Ebio'Femi:
The sun was still out but she knew that it was around her time to go home. Well, around that time where she didn't see Gloz around, he had successfuly managed to whisp away. She only guessed it was because she really did annoy him. Sighing as she found herself looking at where the sun was slowly going towards. Such things, she found amazing and she felt. One day.. one day maybe she could share the same view with someone she held dear. Only she couldn't manage to ever say anything. Ever.
Lowering her head. For the past couple of days, she was teaching classes and helping aid the teachers in all she could. What was she to do now that her cubs she adopted were grown and back to their families? Keeping herself busy and busy except for the times she'd run in to Gloz. "Soon he'll leave too." Then back to the lonliness. "Like Khaul..did."
Glozelle:
It didn't take Gloz too long to find who he was looking for, but it was long enough to miss his tracker. He wasn't good at finding others. It seemed like all that ever happened was others found him or he ran into them by pure chance.
But he did find her, sitting alone, watching the sun set. It wasn't until that moment that he realized she had some of the colors in her pelt. She was sand and sky, clouds and the pink rays of the setting sun. So much more different from his browns or Caspian's yellows, his aunt's whites or Ela's pinks and greens.
He cleared his throat to get her attention, standing behind her several paces away as he was.
"Ebio, I found something I want you to take a look at."
Ebio'Femi:
Somehow she just felt empty. That's how it felt.. But before she knew it, without knowing Gloz was behind her- it was like being woken up. The instant jolt through her when he spoke, she looked up... the breeze still there but it was starting to die down now and the heat could come back.. and then the immense cold soon. "Gloz?." Getting her attention and instantly getting up and turning around to look at him. "What is it?" Before taking her steps down the broken ruin's steps. Completely open as the top and some of the sides had seemed to disappear. Coming up to him, this was the first time he seeked her out... Something must be up.
Glozelle:
Gloz nodded and started walking towards where he had left the little female.
"Found a youngling wandering the desert. She seems pretty banged up and she'd be better off with you, anyways," he replied, explaining to her on the way rather than doing so once they got there. What would she think of that, he wondered. She had seemed a little down of late, and it hadn't gone past his attention that she wasn't sometimes surrounded by cubs anymore. They must have all grown up and gone on to other training.
"I warn you, though. She's got something of a snake's demeanor and says very strange things."
Ebio'Femi:
She let Gloz lead her the way, wondering exactly what he was up to. Purely it wasn't to seek aid for himself since she had pretty much a hand full of her medicine in her pouch.. It wasn't that til he let her in on what was happening. A gasp escaped her. "A youngling in the desert? Is she alone?" It would seem obvious, but she barely could believe. "Banged up?" She wondered where in the desert was this child from, so badly banged up, it was obivious she wasn't from around here..or lost from the pride. "I don't mind it. I deal with you don't I~" Taking up a few steps ahead, she didn't want to waste time in the condition and when she came up the hill to the oasis.. Casting her gaze down she saw the cub sprawled out under the only shade there was in the oasis. Taken back by the scars that she could seem from a few feet away.
"Oh my~ Gods!" It didn't take not one more moment before she ran down with haste and coming up to the cub's side.. Slowly and cautiously as she examined her. Almost in a whisper. "Where- What.." Then turning back to the sleeping child..
Glozelle:
Gloz followed Ebio as she ran to the cub's side, stopping and sitting down nearby.
"I've no idea where she came from. Only that she kept saying she was not a slave and she had me give my word that vultures would not injure her any longer," he replied, watching her inspect the cub. It was almost like how she had been when she had seen his back. Was it a reflex she had developed, or was it just how she was, immediately ready to tend the injured?
"She fought me as hard as she could when I carried her back her, then ran off as soon as she had something to drink. Fell over that hill when she did so," he added, nodding his head at the hill he was referring to.
Ebio'Femi:
Like a medic so to say, as she came up and touched the girl's face. "She's out cold.. " Knowing she wasn't dead only cause of visible rib cage. "Slave huh?" Looking up at him, almost horror striking her. "If she was a slave, I could imagen so." She wanted to apply her medicine on but she knew that sand would be rough when it dried. "I have to wake her.. or apply the medicine at the temple. These wounds need to be clean first." Eyeing the water then the girl. No choice.. taking the cub by the ruff and slowly pulling her up. So carefully and so tender like when she put her in to the shallow ends of the water.
