User ImageOphelia sneezed. With slightly baggy eyes, she realized today was not going to be a very good day. Because of her tea, the reaper is prone to sickness. Whether by spell or simply because she loves to sing in the rain wearing next to nothing, Ophelia is often sick.

And lucky her, she had just run out of cold medicine. Trudging along, she decided to wear an oversized jacket and a wool scarf today. Though she still had her shorts and heels on. Does she even own a pair of pants or sneakers? User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. With her was her star purufu, Paopu, who floated whimsically beside her. Why did she bring it? It's cute..duh. Plus it could help hold the bag on the way back home. She was already feeling pretty weak just walking here.

Covering her mouth with a long sleeve to cough, she adjusted the volume on her mp3 player. Probably the thing she hated most about being sick was that loud music gave her some nasty headaches.

Shoving her hands in her pockets, she began walking towards the pharmacy, hoping they were well-stocked with all manner of supplies she might need for her cold.

User Image It had been a rather dreary evening, that much was true, however Philemon Menniadis couldn't find it in himself to stay home and simply read his book in the quiet while enjoying the pleasant music created by the droplets of rain that smashed against the windows to his home like rather suicidal parachuters. On the other hand he had clearly nowhere else to be otherwise he would have ran there as fast as he could, recklessly so, through the rain if only to escape the restlessness that ate him away.

Therefore, the cure was only one; and it was a perfectly simple solution. All he had to do was get up from the couch where he had been sitting for what seemed to him almost the entire day -shoving Desmond off in the process, because the furry critter had lodged itself comfortably on his lap and sleeping peacefully, blissfully unaware. The next step was to find his uniform, which he had washed only the night before and hung it inside to dry, wear it, make sure his tie was properly fixed in its place -because a student shouldn't really look sloppy, should they?- and go to fetch his shoes. This proved to be somewhat of an ordeal since -in the meantime- the naughty Alchemia had somehow figured it would be nice if he snatched them so his master couldn't leave the house. In that manner he spent several more minutes chasing Desmond around the house -managing to trip himself thrice and accidentally hit a wall- and when he finally took his shoes back and seized control of the situation he took to scolding Desmond who innocently looked up at him grinning whimsically. Unable to do much about it Phil dismissed him, sending him back in his card before telling him that he was grounded for the rest of the day.

Sadly all this tripping -and his hitting the wall particularly- had caused him a terrible headache and he had ran out of pain relievers. Wondering why Desmond had to be such a difficult case he walked out of his house muttering aloud, locking the door behind him only to remember he had forgotten his umbrella inside.

With this and that he, at some point, managed to make his way to the street, protected under the semi-transparent dome of his umbrella. The sound of the droplets as they mashed themselves violently against the fabric usually had a soothing quality about them however now they only helped to make his headache worse. At least the pharmacy wasn't all that far away, he thought while smiling -with a hint of bitterness- to himself.

The pharmacist was nice as always, and gladly handed him his medicine when he explained what exactly had happened, although she joked about how Phil always managed to get himself into what she called 'freak accidents'. Phil found the need to laugh awkwardly as he paid for his medication and apologized for always worrying her so much. As if his twin wasn't enough... He stayed and chatted with her for a while considering there were little to no customers on such a rainy day so Phil thought she'd be lonely. He was about to leave when, while opening the door he almost hit a girl who was about to walk in with it.

"Ah! E-Excuse me!" he exclaimed, thinking he had hit her for sure "A-Are you alright? You're not hurt, are you?" she didn't seem too well -although that might have not been his fault considering she was coming to a pharmacy- but he couldn't help but worry. Not everyone had his own tolerance when it came to pain, after all. His own had a lot of time to grow strong considering the frequency in which he managed to hurt himself.

Raining. Why did it have to be raining. Won't that just make her sickness worse? Now she really regretting not wearing her one pair of pants today. Or at least putting a pair of stocking on under her shorts. Or boots. She should have worn boots. Mumbling these things to herself as she tip-toed around the puddles, she coughed a few more times, not bothering to cover her mouth because noone was around at that moment.

