-the King staggers over to Ny Kiryn, throwing an arm over his shoulders and taking a drag from his cigarette-
You, my friend, need to have babies.
-he winks slyly-

Ny Kyrin: *looks at the human king like he fell off a turnip truck* Why would I need for such things? I have my charge, that's enough. *snorts a little* And you smell like spoiled grapes turned into a juice that you humans drink.
Nicona: *hides further under the blanket*
-the King waves his arms happily, causing the crown to slip forward over his forehead-
"Hey!" Comes a voice from not too far away, just then a young woman with long black hair and bright blue eyes runs up, not too far behind her was a unicorn mare with pastel colored mane and tail, a broken golden chain around her neck. The woman went up to the other human and pulled him off of the stallion, who snorted his thanks. "What are you doing to my horses?!" she demanded as she held the man up, she wrinkled her nose, disliking the smell of cigarettes, and of wine that was coming off of him.
The King arched a perfectly trimmed eyebrow, raising his hand to steady the crown on his head. He straightens, taking his arm from Ny Kiryn's withers, and turns on his heel smartly to face the girl.
Azreth grins, sweeping into an elegant bow as he pulled his arm from her grip. "My Lady." The man wrested his wrist on the hilt of his sword, a casual stance, with a leg cocked out. Nonthreatening. "I am Azreth, King of these lands, and quite a lucky man to meet such a beauty as yourself." He tipped her a wink.
His attitude was always so; playful flirty, though it was all in good fun. The King always had to keep up a false face in front of both people and Azrein alike, to try to push down the anxiety and worry that were ever-present these days.
"Anyone can put on a crown, dress elegantly, and have a smooth silver tounge and call themselves 'King'." The woman said unimpressed by the slight flirt. "But King or no, you still don't go around drunk like and falling all over someone else's horse." She brushed away some stray hairs and pulled them behind a long tapered ear. "Obviously things have changed up here, its starting to get no better than the low lands." She moved passed the man and stroked the Kirin's neck. She then went to the foal still hiding in her blanket and began to stroke the back of it, murmuring something in elvish, causing the foal's head to lift and fling her head up and down. The woman chuckled and patted the head before standing. "Before I forget my own manners, I'm Hero. The Kirin you were clinging to is Ny Kyrin, the foal is Nicona, and the shy mare three yards behind me is Yunigoni. I rescued them from the low lands. Though one may call it horse theiving." She pulled out of her thatchel a rosy apple and gave it to the foal, who started munching on it from under the blanket.
The King took a few paces back to watch the woman interact with her Azrein, a small smile playing on his lips. It never failed to warm his heart when he saw the creatures he gave everything to protect find their Chosen.
And whenever their Chosen treated them so well, and were protective of them [like this woman certainly was], it hardened his will to keep fighting for such a precious link. The woman seemed oblivious to the King's thoughts, and though her words were harsh to him, Azreth knew she was only speaking so to watch over her Bonded.
Azreth shrugged elegantly. "One cannot steal an Azrein, so it is of no import to me." The man's voice was a gentle baritone, soothing despite his flippant words. His green eyes caught the woman's blues and held them far past a comfortable point.
"And though anyone may call themselves King, I am truly the ruler of these lands. So let me welcome you personally to the Isle of Azreth."

Hero gave him a side ways glance as she continued to pet her stallion's muzzle, Yunigoni going over to the foal and was inspecting her, but her ears were perked in her Chosen and the human's direction. Wondering what her Chosen was going to do next. "I've been here before.... as a small child." She replied simply, though her tone much softer now, and it looked as though she was speaking more to the stallion than to the King. "Many years ago... " but she fell silent again, a distant look in her eye as her hand stopped in mid-stroke of the stallion's cheek. ".... though it only seems like weeks... the lands hadn't really changed..."
Valdien trots up to the King, giving his Chosen a soft nuzzle before moving around to stand behind him. Azreth leaned back, resting his shoulder blades against the stallion's ribs and listened silently.
When it was clear the girl had finished speaking, the King nodded and closed his eyes, leaning his head back to rest it on Valdien's side. "I pray these lands will never change, my Lady." The King's voice had become more solemn, and all trace of the gay frippery lining his words before was gone. "It is my duty and my honor to ensure that these lands remain untouched for as long as I live."

Yunigoni jumped at the sudden appearence of the stallion, but recongized him from before and settled down a little, but settled further when her chosen began to stroke her neck. "I pray the Goddess grants you youth and immortality then" Hero replied softly, she then looked at the stallion and nodded her head slightly to him in respect. "I too made a vow. To find and return any Azrein I find home... And my spirit will not be at peace till I find the one who has been ordering their capture."
The King nods once, turning his back to the girl in order to give Valdien some attention. With a single move, he pulls himself gracefully onto the Azrein's back, leaning forward so he is resting his head on the stallion's withers.
Azreth snakes his arms around Valdien's muscled neck, the King's knees tucked behind the Azrein's wings, and says something quietly to the stallion.
"All of us on the King's side are wishing for the same, my dear," the stallion's voice was soothing, and had almost a musical sort of quality to it. "Though with that and the threat of the Six to deal with as well..." Valdien's words trailed off and he shook his head gently. "Sometimes it is too much for a man, even a King, to handle alone."
"That isn't to say that I must take it on all by myself, of course." The King frowned, squeezing Valdien's neck. "There are a few who have realized that our fighting is necessary. Though even I wish we did not have to sacrifice so much."

Hero watched the man and his stallion, and had a sense of Justice from inside. She herself got upon Ny Kyrin, and laid down like she were on a bed. "Then you have my sword and bow." She replied. "As your friend has said, it is difficult to do such a task on one's own. I will fight with and for you." "As will I." Ny Kyrin replied with a stamp, his shackles jingling. Yunigoni just sighed a little, not liking the idea of fighting at all, but she gave the winged stallion a shy soft smile showing her support to him too.
The King lifts a hand, waving it lazily in the air. "Thank you for that, though I should warn you it is not easy. If you do intent to join our ranks, you will be pushed to exhaustion. Continuously."
