New Tournament
((Couldn't think of a great idea for the tournament let me know if you have ideas))
Kaiba is hosting a new tournament after a long break from playing duel monsters. The preliminary rounds are held at the Domino pier and then a select amount will board the Kaiba Luxury Cruise ship for the rest of the tournament.
Name: Samiko Kaiba Age: 20 Bio:Sam is Seto's younger sister who was adopted into the Kaiba family with her brothers. But Gozoburro had so use for her to be around so he sent her away to a boarding school in America. She was very lonely and instead of making a lot of friends she played games like duel monsters. After finishing school she moved back in with her brothers. She hates feeling inferior to all her brother's success and power. He doesnt take any of her ideas for the company seriously. To prove to her brother that she is just as good if not better to him her new goal is to do the one thing he could never due and that is to beat Yugi Mouto. She has already joined numerous tournaments to compete with him while Seto was taking a break from dueling but she always came in second.
Name: Seto Kaiba Age: 22 Bio: Seto had never felt more successful in his work but he still couldnt beat Yugi and it was driving him insane. He took a break from dueling to work on his company and Kaiba Land and now feels fully prepared to take Yugi down once and for all so he is hosting a new tournament.
Name: Yugi Mouto Age: 21 Bio: Yugi is still living in the game shop with his grandfather and now Atem, everyone just thinks they are twins. And as much as he loves Atem like a brother and wouldnt want him to have left, lately he has been feeling like he has been in his shadow again. So with this tournament he wants to prove once again that he is his own person and proud of who he is.
((Maybe we can start at the end of the last tournament?))

((I shall think of something and PM it to you smile ))
Name: Akiko Sarandon Age: 20 Bio: Akiko went to the same boarding school as Samiko Kaiba. Even though she attended a boarding school, she lived at home with her parents. The only reason she was attending was because her parents felt that school would give her a better education. Akiko felt as if it was a waste of time and money, she just wanted to go to a normal high school. She never hung with any of the boarding school students, she hung out with childhood friends and cousins outside of the school. It wasn't until the end of her senior year of high school when she met Samiko. Finally someone who wasn't snobbish and stuck up. They both shared a common interest (among others), duel monsters. And though she had been playing for years, Sam introduced her to tournaments. Akiko can be playful and fun, but she can also be competitive, passive aggressive, sarcastic, and down right immature.
Name: Joey Wheeler Age: 21 Bio: After high school Joey left his father's house and got his own apartment. Of course, it wasn't the best of places to live- but it was all he could afford. To make ends meat, he took on two jobs, one as a mechanic assist and the other as a video rental store cashier. Because of this, he hasn't had much time to himself or with friends. With the up coming tournament, he is looking to win first so he can use the money for payments on the apartment and quit one of his jobs.
Name: Atem Motou Age: 21 Bio: Since Atem did not choose to pass over to the other side, he was granted a separate body. He lives with Yugi and his Grandfather in the game shop. Even though he was a part of Yugi, he now feels like his brother. Time has gone by, yet some things have stayed the same- Kaiba is still his rival and hates Atem because he is unable to beat him. On top of that, his sister has become his new rival- she is just as determined to try and take him down, if not more then her brother. Normally, Atem would enjoy a challenge, but Samiko actually irks him. Kaiba he could put up with, Sam he can't.