Ophelia stared at the ground, the rain puddles reflecting the gray clouds above. Their images rippling as the pools are bombarded with raindrops. Sighing, she absent-mindedly made her way to the pharmacy. She'd been there many times, so the route was practically muscle memory. Humming the song that played from the headphones around her neck, she pulled one hand out of her pockets as she neared the pharmacy door. Reaching up to open it, she almost jumped out of her heels when it opened first. It knocked her hand away but luckily she was far enough away where it wouldn't hit her in the face, or something. No need to make headaches worse. Paopu trilled and perched on her shoulder at her reaction to the door, blinking in its direction.

Lethargically, she looked up to see the boy on the other side of the doorway. Did he say something? Oh, right.."Umm..I'm not hurt..but I'm sick.." she said in a slightly nasally voice due to her cold. "You might catch it too so you probably shouldn't get to close" she added with a weak giggle. She barely got the sentence off before falling into a sneezing fit, covering her mouth with an oversized sleeve and turning away into the rain. Paopu jumped off her shoulder and onto the boy's head, as if fleeing her sneeze. Apparently the alchemia had sense enough to avoid sickness as well.

Was Philemon ever grateful that his luck was something other than 'bad' for a change. He wouldn't really be able to apologize enough if he had actually hit the poor girl or anything. Not to mention she really, honestly, truly didn't look well at all. His eyebrows arched into a pair of worried bows as he looked. The symptoms were unmistakable and even if she hadn't mentioned it, it was easy to identify the common cold from other kinds of diseases. Phil had seen it happen many a time, what with so many siblings, not mention himself. When he was younger his mother would always try to force them to down that foul-tasting oil that was supposed to protect them from the flu, but of course it did little to help them go through the winter unharmed. Too many people in a single house was the obvious explanation.

"Ah, no~" he chuckled softly. "Don't worry, it okay. I'll be fine." he tried to reassure her, a smile on his face as he nodded his head to underline the spoken words "Did you know there are better medicine for the cold than what they can sell you in a Pharmacy? If I may suggest, you should really try brewing a herbal tea out of peppermint, yarrow and elderberry. It should relieve your cold symptoms really fast if you drink it hot... then again it might not be very much to your taste and-" he paused and blinked realising he was probably talking very fast and the girl didn't really know him -in the same manner he didn't, because he couldn't recall seeing her anytime before- and she might think it was terribly intrusive of him, to be forcing all those questions at her. "Ah, there I go again, talking on my own. Do excuse me-" he would have apologized further when the girl burst out on a sneezing fit. Phil blinked and stared, wide-eyed, hoping it would pass quickly.

As the small weight came to lodge itself on his head he looked up at the Alchemia and blinked before waving his hand a little as in greeting. "Hello to you too." he joked bringing his hand up to pet the little critter lightly not having the heart to remove it seeing how it appeared to be rather comfortable, perched there. Waiting until the girl was feeling a little better he returned to frowning thoughtfully. "Y-you should get some cold medicine." he pointed out the obvious. "I'm Philemon, but you can call me Phil. Your cold will get worse if you walk around like that and, and I know it's kinda sudden." he blushed a little -ever so slightly- enough that his cheeks got tinged a slight rosy hue however; to ask a stranger, a girl to top it off to come to his house without a good reason was strange and she might already think that he was somewhat of a weirdo. He was risking the danger of coming off as completely wrong. "Would you care to come to my place? It's pretty close and... uhh what I mean to say... if you don't want to I guess I can simply give you my jacket..." and he wondered if he would get into trouble for lending his uniform to somebody else, he really didn't know and quite honestly he didn't think that there should be a problem. "You really shouldn't walk around like this." he repeated, tucking either hands in his pocket to hide his nervousness.

Ophelia only vaguely heard something about tea. Tea...tea sounds good. Nice...warm tea. Jeez, I could really use a nap...she thought, holding a hand to her head to feel her temperature rising despite the cold weather. She wondered if she should have just sent Paopu to get the medicine and stayed at home to rest. Then again, her Star Purufu probably wouldn't even make it to the pharmacy without being distracted. Not to mention, would the cashier even accept money from an Alchemia?

The reaper smiled weakly at the boy as he told her the obvious. What did he think she was there for? And Philemon? What an odd name, I'll give him a new o-is he blushing?..nah he can't be.. she thought. And yet the thought of him blushing made her cheeks burn. Or was that her cold? She couldn't tell, but looking up, she took a good look at the guy for the first time. He was pretty cute..though..that Makai uniform. He's at least a year or two younger than her then. Ah whatever..

