There was always a reason to be outside. Levi took a deep breath and looked around at all the leaves. Bats were screeching, birds were screeching back- it was a serene environment. Sure, it could've used more fog around here, but it wasn't the mountains; she could make due with the calm that was her current position. The wind past through her white hair which was loose and a book was flipped open to a page about... erm-. What was she reading again? In...dex. Oh.
Curling her legs and resting on her side, she allowed her tail to twirl for balance. Her bare feet revealed toes wriggling in the warmth of the weather along with bare legs right up to the overall shorts and orange top she wore. Flipping a page, she narrowed eyes at the content. Surely, this list of words was supposed to match in some way besides the obvious first letter...

Studying. Not a fun task, but for Mot, not all that difficult. He did it if he needed to at regular intervals, usually rewarding himself with a guilty pleasure. Today's pleasure was yet to be decided.
He found himself by a big old tree, deciding sitting underneath it with his books would do fine. Mot dropped his things down and flopped himself onto the ground and rested his back to the tree. What a perfect day for reading!
Mot flipped open the book he had brought, crossing his ankles and flipping to where he had left off.

This book was not as friendly to her as the one in Botany. With a sigh and sudden perking ears, she heard a crackling from below. Looking down from her perch in the big old tree, Levi spotted a boil. A pretty tall boil. Moving forward to lay on her stomach across the broad branch she'd been using as her bench, she stalked a bit. He didn't look threatening in any way... but that hat was pretty nifty.
Time for a bit of trickery...
With a light smile, she unraveled her tail from the branch she'd been using as a backup grounder and dipped it below. Wavering the snakey white tail just above the hat, she maneuvered it slightly more to the side. She waited for a breeze to roll by to take action. Flicking the end of her tail, she allowed the tip to flip his hat off and take to the wind (it wasn't a strong wind, but it would do to misdirect any suspicion), recoiling her tail back up into the leaves. She watched with a toothy smile to see the boil's reaction and to get a better look at him from her angle. Was he a fighter?

Mot was fairly deep into his reading, when a breeze went by. His hand softly moved by instinct to protect his hat, but somehow the garment flew off before he could grab it. Mot moved his head quickly to see where it had landed, his free hand holding his hair where a hat used to be. How had it flown off so easily? Mot's mouth twisted a bit as he put down his book. He didn't get up, seeing as it hadn't flown all that far, but he did lay down to stretch his arm out to grab the hat. "Not so fast. Don't go flying off on me." He muttered to the hat, dusting it off and placing it back on his head.
Lucky for him it didn't fly far. Had he lost his hat, he'd have lost his mind!
He was totally unaware of the dastardly deed f the ghoul in the tree.

Oh- the boil had been reading. Levi hadn't noticed the books till he put down the one he'd been looking into to catch the flying hat. Upon closer inspection, the now hatless boil wasn't built for fighting by the looks of it; tall enough to go a round with, but didn't look like he had enough meat on him to get in enough hits. It was a shame.
But books. Books books books. Bet yer a smart fellar, huh she whispered. As he got back into his position leaning against the tree with his book, Levi waited a bit before she swung down infront of him by her tail, hair falling with her upside position. No harm in asking what he was doing, right? Those books intrigued her and, if he was really smart, he must know a thing or two she could learn. Wide-eyed, she stared into the dark shadow of the hat where Mot's eyes would be. Whatcha readin' there?

Woosh.
Another breeze? Mot clutched his hat and looked up to find a face staring at him. "Guh!" He was startled, staring at a sudden upside down ghoul. Where did she come from? By the looks of it, she came from the tree. He smirked to himself, closing his book softly with his finger staying inside as a placeholder. "A book." He said with a calm smile. Being a smartass was always fun once in a while. "What are you doing hanging upside down?"

A- Well, no, she couldn't use "a book" as a comeback to that question. Pausing in thought, she tilted her head and grinned back. What'sa matter with bein' upside down?... She crossed her arms when she spoke. It had been a good thing she wore the overalls that day, not that it mattered to Levi whether or not Mot got an eyefull. Up to this point, her feet were set against the bottom of the branch as if she were standing on it upside down despite her tail doing all the real work.
She reached out and instinctively invaded his privacy by trying to put a finger and thumb to the brim of his hat. It looked like such an appealing hat up close. Like a leather or a suede... Just what kinda book, ye wisecracker? Indeed, she'd picked up on his playful tone. She grazed the hat's brim with her finger tips. oooh~ soft...

"Nothing at all. Maybe I'm just jealous I can't make it look as easy as you." Mot complimented, a smug smile on his lips.
Her interest in his hat was not a surprised, since many people seemed rather intrigued by it for some reason, though her invasion of his bubble was slightly unnerving. Not that he let that show. "A book about mold." He grinned playfully. "Fun read, I assure you." It kind of was, but also it wasn't. "Did you know there is a mold that can grow in your lungs when you breath it in? It's true~." Mot explained as if it were amazing, yet an air of teasing lingered in his tone. Oh yes, Mot was just a boil full of useless information about mold at that moment.

