Ahoy! Welcome, the the newly opened Pirate Rock! It's a combination Theatre and Arcade! Bring your friends, or crush to enjoy all we have to offer! In the Arcade we have most of the common games out there, from Dance Dance Revolution, to Skeetball! Most games are Pirate themed, but we do have some that are not, those being tucked by their own wall. Regardless, you win tickets with every game you play! Redeem these tickets at the "Booty Chest" part of the arcade. The threatre has only 5 screens, but I try to keep up with all the most latest choices for movies. I keep selected movies for about a month (Season). Every Sunday I have Oldies night. I'll select two movies from either the 5o's 6o's 7o's or 8o's, and play them from open to close! Monday is Anime Day! All the sceens are showing movies from selected Animes! Dubbed so people who don't happen to speak Japanese can understand them! (Rather, for people who can understand English).
I hope to see you pass through, I also take recommendations! So drop off a suggestion in my families mailbox, and I'll look into getting your suggestion to play on Thursday nights, for "Peoples Choice Night!"

Ah~ Another day without Ray tagging alone. Being constantly followed didn't sit well with small boy who was always looking for adventure. Though the island wasn't to great for adventuring. Everything was farms. So lame. Today June found a gem in this dirt pile of an island though. An arcade! An arcade in this run down place. This was probably the best thing so far about moving here. However, this place still sucked in his eyes. After all, the place he came from had an arcade also. But oh well, at least now he had something to do. He was stationed at a fighting game, a pocket full of quarters and a drink he had gotten from the counter. June loved fighting games. But because he was never really good at them, he never liked playing with other people. Especially not his brother. There's no way he would even take the risk of doing something as embarrassing as losing to his little wuss of a brother. So he sat alone at his game, making a growling noise here and there when he was losing.

It had taken Yuri a surprisingly long time to get herself to the movie theater. She had noticed that there was an arcade during one of her many walks around town, and even though she was greatly attracted to the place (despite its flashy pirate theme) she couldn't will herself to go. Her father never liked it when she played videogames, he thought it was a waste of time, that children should be doing more with their minds. She didn't watch much television for that same reason. She had been on her toes for a while now, feeling guilty about wanting to rebel, and she had actually spent the past few days, as her father was home, in bed with a stomachache, probably due to the stress she was causing. But he had taken the boat out this morning, and she couldn't stand staying in that house any longer, and so she decided to man up and visit the arcade.
Really, she had never seen so many games in one place, and she almost felt timid as she entered the movie theater. She didn't know what to do, and so she stood there awkwardly, tugging at the ribbon sewn to the waist of her dress. She honestly had no idea where to start, it was kind of noisy, and yet, a soft sound caught her attention. She glanced around in search of the source, when a blonde head caught her attention. It took a moment to recognize June, and when she did, she debated going over to talk to him. He had been a jerk during their previous meetings, but he was the closest thing to a friend that she had, and she didn't want to keep standing there. So she walked over, stopping behind him, and peered over his head at the game he was playing. "What's that noise for?"

Thirteen loses... Thirteen loses in a row against the computer. June gripped the joystick of the machine hard as his teeth gridded together. There really was no one as bad at games as this boy was. Though he would never let anyone know that. Not purposefully anyway. He was the type to get defensive and was really petty when it came to losing. A sore loser if you will. No one was here that the boy knew though. So he didn't have to suffer the humiliation of someone knowing he was bad. That's right, besides him there wasn't another soul in the arcade. No one but him, and the girl behind him... June's head rotated to the side to see who had addressed him. And when he saw the girl, his teeth clenched even tighter. The boy really would need a grind guard later on in life. The situation would have been fine if it was just a random person, or even Ray. But this goody-two shoes? Why did it have to be her? "What's it to you?" He said in an apathetic tone as his eyes narrowed, staring Yuri down.

Yuri probably would have sighed if she didn't have such a competitive spirit. Why did he have to be so aggressive all the time? She just asked a question, he could have answered normally. Or just said hello. But he was a kid, so she had to remind herself not to expect too much of him, and instead just stared back at him. "Nothing, really. It just sounded weird, so I was curious." she shrugged slightly and moved to his side, so she could look at the game he was playing. "What are you playing? Is it fun?" She had only ever played videogames at her friends' houses back home, so she didn't recognize much here. Maybe he would have a suggestion. She looked at the system over a few times. Well, maybe this one wouldn't suit her very much... But if June liked it, she could maybe give it a try. This was, in her eyes, her chance to get along better with the boy. She didn't want to go to school without knowing anyone. That sounded boring, and there wasn't much of a reason to go if she didn't have a friend.

