(AIM Log between Sabra Knight and I. WC: 2,000 )
The sleek form of a young adult leopard dashed through the open savanna. It was dark and his pelt, normally a stark white already, was lseemingly even brighter under the light of the full moon. Some might have been worried about being an obvious prey for any bigger predators, but Amani didn't care about that. He was just simply too busy enjoying the cool night. Back home he could do such things without worry and perhaps that was why he was still relaxed even in the rogue lands.
Still. He needed to focus. Amani had been spending too much time exploring rather than looking for a potential banu to bring back with him. Most lions would already have one, he was sure of that, but it was harder for a leopard to find a lioness to accept him. Nor would he allow himself to give up or romance another feline. He had plans, he just needed more time to act on them. Though his mother would probably be getting worried by now...surely she would be fine. The leopard stopped and looked up at the moon. How was his family doing? Was his brother already back as well? And what about his sisters? Did they already have pads? "There'll probably be so much news when I return." He commented to himself with a small smile. But that was okay. He liked listening to their stories. And perhaps by the time he did return he would even have his own to share.
Amani wasn't the only bright pelted cat out on an evening prowl. Safi's thick tail curled behind him as he leapt on top of a fallen log, faltering only when his forepaw almost collapsed inside the decayed wood. No problem. He kept his 'lady killer' face on, and kept walking.
Safi was on the hunt. His prey? Something female. He wasn't picky, so long as she was willing, and gorgeous. After all, he was a hybrid, and now that he was used to the concept, he was even more used to the fact that he could get as much tail as he wanted without consequences. Hell to the yes.
That's when he spotted her. A petite little figure with the most gorgeous spots he'd ever seen, melted in with a mint green on her white coat. She was obviously a leopard, and as his father always said, once you go leopard...
Safi grinned and sauntered over. "Looking for something? Or dare I say, someone?"
If he had been back home the leopard would have let out a sharp curse followed by either his sister or his mother's name. Those two were often finding themselves sneaking up on him in the dark. It was quite easy honestly with the way that Amani found himself always day dreaming beneath the sky. Of course that may be a problem for him in the rogue lands.
Still he only flinched when the other feline sauntered over towards him. The flinch turned into a look of fascinated horror as he studied the stranger. Was it a lion? Or a leopard? Or...a mix? Was this a hybrid? Sure he had seen some before, but that was at home not here. Amani found himself shaking his head, no, before taking a step backwards. What should he do? He had nothing against hybrids besides the bitter reminder that if he should truly love a lioness then that would be the fate of his own cubs.
Untold grace descended from the succubus he called grandmother allowed the leopon to slip up next to the younger leopard without disturbing the peace around him. Her same orchid eyes looked out from his face as he studied the hot little minx. He could smell her unease like a sweet perfume, calling to his inner protective nature to comfort her.
After all, he didn't want to traumatize her. Just have a little...fun. "Can't you talk? I asked you a question, pet."
And now he was approaching. Amani flinched in surprise at the way the leopon just came up next to him. Something about the approach of the other feline disturbed him. Was this one not right in the head or something? Amani just blinked at him as he asked the question. Pet? Who was a pet?
Oh, no. No no no. Amani shook his head and took a step away. He did not want to talk at the moment. Though he had to frown. Why was this hybrid acting so strange about him? The leopard took a long look at the sleek, white feline before sighing. Please don't tell me that he thinks I'm a female.Amani turned around before pausing again to take a look back at the hybrid. That or he has...odd interests in the same sex. With a shudder he started to move again.
The leopon merely shrugged, and followed suit, his graceful paws sinking into the soft dirt with each step under the moon light. One quick look at the leopard's downstairs told him all he needed to know, and still, he wasn't deterred. His intentions just moved from physical fun to mental, courtesy of his mother's upbringing.
"You can keep walking all night, but unless you slow down, you'll never find a female, pet." Safi mused with a chuckle. "Your scent stinks of pride lands, so I can only assume your on the prowl for something a little...feral. And doing a piss poor job at it, if I might add."
With another sigh Amani slowed down to a stop. The leopard looked back over at the leopon with a frown and just sat, "What would you know about finding females?" He suddenly asked looking over the white feline. At least the other wasn't trying to hit on him now. But who was he to comment on his 'job' as piss poor?
Amani tilted his head and just stared at the leopon, "A piss poor job?" The leopard retorted, "Do you have nothing better to do than comment on someone else's life? What if I have plenty of females on call, hmm? And if I didn't would you even know why I wouldn't?"
