Yeah. Jobs. We all need them, we generally all hate them. I know the three top posters here are graduating college soon, so what plans do you have for your future job?
Yes, I'm going to use this to vent, initially.

So, basically I was sitting in the lunch line and one of my professors snuck up on me and was like, "Hey! I gotta talk to you later about this excellently awesome job opportunity!" I was pretty excited and was like, "Woo! Ok!" and probably gave him a double thumbs-up because I'm cool like that. Or maybe I gave him the double-guns and was like, "'Eyyyy!" But, whatever, that isn't important.
Later I was still excited so I mentioned it to some people and they seemed to know what I was talking about, so I pressed the point until they caved and spoiled it for me. Basically, it's a consulting job with a great company that treats their employees really well, has good benefits and would start me at 40k/year. Catch? Hmm, maybe that would be that the job is pretty much on the opposite end of the continental US that I want to be on. No, not LA, which a friend of mine thought, but Seattle, Washington.
At first I was really excited until I heard the location, and now I'm just really, really kinda depressed because people seem to be pushing this on me (btw, I still haven't actually talked to the professor about it yet, so I may be bleh for nothing, but I'm cool like that), and all I really want right now is to get a job around home so I can get on my feet and established. Hell, I have a lot of really good friends at home and I miss them after being gone for so long too.
So, now I really don't know what I should do. I don't even have my resume out at other job sites around home (and I've found a few) so it kinda feels like this is going to be pushed on me before I even get a chance. What with all the 'excellent opportunity' and 'you should really do it' phrases being directed at me already.
And that's my purpose for making a job thread, but I'm sure people will have other job-related bitchings and problems to make this one a weiner.

I'm planning on sending my resume out to LaBella likely on saturday. I have one reference so far, and I'm hoping to get another two by tomorrow. Actually, ahh ********, the other professor I was going to ask is getting some teeth pulled tomorrow, but hopefully he'll be there in the morning. xp Then I gotta call my boss from the hospital. Woo, getting it done.

I'm more or less hoping that I can get a job at a smallish consulting company, or with the state.

Yeah, the benefits will rock pretty hard. Retirement is pretty good too.
Well, I could still come out to visit people over summer and stuff.