It was Sunday night and there was a lot of commotion down at the domino pier. Seto watched from the deck of the cruise ship while the passengers were boarding the large and very luxurious cruise line that had the name Kaiba printed very nicely and decorated with 3 blue eyes white dragons. He wore a large smirk on his face. He was excited. He hadn't dueled or participated in any tournaments in over a year. Now he was hosting the greatest tournament ever. Only elite duelists received a special invitation. Other passed difficult tests in order to join. His eyes darted back and forth across the crowd, trying to spot the rivals that were very hard to miss. Instead he locked eyes with his sister down in the crowd. He chuckled. She really was determined but she couldn't beat him. Though he had not dueled in forever he never stopped planning new strategies, and he was sure he had the perfect deck now. In one week he was sure he would be the new King of Games.
Sam stood in the crowd, waiting for her friend, her only friend, Akiko. She made very few friends throughout her life. She was similar to her brother where she felt that failure wasn't an option. So she spent her time trying to be the best at everything instead of making friends. Of course Seto never acknowledged her greatness. After all he had this successful company and power. She didn't have any of that. They had dueled once when she moved back home after high school. It was very close but she did end up losing. She challenged him again and he refused. He had lost to Yugi and Atem and chose to give up dueling for a while. So she went after Atem instead. Countless tournaments and she still couldn't beat him. It always was close and a good match but in the end she always lost. It infuriated her. She had to beat him to finally get her brother to give her the recognition she deserved!
Yugi arrived at the pier with his friends and took a deep breath before getting out of the car. He looked at the huge crowd surrounding the ship. He felt anxious but excited too. He was nervous he wouldn't be able to complete the goal he came here to. He completely reconstructed his deck and took no advise from Atem. He wanted to win this on his own. He walked closed to the crowd. "Wow... I recognize a lot of these duelists...." he said looking around. They were from all over the world. He had dueled most of them before. Then he thought of a certain rival that was sure to be here too. He sighed. He wasn't a confrontational person but he somehow got on this girl's nerves. He had just been nervous so he mixed up his wording a bit. He had actually been trying to compliment her and make her feel better about losing and he ended up insulting her. Now every time he sees her the same thing happens.

Atem shut the car off and stepped out to look at all the competitors gathering at the deck. He sighed a little as he got his stuff. Yes, he was excited for this tournament, this will be one of the biggest tournaments that he has been to since... well since Battle City. He had attended many other tournaments, but nothing as big as this. One thing he had to hand to Kaiba, he did know how to throw a tournament. It being on a cruise ship seems a little much, but that was the way he was. Atem was excited..... but actually dreading this a little. It was Seto Kaiba's tournament, but he knew that his other rival would have to be there. Seto's sister, Samiko Kaiba. He was not worried about the competition between he and her, it was her that he was not looking forward to. It was one thing to be a rival, it was another to try and drive him crazy. How was he going to put up with her on a cruise ship for over a week? He decided that the best course of action was to be the bigger person and be mature about this. He'd just have to lay down the law with her. "Joey, are you going to just sit there or are you coming?" Atem said to his friend in the back seat.
Joey sat in the back seat with all the luggage, staring in marvel at the crusie ship. He was snapped out of it when Atem called out to him. He scooted out with the stuff and exclaimed, "Awww man this is going to be sweet! I can't wait! Man.... they should just let us duel tonight! Why do we have to wait until tomorrow? I wanna duel nowwwww!" Joey spoke as if he was an excited child. He hitched a ride with his buddies since he couldn't afford a vehicle of his own.... he could barely afford his rent! That's why this tournament was so important to him- he needed this money! Yugi was already ahead of them, checking out the competition. He followed along, taking in everything.
Akiko had already been on the dock. For once, she was on time. No way she was going to miss this! The loud sound of her inline skates could be heard as she skated through the dock. She was looking for her buddy Sam- skating around was just quicker. "Saaaaaam where arrrrrre you?" she said in a low yell. Finally! She saw her! "There you are! Thank god! I thought you would be up there with your brother," she said as she slowed down and left her hand out to high five Sam. It was nice to have another female friend that dueled. She had other friends- females who didn't duel and males that did duel but never invited her to play. At first it was because they thought she would suck, after playing against them they didn't allow her to duel with them because they didn't want their asses handed to them by a girl. "Oh man I'm so psyched for this you have no idea," she said happily as she stood there swaying her legs in skates slightly forward and backward. "Hey you think they'll allow skates on board? I think they should," she added semi-seriously.

