"Now, where were we then?"
Wonderland, much like our world, has moved on since "The Alice incident". It's more civilized, orderly, and technical. Not to say the residents aren't insane, because they all have their own quirks about them, they just don't go yelling, "off with their head!", anymore. There are large cities, much like ours today, but instead of running on electricity, it runs on magic and dreams. But, like our gas, dreams is becoming a limited resource, so to inspire the other world, yes our world, to keep dreaming they kidnap someone every now again. They fill that some one's head up with ideas and stories to write, that is if they don't go insane. If you aren't one of these lucky, kidnapped people, chances are you won't be allowed to leave. You see, as much as Wonderland needs these dreams to keep moving forward, they don't want their world polluted with us. Much like we don't, or aren't supposed to, like illegal aliens. If they let one go, they tell their tale, and people demand proof, their gonna tell them. They'll return to that unnoticed street or door, and show everyone the wonderful world beyond. To avoid this, Wonderland has strict laws about foreigners.
Rule one, No unauthorized Foreigner is allowed to leave Wonderland
Rule two, All foreigners will be given he option of an education on how to adapt to their new lives.
Rule three, if any foreigner tries to resist these laws, then they will be sent to the mines and put to hard labor for the rest of their lives.
There are some other smaller silly ones, but these are the main three. Now, I bet your all wondering, "Wheres the Mad hatter? Wheres the Queen?" in all this mess, but sad to say, they all died. Wonderland creatures don't live forever, though some live much longer than us humans. The Queen has been replaced by her much calmer son, who now rules as Prince. The mad hatter and his tea party has been replaced with his daughter and her bar & restaurant. The garden of talking flowers, now a theater for the preforming arts. Other notable characters have also sadly died, though their children remain, not necessarily taking after their parents. The only characters still left alive is the Cheshire cat, who only leads humans to the bar, and the Jabberwocky, who is kept under lock and key by the cold prince.
Now, where you come in. Whenever a new human comes to wonderland, who knows how or why, but it happens, they are escorted to the prince. There he decides if your not too terrible to live in society. If you pass the test, and he dubs you good enough for wonderland, you'll be given a choice, stay in the home for new citizens until you reach 18, or in some cases, for a maximum of five years, or go out on the streets on your own to face whatever horrors await you. Your characters chose to attend the school for however long they so chose, and were found by the Cheshire cat. The Cat, who is really just a powerful neko with shape-shifting abilities, will lead you to a bar, and to the mad hatter's daughter. The bar is four stories high, and the actual bar is only the basement. Floors one through three are small apartments reserved for new citizens who need a place to stay until they get on their feet, or as long as they pay the rent afterwards. The forth floor is Hatter's daughter's place.

"Who am I? Well, Thats a deep question."
The Mad Hatter's Daughter-Taken by bribri0-
Owner of the bar. Shortly after her father, the mad hatter, died she was left with the property. All those years of drinking out of unwashed cups and the unattended to injuries from be in hit with tea cups and plates flying at high speeds really takes it toll. He died a few years after Alice's last vist. A city had sprung up around his little glen of tea time, and so his daughter got with the times. She built a bar and apartments where it had stood, so calling it, "The Tea Party", in memory of her father. Unlike her father, she isn't that in to tea. Also unlike her father she's not so unintouch with the world around her. She's more down to earth, but has a rage just like her father, and like father like daughter, has been known to throw the occasional cup or glass at annoying customers. She has nice side to her though, so just don't peeve her.
The Prince of Hearts-Up for grabs-open-
Ruler of Wonderland, and the most eligible bachelor in the kingdom, as he has yet to find a queen for himself. After his mother died the kingdom was expecting the worst from her little heard of son. To their surprise, he wasn't nearly has blood thirsty as his mother, and was a good leader. He's moved Wonderland into a more technical and magonic age, (Magic's equivalent to electronic), in the few years he's been in power. He's also a powerful magician, and sometimes disguises himself to mingle with the commoners and not be detected.
The Cheshire Cat-Free for all-NPC
Little is known about this cool cat, except that he's a friend to humans, and Hatter's daughter. Oh, and he knows how to party. Very good at that. Other than that, not much. He's old, wise, and nice in his own way. He guides the way for humans he thinks would benefit from Miss. Hatter's kindness.
The March Hare's Child-Up for Grabs-Open
The March Hare, the Mad Hatter's right hand man, and friend. After the poor fool died he helped hatter's daughter through it, so his child and miss Hatter were around each other a lot. Are they friends? Enemies? Frenemies? Up to you. Your father died three years ago, and Miss Hatter helped you, or at least did her best.
The White Rabbit's Kid-Taken by Steel Alice-taken-Steel Alice
The only child of this busy man, who knows what's become of them since his early death. Sadly the rabbit finally died of a heart attack just two years ago.

( 3 ) Keep it PG-13
( 4 ) Violence Isn't encouraged, but in a world full of such quirky characters roaming the streets, it's gonna happen. Just don't make it too gory, and if you're gonna die on me, or commit murder, get the other character's controller permission, then forward the conversation to me.
( 6 ) Romance, unlike Violence, is encouraged. Feel free o fall in love, kiss, hug, and other things, it's not like I can stop that. What I can stop and will not allow is for it to get to the bed. I don't want to read any of that, remember, PG-13. Do not take it to Pms.
( 7 ) I am the ruler of this roleplay, my word overrules even the prince's decisions. If I say your out, your out. Deal with it, and highlight number 8. Rules are subject to change.
( 8 ) At least a paragraph, 5-6 sentences per post if you have writers block, if not then at least 2 good paragraphs to 15 paragraphs. Anything more I think would be overkill. I know, It's tough, but try. And please keep in mind that this is a semi-lit and literate roleplay. Title Pm the number I skipped

"What now?"
The apartment's layed out like as seen above,each square is equal to two point two five square feet. Each has it's own kitchen, bathroom, living room, bedroom, and two closets. Your free to decorate them as you please, as long as you can get your own supplies. I suggest getting a job. Feel free to create and use NPCs as you wish when outside of the bar. And remember this isn't Earth, this is Wonderland, and its not electricity, its magic. They aren't light bulbs, they're either trapped glowworms or pixies.
Popular places.
The Tea Party, where the human characters, and Miss Hatter, live.
The Palace of hearts, where the Prince and ser- ahem, workers live.
The Flower Theater, where singing and dancing flowers and other nature related beings act out wonderful masterpieces.
