Puteri walked out of her cave which she called home. She took a moment to look at the beauty outside. There was a lovely lake that always had fresh fish in it. The locals were all very careful to not eat too many of the fishes, knowing that if they were too greedy they could easily eat all the fish. Her beloved cubs were fast asleep in the den, all curled around their father and her love Katashi. It had been some time since she had a break from her cubs and her love. There was hardly a moment that went by that she wasn't with them.
She laid down and watched the clouds drift by. How time seemed to go by. She remembered when she first fell in love with Katashi. He was her personal knight in shining armor. She giggled as she remembered how he was always there to save her and how she thought that she could handle things by herself. How foolish she was.
As she remembered the times she had with Katashi, before the cubs, she couldn't help but wonder what had happen to her. She was still young and filled with youth, her coat shined with life. Yet it had been a long time since she had gone on an adventure. She loved her life as a mother, caring for her young, play little games now and than, but it lacked something that she missed terribly and that was adventure.
She knew that she couldn't just go on adventures, that sort of thing was unheard of for a mother. If the cubs woke up and she was missing they wouldn't know what to do and Katashi, poor Katashi would end up worried sick about her. She glanced in the cave and saw that they were all still fast of sleep. The sun jade yet to peak over the mountains. She knew that she had some time before any of them woke up.
Quietly she took a path down the mountain and down to the water. There she took a quick sip of water. She would take a moment and decided weather or not she wanted to go on a quick adventure.
Leenah-Sesi was staring at her mate. He was fast asleep, curled up in a ball at the other end of the den. She had worked hard on the den, it was hidden from others, behind a bush. She had dug under the bush and made their den. It had to be big enough for them as well as Dhavlen's many friends, which he seemed to have a lot. She always wondered how he managed to meet all those creatures, but she never asked.
She longed to wake him up, to share a moment with him. It had been so long since he paid any attention to her. She was beginning to think that he had gotten bored of her. What a dreadful thought, she couldn't imagine herself as boring. She would tell him and his friends stories about fighting monsters and meeting the gods. Dhavlen always laughed at her and her stories, saying that she lived in a fantasy world. He didn't believe in the gods, which didn't surprise Lee. She imagined that was one of the reasons he lacked her imagination.
Finally, after getting bored of staring at Dhavlen, she decided to do the unthinkable. She stood up and walked over to him. Carefully she put her paw on his paw. "Mister Dhavlen, mister Dhavlen, please wake up. I want to talk to you." She said quietly in his ear. He opened one of his golden eyes and looked at her. A mixture of confusion and annoyance on his face.
"Lee, do you know what time it is? Why don't you go back to sleep and wake me up later, or at least get me some meat." He said before rolling over. She went to the other side of him. This time he opened both eyes. "Alright Lee you got my attention. What do you want?"
"Mister Dhavlen, I wanted to go on a little walk. I wouldn't go very far, I know how much you hate when I do that. I just want to escape the den for a little bit." She said looking at the den's exit. She wished that Dhavlen would allow her to leave more often, but she knew it was safer to be around him. He would protect her from any danger that came her way.
Dhavlen took a moment to think about it. Lee waited patiently for an answer. She fidgeted with her paws nervously. "All right Lee, you may go for a little while. I expect you to be back by the time the sun is in the middle of the sky." He said finally. Lee grinned and rubbed her nose against Dhavlen's. "Make sure to bring be back a meal while you our out."
"Thank you Mister Dhavlen. I'll be back soon!" She said before racing out of the den. She made her way threw the bush, where the sun was just coming out. The valley was not yet woken up and there weren't too many creatures out and about. First things first, Lee said to herself, I must go get a fish.
Puteri was rather shocked by the lack of life around the lake. She sat on a rock and watched the fish swim in circles around the water. They made her laugh the way they swam. She always enjoyed watching fish, though she was never very fond of swimming. In fact that was one of her greatest fears. She took a moment to look back up at the entrance to her cave.
It was now time for her to decide. She knew she shouldn't leave, but there was a part of her that wanted to go explore and have fun. It had been so long since she really had some her time. She was always making sure the cubs were happy and that Katashi was happy, that she never had her time.
She let out a loud sigh. When she decided she wanted cubs she had no idea what she was giving up. She thought that she would be going out on adventures with her cubs. However when ever they stepped foot out of the cave with her she would instantly panic and chase after them. In some ways she was much like her mother. She cringed at the thought. The thought that they had something in common sent a shiver up her spine.
That was it. To prove to herself that she was nothing like her mother she would go out on an adventure. She would be careful to make sure she would be back before it got too late. Quickly she ran back up to the cave and woke up Katashi, being careful to not wake up the kids. She explained to him that she wanted to go on an adventure and would be back soon. The dazed Katashi just nodded his head and went back to sleep.
At last she could start her adventure. But where to begin?
Lee made it to the lake and to her surprise a leopardess was sitting there, looking unsure of what to do. She had not seen nor met this leopardess before and so decided to introduce herself. WIth light feet she made her way to the leopardess. "Hello there Ma'am. I do not think we have meet. My name is Leenah-Sesi." She greeted with her singsong voice.
Puteri jumped. She was not expecting someone. There was a pretty cheetahess. She smiled back at her. "Hello Leenah-Sesi. I am Puteri. I don't think I have seen you around here." She stated before she noticed the sun creeping up over the mountain. "Oh dear. I must get going. I have an adventure to go on and I cannot take too long."
"An adventure? Can I come? I love adventures!" Lee said enthusiastically. "We could guard each other and keep each other safe. It will be fun!"
Puteri laughed. Leenah reminded her of one of her own cubs. "All right Leenah-Sesi. You can come with me. I think it would be marvelous if we were to help each other out on this little adventure."
"Um. Before we go would it be okay if I tell my mate? He is expecting me in a little while and I do not want to worry him." She said, her voice getting quieter. "I won't be long. I run very quickly."
"Sure sure. I will wait over there by the trees." She pointed at a far away spot where the trees started to grow.
Lee nodded her head and headed back to her den. She was thinking about how fun her adventure was going to be!
