It had been a while since Piper had a sleepover. Not only were her parents always hesitant to let her wander off into the world alone after what had happened, but it seemed all her friends were slowly outgrowing her. They left for college, got jobs, or anything else that simply meant they didn't have time for blanket forts and tree houses.
Piper tried not to ever let it get her down, but even the little bubble of energy could feel lonely. Lucky for her, though, she had met Tabitha!
She was a comical sight as she trudged down the sidewalk with a bag almost bigger than she was, probably stuffed with more candy and coloring books than actual sleepover necessities. In one hand she had a twizzler and in the other her cellphone, bedazzled and painted to the point that she had probably voided her warranty. She stuck the twizzler in her mouth and brought her phone up, flipped it open, and began to text Tabitha:
I'm on your block!
Though she kept on walking, she slowed down to a pace that was almost a crawl for the half a minute it took her to type. Then she flipped the phone closed, grabbed her candy from between her lips, and started walking again like she had never found it difficult to multitask.
She was the bottom of Tabitha's stairs in seconds and made happy, leaping steps up until she could knock on the door enthusiastically.

"How we all enjoy letting loose with a little la-da-da-dum-dummm~." Tabitha sang along with the movie playing in the background as she went about the final touches of cleaning her room and preparing it for the Sleepover of Awesome, though her voice was slightly off key as she sang. "While we're emptying the vacuum um~." She didn't realize that wasn't quite how that line went. It sounded like it, okay? Don't judge her. Unfortunately Tabitha didn't actually have a vacuum on her to empty, she wasn't even sweeping she was just putting laundry and knickknacks away into their proper places. Even Ophelia was swept up off the floor in her excitement and put on Tabitha's bed whether she liked it or not. The poor guardian cat had to suffer through Tabitha's not-so-great singing. At some point she had fled, wandering off to another part of the house while leaving her little Andromeda to get ready for her friend to come over.
Eventually Tabitha deemed her room fit for sleepover shenanigans, followed by the living room, and finally the kitchen. The kitchen was the last but possibly most important step. They needed food! Lots and lots of food. And snacks. Like popcorn, and her grandmother had ordered pizzas for them. Yes. Pizzas plural. Best. Grandmother. Ever. She had been showing her with affection and praise when her phone went off, squealing with delight and releasing the old woman from the hug so she could check the new text from Piper. "She's almost here!" Tabitha cheered, giving her grandmother one more tight hug and kiss on the temple before she ran off to wait by the door.
She may have flailed a bit as she ran.
Thankfully it wasn't long before there came a knock at her door and the door was quickly unlocked and opened by a very excited Tabitha. "PIPEREEEEEEEEEEEEE!" She squealed, throwing her arms around her friend in a tight hug. Boy it was a good thing this really was Piper or this would be very awkward considering she hadn't actually checked who was knocking at their door. "Hi! Hi! You're here! Hi! Ohhhhh this is so exciting!"

Piper's face split into a bright grin as the door flung open and Tabitha wasted no time in trying to squeeze her to death. Despite the fact that she had an enormously overstuffed bag slung from one shoulder, she clung back just as tightly to her friend and swung the pair of them in a small, bouncing circle.
"Tabitha!" She squeaked out the girls name through a fit of giggles, wobbly dangerously in the twirling circle as her bag threw her off balance. As she almost tripped and took the girl down with her, reality came crashing down and she stopped their silly dance with a nervous laugh. She didn't really want to face plant off of the steps.
"Can I set this down somewhere? It's kind of heavy." She let one arm fall from around her friend and tugged at the strap of her bag instead, barely budging the taught cloth. How tiny Piper had managed to walk all the way across town with it was baffling.

"Eeeeeeep~!" Tabitha squeaked out as Piper came at her for a huge hug, laughing and throwing her arms around her friend as much as she could with the giant bag in the way. Whoa! Did Piper have a tumor growing or something?! What was all this? She held tightly to the blue-haired girl as they wobbled and stumbled, trying desperately to keep them on her feet. Come on, senshi training! Don't fail her now! Thankfully she managed not to completely fall on her butt, though she got worried when Piper almost fell because of that beautiful thing called momentum and gravity.
With greetings over lest they fall to the ground Tabitha laughed and put her hands on her hips. "Psh! No! Of course not~." She rolled her eyes little How silly! Of course there was a place to put it down! Tabitha held out her hands, grinning again and bouncing on her toes. "We can put it in my room. I'll even carry it for you! Oh! Are you hungry? My grandma ordered pizza, and there's snacks, and drinks, and movies, and stuff." Very specific, yes. Tabitha's all about that.
Honestly, Tabitha wasn't giving Piper an option. She was taking the bag be it by friendly force or willingly being handed it. She would get the bag one way or another! And once she did she'd extend an arm out invitingly, gesturing further into the house. "Make yourself at home~!" Ooooh! This was going to be so much fun!

For once in her life, sarcasm didn't go completely over Piper's head. Maybe it was just that Tabitha was simply too nice to have actually meant it, or maybe Tabitha wasn't very good at it in the face of so much excitement, but Piper laughed nervously at the small joke. She was glad, because she certainly didn't want to lug this thing around all night!
"Awesome. Yes to everything!" She gripped her hands around the bag strap and half pulled it over her head, half shrugged her body out of it until it made a 'thud' on the ground. She held out the now limp strap to Tabitha with an apologetic, but amused grin. Okay, so maybe she had over done it just a little.
She swept past her friend and into the house without having to be asked again, targeting the pizza just as well as she did that ghost in the school basement. It was like a sixth sense. She flipped open the top of one of the boxes and pulled out one of the largest slices. No plate, no napkin, just held in her hands.
"You wouldn't believe how tiring that walk was with all that stuff, I'm starving just from wasting all that energy." She blew out a deep, dramatic breath and bugged her eyes out a little just to show how serious she was about her long, hard journey. Then she was right back to devouring her slice of pizza, glancing at Tabitha between starved bites.
"What movies did you get?" she half mumbled, half spluttered around a mouthful of pizza.
