Those had been the famous last words when it came to Briallan and Rakshi heading towards Briallan's mother's lands. They had reached a small cave when suddenly there was a pang of excruciating sensation in Briallan's body. Her water broke and she collapsed at the mouth of the cave. Rakshi was almost panicked, then he calmed himself and assisted his mate far enough into the cave that she was safe from most of the elements. He scrambled off to a nearby village and snatched up three baskets, he'd heard that most times does and mares only birthed two foals, but it was better off to be prepared rather than leave anything to chance. He soon arrived back to find Briallan in tears, and gritting her teeth.


The birthing had been a long and hard process, the foals, three of them rested in the baskets that seemed to be so plain moments ago, and now they were taking on some strange colors, Rakshi and a very worn out Briallan smiled at one another. They'd managed to safely bring the children into the world, and now they'd have to send word to both of the families about what had happened. This was going to be a most auspicious occasion, they were lifemated, and they'd already produced their first progeny. A set of lovely baskets that would soon enough grow into foals or fawns, depending on whose side they took after more.


Soon the news was sent, the two families would gather at the meadow just before the cave in a week or more, and hopefully the timing would be just right and the whole family would be introduced to the next generation.

She raised her head sleepily and gave a small yawn before nosing the baskets around. She'd been the one to go and send word to her mother to come and meet them at the meadow. All be it she had left the message with Roselyn before high tailing it back to the baskets. She trusted Rakshi not to have many issues protecting their young ones but she just couldn't bare to drag herself away from them for too long. They were vulnerable in their little baskets and if they had to move them for safety reasons she'd rather not leave Rakshi all alone to deal with that. Luckily her fears hadn't come to pass and their stay had been safe in the cave. "I can eat." She smiles and stretched her neck enough to nibble at the grass. Swallowing what was in her mouth, she smiled and chuckled. "Who knows.. knowing Roselyn we'll hear her and magic and my mother before we see them. Roselyn was very excited when i found her and told her to give mother my message."

Almost as if on cue, bushes rustling and happy giggles would be heard outside of the cave's mouth. Roselyn's voice soon followed it all. "Common Lady Sho! this way we'll be late!!" Out hopped the little bunny.

A dainty musical laugh followed along with small hoof steps. "All right Roselyn allright.. I'm coming ok? I just have to move a bit slower so I'm not stuck.." Shoshana's voice chimes sweetly after the small bunny before she too emerged from the foliage of the brush. she was small for a mare, like her daughter only slightly bigger than Briallan herself. Magic was padding quietly along behind her watching to make sure her mistress' tail didn't get caught on anything.

Albert sped across the field, his cloak billowing behind him as he raced along. His hooves beat like thunder across the hard-packed ground. At his side, was his mate Meru, who was stretched out to her fullest. The had started this journey at a leisurely pace, and now, she was racing him. Apparently, the foals were just about ready to emerge, and just about Everyone was going to be there. At least they were going to make good time.

Meru race along, putting her all into running. She had shorter legs, but he had that big ol' wind sail attached to his back that was probably causing drag. She would win, she knew it this time.

Karloff let out a low chuckle as he quickened his pace. This was going to be quite an event, not only was this the foals of the next generation, but this would be the first time that any of them had met him or Lucian. And they were both not the easiest to get use to. Karloff felt very subconscious of his mask as he kept pace with Ailbhe. What would her family think of him? He wasn't exactly friendly looking...But he had satiated himself on blood before coming, and Sippy was sleeping gently on his back. And what would they think of the foal they had adopted, who was now practically and adult?

Lucian was a few paces behind. A bit confused on to why they both wanted him to come. Karloff and he had hunted long into the night to prepare for the journey, so much so that he still felt full and kind of sloshy. He didn't understand how important it was for them to met him. The social moriee of family meetings went beyond his current understandings.

