 When was the first time he met his nephews? Recently. Julien and Bordeaux. Good kids, honestly. Bor was more hyper and silly while Juls was a calmer, critical boy. They apparently had other brothers, but right now Edward was content knowing he was not alone. He had always wondered who his family was, always hoped it wasn't the story he heard other people speak of. Being abandoned by parents that never wanted them, being ditched, parents dying, all those unfortunate events. No. Edward had learned he had a brother, a few of them actually. He had a mother somewhere, and a father too. It was probably an accident his nephews had said. And he hoped so.
Now he was traveling back from meeting the two boys, probably to see Lorelz and how she was doing with Akito. Sometimes he wished he could have someone like she did. They weren't mates.....yet. Akito seemed to tolerate her existence. Lorelz was willing to follow Akito into his tribe if he ever fell for her. They were a good match.
Though Edward was sweet and gentle he wasn't very pushy when it came to mates. He wasn't the kind to get in another persons space, or pursue them if they didn't want him to. He was kind, and by being so kind he was not one to put others in uncomfortable places.
This was probably why he was still single, though he didn't mind. He wasn't going to change himself for anyone else, and he didn't want someone around that wanted him to be something he was not. He was fine with this life-style, being a friend and close companion to a few selected people. Because that was who he was. A good friend.

 Peri found her thoughts wandering towards her family more often now. She hadn't seem her parents and the majority of her siblings in forever. She hadn't seen Takashi ever since she'd managed to shake him off her tail a few months ago.
It surprised the vixen to discover she was lonely. She'd have even (maybe) welcomed a visit from her odd Uncle Baki. It was just, she never thought that she wouldn't run into anyone during her wanderings! Blaise she didn't count much, since she hardly even got to know the male at all.
"Ugh, this is so boring," Peri complained to a nearby flower. "I might as well just crawl back to Gypsy and ask if Elder Rina will take me in. At least then I'd have someone to talk to! Some adventure," she muttered sulkily at the end, scuffing her paw against the grass.

A female voice alerted Edward, ear flicking slightly. A female? It wasn't a good idea for anyone to be out here for now, he had heard stories of bandits being nearby, or thieves if you will. He was walking through the forest because Edward was strong for a fox. Often people thought he was dumb because he was strong and sweet, but no. He wasn't. Or so he believed. If he was then he didn't know that.
Edward followed the sound, spotting a dark vixen with a bright blue tail, and he looked bored. She wouldn't be when bandits came, that was for sure.
"Miss." She was a she, right? He had once met a male with a female tail, it was rather strange, but the male had been attempting to be female. "There's been rumors of thieves nearby, it's not safe to be here."

Peri looked up, a startled, "Eep!", working it's way out of her mouth. What was it with her always getting snuck up on by strange males? She even jumped a little, though at least the flower didn't get crushed.
"Oh, I'm sorry," she explaimed. "I didn't know anyone lived here." The whole point of what the male had said, about the rumors of thieves in the area, seemed to have completely lost on her.

His eye's widened at her sound, suddenly realizing what he had done. Oh no no no. Was she scared? He took a step back, smiling as gently and sweetly as possible, which was pretty gentle. Edward would never want to hurt anyone, or scare anyone either. "Don't be frightened, I didn't really think before appearing. I didn't occur to me I'd startle you." He said softly, still smiling. She really didn't catch on to his thieves remark, did he? Well, he'd have to gently remind her. Gently. She seemed easy to startle.
"I'm just traveling, I don't have a set home." He said, looking to the side slightly. Was that a sound he had heard? It didn't matter right now. "Miss." He turned back to her, careful to not stare. "There are thieves known to be around here, it's very dangerous to be alone."
(( This is why he is single, he's to damn nice. ))

Peri had finally gotten her heart rate back to normal, and was now feeling both embarassed and mildly irritated for being snuck up upon. That and there was....something else. She frowned, looking the male, trying to figure it out. Ah, that was it.
"That smile's creepin' me out," she stated, bluntly. "No one acts so sugar sweet on a first meeting unless you're a baby or unless you're planning something." Peri's eyes narrowed a little as she remembered her Uncle Baki. She didn't always jump to kidnapping as a conclusion, but she really didn't see any other reason for the male to be so nice. Or look around in that suspcious manner....
((.....*facepalm*))

Ugh, great. Now she thought he was a creep. Well, he was used to it at this point. People didn't trust nice guys, it was just how it was. His ear flicked again, hearing the noise once more. Alright, this was annoying. He wanted to know what it was, but he was stuck at this point. The vixen looked close to either fleeing or pouncing, he didn't want to provoke her or give her any reason to fear him.
"Then I guess I am a baby, miss." He said, shaking his head slightly. He was honest, he wanted her to know he meant no harm, and between those two options the only option he could pick was being a baby. He had no plans to harm her what-so-ever. He was just a sweet guy. She apparently felt the need to be wary, did that mean she had a reason to? Now here began Edward's ability to put together events, facts, expressions, and tones to come to a conclusion. He was extremely clever at figuring out people, and judging by the vixen's reactions she was wary. Which more than likely either meant she had experienced something frightening that left her on edge, or was raised to be wary.
(( I think we should bring in some thieves and have Eddy be the protector. -loves tapping into his good side- ))

