Sciuri "Aylin," Sciuri whispered as soon as the family seemed to have fallen asleep. She was speaking as softly as she possibly could to avoid waking anyone else in the family. "Get up, it's time to go." Tonight was the night she was supposed to meet up with Ruzanski. It had been four days since she first met him, and so that made it the day they had agreed to meet each other again. Sciuri had spent most of the day going over her route in her head to make sure she went to the right place. If she went to the wrong place it would be pretty bad. Not only would she not get to see Ruzanski again, but she'd look stupid in front of Aylin. She hoped Ruzanski wouldn't mind that she had brought her sister without warning him, but she had no way to warn him and hadn't wanted to wait until after tonight just so she could. She wanted Aylin to meet him and share her secret. Aylin Go? Her head slowly shifted at the word and she let out a yawn. Aylin had always drifted off fast, but it never took much to wake her up. Cracking open a golden eye, the pale cub yawned again and got to her paws, careful not to step on anyone else. Go? Where were they going again? She looked mildly confused as she somehow managed to make her way out of the den entrance. They couldn't talk inside, everyone would wake up and then they'd be in trouble. So, she sat her rump down a bit outside and stretched out her muscles before yawning once more, eyes watering from how hard it was. She had actually played with her siblings today, which meant she was really worn out and tired. Naturally she wated to sleep, but it seemed her sister had other plans for the night. "Where are we going?" she asked, voice thick from sleep. So she wasn't a night person. Who would be if they had just fallen asleep and gotten woken up.

Sciuri Aylin's slowness frustrated Sciuri, made her practically dance with impatience, but she knew better than to try to hurry her sister. So she just had to wait while Aylin woke up and try not to let her frustration become too apparent. It was nearly too much, though, when Aylin asked where they were going. Had she forgotten? "A few days ago I told you about a boy I met at night. If you want to meet him, we need to leave now," Sciuri whispered, filling her sister in without making it sound like it was her sister's fault for not immediately knowing what they were doing. She'd learned to do that at an early age. Sometimes Aylin forgot things like this because they weren't as important to her as other things. Her priorities were different, and sometimes a little odd. "If you don't want to, could you at least not tell Mom and Dad where I went if they wake up and wonder?" Aylin "Oh! Right...Sorry, slipped my mind.. 'm still sleepy..." She gave her sister a sheepish, apologetic smile before moving over and curling up against her for a moment. Of course Aylin remembered the story of the boy she had met and her late night sneak aways. She just had forgotten that she was going to meet him. Sciuri hadn't brought it up since then, so of course she would let it slip. Stretching again, she grunted and then sighed when her limbs finally popped. With wide eyes, she turned toward sher sister and danced around her a bit. "Lead the way! And don't worry... I won't tell mom and dad anything, even if I was staing here with them." Everyone had secrets, everyone confided in different people. She was just really glad her sister trusted her enought with this big of a secret. At the same time, Iuri should know she wasn't a blabber mouth and often times went hours upon hours without talking or even looking at someone else. So adding a secret to her behaviour would hardly alter it.

Sciuri "It's all right," Sciuri assured her sister, eager to be on her way and reluctant to spend any more time discussing her sister's sleepiness or forgetfulness. "It happens." She set off at as quick of a slink as she could manage without making too much noise. For the moment it was more important to get away from the den without detection than to make haste. It was hard to make herself slow down and be mindful of the trail she and Aylin might leave, but with effort she managed it. It wouldn't do to be caught and dragged back to the den for a stern talking to. "This way," she whispered, and then reminded her sister unnecessarily, "We have to be quiet." Iuri thought that it would be far enough once they were out of sight of the den, and then they could start trotting, which would cover more ground, faster. It wasn't all that far away where she had met Ru, but Iuri could feel every moment of delay as if it was disastrous. She didn't want anything to go wrong, or for Ru to somehow reach the conclusion she had decided against coming out to meet him, though he had seemed like the kind of boy who would have gone in search of her if she didn't show up. It wouldn't have been difficult for him to find her family's den and her. After all, there were a lot of them living there. Aylin Aylin followed her sister like a zombie. She was quiet of course, because she did understand the implications of what would happen if they got caught. Things wouldn't go well at all if were caught. So, she would stay quiet until she was told. However, that didn't mean that she would be boring. She got up a head to her sister and rubbed up against her in a friendly mannor before prancing around. Now that she was waking up, she was in one of her rare, playful moods. It took a lot to not wander off and go exploring in this new area. Somehow, though, she managed to stay right behind her sister.

