He stepped through the door slowly, filled with dark energy for the first time in weeks. His eyes glowed red as the door was closed behind him and he placed a half dozen books on his desk, and sat down to begin his studies. He had an idea of a methodology to gain more powerful bodies and parts for those bodies. If the angel bodies he had taken from the sanctuary so long ago were so far superior to humans, then demons with all their myriad forms, promised to be most advantageous. He would just have to control them long enough to vivasect them and use their bodies.

As Ka'rinth stood slowly, his dark skin blending with the dark wood of the desk, he smiled. It was nearly time to make his break into the world of demon summoning. He would begin his preparations now, but would not truly begin until his newest shipment of parts had come in. The previous shipment was currently stored out of sight where no one that was familiar with his modus operandi would be able to interfere. He smiled at the uses of the hidden door between his book shelves and the lair in another land that it led too. The freedom having two very separate homes was allowing him was a superb sensation. He hummed softly as he moved to open the trap door that led to his storage room and with a smile, began to gather the materials he would need for his first spell, as he did this he spoke aloud to himself.
Let us see, blood is always easy to come by. Silver and iron to help bind it to this realm and circle. A suitable offering though.... that is a more difficult decision. For something as weak as an Imp, a human would be overkill, so I might as well use an infant or toddler from near my other home should more than suffice. Hmmm, and if I am reading this properly, having part of a demon or it's blood makes it easier to bind it to them. Also contracts signed in blood are binding and since paper is from a plant I can easily make some special fine print to get it to sign with it's blood willingly. As Ka'rinth finished speaking he had gathered the last few supplies he needed. He had a jar of blood that was relatively fresh, chalk, six candles, several sheets of paper, a quill pen, and two plum sized lumps of metal, one iron and one silver. He moved slowly back to the library and placed all of the materials on the desk with a dark smile before moving to uncover his secret door and disappear into the wall to where ever his other home was located. It would not take long to gather the final piece for his ritual.

Ka'rinth had returned within minutes of his departure, it had always pleased him just how useful his earth magic was for theft and assassination. His red eyes glowed as the doorway opened and the loud echoing cries of the infant he carried filled the house. He moved quickly down into his supply room and choosing a special seedling from a shelf filled with small pouches of seeds, stepped to a vacant corner of the burrow. His eyes glowed as his aura, and the magic that filled it embraced the seed with a gentle caress that caused it to grow at an extreme rate. As it finished developing, a translucent pod, slightly larger than the child stood with it's cap open as though it was the opening of a honey suckle. Ka'rinth slid the baby into this opening and closed it softly, his methods for containment and stasis of anything other than his own forms tended to vary based on time and need. This pod would sustain the infant for a little more than an hour but it was more than enough time for what he intended. With his initial task completed he moved up from the room and out to the main room where he opened the outer door and stood calmly awaiting the newest delivery.

Ka'rinth smiled darkly as he heard the horse and cart draw near, his glowing red eyes turned towards the source as the horse drawn cart emerged from the woods. He smiled to himself as the man drew in front of the house, and called out, Welcome, what have you brought for me today?
The driver's eyes widened fractionally as he saw what appeared to be the actual owner of the property. Seeing the glowing eyes and the dark features, the driver almost wished the figure from the prior night was answering again. Well sir, we got four more humans, one alive, an elf, and a living drow if you can believe it.
Ka'rinth smiled darkly as he considered the possible research he could do on the elf and drow as he nodded and said, Superb, your mercenary company deserves it's reputation and a living drow is easy to see you all managing. I'll help you unload so that you can get back to your comrades quickly. If possible I think it would be better for everyone if you delivered every other day so that it saves us all time. As he spoke Ka'rinth moved to the back of the cart and lifted the tarp, his eyes moved to the living almost immediately and he smiled in a manner far darker than his previous smile had been. He reached in and grabbed the bonds of each to drag them out of the cart and into the house. He ignored the struggling of the two and as the drow attempted to hook the door frame with it's foot he simply phased the wood of the frame so that the foot passed through it. It won't be that simple, you two will be my guests for a bit, you a bit longer than the human.
As he spoke he threw both down to the ground in the main room before slipping past the driver who was carrying one of the other bodies inside. He moved to the cart and grabbing one foot of each of the remaining bodies, pulled them off the cart and dragged them in after the driver and too the library where the driver had just dumped his body. He dragged the bodies to the trap door and allowed them to simply fall in without much care for how they landed. He then removed a pouch from his person and passed it to the driver saying softly as he closed the trap door, Please close the door on your way out. The driver for his part simply nodded and went on his way back to his comrades and away from this unusual residence.

Ka'rinth's eyes glowed as he moved towards his two captives, it would be best to move all of the specimens to his other residence now before they had a chance to acclamate themselves to their surroundings. He grabbed the bonds of each prisoner tightly and marched them to the hidden door in the library, it opened as he approached and as he passed through, all that could be seen from within the house was shadows as the two captives were set upon by something. Ka'rinth was back inside the house and closing the door in moments, he knew that the two were truly captives now and would work on them at his own leisure. He motioned and the bodies in the supply room were gone. He sat at his desk for several minutes glancing at high points on the text of the open book before standing once more and moving to the center of the room with his materials. First he laid the candles in a circle with equal distance between each, next he placed the metal on the ground and with his aura shaped each lump into two triangles that interwove with one another to form a discolored pentagram. Finally, he etched a circle of blood connecting the candles and the points of the pentagram. He then went to his supply room and retrieved the now sleeping infant which he placed to the side of the circle. He spent a handful of minutes writing a contract on the paper with the remaining blood, before combining the five pages into three in a way that made two of the pages invisible. He then prepared for the final step, the actual ritual for summoning a demon.