Paopu trilled at the touch of Phil's hand and wrapped himself around his neck as a sort of scarf. Ophelia smiled at her Alchemia, as naiive as the creature was, she decided if Paopu liked him, he can't be that bad.

"I'll buy some medicine first..then we'll go to your place." she muttered. The words felt awkward, and she pulled up her hood to hide her reddened cheeks as she carefully passed Phil, trying not to brush against him. Walking over to the shelves, she grabbed the brand of cold medicine she normally got. Naturally it was a cheaper brand, but it did it's job well enough. She handed over the money for it to the cashier, still keeping her distance, and held the bag around her wrist. She smiled weakly at Phil before saying, "Shall we go?" and coughing twice as she left the pharmacy.

Well, at the very least his intentions were well-received. Sometime, just sometimes, girls would get offended by his overly friendly behaviour but, well, all he was trying to do was help, be of service, that kind of thing. And yet they simply took it and twisted around in all the wrong ways imaginable. Why was it that boys had more tolerance to this kind of thing? Was it because they were feeling safe? Phil really couldn't understand -not would he anytime in the near future anyway- But like, what was he? On a winning luck streak? It was rare and moreover welcome. Maybe he should try gambling while he was at it, then again, point in case, what in the world was he thinking, standing there like an idiot doing nothing in particular but gathering weird thoughts?

He found himself laughing when the Alchemia wrapped itself around him like a scarf. Why couldn't his Desmond be as cute too, always causing trouble... "Ah~ you're so cute!" he found himself exclaiming. He really did find the Purufu enjoyable, just like an adorable cuddly pet and he could bet that its relationship with its master was good too and he suddenly felt like moping dramatically -complete with heading to a corner, adjusting the lighting and cursing his luck out loud because the one Alchemia he picked had to be an odd one- but of course he didn't, the scene was pretty amusing when played in his head, regardless.

"Y-yes." he found himself agreeing, nodding his head to underline the statement chasing after Ophelia who had just exited the shop. It was a great help that his own head felt all that better now too, at least he wouldn't have to suffer the pounding every other step. "Please, come this way." he smiled and took the lead, opening his umbrella, the contraption forcing the metal skeleton to bloom, in order to shield them both from the semi-sleet. It was that cold kind of rain, cold and unforgiving and Phil didn't want for poor Ophelia's illness to get any worse. That could be bad, no matter what kinds of tea he could make for her to help with her condition; spiking fevers were hard to deal with. "Don't worry, we won't be long my house just..." he lifted his free hand to point up ahead at the neatly paved path "Over there, see?" he completed his sentence making haste so they wouldn't stay outside any longer.

Once he had made it to the front door he quickly rummaged through his pockets for his keys and once he found them opened the door for Ophelia to come through, hoping -sincerely so- that Desmond wasn't expecting that he would be alone so he could sneak attack him while he waltzed in. "Welcome to my humble abode, oh you ill-gotten princess." he joked, a playful smile on his face as he stood aside so Ophelia could come in. The interior to his house wasn't exactly a palace, more like a rather humble, yet somewhat cozy home. "Please take a seat, make yourself at home and I'll go fetch you a blanket and make some of that tea I was talking about earlier." he nodded, removing his jacket to hang it as well as his shoes. "I will only be a minute." he noted and made to turn around so he could go to the second floor and bring a blanket downstairs when he remembered, paused and turned back. "Uhh... and don't, don't sit on the pink and purple striped hairy pillow." a ludicrous statement to make "It... it bites..." he completed his thought hopelessly and disappeared not to suffer any more of this humiliation.

Ophelia ducked under the umbrella, glad to be out of the rain. She felt soaked to the bone. Huddled underneath the portable shelter, Ophelia's eyes glanced everywhere but Phil's direction. Despite her normally outgoing nature, she'd never been this close to a guy before. Despite normally having an air of bravery, the reaper felt incredibly shy. And despite Phil being two years younger than her, she felt her cheeks burning like a schoolgirl crush. She really hoped it was just her fever. Or that it could pass off as her fever. How embarrassing..

