Sailor Maenalus sat on a park bench late at night, nursing new wounds. At her feet was what was left of a youma - dust. It hadn't been too big of a creature, but it was fast and it was nasty. It managed to scratch at her a few times and now she had cuts on her arms and even one on her cheek that extended from her temple to her jaw. That one was pretty shallow, though, so it was expected to heal up quickly. The senshi sighed and kicked at the dust one more time for good measure. She was so new to this senshi thing and she'd never really talked to anyone about it besides *********, the cat who awakened her. Oh, and Circe, but for some reason that conversation was a bit fuzzy in her memory...
She hung her head and watched as blood dripped into the dust and created a sort of paste. She grimaced and wiped away what she could with her glove. What she had learned in this time was that her costume would come back unripped and clean with a power up if she somehow dirtied or destroyed it in her last stint as a senshi. She just needed a mentor. A Mister Miyagi! Or a Miss. Or just someone to talk to for an evening.

Ask, and you shall receive.
Or something like that. Virgo appeared to have recently found her calling in mentoring White Moon senshi. Sort of like a superpowered alien soldier of love and justice who just happened to moonlight as a guidance counselor during careers week, which was not quite so ridiculous as it sounded at all. Point of fact was, every time she met a White Moon senshi lately she ended up dispensing some kind of advice. Whether it was Leto with her advice that senshi were meant to be beacons of light, or Themis who was worried his lack of battle prowess made him a lesser senshi, all she was doing was giving the good advice and trying to nudge them towards fighting the good fight. It was an alright occupation. She enjoyed it. Just not as much as she would enjoy having sloppy makeouts with her boyfriend, or something ridiculous like that.
In this case, though, she was heading out on patrol. Summer had hit at last, and she knew that meant she could step up her... well, her work. And help more senshi? Maybe. Especially newbie senshi.
On spotting the redheaded sailor, she immediately winced. There was nothing transparent about her uniform, so Virgo assumed she had to be a scout; she closed the distance between them quickly, and knelt down in front of the girl. "Hi," she said, a little shyly. "I'm Virgo. What happened? Youma?"

Maenalus flinched when the other senshi showed up, not because she was scared, but because she hadn't noticed for the life of her. Not even the energy signature that seemed twice as big as hers. Good thing it was a senshi instead of a bad guy. She sat up and stammered out, "Uh, yeah. Youma." She tried to wipe the blood off of her face. God, she looked like s**t, and the senshi, Virgo, in front of her looked so much better. Great first impression, Griffin. She then remembered her manners. "Oh, I'm Maenalus. Senshi of Mountains."
For some reason, though, the title and name just sounded... wrong. Like a kid saying they were Superman during pretend, but not even believing it. She rubbed at her scratch again, which only went to smear blood and reopen the wound that had been beginning to coagulate and spread the red. "I, ah, I'm not so good at this senshi thing yet."

She nodded, and apparently didn't think Maenalus was as ridiculous as a kid playing Superman. The evanescent veil made a good bandage, as she'd known from personal experience; so she tugged it off the top of her head and gently wrapped it around the re-opened wound. "It takes a little bit," she said, eyes downcast towards the injury. As always, the sight of blood brought a little bile to the back of her throat, green to the olive cast of her face.
Still, for such a translucent fabric it went opaque quick enough. It would disappear when Virgo henshined down, but until then it would put pressure on the injury and maybe get the bleeding to stop. "I'm the senshi of Innocence," she said, shifting to sit next to Maenalus on the bench. This place held plenty of memories for Soldier Virgo... here was where she'd met Obsidian. Nealite. She'd almost died a few hundred feet to their right, and she sighed as she settled her wrapped palms on her knees.
"Have you been patrolling alone," she asked, after casting around for another powered signature. None really notable, although there were a few clustered at the very edge of her 'sixth sense'. "That's rather dangerous, Maenalus, especially for a young senshi."
