Captain

At once, they were summoned. Wide-eyed teenagers and the occasional young adult, torn from whatever they had been doing and delivered en masse to the wide, mostly empty cavern. There was no preparing for that kind of summon. The only warning was a slight tightening of the stomach, as though someone was pulling inward on their bellybutton. Then, they were simply standing there, blinking up at the glowing eyes of that stubborn door.

Queen Beryl's assistance had been required to bring them all, but the Negaverse's ruler did not showed her face in the large cavern that housed the strange new door. She lent only her power, but never her presence. Not to something she had determined an utter disgrace. Her presence was not required here, and from the way the door's eyes burned more brightly with each appearing officer, it was not welcome, either. Tanzanite, who stood quietly in front of the massive door, smiled quietly at the thought. All the hate and loathing and condescension in the world could not close what had been opened. Not even Beryl's power could undo what had been done now, and soon the Negaverse would know.

They're not ready for this, Marthozite warned again, but the Youma Queen paid him no mind.

“We don't have a choice,” she spoke softly, and put the long dead General-King's voice out of her thoughts. Today was a day for change. Discovery. It was a day to remember who they were and what they fought for.

And what would become of everything they knew and loved if they failed to do so.

“Welcome,” she said once the last energy signature winked into existence in front of her, that two-tone voice echoing loudly throughout the room. Even the tall General-Queen was dwarfed by the pale stone that rose up behind her, her fully extended wings not even spanning a quarter of its width. Those burning eyes stared balefully down at them, and Tanzanite leaned back against the stone and ran her fingers gently across the surface. She murmured something quietly to it, perhaps some words of comfort, and the eyes dimmed as though some beast within had been momentarily soothed.

“Today is a very... special day,” she spoke, and there was a tone of awe in her voice as she looked upon the assembled officers. Her smile was soft, her expression surprisingly warm. Wherever Tanzanite had been that past week, she had come back full of a strange sense of joy.

“But I would not have anyone follow me without warning. Beyond this door there are dangers far worse than the senshi. Threats far greater than the Blood Moon Court could imagine. Those who choose to stay behind may report to Queen Beryl. I'm sure she can-”

Find a way to get them killed? Marthozite chuckled quietly, and Tanzanite paused as annoyance flashed momentarily over her features. Was he entirely incapable of shutting up?

“-put you to work. Those who choose to follow will find something worth risking their lives for.”

Tanzanite whispered a word, a language lost to her own memory but locked up tight in that of the Black Phoenix. Two syllables lit up the runes with a soft glow, and the doors began to swing inward. Beyond, there was only inky blackness, and a feeling.

A feeling of immense power.

“Those who choose to follow will find... answers. Answers to why we've given up our lives. Our freedom. Our...”

Humanity? Marthozite hissed, and it cut through her thoughts like a white-hot knife.

Tanzanite left the sentence unfinished, and waited for those assembled to make their choice.

In the end, it had to be their choice.

Captain Painite looked around the room in wonder. She hadn't been powered up, or doing anything Negaverse related.

And now she very much was both.

She looked up at door, which she felt even less sure about now than before, frowning critically at it. Her initial hopes of puppies and kittens waiting behind it had, of course, thoroughly vanished. Not even the strongest sense of irony in the universe could pull that one off.

She looked up when the General-Queen spoke, growing tense and standing respectfully taller. As tall as she could, at any rate. Dangers? Painite knew she hadn't liked that door. Worth risking their lives for?

Weren't they already doing that, for each other and their world?

Painite listened passively, light sea green eyes glistening thoughtfully. It made her wonder what was beyond those doors, certainly. She was a naturally curious person, but beyond that she was always seeking to better herself, to prove herself and to, now more than ever, serve her cause and her people. If this step was the step she needed to take to further that direction in her life, her 'career', then she wasn't going to hesitate to take it.

But she never was very good at thinking about consequences, particularly when she was excited about something. And the strange, terrifying air that filled the room, half from the door and half fueled by her fellow soldiers around her, certainly got her adrenaline moving.

"Well, I'm going to follow," she said to no one in particular, a confident smirk on her face.

Billy had been finishing up at a fast food burger joint when the tug came. Perfect timing. Because is he'd have had to of left his food he would have been pissed. Luckily he had time to find a place to safely become Bismuthite and answer that tug before it it had get violent about it. He remembered the first time he'd been summoned. This time...wasn't much better, but at least he knew what to expect.

Follow in to the unknown, or stay in the safety of the known? Bismuthite would not look like a coward and stay. His pride would not let him. That pride that now he was desperately trying to build back up - his one defense. The same defense that was killing so much more than just himself. That confidence, that arrogance that made him do stupid things. And all in the name of what? His image?
He'd go.....this was Tanzanite leading them. He had faith in this Queen - Unlike Beryl who he had not seen since they were all summoned that first battle in Elysion. He'd follow Tanzanite. She was the one that brought him to this point, after all.