Sam heard her name and turned slightly, smiling as she spotted her friend. "Akiko!" She high fived her. "I wanted to check out the competition." She said, she also was hoping to bump into a certain someone but she still hadnt spotted him or his friends. If he didnt show up she would be pissed! She chuckled about the skates. "Even if they dont its not like they can catch you haha... just do me a favor and dont fall overboard." She joked back. "Lets get going I guess. I didnt get to upgrade us to a nicer room though..." She said with a pout. "Seto said they will be like prizes and for the finalists..." She said kind of bummed that she wasnt getting special treatment.
Seto continued to search the crowd. He ended up spotting Joey before the other two. His eyebrows furrowed together angrilly and he grimaced. He thought he made the tests difficult. And Joey certainly didnt receive an invitation from him. He couldnt stand Joey. He was so childish and carefree and just such a loser. This tournament was a reflection on himself and having a punk like Joey in it just made him look bad. He sighed frustratedly and tried to focus on what was really important here, Atem and Yugi both showed up. He was sure they would. He didnt care about any other duelists because he could beat them all easily.
Seeing someone move very quickly through the crowd caught his eye as he was searching for familiar faces and waiting for his friends. He recognized her immediately and he looked uncomfortable and a little panicked. It was Akiko! then he noticed she was with Sam too. He moved over to Atem and tugged on his sleeve then gave him a look and nodded his head in their direction. If they could just avoid them then he wouldnt have to deal with the confrontations. His mind already felt clouded and he knew he would say something stupid. "L-lets hurry up guys! This way!" he said and kind of pushed them towards another way through the crowd.

Atem felt Yugi start to push him in another direction. He looked at him first with confusion. "Yugi, what are you..." he mumbled at first and decided to turn around. He saw it, the two girls. Both he and Yugi didn't want to deal with either girl. But he knew they would eventually have to. "Yugi, we are going to have to confront them eventually..." he said at first but then stopped knowing that he felt uncomfortable talking to his rival. But it was true.
"Pff, not like they are that tough either. They just blow a lot of steam," Joey added to Atem's comments. He honestly didn't see why they were so uncomfortable around the two girls. Sure, they could be obnoxious from time to time, but if the four of them just all had a moment to talk to one another and work things out, he was sure they could all be friends. Especially Atem and Sam, after all, Sam wasn't lke her arrogant egotistical brother Seto.
Akiko laughed and replied, "Hahaha I'll try not to! I'll at least take them off during duels!" She shrugged a little and smiled, "Ah that's ok, I don't mind having a normal room like everyone else." She began to follow Sam but took a look around, seeing all the duelist who were competing. Wow, there were a lot, there were very few faces she recognized. She smiled, fresh meat. She then noticed something familiar, she stopped and focused on it. "Oh great," she said rolling her eyes, "Star heads are here...." Akiko face palmed a little and rubbed the area were her glasses laid. For being Yugi's rival she was less then enthusiastic about him being here. Yes, she would take the opportunity to try and beat him- that's what rivals did. But she didn't like being around him. She would have liked to be his friend, but he has made it clear multiple times that he thinks she's a joke. And he always put on that good guy act! She hated that! She didn't know what his deal was.

Sam stopped and looked over her shoulder when she heard Akiko mention the ones she had been keeping an eye out for. She smirked when her eyes spotted them. "Good.... this tournament is of big chance to finally beat them!" She said to her friend, feeling very confident. She couldn't help but feel the need to talk s**t to these opponents so once she spotted them she made her way over, assuming Akiko was following.
"I know but-" Yugi tried to protest but he knew he was right. But he could at least try to avoid them for the time being. He wanted to actually enjoy this tournament, not be paranoid about offending this girl again. He knew they would eventually see each other on the ship and probably duel too. He was actually kind of looking forward to dueling her. Even though with every other duel he had made her despise him more and more maybe this time he could change her mind.
"Well if it isn't the King of Games... You better enjoy that title while you have it." She said, stopping in front of them. She had an attitude similar to Seto's. She liked to trash talk a lot but she wasn't as cynical and spiteful.
Yugi looked at Akiko and then Sam and back to Akiko. He wasn't really sure what to say to them, he was kind of afraid to talk, afraid she would just go off on him for anything he messed up.

