That morning, he'd laid there and stared up at his ceiling, wondering what to do today. He felt restless and wanted to go do something different. Something other than wondering the halls. Or following gaggles of people in order to meet them. That had been done yesterday. Lycander didn't mind doing the same thing again, but today just felt nice and, well, he was feeling a little cooped up. What he really wanted, he realized, was to get out and explore the town some. Or maybe take a small hike down to the arbor. Now there was something he hadn't done for a while!
So, after making his decision, Lycander was now enjoying the sight of the rural Clarus Arbor town. It was nice to get away from the hustle and bustle of the Academy. He smiled at those he passed, giving a small wave and a 'hello!". Even Lycander found he liked to take breaks from talking so much. Or he tried to. It never seemed to work out that well.
As he walked around, Lycander suddenly remembered about the sushi shop here. Aha! That was a great place to go visit! There was bound to be a decent amount of people around (not huge groups, but not a small scattering either). On top of that, great sushi. Grinning, the witch headed towards that, faint jingling heard from the gold bracelets he wore clanging together in a metallic chime. His bright gaze was always ever so watchful for new people to chat with or introduce himself to. And, as luck would have it (though the gal he eyed probably wouldn't feel so lucky), he found just such a person. But before he could even start in on his usually, "Hi how are you?" tirade, his eyes spotted something else with her. It looked like a pet at first, but then he blinked and thought he was wrong. Was she...would it be rude to ask if she was? Lycander shrugged to himself. Well, it never hurt to ask, right? And besides. He would at least meet someone new!
Walking over to the woman, he gave his charming smile that was nothing but friendly. "How goes it, miss?" A pause. "Sorry to intrude, but your cat caught my eye. And you yourself. Would it be terribly rude of me to ask if you are, by chance, an Ars Lilium?" His voice was light and cheery with no hint of mocking or underlying meanings. He truly was curious. That and he had been considering possibly looking into what it would take to become an Ars Lilium. And if this woman was one, well what better way to get the chance to know what it was like then by speaking to one himself! "Oh forgive me! My name is Lycander."

Shea and Koray had woke up in a little inn, in the town of Clarus Arbor. They had been out taking care of a swamp golem that had taken some local children. Only having heard of it while passing through and of course Shea being the peace lover and well child lover she was couldn't just standby and do nothing. It took her and Koray three days in the area but they killed the beast and saved the children it had taken. Sadly, loosing one child for finding the swamp golems cave to late. A lost child something like this wore heavily on Shea's soul. Drawing herself out of bed she leans over and gently pets Koray awake. The familiar could tell by her eyes she was still thinking about the child that they found on the cave floor, cold, blue and half devoured. Koray also knew that the Ars Lilium would blame herself even if it wasn't her fault.
Shortly after they awoke the innkeeper knocked at their door. Greeting them warmly and letting them know that the local sushi bar owner was the father of one of the kids they had saved and that as a thank you, he extended an invitation out to the familiar and the Ars Lilium to come to his shop for some food on the house. Koray was of coursed thrilled, Shea was happy for him being happy...
After some pushing the familiar got the girl up and moving, heading for the sushi bar. Moving in a slow lazy sway towards their destination the faint sound of metal jingling together that could be heard, caused Koray to look past Shea and to a red headed boy that was approaching them with a rather dashing smile. He wondered if it was someone the Ars Lilium knew. Shea though as he looked up to her seemed just as surprised that someone had approached them as he was. The young woman blinked softly and paused her walking, offering a polite sweet smile back to the man. Shea tilted her head to the side, reddish brown curls springing around her face with the motion of the head tilt. Maybe he was from the town and had heard about her slaying the golem?
His friendly attitude pleased her so she responded back to the man, "it goes well..." Her smile grew at the pause and the mention of her 'cat', she looked down to Koray then back to the man. "It's no intrusion at all...we welcome company." Her tone of voice was sweet like honey, lazily dripping from her lips were her words as she watched the talkative man go on. Finding him amusingly curious already. A hand goes up and over her mouth to cover a gentle laughter, rude to ask her if she was an Ars Lilium? This was funny in that no one had even seemed bothered enough to ask if it was rude. His apparent curiosity had her more than happy to answer his question, she loved to help after all and if someone was curious about something she knew well then far be it from her to keep them in the dark.
