 How long had it been? A few hours, maybe more than that... Either way, time was almost impossible to tell in this state. Lying in the center of an open meadow was a young filly. Residing on her side, legs curled, and extended in random directions, blonde mane and tail fluttering softly with the few stray winds that managed to maneuver through the thick wildgrasses. This was Ferra's favorite place... so vast and free... and full of continual life and surprises. Bright blue eyes peeled open at the sound of something rustling nearby her head, making the black cupped ears swivel for a better listen, a grin curving as the creak of a cricket sounded. Such funny little bugs those were. Tipping her head back to take a gander at the back clad insect, the filly gave a soft snort of air towards it, making the thing flutter its wings, creak, and hop elsewhere. An amused snort came from her before she slowly rolled into her belly, and gazed once more around her.
She'd wandered off from her siblings, after playing a game of tag, hide and go seek, and a few races in between. By now, they were probably back in the safety of their herd... but Ferra wanted to stay out a bit longer... see if there was anything interesting to do around. Watching a flock of chickadee's flutter overhead, the foal eased onto her dark hooves, and hoisted herself off, shaking any particles still clinging to her body. Well... so far there wasn't really anything of interest in sight.. but perhaps on the outskirts of this never ending plains there would hold some sort of entertainment. Ears swiveling like radars, vibrant eyes intently following after, Ferra set course for the surrounding tree's ahead of her.

Kanic had spent most of the morning playing with his siblings and chasing his "eye" around. He was enjoying the day with the family up in the mountains until it started to rain. Kanic hated the rain, or any type of water at all, se he usually would seek shelter in a cave in the mountains. Thankfully today's rain passed quickly and Kanic was able to come back out. When he peered out, his siblings had run off to play in another area of the mountains. He felt all alone.
After a few moments, Kanic decided that he would take this opportunity to get out a bit. He'd never been beyond the mountain's base, so he decided today would be the day. Kanic lept off of a ledge and started gliding down towards the meadow. As he got closer to the ground, he noticed another foal. He decided he would try and startle her.
Kanic planned his landing for right behind her as quietly as possible. His plan was to try and startle her, and he hoped it would work. As he landed, he allowed his hooves to make a "thud" sound.
"HI!" he said rather loudly. "Who are you?"

On her way to the forest, which never failed to provide entertainment, the filly could feel a slight disturbance in the air, causing her ears to swivel, and her trot slow slightly. Probably just a bird, or a flock... giving not much care to it, she continued on.
Just as she was growing closer to the end of the meadow though, she heard that piercing through the air much more present... and closer, causing her to stop all movement completely. Someone else was here. Her assumption was proven as her head turned from the sound of wings fluttering, and the stomp that followed after, head turning around to spy a little colt behind her. Blinking, not really phased at all by his attempt to frighten her, the female gave a small smirk in response, quite amused in fact.
"Hey." she replied back, giving a little flick of her tail to his face in a gesture of play. It wasn't often she'd meet other's her own age outside of her family. With his posed question, she replied just as easily, "Ferra." Turning around, she got a better look at him, and tipped her head slightly, "You're not gonna scare me by usin` those." she gestured to his wings with a grin, which had given him away from the start.

Kanic could tell by the look on her face that he wasn't as successful as he wanted to be in spooking her, although he gave it a good try. He played it off though as he wasn't.
Kanic went top reply, just as he was swooshed in the face with her tail. "Me, tryin to scare you.... nah!" He laughed. Just then, Kanic's "eye" darted out to take a look at the other foal. It gave a few quick swoops around her, and the floated and stared for a bit. "So what are you doin out here Ferra?" Kanic finally asked.
Secretly Kanic was pondering how he could "repay" the tail-in-the-face gesture to the newly met friend.

Smirking as the other foal tried to cover his tracks, the filly gave a soft nicker, and shake of her head. But her attention was drawn to the strange flying object, which seemed to be some sort of eyeball surrounded in black, with... wings? Quite perplexed by the strange thing, Ferra couldn't help but follow it's path around, hardly even glancing to the colt before her. "Who's this lil guy?" she asks with a giggle, tail flicking a few times as the winged flying companion darted about.
Finally sparing a look to Kanic, she grins, "lookin' for somethin' to do." she responds, tipping her head inquisitively at him, "What's your name, hm?"

Kanic noticed the snicker, and in encouraged him even more to "repay" that tail swish. He thought a minute or two before answering her questions.
"Thats my 'eye'," Kanic replied. "He don't have a name, but he's been around me since I can remember. My sis and bro have one. Mom gave them to us." The "eye" returned to Kanic's side. He gave the "eye" and nudge, hoping it would go back and distract Ferra a bit more.
"I'm Kanic Ash, everyone calls me Kanic though," he replied. "So whatcha lookin to do?"