"M-my name is Ophelia Thanos, by the way." she mentioned, feeling a little guilty for not introducing herself earlier. She never did have much knack for manners.

She smiled at the sight of his house. Warmth, at last~ She laughed at being called a princess, nervously patting Phil on the back. Though her pat's were a little more like 'slaps'. She watched him hang up his jacket and looked at her own jacket, limp and dripping with rainwater. Taking it off, she hung it up next to his. She also took off her scarf, as that was pretty wet too. Finally, she followed suite and left her heels at the door, padding over to the couch. At least her top and shorts weren't that wet.. But she really regretted not wearing more. Phil will probably think she works the corners..It's not her faul--yes it is. She chooses to wear these things. Mentally sighing at herself, she smiled at him as he walked up the stairs, Paopu still draped around his neck. "That would be great~" she called after him, feeling a little dizzy from the walk. Turning around, she barely heard something about a striped pillow. Did he say hairy? Not paying attention and just wanting to rest, she collapsed onto the couch....right on top of said 'pillow'.

Phil glanced sideways at the girl a couple times. Her face seemed flushed and if he weren't worried enough about her health condition he might have realized that she shouldn't have a fever high enough to be blushing as fiercely, but alas he was unable to notice anything for the time's being and remained painfully oblivious.

"That's a beautiful name." he smiled brightly. It sounded like the name some kind of fairy or nymph would have, then again he thought of many crazy things. He thought about it some more, turning the sound around in his head until "Your name has the same sound as mine." Phil spoke those words without thinking. "Funny." he chuckled softly, bringing one hand up to cover his mouth, if nothing to be polite, and also to push his glasses up his nose as he did. "It's the same sound." he paused to explain in case Ophelia didn't get it, "as in O-phel-ia." a simple, rather dull observation to make, he should say.

It was a good thing that at least his wardrobes were kept in a certain order, otherwise it would take him a while to figure out where exactly he kept those blankets of his. Picking one that felt soft and welcoming to the touch he hurried back down and yet no matter how efficiently fast he may have been there was absolutely no way to stop the catastrophe from occurring.

It had been a favourite pastime of Desmond's for a rather long while. He'd sit there, unmoving, calming his breathing down so his back wouldn't shake, head, wings and limbs pulled close so he would practically curl into a ball, covered by his tails that make him look much like what Philemon described him to be. A pink and purple striped pillow. Maybe a little hairier than it should, but accommodating all the same. So, he would sit there until somebody else would try to sit on him, at which case he'd turn and bite them or scare them grinning with his mouth full of sharp teeth. Of course... this time it didn't go as smoothly, nor as badly as Phil had anticipated. The way Ophelia plopped on him so suddenly he didn't have any time to turn or anything like that. On the contrary he was squeezed uncomfortably underneath her and only managed to make a small noise that sounded like a squeak, trying to crawl out of that point with what little power he had.

Philemon had to try very hard as he went over to the couch in order not to laugh. There was, in the end, someone who had managed to best that little devil in his own game, accidentally too. Then, after feeling positively calmer he noticed what Ophelia was wearing and instead of thinking what every boy who respected himself at the very least would think he became... excessively worried about her condition and the cause of it (who went around in so little clothing after all?) -at least he tried to convince himself that this was all it was and his face wasn't flushed because of the clothing itself (or the lack of it)- and spreading the blanket to cover her up he managed to stutter out a faint "You should dress a little warmer now that you're cold." moving backwards and taking a deep breath in an failed attempt to pull himself together he sighed, deciding that Desmond should also be spared out of his misery. "A-Also, you should maybe, if you want, sit a little to your left? I think you might be suffocating my Alchemia." he laughed awkwardly "Serves him right for trying to be mean to guests though." saying that he moved to the back of the single, united room that served as both the kitchen and living room to prepare the herbal tea for Ophelia's cold.

Sometimes he was only so glad that he was interested in medicine to the extent he was. If he didn't he wouldn't be able to help people and helping people -even randomly like that, even people he knew less than a few hours- felt wonderful, that much was true, at least to him.

"I hope you're not uncomfortable, this being a stranger's house and all..." he mumbled turning around in the direction of the living room while waiting for the water to boil.