And, he was also curious.

"I, too, will follow. As if there was ever any question about that," the captain said with all the confidence and bravado in the world. A smirk of his own played on his face, and a slight glisten to his eyes.

If nothing else it would be....a good distraction.

The only warning Claudia got before she was pulled away from her sleeping Grandmother's side was a slight tug but it was enough. She made the transition to Zanazziite as quickly as she could, she remembered the last time she had been summoned, she'd been in the shower. Now that had been embarrassing.

Landing in what she had come to call the Door Room she looked around at all the other faces popping up. Carefully, before too many showed up, she pushed her way towards the front, though she was careful not to push her way past the Captains and Generals. She had learned to respect the chain of command.

It wasn't long before the Youma Queen was speaking and Zanazziite was staring at her with rapt eyes, one hand on the pouch that held her crystal. For a moment a thought whispered through her brain reminding her to get the crystal set into some kind of jewelry so she could actually wear it, but she pushed the thought away. That wasn't important right now, Tanzanite and the door in front of them was.

As the General-Queen went on about the dangers the Lieutenant's violet eyes widened. She had been at the rescue, she'd seen some of what the Blood Moon Court did, was she brave enough to face things that were even worse? She found her eyes sliding to Arm and she felt some of the fear melt away. It wasn't like they were going in there alone.

She gasped as the door finally opened and straining her eyes she tried to see inside, but wasn't able to decipher a thing. Just pure blackness. And then she was hit by just how strong the energy was inside. It was stronger than the door had felt unopened.

Steeling herself she stepped forwards, she was about to declare her willingness to go, but she heard Painite's voice first. Glancing in her direction she smiled at her captain, before looking back to the Youma Queen. "I will follow as well."

Scheelite had been there, pacing up and down as the ranks assembled simply because he couldn't sit still. But as soon as Tanzanite's voice was heard over the gathering commotion Scheelite drew to a halt and turned his full attention on the General Queen.

To follow, past the crazy door that had at one point kicked him clear across the room?

Or...to stay, and hope to god Beryl didn't give them some horrible chores.

.....

He was definitely going. No amount of horrors worse than they had ever encountered could deter him from that.
Unless it has blood, right? Heh. The blonde gave a shudder at the mere thought of blood, but still voiced his decision.

"I'll follow you anywhere General Queen, just lead the way!"

It was never a welcome feeling to be ripped out of reality and transplanted elsewhere through no will of her own, but as Alkaid stared up at the glowing eyes of the stone door she felt particularly wary. The energy radiating from it was no less, the ominous feeling that crawled over her skin had not lessened in the week that had passed since she first laid eyes on it, and the only thing that convinced her it would not swallow her into oblivion the moment it got a choice was the tall, imposing figure of her General-Queen standing before it.

Her faith in Tanzanite's leadership was unwavering, unlike the Queen she had come to recognize as a figurehead. This wasn't about her comfort, or her fear, or her safety - this was the Negaverse and she would do as she always had and walk proudly in Tanzanite's wake.

Her eyes swung down from where they had been all but hypnotized by the great, glowing orbs perched over the entrance to the darkness. They swung down and landed on Tanzanite and, without a moment of hesitation, she stepped forward and away from the group of soldiers - closer to the empty blackness of the door and closer to her General-Queen.

She said nothing, just simply lifted her head and focused her eyes on her leader without the smallest question in those bright irises. She had all the faith in the world that the new, strong aura behind her would follow suit.

Vicky Collins had been attempting to cook dinner for Blake when she felt the tug. She had just enough thought and time to turn the stove off before she disappeared. Absently she hoped her, well he wasn't her boyfriend, but she wasn't sure what to call him- she hoped Blake wouldn't notice her sudden disappearance, having no idea he himself was being summoned as well.

Ending up in the room she had seen for the first time a week ago she looked around. What was going on? Crossing her arms over her chest she examined the room, her eyes finally coming to land on the door. It was just as large and foreboding as she remembered. Honestly she didn't really want to have anything to do with it, but it wasn't like she could turn tail and run, what kind of reputation would that give her?

Petalite listened to the General-Queen, eyes not being able to decide if they wanted to look at her or the door and so slid in between the two. Her words made a chill run down her spine and she bit her lower lip. Suddenly she wished Blake were there, even though she knew it wasn't possible. At least with him around she had someone to hide behind protect her.

In the end Petal refused to look like a coward, so with more bravado than she actually felt she moved forwards. "I'm in" Sapphire eyes glanced to the others who had decided to go, pausing on a bluenette. There was a tug of a memory, but she looked away from the other Lieutenant. She didn't need to be remembering girls with blue hair.

