The cabin looked pretty normal from the outside, just like every day plain-Jane log cabins. They were square and had little square windows on either side of the door and windows on the sides. There was also no sign of a TV antenna or anything awesome like that. There was a small step up to the actual inside of the cabin. From the door you could see 6 beds total; actually four of the six beds incidentally were bunk beds. One on top of the other, then two singles off to the sides, though they could be made bunk beds too obviously.
There was a small den area that had six bean bag chairs and long coffee table, obviously for snacks or when the kids wanted to sit and talk, play games or do other such fun things. If nothing else but to keep the kids occupied when it was a rainy day and they couldn’t actually do anything outside.
Not far from any of the cabins were washrooms, not quite outhouses or port-a-johns; they were pretty nice for being in a log cabin type building and in fact it sort of reminds one of those fancy restrooms that theme parks, or stadiums, or even race tracks have, with toilets and sinks.

Free from the children, finally, Griffin walked into the Hemlock cabin and immediately let her things crash on the floor. Well, save for one bag with more fragile things like her camera. It looked like she was the first to move in, so when she saw the bunk beds and the singles, she looked around furtively and picked her things up before dropping them on a single bed in the corner.
Yessss.
The only way she'd be in a bunk bed would be if Talia bullied her into it and she got top bunk. But she swore to herself that she wouldn't let that happen. She began unpacking her things, but then just flopped down on her bed. It was pretty hot outside, but indoors wasn't so bad. She decided to catch her breath and wait to see who else came into the cabin. She hadn't introduced herself to everyone she'd be rooming with yet, and it'd probably be pretty good to get to know the girls you'd be spending the next two weeks with.

Castille directed one last kid toward their cabin, smiling as they ran off to join other kids entering the log structures. Then she sighed, stretched, and grabbed her long forgotten bag, trudging to her own cabin for a nap. She passed the Mess Hall and saw a sign posted on one cabin .
"Hemlock"
She opened the door, and instantly loved it. The bean bag chairs, the beds, they were all awesome. There were two sets of bunk beds, and two singles. One of which, was taken by a dark haired girl Castille had never met.
"Hi!" She said loudly as she climbed onto one of the bottom bunks. The one with the window of course. She wouldn't mind the top, but Castille had the feeling she was going to be very tired after dealing with these kids all day, and the thought of climbing even the tiny ladder with sore muscles was enough to keep her from snagging the top bunk. She threw her bag on the foot of her bed and flopped dramatically onto her bed.

Griffin sat up quickly, and when she saw the girl, she grinned happily. "Hi! I'm Griffin!" She paused for a second. "Er... Hawkeye." She shrugged. "Well, Hawkeye in front of the kids, you can call me either." She resumed some of her unpacking, but tried to do most of it from the sitting position. Pillow here. Hairbrush there. Camera hanging on the bedpost by its strap. She'd gravitated towards a window too and set a couple of things on the sill, looking out onto the camp, smiling. She'd get the morning sun, she thought. That'd be the perfect wake up call!
Looking back to her fellow camper, she asked, "Are you as excited for camp or are you as excited for camp?" She was brimming with enthusiasm, though she was tired, but she was trying to reign it in. She didn't want to scare the girl that would have to live with her for the next two weeks.

Castille rolled over and looked back at the girl. "It's nice to meet you!" She said from her position on the bed. "My name is Castille. Or Cub. whichever you'd like!"
She extended her foot towards her bag, pulling it by the strap towards her body. Her laziness was rewarded with the bag flopping slowly next to her, and she rose from her stomach to crossing her legs on the bed, unzipping the backpack and starting to withdraw the various contents.
"I'm totally excited for camp!" She said excitedly "I love kids!" In fact, Castille tried to spend much of her time with kids, though turning into a senshi has severely cut into that time. Or rather, the sleeping in after staying out so late moonlighting as a super hero cut into being with kids.
"So what activities are you supervising?"

