This formatting is optional and intended to save time putting together. Feel free to cut, alter, paste, or edit as needed. 3nodding These are the basic stats needed to play effectively. Reference the core rules for how to add this up. If anyone has any questions feel free to ask. As far as feats, skills, and other more optional stuff, just write it in anywhere thereafter. Keep in mind you will need languages to talk to people/things, and listing what feats you have makes you capable of performing those feats. Not listing a skill/feat means your character may not be capable of them, so be sure to list everything. heart

*Save for Character*

Question- We using the dice tool here to Verify the results for rolling character? Or will this be Faith-based (pun not intended but appreciated)?

Well as long as your whole character sheet doesn't boast +3 +4 modifiers across the board, it shoudn't be too much to question. Using the dice here is an option if no one has dice, but D-6s are pretty easy to come by.

I'm also fine with using the point buy system for developing a balanced sheet. I'm not sure if a point buy system is included in any of the links yet though.

Another Question: Limits on Characters? I've been coming up with ideas, and want to make sure I'm not stepping on any guidelines.

As far as limits, just try to stick with the core stuff posted in the links I copied from Southern-cross. 3nodding That way everyone has the same reference material, and I don't have any of my books on me. If you have something you'd like to do or use, like say certain feats, classes, etc. I'd say as long as you can post source info that supports it, it's probably fine. It will be a casual RP, and I will try to be as consistent as possible with it. Most people who've replied to this in general seem to be pretty savy with their knowledge of the rules in general.

Anything in particular you might have had in mind? If it's something simple, it can probably be worked with regardless. The intent is solely to avoid things that will provide any unfair advantages.

So, if we can show you a Wizard's 3.5 class that is online... You may think it over?

Also, I know of a location online that has all the feats of 3.5.... I don't think it is exactly legal though... Seeing as wizards of the cost are telling other sites of the same, to close down or face a lawsuit.

http://dnd.savannahsoft.eu/list_feats.html

For better or for worse... there it is. I would still says check with Sailor about the feats you are going to use...

Mostly just so I can understand the mechanics of what your characters can do. That way I don't get confused or blind-sided, and the same goes for anyone else. Mind you, this is intended for fun. If it was a group sit down thing, I'd be a little more into rule rehersal and such, but I'd be happy to get to the point where people got characters and such so we can get the ball rollin'.

In a nutshel, 2nd level characters, using feats, traits, classes of preference, etc. (just know how to explain what you're doing and have a reference of some kind that backs it up) Any races allowed. Just be sure to apply any level modifiers with creating your character. Like say a half-celestial is +4, that means you'd effectively be level 0 until you got to level 5, at which point (as you should be playing into getting there) you gain your first class level, and so forth.

But as long as you're using good source material, you shouldn't steer in the wrong direction much.

Nothing too bizaare. I told my buddies that a Christian group is doing a campaign, and we joked about messing with the DM by creating a Chaotic Evil character.

Then we got a bizaare concept- A character from a race that is almost purely evil, who is genuinely good, mostly because he's almost never heard of it. Who is super excited whenever he learns that he doesn't have ton lie, cheat or steal to get something done. Like a kid whose just got an awesome new toy.

Now, this is only a concept. We need to make sure we are within boundries before we flesh it out.

There is premise - I actually had an Incubus Paladin, thanks to a spell from the Book of Exalted Deeds. If you have it, look up "Sanctify the Wicked" on page 106. I'd be happy to type up teh full length description for you, but the small of it is that you place the soul of an evil being in a flawless diamond worth at least 10,000 GP, and it reflects on past misdeeds for one year, after which the diamond is consumed and the creature returns as a sanctified creature.

Citation! Lol, you beat me to it. 3nodding But yes, the book of exalted deeds does cover all that kind of stuff, and wondrously so. There's a number of amazing feats for fighting evil in there too. Sanctified fist (great for monks) Nimbus, Holy radiance, etc. Good stuff.

My favorite is one I have to ask about... Vow of Poverty... not many dm's think it is a nice feat...

Are Psionics allowed or is it just the core?

I rather like the vow of poverty. Some people look straight towards the sacrifices you have to make to uphold it. But the benefits are astounding with other exalted feats. Goes great with a monk or cleric, and can be pretty useful with other classes. If I recall, you may burn XP in place of materials for casting costs. Some people think that's a bad way to go, but sometimes it's easier to fork over some XP and then get it back, as opposed to trying to acquire certain materials in the first place. I think it's weel designed. Again, the benefits are awesome, so there has to be some serious drawbacks on play.

Psionics... there's always a potential issue with that. I've never messed with it much, but I don't object to it. Just know what you're doing and at least post or link sources so I can understand how your abilities would impact the game. The mainstream experience I've had with psionics is that players that use them often dominate over everyone else playing. Real nasty stuff. Again, no objection though.

I know, main reason I like the feat... I like challenges that are rewarding in the same thought, and having that one... more than most of the other feats in the game... is just that. Eh... I will throw something together with in the next hour... I don't know if I will use that feat though... but I never know until I start building the character.

My friend Ryan gave me the book to look at it yesterday, before I read this. I'm intrigued, for sure.