Sciuri Sciuri could have done with less playfulness from her sister. It made her nervous to be bumped in the dark from behind when she was trying to make a sneaky getaway from the den. The first time Aylin did it, Iuri nearly jumped out of her fur, and only bit back sharp, scolding words by physically biting her tongue. It wouldn't do any good to be angry at Aylin, and she didn't want to fight. Not that Aylin tended to fight, but still. "Okay, I think we're far enough away; we can talk now," Sciuri said after looking over her shoulder and determining that they were definitely out of sight of the den. "There's still a bit to go before we get to where he and I were supposed to meet up, but at least we don't have to sneak there, right?" She grinned and hoped Ru didn't mind that she had brought her sister without warning him. It wasn't as though she'd had any way to give him warning, after all. Well, he seemed like the kind of guy who could take a surprise without getting weird about it, and Aylin wouldn't be a bad surprise. Aylin Aylin nodded a little when her sister said they could talk. She sneezed right then, suddenly and startled herself even more. Flicking her tail at that, her ears flattened before looking around, making sure no one heard them. Then again, it was really dark and really quiet outside, so it didn't sound like anyone was around here. "Sorry about that," she said, rubbing her nose before starting to follow her again. Aylin sniffed a little and then looked about, arching a brow before growing tired of being so quiet again. Sometimes, silence was wonderful for her, most of the time, actually. But with how playful she was feeling, Aylin wanted to talk. "So... tell me about him again? I think... you said something like his name was Ru? But I don't... remember...."

Sciuri Sciuri was now watching their surroundings carefully so that she could find the exact spot where they had agreed to meet. The world was a big place, to hear Aunt Gliri's stories, and it wouldn't do to show up in the wrong place and miss him, which was one of her concerns, as was showing up at the wrong time, but now it seemed there wasn't much danger of that. She was certain they'd be there with even a little time to spare. She wondered if he would be waiting, or if he would be late. "Well, I think he's probably very brave. I mean, he goes out by himself at night a lot, and he goes very far from where his family lives. We're about an hour away from him, he says." Sciuri paused to hop onto the raised and gnarled roots of a tree in an attempt to get a better view of the surrounding area. They weren't quite there, but from her elevated vantage point she could see their meeting place. She had hoped that she'd be able to see Ruzanski, though. Unfortunately, he was either being far more stealthy or else she just wasn't looking in the right place. Or perhaps he wasn't here yet. "If you come up here and look that way, you can see the pile of rocks where we're supposed to meet," she said, and then waited for her sister to join her before continuing to describe the boy they were going to see. "His name's Ruzanski. But he said I could call him Ru if that was easier. I like Ruzanski, but it is a pretty long name. He's really good at pretend. I bet with three of us we could have the best adventures ever." Aylin It took her a minute to get up there on the roots with her sister. Aylin wasn't the most graceful of cubs. So, after a few failed attempts, she finally got her rump up there and then peered out where her sister told her too. Of course she was listening to Sciuri's stories of him still. It was nice to hear different stories from different people. "I wouldn't mind having adventures!" It was fun having something to look forward to." After some looking, she found the rocks and grinned a little. "I see the spot! But I don't see anyone down there. Maybe we're here early?"

Sciuri "Maybe," Sciuri allowed. "I did kind of rush to get here, and it's not as if it's easy to tell exact times at night. Let's go over there and wait for him." She hopped down from the roots, stumbling a bit on the landing, and set off in the direction of their meeting place. It was hard to keep herself from running, but she already knew he wasn't there yet, so there was no point in hurrying. Or so she told herself. When they reached the rocks Sciuri began to look around, but not for Ru. Maybe they could find someplace to hide there and really surprise Ru. That was her thought, anyway, and she shared it with Aylin to enlist her aid in finding a hiding place. "Let's hide somewhere and then jump out and surprise him when he comes," she suggested. "So he'll know not to be late next time." Aylin Aylin had followed her at a slower pace, since she fell off the roots and landed with a light thud. Shaking herself off, she eventually caught up enough to hear what her sister was saying to her. Now, pranks were not above this female. She loved playing harmless pranks that would help prove points, too. So naturally, Aylin agree. "OK!" Golden eyes scaned the rocks, looking for any cracks that were big enough for them to hide into. After she moved a few around she saw a rock that would be big enough for both of them to hid behind. "Look over here, Iuri. We could hide behind here... and put some of the smaller rocks around us.. and still spring out to surprise him!"