xxxxxTalia was a bit late to the cabin party, thanks to some unruly kids. Two of them decided it would be funny to run into the surrounding forest without supervision. Being athletic, she decided she would chase after them for a little while. They eventually made their way to the cabin peacefully, but Talia wasn't exactly the happiest camper (mind the pun) at the moment.
xxxxxShe gaited into the cabin a little weary after a day full of camp songs and running. She pushed the door open lazily and said, "Alright, I'm getting a bottom bunk or I'm killing someone." Talia was just a tad grumpy.
xxxxxWhen she finally made it in, Talia noticed Griffin first. Unfortunately, Talia was too tired to kill Griffin at the moment. She merely slapped her gym-sized duffle bag onto an empty bottom bunk, and plopped her sleeping bag on the bed. Hopefully it wouldn't be cold. Talia had brought a really bad sleeping bag- one of the summer kinds that weren't good for insulation at all. She wasn't exactly "camping savvy."
xxxxxTalia threw a stink eye at Griffin, and then said, "Hey guys. You both know me. Castille it's nice to see you again. My camp name is Moose!" She was trying to be positive, she really was. Realizing she was interrupting, she politely said, "So what were we taking about?"

Griffin's smile got bigger when Castille said she was excited. Then she said she loved kids. The smile shrank infinitesimally, but that was okay. Kids were okay, and she was glad that she got the cutest, youngest crowd rather than the teenagers who were more likely to sass her. To be honest, she was really just here for the nature and the paper- money that is. She needed a job badly and camp counselor was the perfect one for her.
She thought about which activities she knew she'd be running. "Well, I'm going to have a nature walk, I think some guy is helping me with that, or maybe that's with a photography activity... I know I'll be helping Guen with the Scavenger hunt... Really I'll be helping with nature walks and hiking and stuff like that. And jumping in wherever I'm needed." She smiled and remembered to ask, "Oh! What about you?"
She looked at the door when it swung open, and there stood Talia. She looked pooped. Or was that mad? The stink eye seemed to collaborate with the latter idea. She tried not to make eye contact, as she could tell already that Talia wasn't having the time of her life at camp, sadly. And since she'd been the one to talk her into it, there was likely a price on her head and Talia would probably be looking to exact her revenge down the road.
"Moooooooose!" She smiled at her friend, trying to disarm her with friendly happiness, and hoping her enthusiasm would revive her worn-out spirit. "We're talking about the activities we're going to be supervising. I just told Castille that I'd be working on the nature walks, hiking, the scavenger hunt, and some photography stuff." She nodded and carried on with the last of her unpacking.

"I'm doing some swimming stuff, and volleyball, and campfire marshmallows!" The thought of food made her stomach rumble quietly, and she wondered how long it was going to be for lunch.
Castille quickly forgot about food, practically hit her head as she jumped up from her bunk. "Photography stuff?" She said excitedly, staring at Hawkeye "There's photography activities here!?"
Photography was her thing. It was, like entirely her thing. Anything involving picture taking, developing, fixing or adding to she wanted to be a part of it.
Her excitement settled a bit when Talia came in grumpily. She waved to her and said "Oh hey Talia! How's it goin?"

Oh yeah, that's right. There was more of this camp stuff with the kids. GREAT reminder Griffin. "Auuuuuuuuugh. I just want to go to sleep and never ever wake up." She was already unfolding her sleeping bag and laying it out very neatly on the bed. No doubt in the morning it would look like a hurricane had hit her bed, but for now she wanted to come across as at least slightly ladylike.
"Hmmm events. I think I'm running dodgeball. I know I'm going to be in the waterfight!" she said with tired enthusiasm.
Carefully she reached into her bag and pulled out all her necessities. Talia had only been camping like ... twice in her life. She had brought shampoo, conditioner, hairspray, hair gel, curling cream- the list went on. Carefully she unpacked her straightener and her curling iron, and set them on a ledge next to her bed. She pulled out her gym shorts and a tank top and changed quickly. Luckily Talia wasn't really shy about her body.
"Are there showers here?" She asked the girls. There had better be showers here, or the camp was going to wake up every morning with a fist full of Talia's anger.