F-fairy? Nymph? Ophelia thought to herself, imagining herself with light green skin, leafy hair, or even butterfly wings. She saw little fairies flying around her--she must be hallucinating. Is this fever getting worse? She swore she heard a squeak, and felt something squirm beneath her. Must be her imagination. Luckily, Phil returned with the blanket, and she pulled snugly around her.

Then with Phil's words, she realized she wasn't going crazy! Well, about the fairies, maybe. But hurriedly moving to her left, she freed the poor Alchemia and watched the pudding monster struggle out. Paopu unwrapped itself from Phil's neck as he went to the kitchen and proceeded to sniff the pudding monster curiously. Ophelia managed to whisper out a "Sorry, little guy" before leaning against an arm rest.

"I'm not..uncomfortable." she lied. Being in a guy's house, even if the guy was cute and polite, was completely nerve-wracking. But she had the excuse of illness to cover up any signs of it. She wrapped the blanket closer around her, enjoying the smell of detergent it had. It made her feel calm as she waited for the tea.

"So you have a pudding monster too?" she asked, oblivious to the fact that she hinted at her obsession with Alchemia. "What's its name?" she added, hoping to keep the conversation going to avoid those awkward, awkward silences.

Philemon scratched the back of his neck awkwardly watching Desmond crawl out of his hold. He still thought it served the little devil right. He should think twice about posing as a pillow from now on. Desmond was not very happy about being sat on but he appeared to recover pretty fast, stretching his wings, ruffling his tails and curiously perking his ears as he stared back at the equally curious Purufu before gifting it with a wide, either ominous or mischievous smile full of sharp teeth. Phil felt like planting his face in the kitchen's counter to hide, silently cursing the disobedient Alchemia and his antics but he didn't, in fear of coming off as infinitely... strange.

"I'm glad..." Phil smiled a little as he turned to measure the herbs to put in the teapot seeing how the water was almost ready. He hadn't meant to inconvenience Ophelia or make her uncomfortable in any way and something told him that her answer aside deep down she was feeling almost as awkward as he was. Of course he was rather used to the feeling himself, it not being the first time he had invited a stranger in his home as he firmly believed that he wasn't the only one who thought that people who just wanted to help others for the sake of helping them without expecting something in return existed.

His ingredients finally measured, Phil moved to pour the water in the teapot before carrying it to the table with a set of teacups for the warm drink to be served in. "It just has to sit for a few minutes now." he assured Ophelia as he moved back to see if there were any cookies left to offer his guest. He was never sure of the available quantity seeing how Desmond had a knack for stealing them when he wasn't looking. Thankfully this once he had been kind enough not to touch the jar -and Phil ruefully noted that it was probably because he had been more interested in his shoes to begin with.

"Eh?" he paused to wonder about the pudding monster for a second before realizing that she was talking about Desmond. "Y-Yeah." he sighed. "More like my only Alchemia, really." Phil admitted carrying the plate he had served the cookies in to place it on the table and making haste to offer Desmond one in advance so he wouldn't have to make a scene with stealing again. The Alchemia nibbled solemnly on it before -surprisingly so- offering one the still intact other half to the star Purufu still sitting on the couch. "His name is Desmond." Phil said, a small smile playing on his lips for another time at the realization that his Alchemia maybe wasn't a complete monster in the end -an ironic observation considering his species-. "Other than this little one" he motioned over at Paopu "Do I get it you have one too?" that was rather nice, maybe it was a little more kind than his own little devil. "What's yours like?" he question, happy to have a common subject to talk about.

Ophelia managed to utter a "Thank you" as she picked up one of the teacups to warm her hands with. She blew on the surface gently, hoping to speed up the cooling process. The herbal scent was enough to help clear up her sinuses a tad as well.

Paopu trilled as Desmond offered it a piece of his cookie. Doing another aerial trick, it accepted the snack and began to munch on it ecstatically.

Ophelia chuckled nervously at his inquiry about -more- of her Alchemia. She can't let him know about the -collection- that was growing in her drawer. "Yep. I have a pudding monster too, but it's probably more ill-behaved than Desmond. I usually keep it in its card just to keep it out of my hair!" she said, hoping he wouldn't realize her secret obsession. If that happened, he'd probably think she was a freak of some sort.