When asked if he had nothing better to do, Safi merely grinned, "Nope." And when Amani chose to sit, he remained standing with his head tilted. Everything the leopard said was feeding fuel to the fires of his mischief, and giving his heart a whirl.
"By the way you're getting defensive, I'd say I hit a nerve." The snowy leopon crossed infront of the leopard, and began to circle him. His critical eyes took in every physical aspect, and nonverbal reaction of Amani. "What is it, pet? Having a hard time finding a little lady to take back home?"
Watching the leopon, Amani felt a small chill. Something about the white feline kept reminding him of his own family. Of certain members who loved to tease and torment for amusement. Family love alright. He thought rolling his eyes before focusing back on the hybrid.
"First of all I'm Amani, not pet." He snapped suddenly standing back up. He didn't like being circled like some prey. "Secondly, no." He paused and his anger seemed to fade, "I just can't find one whose right enough. The lady or ladies that I take home have to be able to survive in my pride....with all of it's rules." He sighed, "I've just not been able to find someone who seems to be right for it, for me."
"Finally," Safi rolled his eyes. "I didn't know how long I could keep up the 'pet name' act." As loathe as he was to admit it, the one type of feline he hated to seduce was males. Disgusting! It was so much easier to talk to Amani when he thought he was a she.
"See, there you go." Safi smiled, his pacing coming to a slow stop. "You can be civil." He curled his tail around his paws as he sat. "Okay, before I start giving advice, what kind of rules does your pride have?" He asked curiously. "I'll assume that they're strict, if it's making it hard for you to find the perfect girl."
"Pfft." Amani looked over at Safi, "I'm sorry to disapoint you by being a male. As it is do I get to know your name or should I start calling you 'pet' as well?" He grinned faintly before shaking his head. Hybrid. That was what he kept saying in his mind.
"Ah. Civil, I guess I can be that sometimes." The leopard sat back down adn watched the other feline with interest. "You give me advice?" Still he couldn't help but to smile. What would it hurt to listen to him? Who knows, it might prove helpful. "Definitely strict on females. Males have all the power and freedom and it's up to them to go out and find a female when they come of age. For their harem in which the females must obey or else..." He went into a bit more detail about his mostly lion pride and watched the other's face. What would this one think about his home?
"You are forgiven." The hybrid waved it off casually. "My name is Safi, but you can call me pet, if you don't mind sleeping six feet under."
Safi made sure that he was comfortable before submerging himself into Amani's world. It was hard to simply suggest he never return, but he knew that not all familys were as lax as his. "Strict on females, male supremacy, and did I hear something about a harem?" He listened as the leopard explain, piping in more questions when he didn't quite understand a concept, or was too baffled by it.
"My advice would be to let the female know you before you tell her about your pride. If she asks, drop the name and see if she reacts. Depending on what she does, she can either move on with her, or just move on." He sighed. "Honestly, there isn't anything I could tell you that you haven't been told already. Females are generally the weaker sex, emotionally, anyway, and if you can prove to her that your going to stay by her side, and that you love her with all of your heart, then she should come back fairly easily."
"If not, just club her, and drag her back. I'm kidding, of course."
Amani smiled at the leopon's retort. "Of course." He wouldn't call Safi 'pet' because that would be too weird. He had no interest in fighting or flirting with any male. The leopard became more serious though as he gave Safi more details on his pride. He felt uncomfortable talking abotu such things, but was thankful at the same time for the chance to talk about things.
The weaker sex? Amani laughed at that comment, "Sorry. It's just if you knew my mother..." He shook his head, "As it is most females do tend to be that way though. I think I'll take that into consideration next time. Maybe I'll find someone tough enough even if it takes a while to 'woo' her then at least she can handle my pride." He sighed. It seemed so much work having to support females, rather he hoped to find someone who could cope easily with change. Then again maybe there was someone out there who he would find himself dedicated to. Someone he wouldn't mind supporting.
The leopard laughed, "Still! I'll take it into consideration if all else fails. I've heard it's been done before." He joked. Still the leopard looked around, "I suppose that's all the advice I need for now. Thank you, Safi." With a nod he turned away, "Guess I need to go looking for some test subjects for your advice." He grinned and started to walk away, "We'll probably never see each other again, so I hope you have a good life."
Just as he hoped that he could find a good life in his own pride.