He heard Roselyn and an unfamiliar voice, deciding that it was likely Briallan's mother, then he heard his father and his sister Leila, it was surprising that they were the first to arrive, considering how it was most of the time. He nickered a greeting to his sister, "I think they're about to..." Rakshi was cut short by the basket with darling green decorations on it decided it was time to introduce itself. His eyes opened wide as he saw a little mare that was the spitting image of his beloved, right down to the flush on her little cheeks. His chest swelled with fatherly pride, "Hello little one." He smiled knowing the name they'd been thinking of for this basket suited her so well. He glanced at the other two baskets wondering when they'd open up, knowing how hard the entire process had been on not only them, but Briallan as well.

He looked at his mate, "Look, little Meyra is the first to see the outside world." He couldn't help beaming and listening for more thunderous footsteps coming their direction, so many of the clan would be there, and they'd simply have to visit those that couldn't make it today.

Alinea had been sorting out her own feelings, on many a subject, but now was not the time to think about this, her only female friend had given birth, and she needed to be there to support the little doe. It was odd, but then Alinea only had a few friends, and one of them she was so irritated with that she couldn't talk to him for the time being. The other...had gotten a lifemate, and gotten knocked up. Alinea sighed as she saw the cave she'd been directed to, and heard joyous voices, "Good grief, they're already popping." She landed as decorously as possible and trotted up to the cave, "Bri!" She saw her friend lounging to eat, and one of the baskets had popped, "Wow...you really have been busy while I was gone." She chuckled a bit and looked at the other two baskets, both seeming to stir more with the more attention that was drawn to them

The basket that had been quite pink began to wiggle wildly, the wicker burst and all that could be seen was a rump with a very fluffy ceyreni tail. The foal grumbled and whinnied a little in frustration, her rump disappeared into the basket and then she popped up her head through the hole, "Oh! Sis you got out already!" With that she disappeared again, more noise, and the basket fell apart, gangly legs tottering out and about, her mane a pale blue color, and her coat prettily displaying the colors of the basket she'd been in, "Sis! Sis!" She tripped and slid, rolling head over ankles right out of the cave.

Sena chuckled a little when little Meyra popped from her basket and zoomed to hide beneath her father. "Hello little one," he murmured lightly. He blinked and looked curiously at the black and red newcomer. "Hello there," he said and nodded in greeting. Next came little Haven, and Sena laughed at her as she got frustrated with the basket, and he gasped when she tumbled out of the cave. He started to go after her when he saw that Briallan had it under control as well as someone else, he believed to be Bri's mother. A movement had him looking back at the baskets to see a little muzzle appearing out of the last basket. Sena started to lean forward, then jumped back when he snapped the lid shut. "Haha, shy one, are you?" he murmured.

Leila squealed in glee when the baskets started popping and she bumped against her brother's side as she watched the three pop in their own ways. "Eee! Rakshi!! They're all so ADORABLE! Look how pretty the fillies are!! Such pretty colors!! Ooh and the boy looks just like you!" she crooned happily, so excited, but a little afraid to get near them just now. "I bet you're soooo proud!" she giggled a little, her ears perking up when she heard her sister and mother outside and she picked her way through the cave to run outside. "Mama mama! You gotta come see! They're so cute! Tian!! C'mon! They're all so adorable!!" she said excitedly as she pranced from hoof to hoof.

By the time Ail arrived at the cave, ahead of her mate and their adopted son, almost everyone else was there, and she almost had to squeeze through to see the foals. What she saw was rather adorable. Three mostly white foals, a colt and two fillies. The colt and one filly, both more colorful than their sister, had some Cerynei features, which evidently came from the mare standing so happily with the foals and her cousin. The mare in question was mostly Cerynei, and definitely a prize, a lovely nearly pure white mare with roses in her long mane. The palest filly was a pure Cerynei, probably a throwback to a grandparent who wasn't present, because Ail couldn't see any other pure Cerynei here.

Ail grinned and looked around, seeing who all was here and hoping to catch her cousin Rakshi's eye so she could properly congratulate him on such cute newborn foals. The smile on his mate's face made her briefly wonder what it was like to be a proper mother. Well, she already was one to little Lucian, but it made her think excitedly about some that were truly her and Karl's own.