Immediately, she tried to change the subject. "So you go to Makai, right? How's that going for you?"
PostPosted: Mon Jul 11, 2011 2:15 am

Philemon picked up his own cup as he sat himself down on the sole armchair across the couch so he wouldn't make the poor girl uncomfortable with sitting too close; that and Desmond didn't seem very keen on moving from his spot and he wasn't in the mood to chase him off right now. He brought the cup closer to his face and savoured the strong, aromatic herbal scent that the warm liquid gave off abundantly. Despite knowing full well that if he drank too early he was going to burn his tongue he did so anyway, if nothing to make sure that the drink tasted nice. He winced a little at the temperature but other than that found it fine and so he smiled, once more.

"Ouch, you mean all pudding monsters have personality issues?" he sighed, at least it wasn't just Desmond. Knowing that it was a species thing made him feel a little better than if it had simply been a problem case, then again point in case, out of all Alchemia, why did he have to pick the problem species all the same. "Ah, I should have asked for the instruction manual when I got him." he exasperated in a dramatic manner played more for laughs than anything else. "If I ever need to get another Alchemia, for any reason, please teach me how to pick one as tolerable as Paopu." he bowed his head as in pleading before stopping to consider Ophelia's question.

He fell in silence for a moment trying to find the best answer to give in such a situation. "Hmmm, not too bad, I guess." he shrugged softly as if he wasn't sure about the statement without turning it down all the same. "I've been postponing my trial at the grave under the excuse of more and more studying all the time." he chuckled awkwardly. "Even my brother graduated before me, and I was the one tutoring him and all..." there was a slightly bitterness hidden in those words even though he smiled a helpless smile as he spoke them, a little more quietly than before. He shrugged, leaving it be, and went on. "How about you? I can see that you've already graduated and all." he beamed "How's your life as a witch going? Decided what you want to do next?" he questioned, oblivious to the fact Ophelia might already have. Of course she was staying in the academy town so he had no way of knowing, but even he was making plans, more or less, of staying in that place. He had become rather fond of it, after all.

"I guess.." Ophelia muttered, thinking about hers. "Mine's just a sucker for attention though. Give it a good scratch behind the ear and it'll be your best friend forever." she added, with a soft smile on her face.

"Most purufus i've seen are pretty whimsical creatures, friendly enough, and like dogs, no offense, they love to please their master. Right, Paopu?" she said, turning her head slightly towards her Alchemia. Paopu trilled and barrel-rolled over towards Ophelia, breaking off a piece of it's share of cookie and setting it on the reaper's shoulder. Smiling, Ophelia took it and popped it in her mouth, absent-mindedly brushing the crumbs off.

"Postponing it isn't too bad, especially for studying. I'm sure you'll get a rare ingredient on your first try when you do. No doubt." she smiled, her eyes feeling a little heavy. She blew at her tea once more before taking a sip. Just a tad hot, but that was just as well, since it would help clear up her head.

"Maybe your brother's just one of those kids that bloom early and settle out. You'll catch up to him...I always find kids with siblings lucky, like they'll always have someone, you know?" she said softly, mostly thinking aloud. At the mentioning of her life as a "witch", she hesitated. She didn't want to lie to the poor boy, he was so kind to her! But the higher-up reapers were always sort of shady...the organization as a whole was shady...And being a fledgling reaper, she didn't exactly want to step on any toes and decided to play it safe.

"Life after Makai has been good. I've been honing my skills mostly. Not sure where life will take me, though." she said, trying to be truthful without revealing the fact she was a reaper.

"What about you? What do you want to do in the future?" she asked after taking another sip of tea. She looked up with the question, meeting his eyes with genuine curiousity.

Philemon chuckled softly, casting a wary glance in Desmond's direction. He wasn't quite as sure that all his malicious deeds were only to be in the spotlight although half of them might as well as justify as such. As for the scratching... he usually didn't let people touch him unless he wanted to. "I... uhh... Desmond is just... pure evil, I fear." he shrugged watching the devious creature inconspicuously laying there on the couch, seemingly harmless. "Although I'm used to the rowdy ones." he finished whimsically, thinking about his brother. Sure enough he was used to it. The personality template at least.