Only letting her down where her back paws touched the water and the rest of her was up on the sand. "I don't even have a leaf or anything." Whispering to herself as she looked at the water. Dipping her paw in to the water and cleaning it before she started to take the paw full of water, from the water to the girl's back. Carefully and calmly not to wake her. "It's good she sleeps then.. Hopefully she does not wake."
Glozelle:
"Do whatever you feel is necessary. She's in your charge, now," Gloz replied with a small shrug. He simply sat and watched as she took the small female into the water, like a mother with her cub. It made him wonder what it would have been like, if he and Ela had a proper mother, one who had cared for them instead of blamed them. He once more wondered what it would be like to be a part of a real family.
And then he stamped the wonder down. There was no room for wondering and dreams and the like, not in his life. He needed to go on, to find a purpose again. He needed to stop all this thinking, recover, and leave. Perhaps raise an army against his uncle and the other lords, restore the throne. The problem was, he didn't want a throne. He couldn't rule, not like his pride needed. He was not deceptive in his words, a silver tongue kept the throne in the end, not an iron paw.
He laid down to watch the lioness and her new little burden.
Ebio'Femi:
After doing the best she could with the cleaning, she pulled her tail up with the pouch now. Dipping her paw in and pulling it out with what looked like green gew. Others said it smelt like mint and the like but others couldn't stand the smell, or liked it. Either or, it was the only medicine she knew was able to heal open wounds. That she got from Izzy. Applying it, carefully, looking up every now and again before placing it along the ridges of the wounds. "Your right.. she is banged up.." Referring to earlier.. Looking to him. "When I apply this to her wounds, would you be able to take her to my den? I'll run up ahead and- well.." She looked down. "Right.. she is in my charge.." Thinking she would have liked to make some space. Though there was already a big enough space.. empty. Just with medicines, trinkets around. Looking down at the girl.. what.. who would do this to a cub? She couldn't iamgen. It sickened her and looking at the child made it so much worse. "Who could do this.."
Glozelle:
"I can carry her for you, but I don't know where your den is," Gloz replied with a nod. He didn't mind carrying the little female back for Ebio, but she would have to lead the way. He watched her apply the medicine to the cub, not really interested but having nothing better to do while he was waiting. He said he would help and that was what he would do.
He frowned a bit when she asked who could do what had happened to the young female.
"The outside world can contain great evils sometimes. There are adults who can do outrageous harm to young creatures if they have the opportunity." He spoke the truth, a truth he knew all too well. Only his aunt had made good on not punishing her nephew and daughter in ways that did any permanent damage. At least, significant permanent damage.
Ebio'Femi:
Her gaze came up to his. Serious as she could be, with her eyes strikingly angered and one could tell that it was very new to her facial features. "I can not condone such acts.... no cub should be treated way, no. No animal should be treated this way. To kill for food is another thing but torture I can not look the other cheek."
Getting way to serious for Ebio's face before shaking her head. "Not with your back..It would further back your healing process.." Her voice now low and somewhat not a subject she wanted to touch on. The faster he healed the faster he'd leave. Looking past the way over the hill. "We'd have to start now before it gets any later. We must act quick, can you please?"
Glozelle:
"It is not something I would expect you to condone, Ebio, but you must realize it is the truth," Gloz replied as he stood up and walked the steps toward the lioness and her charge. He looked down at the unconscious little female and shook his head. A hard truth indeed.
But Ebio knew nothing of this. How could she? She was sheltered in a pride where the members cared for one another, there had been not backstabbing, no power-plays that he had seen in his time here. It was too good for him to comprehend and a part of him could not trust it.
Even though she tried to deny him, insisting that it would be too much for his back, he simply shook his head and picked the youngling up. His head rose to give Ebio a look and a slight tilt of his head asked her to lead on.