Ashley had been doing something she hadn't truly been able to indulge in for some time now - now since she had taken Kaia to do this very thing. Shopping. She needed more skirts. Always needed more cute skirts, really.

She'd been in the far back of the store when an unseen hand took hold of her stomach and yanked - and it was Captain Fluorite who stood in subspace, confused and looking borderline motion-sick.

Hopefully Laureen hadn't seen a damn thing - she'd been so far back in the store... At at least she hadn't been in the dressing room trying on skirts. That would have been embarrassing.

She was still somewhat struggling with her gag reflex when Tanzanite started to speak. Worse than the senshi ? Worse than what the Blood Moon Court had done ? It scared her, Of course that scared her. She didn't want to think what was worse than carrying the dead body of one of their own a few weeks into her own career, so to say.

But she didn't want to look like a coward. She'd handled that - she could handle worse. She hoped.

Beryl... meant nothing for her, truly. She had never seen the queen, as she had not been there for Elysion. The only queen she had known was... Well, Tanzanite.

She could not back down. Not after she had been so recently promoted. Not after all that had been done for her. Fluorite weaved her way around the gathered crowd, coming to stand near her general.

"By your leave, General Queen." She'd spoken so softly that she wasn't even sure Tanzanite had even heard.

The other half of the mix-matched siblings popped in a few seconds after his sister - looking much like a drenched poodle. Because he was, in fact, drenched.

He'd been yanked in the middle of a pool session, and what would have normally been a minor wet annoyance had become a very long annoyance as he became Alunite in-transit.

He didn't know hair magically stayed wet when it magically grew around 5 feet in half a second.

At least he wasn't outright dripping all over the place.

He listened as Tanzanite spoke, and really, Alunite didn't see himself as having much of a choice in the matter. He had no rank to pull, and he had to want to stay back and see how Beryl treated the senshi in her service.

And, well, he remembered hand in chest. A little to well, actually.

"Well then." He looked sideways to the closest thing he had to a general, really, through he was careful to keep his wet ponytail from smacking right into Zinkenite. "To infinity and beyond, I guess ?"

It was the door again. He knew it was dangerous - he and Uranophane had been blasted away from it in front of an audience when they tried to overlook the aura it gave off. He'd put it out of his mind and assumed someone else would deal with it and the consequences of its sudden appearance.

'Someone else' had turned out to be everyone.

General Hematite stepped forward as well and stood beside Alkaid, to the chorus of a couple of clanks of his new armor. He'd seen the rise and fall of the leadership in the Negaverse, a silent spectator. But Tanzanite was the only one he'd known since before she had assumed power, and he could relate to that. He could relate to knowing, seeing with his own eyes, that she'd started off like he had. A second chance was a second chance, and he'd throw his lot in with her and trust she'd been right about promoting him. Plus, if Alkaid was going to walk right into danger, he didn't have a choice about this anyway.

Being pulled into the subspace so suddenly and randomly was always inconvenient at the best of times.. at least this time she was not in the shower, so she would not need to wait to power down later.

This time, however, she was sitting down watching tv. Chewing popcorn as she felt the pull, she choked down the remains of the crunchy food a second after landing (and stumbling) onto her feet on the cold crystalin floor. It took effort to keep her food down, but thankfully she had.

Only after a moments wonder, did she turn to see where they were, only to find the warm, dark glow of the fire dancing above the frame.

Here again...? Fayalite had to keep herself from saying, glancing around and finding a few familiar faces before her eyes settled on the general queen before the door.

Something big was happening...big changes, good changes. She was never one to deny change, embrace it really. "Beam me up, Scotty." Blindly, but she would follow.

Lyra too was caught off guard, this was her first time feeling the pulling sensation into the dark kingdom. It felt as if a fishing line was hooked behind her naval, and with a rather forceful YANK she soon found herself spiraling down. Down and down... until she hit the darkness, it plastering itself over her skin as she felt her outfit shift and her hair grow longer behind her. She was used to shifting herself, but this forcefulness was a new experience for the red head.

Landing on her feet, knee's buckling, she fell to one knee, looking almost as if kneeling. Heavy breathing followed, with wide eyes as she took in the mass group of people around her. A massive compilation of Auras and power, overshadowed only by what they were standing before... and the one standing in front of that very door. Lifting herself to her knee's as the purple haired woman spoke, moving quickly to stand next to a few familiar faces- Alunite and Zinkenite.

She waited for a few others to speak, she felt like she should not be the first...not the last. "I too will go."

He made a sharp sound deep in his throat, quick and pointed in its amusement, half startled at the summons but not entirely. What surprise there was was for the summons and not whom was the face behind it, or the one they saw at least. He thought she must have known something of the door when it appeared but he didn't know -what- or why.

