The once open and seeping wounds had scabbed over, leaving jagged deep red lines over his shoulders, neck and side. A testament to what he had endured when throwing down with the Skinwalker who killed his mother and father. They had lost their tenderness and he had washed the mud from his body, making them appear even more prominent. He spent less than a minute scrutinizing his appearance in the shallow stream running through the territory of the Angeni who was now caring for him. When he had been found he hadn’t wished to speak or even survive but then he had some sense talked into him. Not desiring to take a trot down memory lane at the moment he began walking, passing through the edge of the territory in only a few minutes. He didn’t often remain in the inner circle of the family, just didn’t feel comfortable doing so. He winced as he stretched out the wing Barracus had taken a bite out of. Though everything else was healed that wing still seemed to be problematic, he had been told it would heal if he gave it time but he was impatient and itching to fly again.
After a while Roman crested a small hill and stopped enjoying the warm breeze as it blew through his mane. Lowering his head he began to take little nibbles of the grass at his feet, this was the first time he had been able to graze alone. Háidēs had been the one bringing him food for a while there, constantly caring for him even though he didn’t accept much of it. With a snort and a shake of his head he went back to grazing, silencing his thoughts for the moment.

What a maniac! That stallion had given her a certain run for her money. She had managed to injure him enough to be able to get away, but not before he had cracked one of her lower wings. She winced as she tried to close her wings back into her body. They all folded except for that one... it just... dangled and drug the ground. Broken. She cursed at the white stallion she had just departed from. It was too dangerous for her to stay in the woods, if someone else were to attack, the dangling wing would be a problem. She had to get out into an open area and try to find a place to heal. Carefully she made her way down the trails and into the clearing. She knew of a small watering hole that had some thick bushing nearby. It would make for a good hiding spot until she could figure out to do with her broken appendage.

He wouldn’t even had heard the mare if her wing hadn’t been dragging and making a light noise, she was so light on her hooves. His ears flicked back as he listened and he slowly lifted his maw from the water to turn and observe the new comer. She was coming in a few lengths away from him but he could still clearly see the odd way she was caring one of her four wings. Four wings? He hadn’t even paid attention before but now he allowed his eyes to roam over them. He had come from a land made up of predominantly Winds but he had often heard stories of creatures with wings like she had. In fact, the stallion who had nursed him back to health after his fight was one. Angenis, he believed they were called. On any normal occasion he would have taken one more swig and walked away, leaving her to her devices but her damaged wing reminded him of his own. His was nowhere near as severe but he could imagine how much it must hurt. “Are you alright?” He found himself asking before he could really think about it. “That looks rather painful…”
Had she just been in battle or something? She did look like she was in rough shape. Memories of his battle with Barracus played in the back of his mind and he mentally pushed them aside, focusing on the Angeni mare. He couldn’t really figure out what it was but there was something alluring about her, perhaps it was how she carried herself or her long red hair. He didn’t know and he didn’t spend much time thinking on it.

She had been caught up in her own thoughts that she had not even noticed the stallion. It was very unlike her to be caught by surprise, by anyone. Her head shot up quickly and her wings unfurled at the sound of another's voice, a ploy to make herself look larger in case it was a predator again. She tried her best to camouflage her damaged wing.
When her eyes came to rest, she noted that he was colored much like herself, and winged. He didn't seem to be a threat, she cautiously curled her wings back in towards her body. "Fine, fine... Thank you. Just passing thru."
Why today, of all days, did she have to run into someone? She was rather tired of runs ins for a while. Hopefully she could just quickly make her way by and be on her way.

He watched as her wings unfurled into a large golden cloud before assuming his own defensive position, uncertain of what her next move would be. He had already been mauled by a Skinwalker; he didn’t want to be attacked by an Angeni for frightening her. When it was obvious she had relaxed he followed suit but still did not dare to move closer. She was still obviously a bit cautious after whatever had caused her wing injury and he didn’t wish to push her further. He was grateful that she spoke for it removed some more of his own tension. Raising one eyebrow he cleared his throat. “You don’t look fine, that wing looks pretty damaged.” With that he motioned with his head toward the wing currently hanging by her side. “I could try to assist you if you would like.”

The stallion had taken a position like she had, but soon relaxed. His voice seemed like a kind one, but she was still uncertain.
She looked back to her dragging wing, "This? Oh, it's nothing." she again tried her best to make it furl in, it was useless. It was definitely broken. "There's nothing to be done of it,"
"I didn't mean to bother you, again, I was just passing."
Please... please just leave me alone.... she thought to herself, trying her best to keep her tongue at bay.

He observed as she painfully attempted to fold her damaged wing, it was obviously more than nothing but the last thing he wanted to do was to get in a fight over it. It was obvious she had been through much and being pushy probably wouldn’t improve her situation at all. Even so, he had always been a stubborn, hard headed stallion. Before the attack and his rehabilitation he would have shrugged, commented on her stupidity and walked away. Cautiously he took a step forward, figuring that if he moved slowly and in little increments he wouldn’t seem imposing to her in any way. “You didn’t bother me; I believe I was the one who bothered you.” Averting his gaze he continued. “You just came up quietly, there is no way you could have disturbed me.” Turning his gaze back on her he looked at her wing once more. “I realize you have already said you don’t need help and that I may seem pushy but perhaps I could help you set and wrap it?” He knew he was taking a big risk, he could make her angry or even cause her to turn her back and walk away but he had an urge to help her.
There was something strange about this mare, something he couldn’t quite pinpoint. She wasn’t like any she had ever met before. She had her own strength, she didn’t need a stallion to protect her and she was admittedly quite easy on the eyes. He wanted to help her, he didn’t know why, but he knew it was something he desired.