Ebio'Femi:
"It's wrong." The world wasn't right to play favorites and kill off so young. "I won't anything happen to you.." She whispered against the girl's ear whom was tattered. When she went in to pick up the zhen, he dipped and picked her up. Already close to his face as her cheeks heated up just slightly before shooting a look away and nodded at him. "Alright." They walked along side the hills of sands. Around the pride and down in between two hills where they dip was her den. As an adult, she couldn't live with her real father nor Roko anymore so she found a ruined temple that she made her home. Big enough for a few to fit comfortably. She often went there as a cub to think these over and moved fully when she was an adol when Khaul left.
Running ahead of him when they got close to start picking up herbs and things she collected over the years. It was an utter mess, like a pair of cubs did it and they did. It was more than half covered and the front was ruin while the back was almost consumed in sand. Making her way in and cleaning up as best as she could. Patches of grass and sand made up where one could sleep. When he got close, she called to him then re-entered fixing up a batch of gew to give to Gloz for helping.
Glozelle:
Gloz followed Ebio, watching as she ran off. She had blushed, he hadn't missed that, but he had dismissed it. It didn't matter to him if she should blush, or why she did it, he didn't care. He was leaving once he had gotten well, he had made no other hints that he would do otherwise. Even to his nieces and nephews, his brother knew that as soon as he was able to he would be gone from these pridelands. He was a danger to the pride, one more reason for his former pridemembers to attack. Maybe he was fooling himself, maybe Caspian's presence was enough to make the threat real. But maybe Gloz could... could what, go back to the pride and take over? Usurp both Miraz and Sopesian and then rule the pride as he thought it should be? He was no ruler, he had no mind for this game of thrones. He was and always would be a heavy paw, a useful warrior and tactician, nothing more.
Ebio was gone the next his thoughts came back to him. She had run ahead, into her den. No doubt to move things around.
He followed her after she called out to him and set the little female down on the first little nest of sand and grass he saw.
"Further back the healing process, hmph," he said softly, snorting a bit as he rolled his shoulders.
Ebio'Femi:
She paced between the den and all around to not futher embaress herself for the careless mess. Darn cubs, she loved them but they made her den just utterly trashed. When she had finished she breathed in a little and then quickly retreated back to Gloz and the child. He had put her down so gently that he didn't even see the girl stir.
He was able to be gentle and that she knew. "Yea, further your healing. Do you want to stay here." She said sarcastically, even to light up the mood from her previous anger over what happened to the cub. Going and dipping her paw in to her pouch and slowly and easily placing the gew over the girl's back and deep wounds. Off to work on her already. Nearly almost covering the girl up in dark green. The night started to creep upon them as she continued on. Before rubbing her forehead at the finish product. "There.." Looking serious as she applied the stuff the same way she did with Gloz once before. "Are you gunna come back and see her." Handing him a sack with her rememdy for himself.
Glozelle:
Gloz sat down rather than leaving as he probably should have.
"No, I don't belong here," he replied to her question, sarcastic as it was. His gold eyes were fixed on the scars and healing wounds, much worse than he had ever experienced at her age. Her emotional scars ran as deep as his did.
"And if my former pride members find me here, all the more reason to attack in one form or another. Wipe out both sons, the heir and the b*****d." Why he said those things, he wasn't sure. She didn't need to know his reasons, she didn't need to know anything about him. He should remain a shapeless figure in this pride, taking little and leaving nothing but a vague memory behind. He didn't belong, didn't really belong anywhere. He never truly had. When he was a cub he liked to think that he might have belonged if his mother had lived, that she would have cared for him like the mother he had seen once. He had a certainty that she would have taken Ela away from Aunt Ilea, too. It wasn't until it was all too late that he learned his father hadn't known, had never known of his existence. If it would have changed things, he would never know.
"Doubtful. I don't do well around younglings."
Ebio'Femi:
She lowered her head, looking at him when she finally kept her eyes when he spoke. Sadly, when she spoke of not staying. It was a sore subject. Finally someone she was getting clsoe to was gunna leave. "I don't think they will find you.. here.. and even if they did. We can- no. The pride would bind together if someone were to try and hurt one of our own." Lifting her head with sureness.
