Eve walked ahead of her mother, who was taking a day off to spend time with her. The day was bright and Eve was looking forward to spending time with her mother. Herion flew above his little host, his eyes narrowed and looking around. He was acting like the protector that the little shadow thought he was. He was especially wary of the lions and some of the cheetahs. However Eve took off after seeing a sign about some desert lizards.
Herion flew after her with Ivy following them with the click of her low-heeled boots on the ground.

Howl didn't fancy going to the zoo as a teenager; there were too many girls who would see him, and that was just embarassing. So he had opted to go as a size he felt would be quite common there; and though he was still dressed as regally as he normally was, he felt he was being quite clever. No one would figure out that the little boy missing two front teeth was the great wizard Howl. No one. Unless they recognized Puff--but the wizard hadn't taken that into consideration.
His dragonlike shadow was perfectly recognizable. The wizard hadn't even attempted to disguise the shadow, seeing as he didn't believe he'd meet anyone who'd be able to recognize him. Unfortunately, Puff had other ideas. He had recognized someone--and was running up to Eve and Herion. "Pu, pu pu!" the shadow cried.
Howl groaned, and made his way towards them. "Sorry," he started awkwardly.

Eve glanced at Howl after hearing Puff, the ragdoll smirked at how her teacher looked. Still, Herion regarded Howl with the idea that he may be a threat to Eve. And no one hurt his host. He glanced towards Eve and frowned as she walked over to Howl, waving at puff with a smile.
"Hello, Howl. Why the little kid getup?"
Ivy snickered as she noticed Howl was a child instead of a teenager. The dark elf wondered why he had chosen the form of a child. "Howl, is that you?"

"Pu pu!" Puff called, waving at Herion. "Pu pu!" The dragonic shadow was excited to see his friend. He pointed to his host and made a sound that suspiciously sounded like laughter. Wasn't his host cute? Didn't he look funny, when Puff was almost as big as Howl?
"I thought it would be a good disguise," the wizard said, studying Eve with a frown. "How'd you know it was me? Did Puff give it away?" He sent a glare that resembled a pout more at the shadow in question. "He's always giving me away... Anyway, I didn't think it would be a good idea to bring Puff here in my teenage form. There's too many girls who might recognize me. And if they recognized me, they might chase me with rolling pins and other things. This way, I'm cute enough to get away with just about anything." He beamed at her, revealing his two missing front teeth.
"I'm not Howl," he said, glancing at Ivy and sticking his tongue out at her. "Oh fine. Hi Aunt Ivy. Can I tag along with you?"

Herion shyly waved, still nervous about making friends. He flew next to Eve and chuckled, Howl was cute. The shadow nodded and landed, not feeling like flying at the moment.
Eve laughed softly, "I sensed you. Even in a child form, you still have magic all around you." She raised an eyebrow at him, "You being a player lately, Howl? You know that is not wise. Even being cute may not stop you from getting hit by a rolling pin."
The toddler glanced at her mother as the woman was never one to think of cuteness as a reason to not scold. She looked back at Howl and smirked as her mother frowned. "Howl, I'm not fond of lying and no matter what form you're in, you're still Howl."
She nodded in answer to his question before walking ahead of the toddlers in the direction of the exhibit Eve was wanting to see. "Cute or not, you hurt Eve, it'll take more than Faust to keep me calm."

"Nah, not a player," Howl corrected Eve with a smile. No, he'd been careful to keep his focus on Sophie. He loved Sophie--at least he had loved her, and could remember loving her. Kali had been helping him. "But I go to school, and what would the girls think if they saw me at the zoo? It'd be embarrassing! Well done, though. Not many would have been able to recognize my magical signature. Sophie was the only one who could, not that long ago." He was proud of his apprentice. "Keep it quiet, though. I don't want anyone else knowing."
"I'm not lying," Howl assured her with a smile. "In this form, I'm Twinkle. Not Howl." He paused and gave Ivy a frightened look, with big blue eyes. "Uncle Faust wouldn't let you hurt me," he informed her. "I'm his favorite nephew. And I'd never hurt Eve, anyway."

Eve smiled, "At least you're attending school. How are your grades?" Eve didn't go to daycare anymore for a reason. Ivy kept her face composed. Her daughter was very dear to her and only very few were trusted with the girl's care. Though the elf smiled at Howl's praise at her daughter.
Eve beamed though she had been getting better at sensing the magic of others. Her mother's very little magic seemed like the metal of a sword or copper to the toddler. Howl's magic though reminded her of amber flame. She chuckled shyly, "Don't worry about it."
Ivy merely smiled, but the warmth left her eyes, showing that her words were more of a promise than a threat. "Depends on how fast Faust is."
"Anyway, my little girl isn't defenseless as it is. Just be careful, Twinkle."

"Oh, pretty good. Mr. Martin, he's the principal, would never let me fail. Honestly I think he's a bit too eager to keep me there. Intentionally failing classes isn't very fun when you have a principal who'll harass you until you change it back. He likes calling Dad and asking what's going on with me." He gave a roll of his eyes. He was very fond of Nathan Martin in reality--if the man wasn't a principal, he thought they would be friends.
He paused, glancing from Ivy to Eve and giving a shiver. "Your mom seems meaner than ever," he whispered. While he had never quite figured on Ivy liking him, she had never threatened him before this. "Did something happen? Is she mad at me for something I did? I swear I didn't do--is it the spell I taught you last time?"
He flashed a glare at Ivy. "I told you. Eve's my apprentice. I would never hurt her." She was like a younger sister to him.

Eve laughed softly at how his principal acted. "You're a good guy, Howl. And you are smart, so of course he wouldn't let you fail." The smile from the laugh died at the mention of Howl's father. Uncle Vate was being a bit mean about how he was treating Howl. If you were dying, shouldn't you want your loved ones with you?
Eve sighed at Howl's words about her mother, "I'm not going to daycare anymore. Mommy's on edge because something happened at daycare." Someone had given Eve a cup of embalming fluid instead of juice at snack time and she almost died from it.
Ivy glanced at him, " Someone tried to poison her and almost killed her." The elf was blunt as usual, but Eve frowned as she was hoping to not make Howl worry about her. "It's not you, Howl, that she's mad at." Eve shook her head, "It isn't that spell either. That spell comes in handy sometimes."
Ivy's hardened face softened for a moment after hearing Howl's words. "I know that. But I'm worried someone might try to kill Eve again." The dark elf was grateful to Howl for being Eve's friends and one of her closest companions. Then she turned and walked ahead, keeping an eye on Eve while giving the girl some space.
