((Fair warning. Azzo and Zia are playing doctor. There shouldn't be any squmish inducing bits in this but in case there is.... you have been warned!! Pulling an arrow out of a friend is only so fun...))
Once they were back at the ranger cabin Niflhel had locked the door behind him and every other door and window on the first floor he could find. There wasn't going to be any unexpected intruders, well expect Zia in which case he would yell for her as soon as she managed to get into the cabin. He'd carried Polaris up stairs to the bed he'd been sleeping in and sat her down. "Power down and then, Don't move." He said sternly almost sounding mad as he moved to get the first aid kit and other supplies. Ugh, he hated the idea of having to dig out an arrow from someone's side but there wasn't a hospital close by and well, it was either do this or try to get a taxi. Neither were options he wanted to do but the first was the lesser of two evils.
He'd found a stash of liquor, luckily to clean the wound out, checking the first aid kit it was luckily big enough to have some sewing instruments in it for temporary stitching. All of this and more, he looked around, hoping Zia would get her butt back before he had to start on any of this. Though he got a few rags and a pan of water so he could at least start washing around the affected area. "This is going to be fun." He said dragging one of the stools from the kitchen and sitting on it beside her. "I'm going to have to wash around the wound." He said, "Hopefully Zia'll be back soon and she'll help."

It really was a feat. How she could possibly be both exhausted and yet still have so much adreneline running through her veins? In the end she was feeling fairly delerious, and not very argumentative, following directions as she was guided to his bedroom.
"Won't it hurt more and heal slow if I power down?" She asked softly as she lay down, though truthfully keeping the henshin up was beginning to take it's toll. Maybe it was better. Else she might do it halfway through on accident and scare the s**t out of him.
He was mad at her. She could read both the anger and worry from his face as he pulled things together to prepare. She tried to lift her hand lightly to brush the anger away with a stroke of his cheek, but she was thwarted by his movements around. As unhappy as he was she was just relieved and for the moment her body was soothing her pain. This would not last for long once he started working.
In her few moments of serenity she offered him a soft smile, teasing him mildly. "So how many times have you done this partic..ular procedure?"

Zia was still in a mad panic, having been separated from Lily somewhere in her frenzy to get clean, even though she had exchanged some offer to drive her the hell out of there in passing at some point. She didn't even know if she heard her.
She was really concerned with that, what she was concerned with was getting her stuff and her camping supplies and her dog and getting the hell home.
The shoulders and collar of her khaki shirt were dark with water as freshly washed and still wet curls sprang out in a mass of chaos eating her face and upper body rather than the neatly separated ringlets that were usually tucked or tied behind her head. She looked like she was going crazy. And she kind of was, especially when she got to the ranger cabin and found the door locked. She raked the doorknob and pounded for half a second before deciding it'd just be quicker to temporarily turn into a cat again and shimmy back in through the window she exited from.
So the purple cat fell in with a thump and started skittering all over the place until Niflhel must've heard her and yelled for her, which made her jump, and then redirect her determined beeline towards where he'd yelled from. "WHA-- oh, geez," That's riiiight, arrow stabbings. Fun stuff. "Don't you think it would've been more productive to rush her into the city in the goddamn car?" She asked with a huff. Oh please, pleeeease, couldn't they just leave?

Niflhel sighed, "If you don't power down you'll be more tired. Now Listen to me." He insisted as he went about cleaning around the wound as carefully as he can, "You can explain the knife cut later." He added with another unhappy look at Aurora.
She tried to brush his cheek but now wasn't the time for that as he was working, "Not enough." He heard the cat enter the cabin and did indeed yell for her.
When she came in looking frazzled as s**t he paused his eyes narrowing. "Obviously you weren't here. And Like hell I'm calling a cab to explain how she got an arrow in her side and there is no way in hell I'm calling an ambulance after that bullshit." He pointed towards the lake.
"Wash your hands and help me. Then we can take her to the hospital." He looked grumpy, and he wasn't in the mood to be told what to do, "We can pass it off as a deep knife wound.... thankfully." He didn't like saying those words as he checked around the area to try to make sure it didn't hit anything vital. "I wouldn't be doing this if it'd struck something that would cause major s**t. BESIDES tell me how you're going to take her in the car with three dogs, and none of them have common sense enough to stay away from an arrow in someone's side so that they won't dig it in deeper." Niflhel had points, he was thinking about this before he even started working if Harley or one of the others decided Aurora was a good resting spot she'd have that arrow dug in no tellings how deep.

