Chrono Island

After the destruction of the Mudkip Training Ground known as Crescent Island, the Academy was forced to select a different location for new students of the class to train and capture pokemon. At the suggestion of one Professor, Chrono Island was selected. A mysterious island, it seems to directly contradict everything the Mudkip Class stands for, each region of the island seeming to stand in defiance of the natural laws of time and space. The Islands structure appearance in defiance of all logic.

A place where the ancient stands along the modern, where hot is cold, and rivers run in reverse. Anything and everything could happen in this place...and only the strongest students will ever reach it's center.

So, with level head and steady hand, are you ready to take up the challenge of Chrono Island, or will you simply become another grain in the sands of time?

Pick a direction, and let the adventure begin!

Rules

- There are three sections to the Island, each containing three different types of pokemon, Common, Uncommon, & Rare. To reach each of the three rings, you must post ten times, and each time that you post you must roll 1d20.

- If you Roll any number higher than 10 ...you will encounter a pokemon to fight & defeat. If you roll a 1 you will experience have to battle the Guardian of that area.

- HP does not rest/heal after battle, so each battle you fight will take a greater toll on your pokemon.

- Once your pokemon's HP reaches 0 your pokemon will faint/ If your pokemon's HP is knocked below -5 your pokemon will die. Thus, knowing when to leave a battle is your best chance of survival, and avoiding unnecessary conflict can save your life.

- To capture a pokemon, you must roll 1d20. The number needs to be higher than the pokemon's Capture Rate.

ISLAND RING ONE

User Image

NORTH: Clockwork Cavern

A simple cave by outward appearance, the entrance stands as the first hint of what lies within. The mouth of the cave is covered by a giant clock face, shattered and rusted by time, it still continues to tick on.

Inside the cavern's depths students will find rock walls showing exposed gears and boards, a floor covered with sand, and the constant sound of ticking as their companion. Oddly a small stream seems to run through the middle of the cavern, heading in the opposite direction one would believe it rightly should.

EAST: Gravitation Plain

One of the islands heaviest defiance against the natural laws, the Gravitation Plain is named so for the severe lack of Gravity holding together the landscape. There stands no solid ground connecting this place to the island, but rather hundreds of floating rocks and platforms hanging directly over the ocean.

Stranger still is the fact that the pull of gravity remains strangely unchanged for the majority of living creatures in the area; because of this the area has come to be populated primarily by Flying-Types, along with a few poor Rock Pokemon whom became caught in the debry field.

WEST: Primordial Pools

[Enter from -Ordeal of Darkness-]
Wilt had a chill time while the Wartortle swam. Then, when they got there, Wilt thanked the Wartortle and started heading North. He was going to have some fun on this mission even though he needed to catch a Pokemon. He yawned and began his journey to catch anything he came across. He hoped luck would be on his side.

Wilt then took a breather. He was about to fall asleep when he realized he had something to do. He walked about hoping more and more to reach a Pokemon he could catch as he need to complete this mission. He wasn't sure what'd happen if he didn't, but he didn't want to take any chances with it being Akumu Academy and all.

((You seem to have figured it out, but I'll post it for the sake of saying it out loud.))

((If you don't roll anything on the encounter list just keep posting till you either find something, or hit 10/10 non-battle posts.))

Wilt kept heading North, not sure where he was going or how he'd get there, but he just kept chugging. He was going to be the little engine that could in this situation no matter what happens. Wilt was a winner, he succeeded in the things he did, that is why he kept going.

As Wilt headed further along the cavern, gears clinking together and sand sinking beneath his feet, the boy would spot something odd...or rather not spot it...then spot it again. Whether it was a trick of the light or a figment of the child's imagination would be hard to tell, as a creature seemed to flicker in and out of existence ahead of him.

Passing back and forth through the walls as it drew closer, the pokemon seemed to be passing back and forth like a guardsmen on the watch for intruders.

It appeared to be a Duskull, red wisp floating in it's hand like a candle-wick.

The pokemon hadn't seemed to have spotted him yet, and so how to deal with the encounter was up to Wilt it would seem. Would the child fight, flee, or try something else entirely?

Wilt was kind of spooked out by the Duskull appearing from nowhere, but he knew he needed to battle. With that, Wilt sent out his Scyther, Slice. He knew Slice had a disadvantage due to the moves at his disposal, but he had luck on his side. "Alright Slice, get ready, because he might have to bail if this doesn't work out how we need it to!"

(...you know it's physically impossible to damage him right?...and that Leer won't bring down the capture rate at all?)

Both body and presence solidifying, the Duskull halted in his eternal march. Turning to face the newly arrived Scyther, the ghost brought the red wisp to his empty right socket and shoved it in. Apparently the pokemon had been carrying it's own eye.

Silent as the grave, the pokemon simply stood there arms behind his back, and waited to see what the insect would do.

"Slice, we can not do damage, at all, but we can just try to catch it with the best of luck." With that, Wilt threw a Pokeball hoping he might actually catch the Duskull. Slice just stayed in a battle position hoping he might get involved in the battle at one point or another.

The ball flew toward the Duskull, and through it, shattering against the floor. One ball the child would never get back, wasted on a Duskull far too strong to capture easily.

Unfortunately, this also left the pokemon free to strike back against the Scyther. Fading in and out of existence once more, the Duskull disappeared completely, then reappeared at the Scyther's side, striking out with Faint Attack.

"Watch out Slice!" Wilt yelled to his Scyther, "Try to dodge it!" Wilt wasn't sure on how this'd work but he hoped it did. Slice tried to jump back into making sure he wasn't to get hit.

((Interesting fact, Faint ignores accuracy completely. It never misses...the downside is this...))

(7 - 8 ) = -1 DMG

((Also just to say you have a maximum of three guaranteed runs on the island.))

Disappearing from view once again, the Duskull reappeared in exactly the same location he had been before attacking. Arms behind his back, the spectral watchmen waited patiently to see just what the child would do.