Sciuri Sciuri sat back on her haunches and raised her forequarters in the air to look over her sister's shoulder at their proposed hiding place. It looked good to her, and she said so. "So, let's start gathering some smaller rocks," she said. As they gathered the rocks she kept her ears open, listening for the sound of someone approaching, but she didn't hear anyone. Not that she'd really heard him the last time, either, but now she knew he was supposed to be coming, so he wouldn't be able to sneak up on her quite so easily. "I do wish I knew which way he'd be coming from," she said to Aylin. "It would make it easier to figure out which direction to watch." Aylin She helped her sister gather the rocks up and eventually they got behind the rock and started stacking the rocks so their sides wouldn't be seen from this direction. Now all they had to worry about was her rump being seen. She was pale, really pale compared to her sister. She would be spotted easily against the night sky. "It would make it easier, but sometimes the easiest isn't the best, hm?" Dad told her that sometimes.

Sciuri Sciuri made a gurgling noise in her throat which was clearly not any sort of agreement with Aylin's quotation. She supposed that might be true, but that didn't stop her from wanting things to be easy. There were so many things that could go wrong about tonight, and she didn't want any of them to happen. The worst thing, of course, would be for someone to get hurt, and the next worse thing would be for someone to get lost. Or maybe the two should be switched. If someone got hurt, at least they'd know where they were to bring help. "Your bum is ridiculously bright," she pointed out to Aylin, giving the body part under discussion a light swat. "He's going to see that right away and say, 'Whose white butt is that? And then he'll probably eat your tail." That wasn't very likely. Not the tail eating, anyway, but Sciuri was only teasing anyway. She didn't think Aylin would take her seriously. Though neither of them knew Ru well, and there was the possibility the green-eyed boy might actually do something like that. Sciuri highly doubted it though. Gnawing on someone's sister wasn't usually an effective way to make a good impression. Unless he didn't care about making impressions. Sciuri shook her head sharply. She was worrying about really stupid things now. Aylin Aylin could only let out a giggle as Iuri teased her. It was fine with her. It made the usually spacy girl feel like part of the family, to be teased like this. "Well... Unless my fur magically goes dark, he might see my bum! But, I do kinda blend in with the rocks?" It wasn't too far from the truth. The rocks were pale, too. "So maybe he'd think I was just a rock if I stay really still."

Sciuri "Oh, sure," Sciuri said, grinning with her sharp teeth. "A furry rock. With a tail attached. Or is that a furry snake?" She laughed, though the sound faded when she remembered that she and Aylin were supposed to be in hiding and that laughter would certainly give away their location. In order to make sure that didn't happen she peered out of their hiding place, checking to see if anyone was around to hear her. There was no one there and the wind carried no scent on it at all. At least, it didn't carry the scent of any lions. Mostly it smelled of grass and rocks. Nothing to indicate that Ru was anywhere nearby. She swallowed and turned her attention back to her sister. "Any idea what kind of games you might want to play when he gets here?" she asked. Aylin Laughing at the comment, she shrugged and grinned right back. "I don't know. Maybe he wouldn't see the fur if he's from far away." Aylin was just trying to keep the conversation going. Her own laughter died when her sister's did and the pale lioness enjoyed the quiet. But she also enjoyed Iuri's question. She had been thinking about that a few moments ago. "Tag, first of all. Then we should let him pick, then you. Or you then him. Or tag can go last..." Tag was one of her favorite games. Because it kept her interest unlike hide and seek. She usually fell asleep during hide and seek so she'd slowly been avoiding her siblings when they decided to play that game.

Sciuri "Tag is good," Sciuri agreed. "I bet he'll win all the time though. He's bigger than we are, and he's more used to running." Iuri didn't think she'd mind that though. It would be nice just to play. Herself, she liked to play pretend, but games of pretend could last for a very long time, so it would be better to save them for last. They could always be continued at a later date, after all. "Let him pick next, I guess. Even though he is late at this point." She couldn't quite keep her anxiety from showing in her tone as she spoke. What was keeping him? "I want to play pretend, so that should probably go last." "And, of course I'll have to introduce the two of you. I hope you like him. I mean, I think I like him, but maybe I don't really, and only think I do because I don't dislike him. You know?" Aylin Nodding, Aylin had already figured he'd win in the game of tag. Her sister had mentioned onc before he was a slight bit older than them. It didn't make her not want to play. In fact, it made her want to play even more. "I bet I'll win. "Oh, pretend is going to be so fun..." She laughed and then nodded a little. She could tell her sister was panicking about him being late. "Even if he doesn't show up tonight, it doesn't mean he won't show up tomorrow, right?" She could never see her sister in a liar's light. Liars were evil things that mother had taught her kids to avoid.