Castille stared at Talia. "There's going to be a water fight!?" She exclaimed, blue eyes widening in excitement. She loved water fights! Anything involving water actually, but water fights were so much fun!
"I will definitely be a part of that!"
As for the showers....well, Castille wasn't entirely sure. She thought she had seen some, but they weren't attached to the cabins. The thought of sharing a group showering space with a bunch of small children was enough to put a damper on her mood for just a moment.
"Maybe they are near the kids' cabins?" She suggested, looking out the window in an effort to find them before Talia grumped all day.

Griffin nodded her head, of course there was photography! When you were in a place as scenic as Camp Larkspur, who wouldn't want to take pictures?! "I'll be using this bad boy." She held up her Nikon proudly, and uncapped it to take a picture of the tired-looking Talia, before she changed.
"Don't be such a poo, Moose. How can you be tired already!?" She pfft'd at her friend and rolled her eyes. "Of course there's showers. They girl ones are in the middle of the girl's cabin area, I'm pretty sure."
She too was signed up for the water fight, and hoped that she and Talia would be on the same team. They could conquer the world if they just worked together. And it'd be fun to have Castille on the team, too! For good measure she snapped a picture of her new blond friend so she could have a box of camp memories, and friends were an important part of that.

Talia nodded at the waterfight comments. Yeah, yeah there would be a waterfight, big whoop. She was too tired to greet the event with true enthusiasm. Actually, Talia was pretty excited for the event, but after her afternoon, she wasn't really bouncing off the walls.
With the click of a camera, Talia realized her picture was being taken. "GRIFFIN," she screeched. "Have you SEEN what I'm wearing! Don't take pictures!!" Any other situation, she wouldn't have been that upset; quite the opposite actually, Talia loved taking pictures. Somehow though, Talia felt that her protests were only going to goad Griffin into taking more pictures.
Then she stuck her tongue out and said, "I'm not tired ah ..." What was Griffin's camp name again? Oh yeah. "Hawkweye. I just wanted to get into something more comfortable."
Talia peaked out the little window in their cabin. The showers were that far away? Well she would have to get up really early tomorrow then. She didn't want to have wait for a shower, especially not with a bunch of little kids. "You guys wanna go with me tomorrow morning for a shower then?"

Castille looked from 'Hawkeye' to Talia, saying "Lemme guess, you guys know eachother outside of camp huh?" She smiled, awesome! They knew eachother! And Castille sorta knew Talia. They were going to be best friends!
She blinked as a camera appeared in Griffin's hand, and then smiled suddenly when she clicked the shutter at her. So this girl was hardcore photography!
Castille fished through her bag, pulling out her Canon. "This is the equipment I work with." She said, looking through the lens at Griffin and the Talia. "This is the most expensive thing I own right now." She cradled the camera carefully, placing it on the bed next to her gently.

Griffin pfft'd at Talia's reaction. "Oh pish posh." She held the camera away from her face and just held down the button, probably getting shots of the walls and floor, but making the shutter click loudly. She nodded when Talia asked about showering. "It'll be like a party! Well, not one I've ever been to." She blushed. "I mean, I never go to parties naked, that'd be awful." She shuddered and was quiet for a moment. She was glad when Castille pulled out her camera.
She walked over to Castille and peered at the camera. "Ooohh, that's niiiiice." She had a couple more lenses in her bag and a few more at home. "Uh, oh yeah. We went to Crystal together for three years. I graduated last year, though."

"GET OUT OF HERE AND DELETE THAT PICTURE" Talia shouted as she chucked a pillow at Griffin's face.
Dammit Griffin. Dammit dammit Griffin.
Talia turned to Castile to answer her question. "We unfortunately had the unfortunate occurrence of unfortunately meeting at Crystal," she paused to smile, "Remember how I was telling you about that at the gym Castille?" A sly smile crossed her face. If there was one thing Griffin hated, it was being left out.
Talia sighed. "Cameras shmameras. You guys are boring me with your geek talk!" Truthfully, Talia would've been more than happy to model for them normally, but she was tired.
Tired Talia was a mean Talia.
She flopped down onto her makeshift cabin bed, with her face in her second pillow. Yeah, she'd brought two to camp. Without even removing her face from the pillow she said, "When do we have to get uppppp?"