Lowering her hand she simply nodded as yes to him, then looking to the cat expectantly. The marble colored familiar snorts lowly and tips his head in a silent introduction to the man. Shea holds out her hand to him for a shake after his late introduction, giggling softly again before she introduces herself. "It's quite alright, Lycander. I am Shea and this is my familiar Koray." The cat looks up to the male and blinks, Shea shakes her head softly at the familiar then looks back to the man. "It's a pleasure to meet you, do you live around here ? " It was time for a question of her own.

Ohhhh so his suspicions had been right then? She was indeed an Ars Lilium? This was fantastic! Once he got past his chatterful nature it would be at least. He just couldn't help himself. And she was very sweet with a voice that was easy and enjoyable to listen to. "I am quite glad it goes well! And that it is not an intrusion." Lycander grinned between the two, woman and feline. "If it is alright with both of you, I'd love to offer my company for a little while at least! I have to admit I haven't been down here to Clarus Arbor for a while. Felt like getting a good walk in today though." He paused long enough to realize she was laughing at him. And such a nice laugh she had!
Lycander took her hand gently in his and gave it a light shake. His quirky grin lit up his face at the fact he was making her giggle still. Yes, he seemed to have that effect on people sometimes. Clearly, no one was every fully prepared for the mile a minute talk he could provide when he wanted to. "Shea and Koray, is it?" Stepping back just a little, Lycander bowed to them both in a much more formal introduction. "It is a most exquisite pleasure to meet you both. Especially such a fine chance meeting as this. Unexpected and full of surprises." He glanced down at Koray. "Familiar's are not something I am, well, familiar with. It is something I am curious about. Only the Ars Lilium can summon them, correct?"
Her question made him blink and halt his rapid speech. Rubbing at the back of his neck, Lycander gave them a sheepish grin. "Sort of. I currently reside up at the Academy. But my family is down in Moonfall." Ah, Moonfall. That was one of his favorite towns. All the hustle and bustle of the shops meant there was always something to do there. "What about the two of you? Do you live around here? Or call the Arbor your home?"
Being the gentleman he could be, Lycander gestured towards the sushi bar they had both been heading towards. "What say we continue our conversation over some sushi?" Offering his arm to Shea, he grinned down at her familiar. "I'm sure you wouldn't say no to a nice bit of sushi."

Shea watched the young man carefully, though he seemed friendly one could never be to careful. Offer his company! How nice, Shea could use another person to talk to, one that did grouch all the time. Smiling she waited from him to finish speaking before answering him. It was kind of cute how excited and cheerful he was. Her chuckling continued for a few moments till he paused. Coughing softly she spoke up, "that would be splendid.. we do love company, and well it's been one of those days so someone else to chat with would be delightful. Oh? Clarus Arbor is a grand area, I normally come here myself for the swamp root that grows nearby...good for a many potions you know." When the shake was returned she gave him an almost shy grin. His shake was light, his grin quirky and inviting causing her to giggle a few more times.
Shea wasn't prepared for the chatty fellow, but was by no means discouraged by his talking, he was much to interesting plus she liked people that weren't afraid to speak up. She'd probably be more chatty herself if not for being in such a poor mood from loosing the child. Her brilliant blue orbs sparkled softly as she listened to him mock their names, nodding to let him know that was correct. Another soft chuckle came out as he stepped back to bow to them, formal introduction? What a flatter? Shea gave a bow back to him the fabric of her cream colored robe fluttering with the wind in a gently sway. "Unexpected and full of surprises...such is the world, my friend." Shea giggled back to him with a growing grin, her mood starting to lighten already. Koray brushed up against her leg with a soft almost annoyed sounding purr, but it was to show her he was glad she seemed to be relaxing down. The familiar reasoned that the witch boy might not be so bad after all, a little to chatty for his own taste but not horrible if he could put Shea in a better mood.
