So, recently, before my Facebook was hacked, I had gotten invited to a facebook event called something similar to the title of this topic. The story behind it made me completely sick and angry. And, it made me realize that I'm yet again bitter in one more way, but that's aside the point. Basically.. what's your opinion on animal abuse? I'm not talking about giving your cat/dog a pat on the butt when they're bad or anything, but something that's mean, and intended to hurt the animal, not to punish. Below is the link to the story, and, if you're super sensitive(trust me, what they did was TERRIBLE and cruel beyond belief), I suggest you don't read it, instead, I'll tell you the story is about a pregnant woman in Brookesville FL, with her five and eight year old sons, who take baseball bats and kill one kitten, and one child slits its throat with a stick, and then drowns the dead body in the trashcan with water, who then beat the other kitten to the point of it having life threatening damage in a public park as a group of people just watch. A boy takes the kitten after they're done home, and they take it to the vet, and they name it Dexter, and the event is basically 'light a virtual healing candle' for him.

Myself, I'm JUST as disgusted with the people who stood there and watched two 8 week old kittens be tortured so badly. But, how do YOU feel about situations like this, worse than this, and not as bad as this?

You know you're in love when you can't fall asleep...
This almost made me cry... I love animals so much. This story reminded me of this commercial.
...because reality is finally better than your dreams...

I'm not at all violent, but if I saw that happening, I would have taken a baseball bat from the kid and given that woman a baseball bat abortion, it's THAT angering to me. 3:

Here's an update on how he's doing it from the clinic he's being treated at, gotten directly from their facebook:
Very happy to share the following update: He continues to eat on his own and after he makes a mess of himself by stepping in the food he is grooming his paws!! Over the weekend he started using the litterbox too!!! Now, here is the most exciting update.... he is very happy when following a little laser light toy! Yup, signs indicate that the little man can see it (or maybe shadows of it) when it's very close.... yay!!!! Again, can't stress enough that he has a long way to go BUT for now, he is progressing. Hope your Monday is going well, best wishes to all and keep all those paws crossed for our little furry fighter!! : )))

To be honest, Im afraid to click those links. Thats absolutely infuriating that someone could do that to another creature, especially a baby one! I fully support your "baseball bat abortion" idea >.<

Roxy Hazard To be honest, Im afraid to click those links. Thats absolutely infuriating that someone could do that to another creature, especially a baby one! I fully support your "baseball bat abortion" idea >.< The links both give the full story, and it is honestly that bad, which is why I provided a toned down, but still bad, story. There's no way to really say it in a 'nice' manner, because it's just that bad.

For someone with the word "immoral" in your username, you seem to be pretty sensitive to moral and ethical issues eh? I'm not going to say that things like this are commonplace here, but I do have to say that what people in the mainland consider animal abuse is stuff that happens all the time here especially up country and Wailuku side. Plus there's a goat slaughtered every other week by the Filipinos in the community and the occasional dog that gets eaten. Regardless, as to my opinion on this, I find it rather funny because, as you said, a group of people just sat around and watched as it happened in broad daylight. Now what does that tell you about society today? It tells me that in our society today, it's all well and good to talk about morality and righteousness but when it comes time to actually put your money where your mouth is, no one truly gives a damn.

Slaughtering a goat or eating a dog is different from beating two 8 week old kittens to get your anger out.

You're not only saving the cats, but really, imagine what kind of person you'd grow up to be if your mother encouraged you to kill kittens for fun, at a young age. Seriously, imagine it. I'd just hope that she was damaged enough afterwards that she couldn't burden the world with any more little sociopaths, later on, as I'm sure she'd do the same smashing job bringing up later children as she did these ones. I hope that the kids are young enough that they can be taken away and put in the hands of someone that isn't human garbage. They may yet have half a shot at becoming human beings, unlikely as it may sound.