Who was she kidding? There was no way she would be able to set and wrap the wing on her own. She was going to have to accept help from someone... it might as well be this stallion.
She sighed slightly and looked over to the orange male, "I do suppose some help could be used," she looked back to her damaged wing. "I can't do a thing with it on my own."
She turned her attention back to the male, "Thank you."

Though a small part of him expected her to turn on him and tell him to get lost he was relieved she hadn’t. Like her, he hated being pestered by others so, in turn, he hated pestering her. Often times it seemed when one wanted nothing more than to be alone someone always had to come along and break the solitude. Perhaps it was just a rule of life that when one wished to be alone they would find they were never truly by themselves. “Very well.” He responded simply not wishing to flash a triumphant smile or make some cocky remark that would cause her to change her mind. With cautious footing he drew nearer to her, making sure he never advanced to the point of making himself seem a threat. He still didn’t know whether or not she trusted him and he wasn’t going to be foolish to trust her completely either.
When he got to the point where he was maybe a step or two away from her he stopped, not wanting to crowd her too terribly. His icy blue eyes went to her wing and he looked it over a minute before turning back to her. “Don’t thank me yet;” he smiled gently, “I am not an expert when it comes to bandaging so you may have to help me out a little bit.”

She watched him with caution, still unsure if his intentions were just on fixing her wing or not. She was ready to evade if needed. She watched him as he glanced over her wing, almost laughing at his comment. She stopped herself, not wanting to offend him.
"I'm sure it will be a much better job than I could do. If not for you, it'd just ...." she paused and huffed, "well, hang there."
She wasn't sure what they could use for bandaging. As she scanned the area she saw some trees with vines and large leaves in the distance. "Perhaps those would work?" she motioned towards the vines.

“I guess that will remain to be seen, hopefully there is no way I can possibly make it worse.” With that he walked over to where she had identified the vines and leaves and began pulling them from their perches. The Angeni that found him had taken care of his injuries even though he didn’t have to, in a way Roman felt as though he were passing the kindness on to another. Though he felt mentally and emotionally lost with everything that had happened this served as a welcomed distraction for the moment.
After dragging a generous amount of materials over to where she was standing he slowly reached out with his nose until it pressed delicately up against her wounded wing. He didn’t know if he would be able to feel where the bone had been broken or not but he figured it was worth a shot. “Can you pinpoint exactly where it hurts or is it just a general sort of pain?” He hadn’t any idea what he was doing but this seemed as though it were common sense. He almost didn’t even take the time to notice how soft and clean her feathers felt against the sensitive skin of his nose.

She watched quietly as he delicately gathered items for the bandage. It was a needed relief to see that he meant no threat to her.
She winched slightly as he moved her wing looking for the break, "It will be between the shoulder and the first joint," she turned to nose at it gingerly, "That's where he had a hold of me,"
She spoke in general of the white stallion that had tried to rip her 'vile wings' from her body to make her 'more beautiful'. What a nutcase he had been.

“I’m sorry.” He responded absentmindedly when he noticed her wincing, though he didn’t wish to hurt her he knew it was the only way to know where exactly the pressure needed to be applied. His ears pricked when she mentioned her attacker. “He?” Perhaps she had encountered the same evil stallion he had, the Skinwalker who would never leave his thoughts. Very slightly he ran his nose over where she said the injury was, feeling a slight bump and nodding. “Alright, this is about where my expertise ends. Do we need to set and splint this or what is our next move?” He felt a little ping to his pride when he had to admit he knew nothing more but there was something bigger going on at this moment.
“My name is Roman by the way.” He had only just realized that he had been touching her and she didn’t even know what to call him. He wasn’t really worried about the courtesy of it all but he figured she should at least have a name to keep in the back of her mind should she wish it. While still in thought he allowed his eyes to meet with hers, taking in the warm honey color. There was something about her but he couldn’t tell what it was.

She smiled a bit at his honesty, "You'll have to pull it out, just a bit until it pops back into place."
This was about to hurt, she hating setting bones. Luckily this was her first ever to have been broken, but she had dealt with many in her clan before their extinction. "Just a quick pull,"
She braced herself for the jerky movement that was about to come.
"Roman... Nice and clean." She looked back to the male, "Nariko," she offered simply.
"And yes... He. I just had a run in with a psychotic white stallion...Ritalin I believe he said his name was." she couldn't quite remember. "He was trying to rip my wings off to make be beautiful... Loon I tell you," she rambled a bit trying to keep her mind off of the setting that was about to happen.

Somehow he knew he didn’t want to know about setting the bone before even asking the question but it was a necessary evil in achieving their goal. He hadn’t ever experienced it before but he could only guess at how painful having to reset a bone must be, it wasn’t something he wished to do to someone he had only just met. He listened to her speak but was first and foremost focused on the task at hand, he would respond once this bone was taken care of. Inhaling deeply he very gently took part of her wing in his mouth and braced the other part against his shoulder. Without giving either of them time to contemplate the pain he jerked gently but with the proper amount of force and gave a sympathetic wince when hearing the pop.
“Nariko huh? I haven’t ever heard a name like that before.” While speaking he busied himself with arranging her wing so it was near to her body but so it would be able to heal properly and laying the leaves where he thought they should be. He figured she would stop him if he were making a grievous mistake of any kind. When she began speaking of the stallion that attacked her he gave an inward sigh of relief, Barracus had nothing to do with it. “I wonder why wings are so disgusting to him; I have met someone who thinks that without wings you are nothing. It seems those living here like to go to the extremes when it comes to things. Though you are injured I am glad you got away without too much damage.”