Koray decided to answer his question at the talk of familiars with a snorted response of, " correct, only Ars Lilium can summon us..." His glacer blue orbs stared up to the Witch, a slight defense setting in as he hissed slightly a counter question, "why so curious, do you plan to try and become one?..." He didn't know if he liked all these questions, sometimes Shea was a little to friendly to people and who knows this character could be a witch eater in disguise. The familiar brushed his charges leg again letting her know silently to be a bit wary of all the questions. However Shea shrugged her familiars silent warning off, she could tell that the witch was simply curious so she offered an apologetic look to the young man for her familiars behavior.
The sheepish grin only further proved her point that he was innocent from ill thoughts towards them. The young woman blinked slightly and shifted to rest her hands locked together and behind her back with a gentle nod. Moonfall was a beautiful place, so shiny and filled with lots of people. "I haven't been to the Academy in ages..." The woman absently comments before smiling and nodding her head. "Oh..us? No. We come from Lumena Castle Town..we just like to travel a lot." She answered leaning back then pulling her arms back down to her side, the bracelet around her wrist jingling and filling the air with a citrus scent.
When Lycander gestured towards the sushi bar, Koray lets out a pleased sound. "Sounds like a lovely plan! We were just heading there in fact." Shea looked to the offered hand for a moment before taking it gleefully. Koray rolls his eyes gently, "Of course not..." The pair wait for Lycander to move following after him as they head into the bar. "Have you ever had the sushi here? " She ask curiously looking over the bar as they enter it was a very nice place, lights and decoration strung up all over.

"Wonderful!" The redhead exclaimed, feeling very happy that neither seemed to mind his company. He may not have been in her company very long, but Lycander already liked being around Shea. She had a very mellow personality that he very much enjoyed. And it was always a plus when he didn't scare someone off or make them nervous by his love for talking. "One of those days? Well I can at least provide you with the 'someone new' to chat with." He grinned at both Ars Lilium and familiar. "Swamp root, huh? I've heard this is a wonderful area to get such herbs and plants as needed for potions." Although he had to admit he had not come here before looking for such things. Perhaps looking into what could be found here was on his agenda in the future? Lycander was also deeming Shea's giggle as cute.
So true, he thought. The world was full of many unexpected things and surprises around every corner. Take him, for example. Lycander hadn't planned on making it through school and becoming a witch. He really hadn't had too many goals in life, except to enjoy it and meet tons of new people. Then he went to school, found he enjoyed it greatly, and found himself the witch he currently was. "At least today was full of good unexpected surprises." He smiled, admiring how the wind teased her robe. Now that he looked, it was quite interesting. Lycander was no stranger to fashion. And Shea's taste in fashion was very unique, in his opinion. But then, so was his.
He had forgotten, or rather hadn't thought on the small little bit he heard about familiars being able to speak. So when Koray spoke up, emerald eyes grew bigger with excitement as he glanced down at the cat. "I see." He murmured, meeting those striking eyes without feeling intimidated by the defensive attitude. The redhead could understand. He was some random stranger that had just waltzed up and started talking and asking questions. "Yes, actually." Lycander admitted to Koray. "Or rather, I've thought about choosing that path. Have considered a Reaper as well. But I'd really like to know more about them before jumping into either one." He gave a small apologetic smile. "If you are willing, I'd love to hear from a familiar himself what familiar's are like. What they can do. What can't they do." He was very curious! It was probably plainly written all over his face. The apologetic look Shea gave him he merely smiled and winked. He wasn't offended in the least and didn't blame Koray either.