"Oh wait but..." Akiko said. Now that was stupid of her... she knew Sam would react this way and yet she said something. Akiko pinched the top of her nose where the corner of the eyes meet and rubbed them slightly. Oh well, this was bound to happen. She followed Sam towards the group and stopped right beside her.
Atem then heard a familiar voice. He rolled his eyes and sighed before turning to her. He then turned around confidently and replied to Sam, "You assume too quickly that I will lose it in this tournament. As you do in all tournaments we attend." Hmm, that came out stronger then he had planned. Atem scratched his forehead slightly then said, "Look Sam, we are going to be on this cruise ship for about seven days. The least we can do is be mature and decent to one another. I don't mind competition, just leave the childishness behind you." Atem was firm but fair in his statement. He believed all he had to do was be mature about this and things would be fine. He has never spoken to Sam like this, other tournaments were wide spread enough, as well as shorter to where you may or may not see one another. The cruise ship was large, but there was a high chance of ruining into one another multiple times.
"Hahahaha! Aaaaand it begins!" Joey said as he witnessed Sam and Atem already going at it. Personally he thought it was funny. "But that's the girls for ya, all bark and no bite," he said laughing a little. He really didn't see the harm in teasing them, it was just playful banter right?
Akiko, who during the whole time made no eye contact with anyone, finally shot her eyes at Joey. "I haven't even said anything yet...." she said in a low snare. Joey was your typical guy gamer- the ones who think they are always better then everyone else and the second they are beaten by someone they would never expect, they say 'oh well I wasn't trying'.
" Oh HEY! There is the little Miss feminist! Didn't see you there!" he laughed.
Akiko gritted her teeth and moved in closer to Joey. She pointed at him and yelled, "I'm not a god damn feminist! How many times do I have to explain that to you?!" She paused for a moment when he started to laugh more and came back and said, "You just better not cry again when I wipe the floor with you. You better be 'trying' this time." She then turned her anger towards Yugi and pointed at him, "And I know what your thinking so don't even say it!" Really she had no clue what he was thinking or what he was going to say, but she could assume that it wasn't anything good.

Sam glared and gritted her teeth as he reminded her of her failures. "Those we all just warm ups for this tournament. I have all new strategies and i'm deffinitley winning the whole thing!" She declared. She just got even matter when he called her childish, she took what he said as an insult. She crossed her arms. "It sounds to me like youre afraid of the competition." she challenged. She snickered and laughed a little when Akiko called Joey out on the last time she beat him.
Yugi practically jumped out of his skin when she turned and yelled at him. He hadnt even done anything! "I didnt say anything about you being a crazy feminist!" he said quickly, not meaning to call her that but just to defend himself. This wasnt even a bad comment compared to when they got riled up in duels. He did want to just clear the air but he was too scared to apologize. He tried once and she took it as pity or something. And every time she looked at him his mind just went blank and he got all nervous.

Atem rolled his eyes a little and sighed when she claimed all other duels to be 'warm ups'. He had to admit that was a cheap excuse. He then raised an eyebrow when Sam he was afraid of competition. He bit his tongue, holding back an insult. After all he was trying to be mature about this. He replied to her, "I'm not afraid of competition at all. I welcome it. Why should I be afraid of another duelist's skill?" he spoke confidently. He was still collected but he was slowly becoming annoyed with her- as he always did. He then smirked slightly and said, "I hope what you said is true and you do have new strategies. That is if you plan to beat me." Hmm, that didn't come out quite right either. A little bit of annoyance crept out on that one. No matter, he was still being much more mature about this then Sam could ever be.
"You were thinking it...." she snared again. She then realized exactly what he said and narrowed her one eye, "Oh.... so now I'm crazy as well?" Where did he get off saying that now?! She straightened up and looked away from him in anger. Why? Cause she did things a little differently then the norm? Because she was a tomboy? Did he really think she was a feminist or something? She looked back at him and argued, "Not that I need to explain myself, but unlike those extremists I don't believe that one gender is overall more superior then the other." She stopped then looked away again.... she hated making eye contact when she was mad. "Never mind..... why am I even explaining this to you?" she said in a murmur.