There was a frown, a pouting frown that crossed her face as she was brushed off but she obliged him nonetheless, powering down and settling onto the bed as still as possible.
"Ow ow ow ow OW!" She whimpered and whined, muscles tensing as the alcohol hit the tender wound. She was trying hard to stay still, really she was! But the sudden jolt from happy delirium to flooding pain was met with a minor subconcious recoiling.
How many times he as chided Mato to be a good boy and grin and bear it as she cleaned a deep cut? How many skinned knees had Bodaway cried and flailed through.
"You're supposed to blow on it" She yelped, more out of routine then actual suggestion. It wasn't very likely straight up alcohol worked like peroxide. Kisses and blowing away the bubbles weren't going to make this owwie better, no matter how many times those words had left her mouth in her young lifetime.
Her eyes turned momentarily towards the cat, not really in the mood or clarity to ask the questions that would later dance through her head. Doctor was maybe a good idea...

Zia did not claim to be a medical genius. She had no interest in pursuing medical knowledge until very recently and had only done amateur patch ups on herself and Chris, but she definitely knew one thing, and that was Azzo was doin' it wrong. As usual.
"You're torturing her, dumbass," She interjected the second she saw the liquor in her hand. "You don't just go pouring whatever hard liquor you find in people's open wounds!" For this, she needed to shift back into a civilian just to smack him upside the head. "Not only does that hurt more, water is better. And there should be an antibacterial in the kit anyway."
She took off the ranger khaki shirt to run around in the tank top beneath it and ran off to scrub her hands down. Obviously Azzo was incompetent so she was going to have to save the da-- Shut up, Zirconia.
"Besides, you're wasting good whiskey, you heathen," She called out as she scrubbed and pulled her hair back and scrubbed again before rushing back to Aurora's side. "I'm still not comfortable pulling the arrow out. We have no way of knowing how much it's plugging up or what's going to come gushing out if we remove it. We could take her to the Red Light District--" But... some girls with part time nursing experience and experience keeping secrets weren't really a match for a hospital. At least, she hadn't seen them prove they were.
"God, I don't know..." She said timidly as she inspected the wound up close.

Niflhel sighed as Zirconia kept on. "Yes it hurts. It's whiskey, and it's better than that cheap a** stuff in the kit. I learned it from Gramps before he passed away. Who learned it from his grand father who learned from his...." He paused looking at Zia wondering if he needed to keep going.
"Really do you not trust me at all?" He paused and showed her the bottle, "Here you want the rest of it? There's still 3/4ths of a bottle." He'd given Aurora a rag to bite down on before he actually started pouring. He wasn't a complete idiot no matter how many people thought he was. "Look I know I'm not the smartest cookie in the bunch but damnit sometimes you have to trust me."
He was looking at the arrow softly tugging at the skin, "It'll be fine." He added with a confident look as he was inspecting the knife wound too. "If it wasn't she would've already bled out because of this knife wound...." He frowned at the thought of it, "It's lodged in there but not as bad as it could've been." He sat back with a sigh rubbing his forehead with a sleeve. He had powered down in the time he was getting the supplies and back up to clean his uniform.
"Red Light District??" He paused, "Do you even know where those whores have been?" He knew what that was, surprisingly enough. He sighed, "I'll yank it out in a second, see if you can find anything to numb around the area. I'm going to get some more towels to make sure what little bit of blood does seep out, it won't be on the bed itself. Or we'll probably be called back to explain that." They could throw away the towels but the bedding not so much. When he got back he sighed and kissed Aurora lightly on the forehead, "We'll have that out soon..." He promised and paused, "Zia can you do stitches?" He asked suddenly, he could sort of but they always looked horrible and like they were going to come out at any second. "Something that'll hold long enough until we can get her back to Destiny?"