Lycander laughed lightly. "I haven't actually been part of the academy for a little while. I just live in the campus area still. It's usually nice and peaceful around there. But Moonfall will always hold my heart." He sighed almost dreamily. "Oh? I've not been to the Castle Town much. Was always either the Academy or Moonfall. Is it nice in Lumena? That's neat that you two travel. I probably would enjoy traveling a little bit too. Don't know why I haven't actually done so." A small pause was thrown into his speech. "Does it ever get lonely traveling, just the two of you?" He hoped it wasn't rude or offensive to ask such a thing. Lycander had just never known someone that reminded him of a nomad, in a sense.
"Fantastic!" He smiled even more when she took his hand without much hesitation. Eyes shifting down towards Koray, Lycander chuckled. "I didn't think you would. Have any preference for what sort of sushi you eat?" He asked the familiar before leading the two towards the sushi bar. Entering the bar, Lycander felt quite at home. It was very relaxed with a nice atmosphere about it. "A few times. It's been a while though." He admitted, leading them along to the bar itself. Lycander grabbed a couple trays for them and gestured for Shea and Koray to proceed him. "But they are always talking about how good the sushi here is. So I'm assuming it is just as good as it was before, if not even better. And I really enjoyed it the last time I came here."

"Yes, yes you can.." She giggled, very pleased with the new company to chat with. Koray snorting thinking to himself that his company was some of the best and the girl should count herself lucky. "It is, there are all kinds of things around here just waiting to be found, its part of the thrill of the area hunting.." Shea loved to travel all over however this area being her favorite for items that involved her potions, as the best stuff can be found in nature.
Shea nodded at his words, well this was half-true for her anyways. At least it was a good surprise to wake up and meet a friendly face such as him. Maybe this was Karma's pick me up for her ? Her lips spread into a slow grin and she softly replied to him. "I'm glad you think so..." reaching up she tucked a long reddish-brown curl behind her ear. The wind picking up but not enough to be offensive just enough to tussle a few strands of her air about and fan the citrus scent that seemed to be all over her person. Perhaps perfume one might think but that was far from true, the relaxing delightful smell was part of her magic in a way.
Koray noted the excitement in the witches eyes with a soft snot. Witches honestly, they could be so immature. The fact that he didn't seem intimidated by the familiar tickled the cat. When Lycander admitted to him it made him only slightly less suspicious of the man. "Hm, both are equally rewarding..I'm sure." Koray felt a bit sorry if the boy became a sorry for the boys familiar if he were to choose this path. The fellow was awful talkative. Maybe that was just his impression though, everyone had different taste. Twitching his nose he drew his head back. He wasn't against telling the boy vague details about familiars. "Mm, we'll see....maybe after food." The curiosity could bite at the man a little longer until Koray had his fish.
Shea blinked, blushing slightly and grinning. "I see, is there any reason to live there then and not back in Moonfall? " She was curious herself now, and his almost dreamy sigh had her wondering why not go back to Moonfall if the man loved it that much? Maybe he had someone special or a job in the town around the Academy."It's very nice in Lumena, a hustle and bustle with all kinds, though mostly like myself and reapers are the general population. I'd assume this is because we often get called upon by the Royals to help them out... " Her voice trailed off, the potion she was making was actually for a Royal. She'd have to remember to do that and take it to them later. "Not nearly as exciting as Moonfall though.." She admitted on a sheepish grin.
"Mm traveling is a good way to keep yourself busy well at least for us, we just like to go with the flow so to speak...its much easier than following a set pattern ...to many thing go wrong when you plan, plus you don't get the added 'surprises'. Surprises are so nice to...you should travel more, when you have the chance that is. Do you like surprises?.. " Shea had might have trailed off the subject a bit there and hoped he didn't mind. The woman had a tendency to do that in conversation, get herself lost to her thoughts and just ramble a bit. Lonely?..Only when you stop to think about it, then she supposed it would. But most of the time she had Koray and he had her. They were family and so it was never to lonely. "Mm, not really. But we are used to having just each other.." Her soft voice had gone an octave lower at the answer but her smile never lacked in its happiness. Swaying again before taking a hold of the offered hand and walking with him. Koray seemed to smile at her words.