"Makes sense." he decided wanting the Purufu interact with its environment and Ophelia. Surely, he looked a lot more like a friendly pet akin to a dog than Desmond did. Desmond was more like a cat; a very feral, very angry cat. "You sure know a lot about Alchemia." he noticed, bringing both hands on his lap. "That's great!" and he really did find it commendable, because Phil had no special skill of his own to boast about and he found mostly everything that other people did new and exciting.

He thought about getting a rare ingredient at the Trial as Ophelia said. Well, it would surely be very interesting. He hoped he could stumble across some rare medicinal plant of some sort, or the kind of herbs he couldn't just otherwise grow himself, buy or pick from the forests and grasslands. He knew, from what his brother had told him that there was an abundance of rare plantation growing in there, although some of it was dangerous just like many of the creatures that inhabited that place. "I really do hope I can get some really potent medicine." he mumbled rather awkwardly; to want to become a healer wasn't the manliest aspiration yet, of course. "As for Theo, I bet that's it. He was always the one rushing ahead without thinking twice." and he felt a little bitter saying that "It's no surprise he's the older twin." he joked. Of course he was more mature than Theo even if he was born second. "And we certainly did... have someone, that is, while growing up." he glanced to the side thinking how bizarre a statement it made although he should have been used to it by now. "I, uhh... you see... I have twelve siblings." he forced himself to grin knowing that most people usually got stunned at hearing the incredible amount of kids his mother had managed to deliver. "Are you an only child, Ophelia?" he found himself inquiring before he had any time to hold his tongue.

"That's nice too." he commented. "Having the luxury of going with the flow..." he explained, leaning backwards in his seating as Desmond climbed on his lap and lied still as if he wanted to nap; but Phil knew better than to try and stroke his fur. "I'm currently working in the Pharmacy." he nodded his head a little "I'd like to either take over or open my own at some point..." he explained. It was a plain dream, a tiny aspiration when compared to those of others, even his brother's who aspired to become a Blackheart, a prodigy among the Reapers -making him always so very very worried-. "I'm researching a way to create a potion to quell the Majin's hunger." he added. He usually had qualms about revealing that particular goal of his seeing how he had gotten into trouble for it before but he didn't feel like lying. "I-I know it's stupid..." he made haste to squeeze in just in case he needed to salvage something after all.

Ophelia chuckled softly, blushing with embarrassment that her love for alchemia was becoming so noticeable. But then again, he said such a thing was great. Was he just being polite? She didn't know him well enough to know the answer to that. Yet for some reason she felt the guy couldn't lie..

Ophelia's eyes widened slightly as he spoke of his sibling-s-. "Twelve siblings AND you're a twin?" she said, her voice surprisingly energetic despite feeling weak still. "Life must have been fun for you. Always full of excitement." she said, leaning her head back against the couch.

"Yeah..I don't have any brothers or sisters. And my parents aren't exactly the sugar-coated encouraging type..I really envy you, Phil." she said, staring at the ceiling. For a fleeting moment she felt like this sickness was truly taking its toll. How many guts is she going to spill to this guy? Whom she barely met, she might add. But sometimes its easier to talk to strangers about life's problems. And even boisterous Ophelia needed someone to talk to. The reaper took a good swig of the tea, it being cool enough to do so, and let out a nice, warm sigh. Her lungs and throat began to feel a bit less congested, and she took out the box of medicine from the pharmacy and took a dosage before she forgot.

She looked back down to Phil, smiling at his aspirations. Even he had specific goals. Ophelia was just a reaper. Doing her job. Living each day the same as the one before. Where was she headed? But Phil...to create a concoction that would satiate a majin's need for witch hearts? She grinned fantastically at the witchling.

"That's not stupid -at all-. I've noticed some of the other reapers are getting...I'm not sure whether it's cocky or overzealous...but they've been targeting dormant majin lately. And it bothers me that they still won't tell me why..How long do I have to be in the organization before I'm trea--awh s**t." she said, slapping a hand to her face. Paopu squeaked at the gesture and perched itself on Ophelia's head. There she goes, spilling all the secrets. She might as well tell him she plays dating sims all day while dressing up her Alchemia while she's at it.