Bickering like siblings. In her head the voices almost seemed to shift to other familar voices, the soft masculine tones of her brothers throwing their words back and forth. It was comforting in a way.
But they were talking and talking about here like she wasn't there. Plans and ideas.. it was kind of strange.. almost like she was a 'thing' as opposed to a person. Had she been more clear of head she might have fussed about it, made some comment about 'not talking about her like she's dead already'. But clear she was not and through eyes squinted in pain she looked back and forth between the two as they spoke.
She spit out the rag after it had been uncerimoniously shoved into her mouth. She didn't want or need that, so she thought. Soon enough though she might change her mind.
Aurora smiled a little as her forehead was kissed and she was finally addressed. "I can sew" Right, because that would be good, sewing up your own side while you were delirious from pain and blood loss.

"No you can't," Zia shot back at Aurora. At least right now she couldn't. If she wasn't totally out of it and wobbly now she definitely would be trying to sew her own side back together.
"Of course I know where they've been. I also know they run a makeshift hospital and are really good at keeping secrets," Of course, she hadn't been there since the mass BMC recovery that went on there after the first Elysion battle. They probably wouldn't recognize her as anything but a weird, talking cat anyway. "Nevermind, that's not a big-- How is a knife wound any less suspicious than an arrow? At least an arrow can be passed off as a hunting accident."
Upon further inspection, she was finally willing to admit it wasn't in that deep, but the arrowhead still presented a problem. "Actually, rapid senshi healing might save your bacon, provided I'm not miscalculating," Zia said. "I'm still a newbie at this," But honestly, if she had the least experience in the room she might be a little creeped out. Having to play nurse like this more than once was unnerving. Zee was no medical expert. She had done internet research to patch up minor wounds and a first aid kit but that was far from actual training. She was so not down with doing this, but she was going to try, and hopefully without killing Aurora in the process.
Actually, thinking about accidentally killing Aurora made her hyperventilate a little. And then slooowly try to gather what she knew. And then started just rapidly acting, starting a frantic examination of checking Aurora's midsection for swelling, checking her pulse, and trying to gauge her blood pressure and make sure there really was no further damage. "I'll do this. You go get me an exacto knife, leatherman, something that can make a thin incision. And super glue."

Niflhel paused, "No you can't Sew your own side back together. That is insane, even more insane than us trying to be doctors."
"Well fine we can have her double checked there but seriously I don't want her in the car with the dogs when there's an arrow in her side, that would be worse." He repeated again.
He paused at Zia looking at her and held up a knife, he already had that, "Super glue check the first Aid kit, already grabbed that, there's stuff for stitching too." He looked at Aurora and then Zia, "Honestly I don't know how we'll pass off either of these because it's a knife and arrow wound and when she's feeling better she has some explainin to do."
He was serious. As he sat back down, "I can get the arrow out no problem Zia, that's why I'm still standing here like this. I need someone to sew so it doesn't look like a drunkard did it. I haven't gotten the hang of actually stitching anything." It's why he didn't make his own puppet clothing though he didn't say that.

"Sewing and cooking and cleaning." She insisted as they both turned down her offer. Between her childhood and her own personal attempts Aurora had groomed herself into quite the little home maker. After all, it was her dream job up through her junior year in highschool.
As Zia began to check this and that on her, she remained cooperative enough, laughing a little in ticklishness until the action sent pain running through her sides again. Focusing a little more on being still, she tried very hard to look and be as serious as they were being. She wasn't serious enough however to realize how scary their talk had become. Exacto knives? Glue? They'd be gluing her back together?
"Store robbery" Yeah he hadn't asked for it yet, but when his thoughts touched the air, the words spilled out of her mouth. She hadn't planned on telling Azzo about her moonlighting as a superhero of the less super sort. About the little convienence store robber she'd went up against to receive her nice little stab wound. But it seemed the cat was out of the bag and she'd have to. And then he could yell about her doing it while he saved girls from being mugged or ran out of their tents at the same time. Oh well.