Entering the bar, the cheerful atmosphere only furthered the woman's growing good mood. "Oh..?" Koray padded after the pair and rested on the floor by the bar as they grabbed their trays. Shea more than willing to follow the other since honestly she had not been in here before and really didn't feel up to making a fool of herself. Holding the tray close she ran her eyes over the items at the bar. "Yes I've heard a few good things myself on this place." Reaching out she took up a few pieces of the sushi at the bar, holding some out for Koray to exam, only placing the item on the plate once the familiar nodded his approval to her. After taking up their fill they waited for the male witch to get his. Shea looked over at a few whispers, smiling gently at a few people behind the counter they where talking of her battle with the swamp golem. One woman leaning over the counter to thank her with a tear filled expression, to which Shea blushed and nodded a soft silent you're welcome.
She wasn't really one for thank you's and honestly since she had lost a child didn't feel she deserved it. Koray rubbed against her leg to urge her on. Looking to Lycander she sighed gently and then shook her tray gently with a merry expression coming back to her face. They owner had stepped out after the teary woman had left back to the kitchen letting the Ars Lilium know that her and her friends meal where on the house.

Lycander nodded and made sure to note her words into the back of his mind for later. "I shall definitely have to start hunting around here for ingredients then. Or maybe I'll just come and see if I can find you and Koray." He grinned at them both. "Always nice to find familiar faces while out traveling or exploring." He may not do much traveling, but exploring every now and then did pass the time. When he wasn't hanging with friends or visiting Moonfall that is. "Definitely a splendid surprise running into the two of you." He agreed, brushing a few strands of crimson hair out of his face and rocking back on his heels. He caught the scent of something nice, not quite sure if it was just in the air or coming from Shea. It was a relaxing scent and Lycander found he quite enjoyed it.
He watched the familiar with growing appreciation. They really were interesting things. And the companionship he could see between familiar and witch was appealing. Yet, as he'd admitted, he didn't know enough about them and didn't want to jump in and make it his goal to become an Ars Lilium without understanding it better. And he still wished to meet a Reaper as well, to hear what they had to say. "I hope so. But won't know until I either become one or the other. Or I get a chance to speak with someone, like yourselves, that is of that classification." Lycander wasn't even put out when Koray didn't tell him anything and instead suggested eating first. He was fine with that. In fact, he really wouldn't be too upset if he never actually learned anything from the familiar. They were nice company, in his opinion. "After food then." He smiled at the familiar before looking back up at Shea.
"Not really. I just find that I do enjoy how quiet it can be around the Academy verses being back in Moonfall. Honestly though, I don't really know why I haven't moved back to Moonfall. Or somewhere else for that matter. I do enjoy seeing the young witchlings and helping them out if I can. Encouraging them in their work." He shrugged a little. "Other then that, I just enjoy living there, I guess." Which was true. He did enjoy living there. "Oh, I remember being told that now. Perhaps I'll have to visit Lumena soon then. To see it and perhaps find a Reaper I can speak with. Have you personally be called on by the Royals?" His emerald eyes were bright with curiosity on this subject. "I've never seen any of them. I don't think, at least. Heard stories or rumors about them." Lycander waved her last comment away. "Nonsense! It's just as exciting as Moonfall in it's own way."
Traveling really was starting to sound even more appealing to the redhead as Shea spoke. "So it sounds like it! And keeping busy is nice most of the time. Though having quiet time is great too. Although, can't say I enjoy the quiet quite as much. Would rather be out in the crowd. Or exploring, wasting my time on anything." His grin turned a little sly at her last trail of thought. "Why I do, in fact, enjoy surprises quite a bit." Lycander nodded understanding of what she meant. He could see how it might not be quite so lonely with just your familiar. There was a special bond there after all.