Sounded weird? What did? It's not like June knew he was growling. He was just that frustrated. Kind of like a tunnel vision effect. So to the boy, this girl was just spouting nonsense. But, what else was new? This girl... What was her name? Whatever. She was just a pain in the a**. And of course, she wasn't going to leave him alone. He sighed, dropping his hands from the machine and spun to face her. Losing his glare for an apathetic look he began to speak, "It's garbage." At this point he wasn't trying to be rude. He really felt that way about the game. Just, his choice in words was a little off. "If almost makes me want to never come back here," A hyperbole of course. June was quite fed up with the machine though. He had been playing for so long, it took a lot of the money he had been saving up. Which just made him angrier. Though before taking it out on the girl, he let out a sigh. He wasn't so cruel as to tongue lash a girl for trying to be friendly. "So what's miss goody two-shoes doing here today?," He asked trying to keep his voice from showing anger. Maybe she would tell him her name again if he said this with out seeming too mean.

...Yuri wasn't entirely sure of how to react. He was so negative, this kid! Probably the most negative person she had ever met! It was enough to make her want to give up and go home. It shouldn't this hard, making friends, right? Weren't friends supposed to just... click? It almost didn't feel worth it. She should just give up, leave, obviously she and this boy weren't destined to get along. And she was just about to go through with it too, when she paused. Even if she found him hard to withstand, it wasn't like she had encountered many other kids. And she had been there for over a season already! And so she decided to give him one more try. So she wiped the startled expression from her face and tried again. "O-Oh, really? That's disappointing." She glanced at the game June had been playing. It didn't look that bad. Maybe that was a novice's mistake?
It took a lot of self control for Yuri's expression to not turn sour. She was making an effort to like this kid, she couldn't let everything get to her! Still, it wouldn't hurt to let out an exasperated sigh. "Stop calling me that. I have a name, you know." He had probably forgotten. The only reason she remembered his name so soon after meeting him was because he really was the only person she had properly met since moving to the island. Sure, she could easily remind him of her name, but... Something sparked in the back of her mind. Where would the fun in that be? Maybe she'd be able to teach him not to be such a jerk to her. And so she quickly switched to a smile as she answered his question.
"I like games. My dad doesn't like it when I play them in the house, so I was hoping there'd be an arcade here," she explained, looking around. "What do you like to play? Could you show me?" She was genuinely interested, this kid looked like he knew what he was doing! ...Or maybe not, since he had obviously lost the game he had been playing before.

Oh? She didn't get mad and start yelling. She usually yelled. Well, when he did something to offend her at least. Even more than that, she seemed to be trying to start up a conversation. She was determined. June liked stubborn people, "I don't remember it." He told her bluntly. He didn't feel like keeping it a secret. He hated secrets and lies more than anything else. Even more than losing. If this girl was going to stick around even though he was being a jerk (yes, the boy knew how he was acting), then he should at least try to get along as well. Besides, there was no way he could lose to a girly girl like this in video games. No matter how bad he was (which was really bad). "I like the fighting games," June said as he pointed back to the machine. Like wasn't the word he would have used to describe it before. He liked it better than any other game he lost at though. He scooted the stool he was sitting on over to allow the girl to reach the second player controls, "It's easier if you just play."

Yuri had expected June to at least try to pretend that he knew her name. That's what most normal people would do, right? They'd be embarrassed that they had forgotten something like that, and would just hope it would come up. She had met enough people at the parties her father sometimes dragged her to who struggled to recall the name of some coworker's wife. But this kid didn't even care that he had forgotten! "That's really rude!" she exclaimed. "It's Yuri! Y-U-R-I!" she spelled out for him, writing the letters in the air with her index finger. Maybe if he forgot again, she'd let him suffer (or not, this kid didn't seem to care about most things), but for now, she was just desperate to get along. "I remember yours," she pointed out before choosing to drop it and turned to look at the game.
June had stepped aside to let her join in, and the girl looked at the system with interest. She had never played a fighting game before, and even though she knew her father would disapprove greatly, she took some quarters out of the little purse that hung off her small frame, and started a new game. "I've never done this before, so if I'm not doing it right..." she began, looking at June from the corner of her eye in muted embarrassment. Oh well, she could figure it out as she went. It was just a game!
...A difficult game.

June had decided to ignore the first part of the girls little speech. Though he did at least catch her name. He wouldn't forget it... Hopefully. The boy didn't care for being talked at though, so he blocked out whatever the girl was saying about the name business. And as they begun to play, was the most June had ever focused on the girl. She was horrible, down right bad at this game. Not just bad, worst than June. Worst than the boy who couldn't beat the computers on easy. Somehow this put a smirk on the boy's face. There was someone he could actually beat. No, that's not right. It's just the computers were to hard! That had to be it. It was rigged! No one could beat someone as good as June. And as the game came to an end, he let Yuri know that. With a smug tone and large grin he began to talk, "Don't feel to bad about it~" Ah, there really was no better feeling then being better than someone else. "I mean it was your first time after all," He really loved the feeling, "There's no way a beginner could beat someone as great as me."

