Kiwa had found out that her Demon was sneakier than she'd thought. Making her way over to Arato, she looked around, making sure that her mother wasn't about. Smiling a bit, she twitched her tail over his nose, "Arato! Wake up. We found something amazing...." We meaning her and her little inner voice that Runya had called a Demon.
Arato awoke, nearly leaping a foot in the air at being disturbed from slumber. Once he realized it was only his sister he quickly regained his composure. "Ooh, what?" Arato's gold eyes gleamed in delight, his curiosity peaking at the prospect of a late night-time adventure. He'd been dying for another chance to explore, but their mom was just too protective!
Her tail flicked eagerly, and she purred happily, "I found a lady who knows about the little voices. She said the place she's from? We'd be special." Her voice was....amazed, loving. She couldn't wait to see what it was like in this Pride....
The cub's ears perked up in excitement; he hadn't gotten the chance to talk to a stranger before due to almost always being under their mother’s watchful eyes. "Really?" He was about to say that Kiwa should take him to this lady straight away, when the thought occured that if they left, they probably wouldn't be coming back any time soon. "...Does this mean we're leaving mom for good?" He said, barely above a whisper.
"No," Her whisper was eager, excited, "We can find Mama later and make her a 'Na'artue', so she'll NEVER leave us!" She was nervous, but happy, trotting over to him, and licking his ear. Kiwa seemed eager, her turqoise eyes delighted, "C'n we go, then? I promised miss Runya that I'd bring you."
The dust colored male grinned widely. He had no idea what Kiwa meant by a Na'artue but whatever it was, it at least sounded pretty cool. "Okay, let's go!" He jumped up, ready to follow his sister wherever she might lead him. Arato had always trusted Kiwa, knowing that his sibling would never do anything to hurt him.
The little Demoness giggled eagerly, pressing the side of her black and pink pelt against her brother's own dark one. Padding forwards, she let the smell of the terrain guide her, "You're really gonna love this, Ara. Runya's gonna teach us everything. Like how that voice is inside us? It's got a name too!"
Blinking brightly, Arato made sure to keep close as Kiwa talked more about this Runya lady. "Whoever she is, she sounds really smart. Is she a leader of the pride?" He definitely felt interested when Kiwa said that Runya knew something about the voice his sister heard. Sometimes he thought he could hear things too, but wherever the force came from, it wasn't as strongly attached to him as the one that made his sister stop thinking she was alone.
She shook her head, "I don't THINK so, but I think she might know them~. She talks about things that sound REALLY cool. She says that the things I play with are normal in the Pride, and that you an' me will be special, and she'll be like our new mama. It's going to be amazing."
"A new Mama?" Arato sounded thoughtful at the idea, but he supposed he was okay with it, at least until he and Kiwa could get their real mother back. "I hope Miss Runya's nice. If she says we're special, she must be..." He nodded, convincing himself that leaving was the right idea. As long as he had his sister he wouldn't be alone, so if the pride took them both in then he would be fine. "Where're we meeting her, Sis?"
Sniffing the air, she felt her demon jump in glee, beginning to purr like a motorboat. Tail flicking back and forth, she frowned, "Shouldn't be too far now, Ara. I keep smelling the same smells. It's gonna be cool."
Arato took a moment to sniff the air too, but at least to him there wasn't anything impressive. The night air was a bit dry, but he couldn't recognize the scent of any other lions nearby. "Huh. I don't smell anythin', but of course I believe you!" He smiled, before taking a moment to reach up and swat his sister's ear. "Tag, you're it!" He ran off ahead, his tail held high as he encouraged his sister to chase him to their destination.
She laughed eagerly, and chased after him, her claws digging into the ground. It propelled her forwards faster, and she giggled as she caught him, tagging his ear. Witihin a moment though, she stopped. There. The smell of lions and sulfur....The Aikanaro'hini!
Arato came to a halt when Kiwa tagged him back, laughing despite almost being out of breath. He turned to look behind him as he realized Kiwa had stopped in her tracks, only to put two and two together. This must be it! He trotted back to his sister's side since only she knew where they were presently and where they were meeting Runya. "This is the place. Right, Sis?"
She nodded and looked up at the full moon, cuddling against her brother's side, smiling softly, "Now we just wait. Soon, Brother, we'll be where you and me belong, and mama won't give me those funny looks anymore..." She sighed happily. "Let's just lay here for a bit," She yawned.
Curling up around his sister protectively, Arato lay down on the ground. He was sure Miss Runya would find them and that everything would be okay. "I'll be right here with you, so don't worry." He licked Kiwa's shoulder lovingly, determined that they would never be apart. "You can go back to sleep if you want. I'll keep watch if anybody comes by."
She nodded, purring happily. As the moon shone brightly, the breeze shifted her fur. The younger of the two fell into a happy sleep, and she waited, waited for Runya to come take them 'home'.