Peri proved just how mercurial her personality could be by laughing at what the male had said. Not mocking or I-don't-believe-you-laughter, but an amused and warm laugh. She didn't know why exactly that was her response. Probably just because of how solemnly the male had answered her, without giving her a look that questioned her sanity or making some kind of comment about her intelligence or agruing with her.
"Well you're awfully big for a baby," she said, looking up from where she'd been doubled over in laughter, her blue-gray eyes sparkling with merriment. It seemed lightning fast mood changes were just something inherited in her family...
((That would be cool, but not quite right now... Maybe wait until towards the end of page 2, or somewhere later on in that, so they get time to form a bit of a bond. Otherwise Peri might think it was all an elaborate hoax XD Remember, she is related to Mercury and Tamaki!))

She laughed, which was either a good sign or bad. Edward decided to take it as good, since she was smiling and rolling about, a sign she trusted him enough to let her get into that state in the first place. He chuckled slightly when she spoke, shaking his head. "I guess." With this he scanned himself, shrugging his shoulders lightly. "Then again, how many babies have you seen?" He asked, raising an eyebrow. This was followed with a gentle and inviting smile, glad she was no longer looking at him like some serial-killer. He wasn't, he didn't know if anyone in his family was, but he wasn't one, that was for sure. Hmm... maybe she knew of someone he was related to?
"Also, miss, have you seen anyone similar to me by any chance?"

((Just to clarify, when she was laughing she kinda tilted her head down so her nose was pointing at the ground and her chin almost touching her chest. She stayed on all four feet though.))
Peri shrugged her shoulders. "I come from a pretty big family. I've got like four brothers and a sister, and I was the oldest of the lot. That and my dad kinda got adopted when he was a baby. His mom has like a ton of siblings herself, and nearly all of them have six kids." Peri considered it for a moment. "Actually, I think some of my "aunts" and "uncles" were born about the same time as me and my sibs."
She considered the question he had posed to her. "Someone who looks like you? I dunno, not that I've seen. You've got a pretty distinctive pattern too, I'd remember seeing it before."

Edward nodded, eyes showing a slight disappointment. "I've been looking for them for some time, it seems I have no luck." His blue swirled tail flipped under him, smile returning. It just meant he had to search harder, didn't it? He back tracked, going through the story she had just given and frowning briefly. "Such a large family, how do you keep track of it?" He asked, head tilting. Was he jealous? Ever so slightly. Only because she knew her family, and he himself wished for that experience. Though, he was glad to see a fox with a family and not searching for one like he was. At least she was happy, he truly enjoyed when others were happy.
"I mean, not to intrude, but that seems like a fairly large family."

Peri laughed. "Oh, it is. It seems like it gets larger and larger as time goes back." Her eyes rolled skyward as she tried to recall names and lineage. "Myself and my siblings are the biggest litter on my mom's side. She was part of three kids. My grandma was a litter of four, my grandpa just has his sister. My great-grandma just had a sister, and my great-great grandpa was an only child."
Peri's eyes rolled back down to focus on Edward's face. She flashed him a wide grin and laughed again. "I guess I'm a bit of a nut when it comes to keeping an eye on the family tree. Maybe cause some of my own family is so insane, it pays to be able to recognize them!"

Edward listened intently, storing the information in the back of his brain. If she asked later what he remembered he could more than likely repeat everything she had said, mostly because he was attentive and loved making people happy. If he forgot something, he'd disappoint that person, wouldn't he? Her smile caused Edward to naturally respond with his own smile, tail wagging.
"You are lucky, did I say that before?" Oh wait, he hadn't given his name! How rude! Edward's smile became an apologetic frown. "I am Edward, miss." He felt bad for forgetting this simple detail. How could she trust him if he was just some boy to her?

Peri giggled, a little burbling sound of laughter. "I'm Peri," she said, introducing herself in turn. "Surprisingly it's not short for anything. I was almost afraid my full name was Periwinkle, but Dad says it's just Peri." She giggled again. It was a silly little piece of information and one she rarely shared. After all, who worried over their name being a nickname for something longer when it really wasn't? Not to mention the potential for that to become her nickname, nevermind that it was longer than her actual name.
Peri tilted her head. "So I'm lucky cause I know most of my family tree? Do you know much about the rest of your family?" Family history was always something that piqued her curiousity, whether it was her own or someone else's.

He chuckled when she mentioned Periwinkle, also happy that was not her name. "As cute as that seems, I think Peri suits you much better, miss." He meant it, too. He liked her name, not that he would say if he didn't, he was far to kind and polite for that. However, her name didn't need lying to, it was cute on it's own. He felt that if he called her cute though he'd lose that sweet personality he was being shown for being forward. When she asked about his family his head lowered, eyes locking on the ground.
"I just met two of my nephews. Julien and Bordeaux just recently. As of this week. They have other brothers I do not know of. I... I have a brother it seems, actually, I have several siblings. And a mother I heard is kind and a father that the boys knew of. I do not know why I was left behind, but, I hope one day to find them and ask."