Who to follow, who to follow and to what end, that was the question of the hour. Who... best represented what they all ultimately served... the Dark Kingdom. Beryl, whom had been conspicuous in her absence, or Tanzinite, whom had endured so much, whom at least seemed more inclined to listen at times to the 'smaller voices' such as his own.

No... between Beryl and Tanzinite... it was a careful choice but not an unfounded one. She, he felt best represented their Dark Kingdom, at least in the hear and now. He gave a small careful nod.

"I await your orders General-Queen."

The door had brought pain, pain brought clarity...clarity brought answers... he always... wanted answers.

Crimson eyes quickly ran over the room, trying to gain his bearings and still pay attention to the main event, where his General Queen now stood. Her intimidating figure demanded their full attention and the strange stone that stand behind her only drew him in deeper. Something about the energy signature of the room and the strange door gave him chills. Esperite did his best to remain calm, almost numb as he continued to examine his surroundings. This cavern possessed its own unique presence, one strong enough to remain noticeable amidst a room full of agents of the Negaverse. A feat that even Esperite had to admire. He felt envious of the impressive presence all around him as the lieutenant often hoped for such power. Clenching his fist, he continued to watch the spectacle before him.

Keeping his focus center stage, the Youma Queen's words rang out throughout the cavern. Some seemed memorized while others couldn't be bothered. Her offer for the truth was admittedly very enticing, if not impossible to turn down. Often had he wondered about their mission and it's endgame. However, Esperite did his best to absorb the information and the predicament placed before him without showing any sign of eagerness or any other childish emotion. Others were far too eager for his taste, but he kept his disdain to himself and simply made his choice clear while doing his best to stay calm. Esperite only raised his voice slightly, but made sure his words were heard.

"I'll take you up on that offer. Let's see what lies beyond this mysterious door."

It had been two years since the first time Torbernite had been summoned, or rather, requested in the line of so-called duty. And though he had only clued in to the last few words of the now General-Queen Tanzanite, someone with all power and no familiarity, it did not take him long to recognize how painfully few familiar faces stood out. There were so many new faces, no, people who he did not recognize, those who came in, served they time, and became abruptly, no more.

The Negaverse captain took one unsteady step back. The rise to power had too many times resulted in nothing but a rapid descent to death, if not sheer madness. He had always prided himself in his single skill - self preservation - and this crazed General Queen asking soldiers to willingly sacrifice themselves for the general betterment of not doing it herself, this was anything but.

Back up, his mind said, and he did, taking another unsteady step backwards. Cowardice had never been a flaw, just a means of staying alive all these years.

Yet, as scared as he was of the door, of change, he was scared even more of being left behind. Fallen. Dead.

There had indeed, never been a choice in the first place.

The Captain did what he did best, faking a smile, bowing. "I am yours to command." The road to self preservation was paved with false security.

Wolframite had been in bed and flinched when the pull towards the Negaverse summoned him out from under dark covers to the less cozy confines of the darkness that took hold of the Negaverse’s great halls. Barely standing straight, he checked his eyes a moment and was glad they were dry, before looking around him. They were at the door again, but this time they actually had an authority figure before them. Tanzanite, standing in her full form that, for once, didn’t make the room feel too cramped. If anything, it made her seem smaller, and he was amazed even more by the comparison of Tanzanite to the door itself. Like the diagrams in a book that showed a human figure, a elephant, and then a dinosaur (Not that he’d ever call Tanzanite as big as an elephant. Friend or not, he did not want to see how that would play out.)

It was, it seemed, the time for the door to opened and for its purpose to make sense. Seeing as Tanzanite wasn’t rushing them in, he started to feel silly that he thought it had been an emergency that they opened the door. Scheeltie had been right, and he tried to find the neon General in the mass of officers. What he did catch was a pink uniform, and his eyes raced away, chest tight. Teleporting back to his bed seemed like a good idea right about now, but there were other alternatives.

Walking into the unknown and risking your life for some unknown cause that, in some way or another, might benefit the Negaverse. Considering what little he had accomplished, maybe a simple end like this wasn’t half bad. Suicidal as it may be, he was feeling a bit in the mood. Nothing like throwing your life away for unknown reasons to brighten up your day. He certain hadn’t had any plans other than…being miserable.

He then heard the light voice of a senshi, and he glanced over to hear her volunteer. Well, that pretty much wrapped his decision up. If a senshi could go, he certainly was. Unlike the others, he didn’t say a word. He’d follow as in his unvoiced declaration of following Tanzanite. He certainly had mothering against Beryl. She was his Queen after all, but he really needed a distraction. Too bad what he needed a distraction from was tagging along.