Zia was still kind of freaking out. Azzo could've held the exacto knife up to her face and she still would've stared at him for a full minute before figuring out he had it. She did, at least, manage to come to to say "I wasn't going to put her in the car with the dogs, I was going to leave them, and you, here."
And then, "I'm not sure I trust you," She said, narrowing her eyes at him, half tempted to make a grab for it. He did use the verb 'yank' earlier.
But she did step aside, ready to watch closely to make sure he did it right. "Remember, as small as possible. And... uh... slowly. And," She just had to bite her lip and watch the ordeal, trying not to yell with a clean towel in hand to wipe away any blood as it oozed out.
---- However, she figured Azzo had unrealistic expectations for her sewing skills. Sutures weren't exactly like sewing curtains and after she had ******** up trying it once she had found much better alternatives than something as extreme as home-done body sewing. She wasn't sure he was going to go for her gluing his girlfriend back together, though, so she just waited quietly until he was done and then moved in and got to work. she flipped, or at least, pushed, Aurora up on her side for more stinging sterilization with the first aid kits' antibacterial and wiping away more blood. then she pressed the wound together and sealed with with the glue, followed by even more antibacterial, padding, and tape. Lots of tape. If she had anything, but what was in the first aid kit, she probably would've just gone ahead and wrapped the poor girl up in duct tape like a broken hockey stick. Zee was hugely paranoid about this patch up job holding.
But after, she flopped on her butt on the floor and sighed, all that rapid movement fading away to a slump. "That should actually hold. Maybe. It's a little deeper than I'd like but you're... yanno." An eternal. Hopefully she wasn't overestimating her senshi healing. "You're not showing any signs of internal bleeding and you're still conscious so obviously your blood pressure's high enough... but if you pass out, we'll have to rush you to the hospital. If you don't, you should probably be able to beat this by just laying around until it's better."

Niflhel watched Zia' threateningly before he went to work to make sure there was no skin that would be caught before looking at Aurora and Zia. There was one thing to ponder really quickly was slow better or quick like a band-aid?
It was that pause that had him beating himself up noodling with the wound trying to easily slide it out without having to worry about the whole snagging on anything unwanted. Though once he realized the arrow head was flat and how the wound itself was he quickly just made one quick and steady yank and the arrow was out without having to cut anything else.
He sat up looking slightly smug it might have hurt like hell for a minute but it wasn't as antagonizing and torture inducing as treating with slow and deliberate care. "There."
He watched as Zia set to work cleaning the wounds and gluing it back together with a frown. I still think stitching would help better..." Though it looked like the whiskey had helped clot the blood quicker and now what was left seeping out was the little bit he had to adjust to remove the arrow quickly.

As quickly and deftly as Niflhel thought he pulled out the arrow Aurora reacted nonetheless violently to the sudden explusion of the foreign object from her body. He had done a good job, there was no doubt in that, but without the drugs or her powers she was just a girl. A girl with sharp projectile dug into her side.
Her body tensed as pain shot through her side and into her chest. Her toes curled and her fingers wrapped tightly in the blankets as all the delirum she'd felt before melted into sudden clarity. She should have kept the rag in her mouth because for atleast a split second it genuinely sounded like someone was murdering someone else in that small cabin hidden away in the woods.
Even after the arrow was removed she continued to whine and cry, her breath coming out in high pitched sobs as Zia went about cleaning her up. It was moments like this that stole all the glamor from being a senshi. That reminded a person of just how fragile they really were.
By the time Zia had finished her tears had finally subsided, her shifting and twitching relaxing to just let her lay in exhaustion. The prognosis was good and hopeful, whether it was the truth she could only assume that the other girl wouldn't lie. "Thanks..." Her voice was weak but the tone was obviously sincere as she rested her head in her arms. It seemed her next great battle was now simply the task of trying to stay awake despite the great desire to just go to sleep and stay that way until the pain subsided.

Zia couldn't help but want to sit there and dote on Aurora. A crying comrade in pain wasn't exactly an easy sight to bare. She even cut out a tirade about how Azzo obviously didn't know what he was talking about and held her tongue.
"Well, um," She gnawed on her lip some more, "You're conscious, aware... you don't have a head injury, so I'd say drink some water and rest..." For that, she half glanced to Azzo, hoping, if there was something wrong with that, he might know.
It still felt dangerous, turning medical advice into guesswork. She was still highly uncomfortable with the whole thing. She did perk up when she remembered she had a gatorade bottle meant for hiking today's rounds. It was still unopened since, well, they went off and fought a blob monster instead, so all she had to do was move a few steps out of the room and grab it before offering it to Aurora.
Ugh, what she wouldn't give for the ability to google this s**t.