He paw rose to her heart..Looking down at Zhen. ".... If that's how you feel." She shrugged. Usually she would have a lot to say- fight back and be annoying presistant but being told that was it. "Thank you for bringing her here.. i hope you reconsider visiting her." Slowly lowering herself until she laid around the child. Looking at him over her shoulder. "I doubt you will stay but my home is open to all that do not have one."
Glozelle:
A small, bitter, ghost of a smile found it's way onto the scarred warrior's maw as he slowly shook his head.
"Don't be naive, Ebio. I am the farthest thing from one of your own," he replied, looking away from the domestic sight before him. He didn't think he was one of their own, he was one of the others. They had welcomed Caspian, he found that understandable. His half-brother was, if nothing, kind and respectful. But Gloz, he had blood on his paws, blood of a king he had served since he had been old enough to train. The same blood that ran through Caspian's body, the same through his own. He had been the one to come after Caspian in the night, had run the young prince into the desert. To save his life, yes, but only in that it was not an assured death sentence. He remembered the relief, when he asked his tracker to find Caspian and she saw him safe.
"And I've been told that members of our pride have already found Caspian. It's only a matter of time before they come back. Better I leave and..." And do what?
"Try to stop it before it begins." It would very likely be him walking back into the claws of his enemies, but maybe, maybe he could win. Miraz was aging and not as clever as he truly thought. And Sopesian was weaker, smaller than he was.
Ebio'Femi:
Looking at the cub as he spoke, like a father protecting his young. That's how Gloz flickered her memory of. Her father. A determined look on her face. "You are one of us.. as we accept all and I was brought up to care for all no matter the background. Why leave a brotherin behind?" Shaking her head. Yes, she may be naive about that statement but that's what she believed in. So hard.
"I don't know what pride you came from, I don't know what happened before the life of when you came to us. But as apart of my belief. My den remains open, and I will also help you if you may ask. Or not, but I can't just look away. I will even train if that is to help you on your mission." Bowing her head.. Still looking Zhen over. Then lowering her head to around the cub. "If not- I will support you from afar to whatever your future may hold."
Sighing. "For now, my future is this cub, to nuture it and care for her but I have not forgotten about you." Holding her tail up with the sack of gew that she tried to give him earlier. "If you wanna stop something that sounds so fierce, you shouldn't miss a treatment."
Glozelle:
Gloz listened to her talk and his eyelids drooped lower, as if to hide a foreign and unidentifiable emotion there. She accepted him, or at least she thought she did. What tune would she sing when she found out all the horrible things he had done in his past? Even his cousin had looked at him with sorrow and disappointment the night he had come back with blood on his paws. As if she hadn't known him and never would again. Things had changed and he doubted it had ever gone back to normal.
"Someday, I might tell you what brought me to this place, and we shall see if you still believe that what we've done in the past doesn't matter. My thanks for your concern," he replied, picking up the bag and heading out into the growing night.
Zhen:
Zhen's body had stalled in to silence. Sleeping soundly and even sounding liek a crackle every now and again from her throat.
Ebio'Femi:
Huffing a little as she couldn't help but feel almost put off by him but at the same time seeing a 'hope' in the dimmest light. Her face still looking down to the cub. Absorbed by her. A child, with no mother nor father around and she was suppose to care for it. Look after it.. teach it. It rattled her on the inside and though her words stood true, she would take in any heart in need. Even Gloz. "I will not fall astray.. I believe we all can change." She was testiment to that, so happy and now detached for the most part only in emotional stand point. Everyone was at an arm's length. "But I am a good listener. Only the gods will trial you, as I have no right to." Sounding almost surreal as she said it. "The night has come.."
Glozelle:
His mouth full of the bag she had given him, Gloz could only stop in his footsteps and listen to her words. Everyone judges, Ebio. Gods and mortals alike. Someday you'll see that. Though he hated the thought of her happy little bubble being popped, he knew it was true. One was always making judgements about others, sometimes with only the words of some third creature as a basis for the judgement. Or a misunderstanding.
With a small shake of his head, he walked out, heading away from the den. As he left the domestic scene, a part of him ached though he knew he didn't belong.