He followed behind the pair, making sure they got their food before he grabbed a tray himself. The smells were wonderful in here and he felt his stomach grumble a little in agreement. A few different kinds of sushi went on to the plate he'd placed on his tray. "I hope it's as good as it smells. I don't doubt that it is. At least I don't remember ever not liking the sushi here. Hope you two like it as well!" Giving Shea a warm smile when he saw her glance over, Lycander had planned on paying for the two, but was pleasantly surprised to see the owner come out and tell her that their meals were on the house. It made him glad to see folks in this town treat her so kindly. He'd not missed the look in her eyes before, one that seemed to say she didn't feel like she deserved. Lycander disagreed. She was wonderful and did her best! He smiled at the owner before glancing at Shea and Koray, nodding them ahead of him again. "How about the table just under the window? Or perhaps out on the patio? Whichever appeals to the two of you."

Shea listened with minimal interruption as Lycander spoke, nodding on occasion. Her blue orbs laughed softly and she nodded as he questioned if the Royals had called on her before. "Only once, to make a perfume ..." She would tell him that though she had done a few more things for them, swaying slightly to fan out the scent again before they were approached by the man. Her gaze cast downwards feeling the rush of failure and not really wanting to take the food for free but she does to please them. The Ars woman was thankful when Lycander spoke up suggesting places for them to sit and eat. Koray hissed in a soft warning as a child nearby looked to his marble colored tail he could tell the child wanted to pet him or more over pull his tail. "The patio would be lovely.. if your alright with that. " Shea said after giving the child an apologetic smile, Koray would fare better outside. Heading that way she looked over her tray still a bit bummed out for the moment hopefully the food and more conversation would liven her up again.
Koray slowly moved behind him licking his whiskers as he waited for them to take a seat on the patio furniture. Shea moving them to a table under a tree for some shade. "I hope this table is alright?" Her tone was soft and sweet still but the hint of sadness was there. Gently finding her seat she started to pull off Koray's plate hoping her new acquaintance wouldn't mind if the familiar ate on the table with some witches were strange about that. But being and Ars, Shea did not see Koray as a pet that would have to eat separate but a friend that would dine with her. A soft summer wind kicked up sending her curls forward in a fluttering manner before they settled back down around her face. Smiling she picked up her untensiles to eat looking up to Lycander. "You said you wanted to know more about being an Ars..? Perhaps I can answer any questions you might have..I'm sure Koray will pipe in if he feels I'm not doing a proper job of explaining." Shea giggled and looked to the familiar in question. Koray oblivious to the word as he dug into a spicey tuna roll. .

The redhead chuckled slightly. "A perfume, you say? I bet it smelled amazing and was a rare thing to possess." He grinned at the Ars Lilium cheerfully, moving along with his tray of food to approach Shea and her familiar. Lycander merely quirked an eyebrow when Koray hissed, not having caught what was the cause, before glancing back up at Shea. "If that is what the lady and her feline so desire, then the patio is perfectly fine with me!" He nodded in the direction of the patio for emphasis and gave her that easy smile. Really, he didn't have any preference for where they sat. Simply being in the pairs company was good enough for him.
Lycander followed after, glancing at the child Shea gave an apologetic look to. Was that what Koray had been hissing at? How amusing. Not that he would say this out loud and offend the familiar.
"This table is fabulous." He assured the Ars Lilium, setting his tray down but waiting until Shea had seated herself before sitting himself. The redhead didn't even bat an eyelash at having Koray eat on the table. In fact, he probably would have had more of a reaction had the familiar been eating on the floor. He even offered the familiar a smile before taking a small bite of his food.
Emerald eyes glanced up and looked between the two. "Yes. Yes I do have a few questions. Or more like I just wish to get to know a little more about what is expected of an Ars Lilium." Lycander tapped his fingers against the tabletop, thinking of any questions. "How much different is it from being a witch?" He finally asked. And then, even more curiously, "Did you have any influence on the form Koray took? Or is it just something that happens? That a familiar takes on whatever animal it sees fit?" He gave them both an apologetic and sheepish look. "Forgive me if I'm not clear in any of my questions. And don't feel that you have to answer if you don't want to!" The witch took another small bite while giving Shea a chance to gather her thoughts and answer, if she so chose.