Sciuri "And maybe I'll grow wings," Sciuri replied with a soft snort of laughter. "If anyone wins, it'll probably be me." That was unlikely, actually. Sciuri was clever and quick-witted, but she wasn't very quick on her feet and she had a bad habit of guessing very wrongly which way people would go. She usually got tagged a lot. "He doesn't like girly stories," she said, mostly reminding herself of that. "So we shouldn't do something girly when we pretend." Sciuri made herself smile, even though a sort of sick feeling was growing in her stomach. How long had they been waiting for Ru to show up? Long enough that Aylin had noticed and said something. That...wasn't good. "I don't see how he'd know to do that," she said. "I mean, he could, on the off-chance that I came back, but...I don't know. Maybe he will." Aylin Wings? That would be fun to see. Oh, she'd be so jealous if her sister grew wings! She wanted to be free like the birds were, too! Then she realized her sister was joking and it made her feel a little sheepish. However, she wouldn't let her her sister see that. She kept quiet while her sister was talking, deeply lost in her own thoughts and smiling a little bit more. What if she had wings? She could fly away with the birds and see what this land really held for her. She could spot prides, make maps and help her parents out so they would be able to walk without worry about stumbling into a pride. What would she call herself? Flying lion was just not original enough. Maybe a flylion. Or a ghost. She could be considered a ghost, she was pale enough. "Are you sure he's coming?" She said after a considerable amount of silence on her part.

Sciuri Sciuri had failed to notice that Aylin's attention was elsewhere at first, but she noticed eventually. It was difficult not to when Aylin called attention to herself by asking if she was sure Ru was coming. That was just the problem: Sciuri wasn't sure that he was. She'd thought that she was earlier, but now she wasn't sure at all. It made her feel a little sick to her stomach with worry and guilt for dragging Aylin out of the den at night without telling anyone. But mostly she just didn't want to be wrong. She hated to be wrong. "I...don't know," she admitted in a small, miserable voice. "Maybe we should go home." She was torn between hoping that Aylin agreed to go home and hoping that she'd say they shouldn't so that she could have an excuse to wait longer. She didn't want to give up and go home. If it weren't for Aylin, she'd probably stay and wait all evening until the sun came up. Aylin It looked as if her sister was in some debate with herself. Watching the emotions flicker on Scuri's face, Aylin frowned a little and then smiled. Maybe if she went home and sister stayed, she'd feel better that way. They could always come and get her. Aylin would sleep near the entrance just incase that happened, so she wouldn't wake anyone else up. "What if I went home to get sleep... and you stayed here? Momma wouldn't mind if you slept in late." The end of her sentence drew on with a yawn and she rubbed her face with her paw. Aylin wasn't used to being up this late. "Mn... You can come wake me up when he comes. I'll sleep at the entrance..."

Sciuri Sciuri was startled by the solution Aylin came up with. It was perfectly in-keeping with what she'd been hoping would happen. And that way if Ru never came, Aylin wouldn't be there to witness it. And if he did, Sciuri would make certain that they didn't get their plans mixed up the next time. If there was a next time. She wasn't feeling very kindly toward him in this moment. "That could work. You think you can find your way back all right?" She was sleepy too, and she knew Aylin was. She didn't want her sister's weariness to get her lost or something. Aylin She nodded at that and smiled. "Of course I'll find the way back. It was a straight line, wasn't it?" Aylin asked, her voice heavy with sleep. Another yawn, a louder one this time, tongue curling. Oh, gods, this was tiring. Getting to her paws, she went over to her sister and licked her cheek softly before nuzzling her. "See you when I see you, Scirui.." She said as she wandered off towards home. She loved her sister, and didn't think her a liar. Their plans weren't set in stone because they couldn't always talk to each other and meet up. So she didn't think bad of her sister at all.

Sciuri Sciuri nodded farewell to her sister and watched her walk off, making sure that she set off in the correct direction. Since she was already exposed from having watched Aylin's departure she decided it was silly to hide anymore. She climbed on top of the pile of rocks so that she could see for the greatest distance in all directions and settled down as comfortably as she could. She would wait all night, falling asleep several times. It didn't matter. Ru didn't come. When the sky began to lighten Sciuri crawled home miserably and slunk into her aunt Gliri's empty den to sleep.