This... this was humiliating! Yuri would have collapsed against the machine if she had any faith in her ability to not fall off the stool, so she slumped forward slightly in her defeat. She knew she wouldn't be good at it, but this... this was amazingly awful! She almost was unable to move her character. She had just kind of stood there, awkwardly kicking and punching. It was embarrassing, and even though Yuri was young, she still had enough pride to turn pink at her defeat. She could have dealt with an embarrassing loss if she had been playing against someone with any tact at all, but no, she was playing against June. He had an awful smug look on his face, and all she wanted to do was wipe it off. She knew what he was thinking -- she was just a pathetic little girl who couldn't even play a simple game! Yeah, well... she was taller than him! Much taller! "Let's play again!" she looked at him intently. She wasn't really that competitive, not really. Usually she didn't care about winning or losing or being the best. She just liked the attention, that was all, and hated to be thought of badly. For some reason, even though this was a short, obnoxious kid, she wanted to prove herself somehow. Maybe if she demonstrated that she could do normal kid things, he wouldn't be such a jerk and they could maybe try to assemble related to a friendship. "I think I understand how it works now. One more!" She didn't actually, but she could hope! Maybe she'd luck out!

June's smug look was going nowhere. Especially seeing Yuri hunch over in shame. What a good feeling it was to be the victor~ So much so that June almost felt like cheering. But, he was more of a gentlemen than that. So he decided to just stick with his more arrogant comments. That was until he got a good look at her face. She was actually pink. Was it that embarrassing to lose? Well to June of course it was. He was a winner. For someone else to though? And when Yuri snapped at him to play again, something about her entranced him. Not for long though. "No," He replied simply. For some reason the boy didn't want to play again. Although he didn't know why, it could be because he didn't want to take the chance of losing this time. Yeah, that had to be it. "Your a hundred years to early to go up against me again," He said as he hopped of the stool and crossed his arms, "Maybe after you practice a little I'll play you again."

Yuri's mouth fell open slightly as June rejected her demand to play again. He couldn't just say no, could he? It's not like he'd lose anything by playing with her again, it was just a game, and he had gotten to win once already. Wasn't it fair that she could have another chance? She wasn't angry, perhaps a little irritated, but it was his cockiness that bothered her. "That doesn't make sense," she spoke up with a frown, turning on the stool so she was facing him. "I saw how you lost before." As she spoke, a small idea popped into her head, and a smile began to spread on her features. Sure, she was bad at playing, but that meant that really anyone could win against her. Even though it sucked to admit it, even in her private thoughts, she wasn't exactly a strong opponent in any respect. But maybe, just maybe, she was beginning to figure this kid out. Enough to understand why he was so aggressive, at least. "Maybe... you're just scared that I'll beat you?" she asked, a small twinkle in her eye. She was probably causing more damage than progress, but she couldn't help it. It just slipped out of her mouth!

"That has nothing to do with this!" June snapped back after her first comment. The game was rigged obviously. So him losing before had nothing to do with her losing. And besides, why was she being such a brat about it? He was nice enough to save her the humiliation! What an ungrateful kid. To disrespect someone as kind and benevolent as him. The boy scowled. Even after he was trying to be her friend, she wasn't worth it. Especially after saying that of all things! "Who the hell is scared of losing?!?" He yelled even louder. Not caring one bit that he was in public. June wasn't going to let some uptight girl tell him off like this. No one ever spoke to him like this. He was entitled. He was always kind to everybody, that's why they should be that way to him. Treat others the way you want to be treated right? So why was she denying his kindness with such rude sayings? He clenched his teeth, like always, and moved his face right in front of hers, "Don't just assume things and just keep your mouth shut!"

Yuri would have been lying if she had said that she hadn't expected June to get angry. Even though they had only encountered each other a few times, she could at least tell that he had a bit of a temper, to put it lightly. Considering most of their encounters had ended with him in a foul mood, anyone could have seen where this was going. But she was startled by the volume of his annoyance this time, and she glanced around nervously, hoping that whomever was working at the movie theater wouldn't come over and kick them out, or worse, yell at them. Did she regret speaking out? Not necessarily, though she wished she could go ten minutes without him blowing up at her. She really was trying very hard to make a friend, as he was the only kid her age she had met. (There was Junior at the tomato festival, but she had never thought to go up and talk to him. Quiet people like that easily fell under her radar.)
As June shoved his face close to hers (as well as he could, considering how much taller Yuri was than him) the dark haired girl frowned slightly and looked down at him. "I was just teasing," she protested softly. Sometimes it just seemed like too much work, it wasn't fun. "Sorry if I made you mad, but it wasn't like I was being serious or anything..." She looked off to the side at the other games before letting out a small, forlorn sigh and taking a step back. He was annoying and she honestly didn't know why she was trying so hard to make him like her, but for some reason, the idea that he didn't like her and thought she was a pest was much too lonely for her to accept. Perhaps that was why she hadn't snapped right back and stomped home. Even if she wasn't having fun at that moment, it was better than having to sit all by herself in that big, empty house.