Levi snickered at the compliment and offered the boil a grin in return; cheeks rounded at the curl of her lips. Can't blame ya none. We tatzels got alot 'a good strength in 'ar tails. Her sense of pride in that fact was evident.
Then, at the mentioning of the subject matter in his book, the ghoul's eyes brightened. As swiftly as she'd hung down, she disappeared momentarily back into the leaves again. Rustling could be heard and with another break through the leaves, Levi dropped beside the boil's legs in a crouch position. Crawling in as close as she could without climbing on top of him, the tatzel sat back on her heels and straightened her back in attention. She wanted to listen and take in what he was saying. Well, Jiminy Jack- didn't know that!!! ...Yer some smart kinda critter ain't ya-... she wasn't sure what to call him as she hadn't properly introduced herself yet. erm- names Levi. Pleasure ta meetcha She held out a hand and waited for a response before wanting to listen attentively to the boil's knowledge of mold again. So...what else does tha book say 'bout mold? Besides tha lungs can ya grow it anywhar else?

Mot raised his head as the tailed ghoul vanished into the tree again. His brow raised in slight concern as he listened to the rustling she was making, turning his head quickly to regard her as she landed beside him. He smirked, pleasded to be called smart. "I try." He said in return, absolutely loving the ghoul's cute accent. Mot took the hand offered for a handshake, nodding. "I'm Mot. Nice to meet you too." Jublilance! Another ghoul to add to his list of friends.
"What else indeed." He chuckled, flipping through his book. This was a good opportunity to refresh his knowledge of it by teaching it to someone else, after all. It also was not every day you met someone so eager to hear about molds. "There is a species of mold called Slime Mold that can move around. They release spores when they need to find another food source, which is usually dead logs or wet paper." She didn't actually find this stuff interesting, did she? Mot found it kind of really uninteresting. At least, not as interesting as fun stuff, like gambling or parties.

Slap ma' skitters....Slime Mold! Levi wriggled around and invaded Mot's space again. Nudging him ever so lightly (not so much to move as to get as close as possible), she curled her tail upward and used it like a backing while resting on her side. This was as optimal as it was going to get for her to look on into the book with Mot as he read. Gold eyes stared into the shadow of his hat again.
So they eat things that aren't movin' anymore. Think critters might have trouble with 'em? It wasn't so much a question to be answered as her showing particular interest in the subject matter. Yes, she was being captivated by talking about mold. It didn't take much for Levi to be completely distracted and infatuated by random facts. She processed everything and tried to store the information in her memory. The real question here was- could she actually repeat what she learned back in the same way? Highly unlikely.

Oh boy. This ghoul was certainly pushing the boundaries of Mot's personal space bubble. He inched ever so slightly away to regain some of said bubble, acting as if he hadn't.
"You mean as in does the slime mold effect living things? I don't believe so.." Mot flipped a few pages to be certain. "Fairly certain they just like moist, damp things.. they feed off of bacteria. Anything moving would disrupt their meal."
Mot paused in his studies to regard Levi. "Any other subjects you might be interested in?"

ah, I see.... The wheels in her head turned, demanding the information be stored only to end up in one ear and out the other. This process had no effect on her enthusiasm while in the moment of learning though; she was still pleased as pudding. The inching away was just registered as a shift to get comfortable which Levi accepted blindly.
'Bout interested in any ol' thing, realy. Erm.. whaddaya got in those there books? She had put her own book in her lap now, fingers curled around the spine.

Mot looked down to his books, reading the titles over in his head before replying. "Mostly school related things. Hexes, Human Studies. Also got some stuff on general fitness for my own safety." If he was going to remain a member of Fitness Club, Mot thought it might be best to know how not to harm himself when it came to actually exercising.. if he even bothered to do it.
Mot looked over, putting down his book and leaning on the tree behind him, arms folded behind his head. "I'm curious to know what books you have there." He smirked, with an unseen brow raised in curiosity.

Hexes and Human Studies... fitness safety. hmmmDidn't learn non 'bout hexes er humans yet. Botany pretty much been what I learned ferm so far. She wasn't sure what to make of the fitness safety things. Stretching and proper positionings were all well and good in her book, but they were more of a suggestion than a regular practice. Perhaps the boil was trying to better his fighting potential? Her opinion of Mot rose with this in mind. The boil looked smart and was smart enough to recognize the importance of a good roughing up.
Oh! This thing...yeah being called on for her own book, Levi wriggled into a cross-legged sit and opened it in her lap with both hands. She frowned somewhat and then angled a spread for Mot to see. Pictured on the right side with text to the left, the pages were about swimming and building things in sand. Seems ta me like things ya'd do at a beach. It wasn't as though she had any experience at beaches; she'd just been taking that from the text. The Index was still perplexing to her, but the ghoul could read. She just wanted to understand how the paraphrasing of the whole book was done via indexing...
Been tryin' ta learn 'bout different things critters do in their spare time. Water looks fun ta me. Used ta go swimmin' n tha ol' water hole back home. Ya swim any? Er ever built one 'a these? She pointed to a sand castle in the image. The castle was tall peaked and on a mountain- perfect display of a mad king's home.
